Eveything was clean, we had a very secluded terrace to take our meals. The kitchen appliance is fine and the common bbq very well maintained. The beach is peaceful. The central location of the condo allows to easily explore Maui.

We liked the location and thought the condo was spacious. It was nice to be able to walk the beach every day. The air conditioner was not working, which they told us before we arrived. It was only an issue when would leave the condo and at night when the sliders and door is closed, there is no airflow so it gets quite warm, didn’t really think of that. Didn’t really pay attention that the picture of the washer and dryer was not in the condo, so paid to use the community one. We had quite a bit of noise from the condo above us, it would be early in the morning and later at night. Overall we were happy with it and would stay again and recommend.

Upon arriving at the property we were greeted by what I assume is the manager. She was rude & not helpful. It was before check in time & the apt hadn't been cleaned yet. We hadn't entered the property but were standing at the door as it took some time to find it in the complex. While we were standing there discussing what to do with our stuff for the next 4 hrs she came up & yelled at us for checking in early, which did not happen. She then called the cleaners to come over & get the place ready. She did not allow us to store our bags in the apt & did not provide any suggestions on where we could do that so we ended up sitting on the beach with our luggage for 4 hrs. When we finally did enter the unit, a repair man was trying to fix the screen door & informed us that the previous occupants had been "rough with it". He didn't have the correct part & said he'd return late to fix it. He never did & the screen was loud every time it was opened & closed. When we entered the unit it was dusty, the floors were disgusting & the shower had mold in the grout. The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes & utensils. It was a beautiful view & the neighbors were quiet & very nice. 3 bath towels, 3 hand towels & 1 washcloth was provided. It would have been nice to have more than 1 washcloth for 2 adults for a week. The listing mentioned a beach umbrella & chairs, but there was no umbrella. The bedroom was small, but comfy. The sofa bed was horrible. You could see & feel each & every spring in the mattress & they only supplied 1 fitted sheet & one small fleece blanket. In January, that was not enough. There was no other bedding or blankets in the unit. When the couch is closed, you can see the springs in the cushions through the fabric. The couch really needs to be replaced. The curtains over the sliding door were coming off at the corners & should be rehung or replaced as well. The internet was fast. The water pressure was great, but water heater was too small. No more hot water after just 1 shower. The beach was steps from the door & great for families. We could see breaching whales from shore. The adjacent public park was quiet & didn't feel unsafe at all. One night out of 6 we could hear people in the park after closing hours screaming at each other which was not ideal. You really need a car to stay here as it's 1/2 a mile from the nearest restaurant or gas station & even further to a grocery store. We'd stay in this complex again, but not this unit.

The apartment next to us (A7) was beeing renovated. They work loudly, till 8pm without machine, this was on Sunday! Monday they started before 8am with a flex machine and hammer!!!! Today we left early, coming home at 7pm, loude noise again. The worker told us, he would work for a couple of hours, but tries not be too loud. How are we supposed to relax and enjoy our holidays?????
Additionally, it was marked there would be free parking space. It was only the disabled one left. We were told to go away from there. Air condition out of order, some ventilators I stead.
In the pool there are heeps of Mauian Kids playing, coming over from the public beach, as they told us proudly, so no quietness either.
And by the way: in the Italian coffee Maschine was all mould! (see pic🤮🤢) and the Toilette smells very bad from u....)

I loved how close we were to the beach! Condo had a welcoming gift upon our arrival. Great outside sitting area. Outside is well taken care of, rooms clean but a little update on furniture would be nice. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Gorgeous views!

We were able to get the sunrise over the mountains every day, the beach is in eyes view with easy access at all times, in fact as I right this review on our last day here I am sitting on the porch with the sun on my face and the most amazing sounds of the ocean and tropical birds all around. It truly feels like a little paradise away from home. The room is a very comfortable size, very clean. We had four girls stay here with two on the pull out couch which is surprisingly comfortable and the other two on the queen in the bedroom. The kitchen is perfect, we thought we wouldn’t use it much, but turned out it was much needed for breakfast and if we decided to stay in for a night to save some money. Overall it was an excellent stay, would recommend and would probably book again if I were to come back some day lol.

Well equipped one-BR apartment at ground level. Living room and patio have a distant sea-view. Good bathroom and kitchen (in living room). Location at end of beach road, directly on the ocean. Smallish pleasant pool, loungers on the grass close to the sea. Long sandy beach (can be quite rough) and protected area begin close by. Some noise from parking lot and visitors to the beach (during WE there were several tents with big families/groups of friends next to the compound). And the flight path for landing at OGG airport from the West passes right above the buildings, with older jets being rather noisy. Nevertheless overall a great place to stay and discover Maui. Not many shopping opportunities nearby, but some good restaurants. A car is highly recommended.

Very clean upon arrival with a little welcome gift from Vacasa. It's our 2nd time renting this unit and 4th time at Makana A Kai. The condo is well equipped for cooking and preparing meals. We like the location because its not crowded and its the last building before Haycraft Park and a long sandy beach with very little people. But be aware that the lanai gives on the park. The park can be noisy especially during the weekends when people come camping and celebrating in the park. The noise usually stops around 9PM and starts at 7AM. Aside that the AC in the condo is also a bit noisy, so we managed most of the time with the fan and opening the bedroom window to get a breeze. The washer/dryer are in the common building and they now have an app to pay and start the machines.

My stay was great. Was very easy check into the property. Everything was very clean and ready for my arrival. The only downfall I have is the upstairs people were so loud all times of the day, but other than that great stay would def come back

Owners did a nice job with renovations of the condo. Appliances and furniture all relatively new, floors, countertops, bathroom fixtures all nice and new as well. Nice little lanai with view of the ocean. This unit is not the very first unit that is the closest to the beach, but the way the building are laid out, every unit has a nice view so it really doesn’t matter. Literally steps from the beach and the pool. The best part is that this property is at the end of a dead end road next to a park, so there is little traffic and no one just passing through. The park is public, but we didn’t notice any excessive noise, partying, etc. If you want a nice peaceful getaway that’s still close to many of the nice restaurants, resorts, etc., but don’t want to deal with traffic and crowded beaches, then this is the place. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our recent stay and would recommend this condo to anyone wanting a quiet beachfront getaway, that’s still close to Kihei. The complex is at the end of a dead end street, adjacent to a park, so there’s little traffic. The beach was never crowded and you can walk for miles heading East. Everything in the condo was relatively new; nice furniture, appliances, etc. Coffee maker was a little old, so if you’re a coffee snob, I would recommend bringing a press or pour over, but there is a grinder available. Overall, very nice property and condo, would definitely stay here again.

We always try to rent in this condo complex because it’s well located and well managed.
Because of the adjacent public park, it gets lively with local folks and music during opening hours.
The condo was in great shape, just a couple of things to address: the sofa bed is too uncomfortable for adults and the ceiling fan in the living room is not well balanced and swings hard at full speed, so you need to bring it to minimum speed to avoid swaying.
Aside that it was very clean and equipped will all needed kitchenware to cook meals.

Saltwater pool and beautiful beach right outside the door. The beach is quiet and never crowded. Safe for children. Turtles often seen. Unit met our needs and was well-kept. Bed and futon chair were comfortable. The pull out couch bed not so much. Would be helpful if there was a foam topper to lay on it. Small public park adjacent to this unit. There’s a hedge separating the two and the park was lightly used by local families. Centrally located between Kihei (4 miles away),Lahaina, and Wailuku. Be sure to try the Mill House restaurant about 4 miles towards Wailuku. They also have great coffee in the morning that they roast themselves. Also we recommend going up to Makawao, and be sure to check out the little eco-friendly boutique Fleur de Lei. Would stay here again.

Can’t beat the central location or the view. Nice and quite and great beach. The condo itself could be better stocked, No glass cleaner, no dry agent for the dishwasher, only one liner for garbage in the bathroom , one paper towel roll and no mop to clean the floors with, regular dish washer soap was limited!. I do not mind cleaning at all. However that’s hard to when there is no equipment to tackle the job with. No laundry basket ( we were instructed to leave towels in the basket) , so I think there is room for improvement.
