Condo was great. Whale watching from the lanai, sunsets while eating supper were fantastic.

We had a great time and would stay again BUT a couple things would make it nicer. The beds need updated. The queen bed is not comfortable and the unattached headboard bumps against the wall every time you turn over. The couch bed is horrible. Takes two people to open and shut the sliding doors. The view is spectacular.

No aircon. Half the power point not working. Shower broken stove not working rusted sliding doors wouldn’t open to the balcony. Bed out of the 1960s…half fans not working Some lights not working apart from that it was terrible Needs to be bulldozed and a new place built. Don’t waste your time money or sweat and trust me you’ll be doing lots of sweating This is second place I e stayed at with booking .con Where the Accom was shocking….Never again with them either.. the staff couldn’t give a rats arse. I’ll be surprised if this review makes it to the web site before it gets taken down

Do not believe the photos of condo interiors. The everything in the condo is very old. Not stock with necessary utinsels. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. The exhaust fan in the kitchen blows back inside and dirty filthy with grease. Patio sliding doors are corroded and very hard to open. Broken down beach chairs. Kitchen dishes, utensils, furnitures are about 40 years old. Lanai furnitures are rotted. Loose railing section a safety hazard. Rusted toilet paper holder. No icemaker, Dirty kitchen cabinet interiors. Kitchen faucet hard to shut off. Non guest are parked in the parking areas. Vagrants are roaming in the parking garage at night. If this unit is upgraded it can generate more revenues and happy renters. For the last 20 years we rent vacation condo every year in Hawaii this is the most disgusting condo we ever stayed. I got sick when got home, I contribute it to meldew in the condo.

This property is right on the water with designated parking and a small public beach within walking distance. Our room had a lanai that faced the ocean for beautiful sunsets and relaxation. It is a small distance from the town center and quiet with much less traffic and congestion.

Super nice and clean. Very well stocked, except there was no can opener. I highly recommend.

The location is the best, right on the ocean with nice views. The check in was very easy, however, can only give 3 stars for a couple main reasons. The summer in Kona is hot and the unit does not have AC. Can't stay indoor during day time. You have to open balcony door at night and turn on fans to be able to sleep. The second reason is, the unit is a little dated. It needs some TLC.

The balcony and view get 5 stars. The sound of the ocean is incredible. The bed is ok. However, we feel this suite should not be rented until a few hours of work is done to fix a list of deficiencies that are unacceptable. The TV is only partly-functioning, because of mis-matching of the remote controls. We were promised a new remote but it never quite materialized. The kitchen sink fixture is shot and finding cold water is easier if you get it from the bathroom. Two of the four stove elements don't work. The refrigerator door handles were never reversed! Utensils that are listed are missing, and the knives are good for cutting only soft butter. The fan over the kitchen is installed in the wrong place, and opening the cupboard doors is dangerous when the fan is on. Even the clock battery is dying fast. Ventilation in the shower/WC is limited by dirt in the grille. There is street noise that can be stopped by the intervention of the tourist assocation with Vacasa's input. Allowing muffler and boom-box noise is actually more stupid than the offenses themselves. The lobby has a stereo system. I had to ask the front desk to turn that down, because the low-pitched thumping from it goes into most of the nearby suites: The louvred windows over our door are rusted open and can't be closed. One night they left this noise on all night. I pointed out that not using that stereo at all will attract no complaints from anyone, so why have it. This complex has a bad neighbor: It's a church business called Living Stones, which would be more aptly-named Church of the Losing Stoners. The owner of this business seems to feel his business model is enhanced by broadcasting a loud, electronic thumping noise through the neighborhood, starting at 7:15 am. I was unable to get through to these people, despite two visits. He has failed to post a business license as is normally required. Almost half of the Yelp reviews on this idiot are about that noise. Vacasa can stop that more readily than I can, and has better standing to do so. Overall, we are happy with Vacasa and we would rent from them again in the same location, provided the suite does not suffer from the neglect that we endured in suite 316.

This condo needs some work! It is very dated (which we expected from the pics) and needs a serious deep clean. Dated is one thing, but not being clean is another. The doors are grimy (if you close them stuff falls off the bottom) , the shower and shower curtain were dirty (pink mildew on the shower curtain). I requested a new curtain and that was taken care of right away. But I went ahead and bought some bleach and cleaned the shower and kitchen sink myself because it was GROSS! The fans were nice to cool the place down in the evenings, but I also had to clean those. They were COVERED in dust. Luckily we didn’t spend much time there except to sleep and occasionally watch the sunset, since there is so much to do and see around the island. The lanai furniture is new so that was a plus. All the tables in the condo are glass and we’re visibly not clean. The washer and dryer were clean and we could do our laundry and wash the towels (only 4 bath towels). I did wash the bedding just in case since everything else was so grimy. The view is incredible and the sound of the waves was everything we wanted. There were turtles in the little tide pools, a pod of dolphins swam by one morning and put on a show. The pool was nice for an evening dip to cool off after exploring for the day. Da Poke Shack was also incredible! Best poke we tried the whole trip. And we tried a lot. This condo has serious potential but needs a major overhaul! We would absolutely stay at Kona Bali Kai again, but definitely not this particular room.

The reviews as to the property being dated was accurate. The oceanfront balcony was the winner for us.

May 2022
This place is great but dated with minor cosmetic issues and only one burner on our stove top worked. Well stocked with towels and cooking supplies. Also there is no air conditioner. However we loved this place. The ocean views and crashing waves were sublime. We had our doors open the whole time and did not miss air conditioning. We spent most of our time on the lanai when we were not galivanting around the big island. If you want a wild snorkel adventure check out Wild Hawaii Ocean Adventures. We did the "Blue Water and Manta" snorkel with them and both were awesome. Da Poke Shack is in the complex and not to be missed if you like Poke. Don't forget the shave ice; "Scandinavian Shave Ice" has a fun twist with ice cream in the middle. Big island is too much fun. Hope to come back soon and would totally stay here again. Aloha!! Sigh!!!!

The location of this building is fabulous with a grassy area above the rocky shoreline and a few small sandy areas. The sound of the surf is very loud - which I enjoyed. It is next to a popular surfing area, which is cool. Convenient to both Kona and Keahou areas. The unit itself was clean, but old and worn out, including the furnishings. The bed was very hard (perhaps good for some people but horrible for me). There were barely any supplies. There were dishes and minimal cleaning supplies, but that’s it. No coffee-so be prepared for your first morning!! There is a washer dryer, but no detergent - except for what we left there. There were two beach towels and some old broken down snorkel gear and two old beach chairs.

This unit has spectacular views of the water. So close you can hear the waves continuously. The condo decor was a bit dated and the kitchen layout was odd. The fan hit cabinet doors and the refrigerator door was facing the wrong way (which isn’t hard to fix). But the unit was comfortable for 2 and we spent most of our time on the balcony. I would suggest getting bar height chairs like your neighbors to make it more comfortable. Good location - easy to get to amenities on Kona side of island.

Location and size of condo just great. However, could not get the internet working, and the TV was located where it was difficult to view from couch or chair.

The screen doors needed 2 hands, the baseboards were filthy, we had to rewashed pretty much all the very limited pots and pans and only supplied with 3 dishwasher and 4 laundry soaps for 2 weeks. And they asked us to start a load of laundry before we left. Only the plus side there’s a wall of windows with a multi million dollar view. The bed was comfortable and the location is ideal.

Incredible ocean view. Ringside seats for turtle watching. Saw dolphins pass by. Rent unit for the view as the place itself needs to be updated.

The pictures portrayed a beautiful place. When we arrived the place needs a make over. The sliding doors were hard to open, the vertical blinds were in disarray. The floors were dirty. The cabinets in kitchen needed repair. The entry was rusted. I was very disappointed. They should give me a partial refund.

Loved watching the surfers, the tides going in and out. I could see fish in the tidepool from the condo balcony. The sound of the ocean. I could see the sunset from the balcony.
