We love this resort, walking distance to our favorite coffee + cinnamon rolls, dinner + groceries. The room itself is decent, the bed is truly one of the most comfortable sleeps we’ve experienced away from home.

Place was exactly what the pictures portrayed. Very clean rooms and whole resort. Lawn and landscaping is very well kept. Great views from the room. Nice quiet area to be and relax.

We thought it was super convenient, you do need a car to get around but the ABC store is just right off the property which is nice. The only downside was its advertised as a beach front resort. Beautiful views of the sea but you do have to walk down to other resorts that are beach front. No sandy area to chill, water is all rocky. Pools are small and crowded

I love the fact that we could do water aerobics just like I could do at home in the pool 20 feet away, and a view of the ocean.

Papakea is a lovely resort. When we checked in, the room was clean with the acception of someone leaving dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The room is right above the water fountain and it’s nice to hear the water in the background while you go to sleep. The tv is small and the remote is confusing. The amenities have restrictive times but the views of the ocean is amazing. Would recommend staying here next time.

The unit was an economical way to visit paradise for either one or two people. Sitting on the lanai looking out across the channel at Molokai and lingering over breakfast or dinner ….life doesn’t get any better !

We've stayed here before in other units- so we knew what to expect. Older condos that have been mostly refurbished- with 2 pools and hot tubs, with great ocean views. Convenient location. Love this place.

Check in is too late. Made us wait until 4 to check in. The place should have been much cleaner especially if they had that much time to clean and prepare the place. Other than that it was a good place to stay, we really enjoyed it.

The office did not have any record of my reservation and said they could not confirm it because it was a weekend. Check in was delayed and I had to email my confirmation to be able to check in. Otherwise the room was good and the view was beautiful. Good location and fulfilled the needs of our stay.

The condo was fine but the pull out bed is very worn and uncomfortable. Condo needs a few updates.

We had a four family reunion at Papakea. There were beautifully finished units and average finished units for virtually the same price, this was an average finished Studio, not a 1 bedroom. The dishwasher was non-operational for our stay, and the unit only had 3 beach towels. It would have been nice to have a fourth towel when we asked for a four person unit. Grounds were great and location was excellent. Finally, There we’re so many taxes and fees that the stated cost per night was virtually double the stated rate.

The Papakea Resort is a great location. Walking location to some Kaanapali beaches, close to black cliff rock, and great for a quick grocery walk at ABC store. Also close to some popular restaurants like Maui Fish Market. Down sides, I thought there was going to be a full tub, but it's definitely a standing shower. The first night we checked in we rinsed our feet and noticed the tub wasn't draining, but at 7:30pm it was just a security guy working the front desk that didn't quite understand what we were saying. I emailed vacasa and they were quick to respond the following day. We were out on the road to Hana, so we gave them permission to enter the room without us there to fix it. Another downside and probably why the drain was clogged, the first time we used the laundry machine my clothes came out with so much sand (we hadn't come near a beach yet), so I'm sure it's leftover from the previous renters. Also note, with the bamboo curtains, it's not really private from downstairs we could totally see inside with the lights on through the slits of the curtains. The location is great and with covid we did a lot of take out meals and ate them on the balcony for a great view. The resort was decorated for the holidays which was cute as well. The room does provide internet and cable and we bought our own detergent for the laundry and coffee and creamer for the coffee maker. It's good for two people (i know you can opt for 4) but the surf board dining table is really just good for two people. $17/day resort fee for parking, but we were able to park right in front of our room. We didn't get a chance to utilize the tennis court, putting green, or shuffleboard but there were two large pools and hot tubs. I do believe there are a lot of kids on the resort, the balcony/bed is right next tot he pond and putting green so we woke up every morning to screaming children but that couldn't be helped. Also on one of the nights we couldn't tell if it was the people next door or upstairs but they were hammering or knocking for hours (also not the fault of Vacasa) but it makes me think the walls are thin. Per reviews, looks like the house used to provide a lot more boogie boards and snorkels, but we had two towels and one boogie board. Thankful for the laundry machines we washed the towels daily.

We LOVED our stay at Papakea. Parking was an additional amount per day that you pay when you arrive, but it was worth it to have close by parking always available. We didn't use many of the amenities besides the pool, but it looked like there was a lot of stuff to do around the complex. The views from the lanai were stunning and there is a nice little patio table and chairs for meals outside. The complex was pretty quiet even though it seemed to be full of people. Everyone was very respectful around us. AC is loud, but works beautifully for those hot days/nights. Kitchen is perfectly stocked with all the pans/essentials (except they were out of coffee filters for our visit...but we bought a big pack for the next round of guests!). The shower was a little underwhelming and pretty small, but it definitely wasn't an issue. The beach right in front is not really accessible as it's just a sea wall, but you can walk to nearby beaches. It was so nice to lounge right next to the sea wall and be by the ocean! Vacasa makes it easy to communicate via text and they are pretty prompt with their response too. Easy check in / check out. We can't wait to come back and stay.

Expensive for what you get. Advertised at $286/night but with resort fees, booking fees, cleaning fees, taxes, ended up at $450/night. The beach chairs were rusted and broken, umbrella small and cheap, no dish soap, one bar of shower soap, old/outdated shower, sloppy interior paint job. I would give this 5 stars at $200/night.

Property was very well-kept the condo had all of the amenities that were needed and was very pleasantly appointed. The location was excellent as it is by many restaurants and grocery stores that are within walking distance. The staff was very kind and caring. I would recommend this to someone that wants to just come and relax and enjoy the best of Hawaii
