You are within walking distance of Maalaea Harbor and shops. In the harbor, try heading out on a whale-watching cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation, a snorkeling adventure with Trilogy, or a sunset cruise on the Ali'i Nui. If the kids are with you, spend a day at the Maui Ocean center which has Honu, a new humpback whale experience, and lots of interactive exhibits. Take advantage of the restaurants there such as Seascape or Beach Bum's. When you venture out, head south about 7 miles into Kihei town for local beaches such as Charley Young, amazing fish tacos at Coconut's, and the shopping at the Shops of Wailea. Just south, you'll find a four-mile stretch of beach which is a great spot for paddle boarding, walking, and watching for whales.
