BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to heavy surf, strong currents and tides. Due to Maui’s rural atmosphere you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them.

IMPORTANT: Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

**We make no guarantee that properties adjacent to the Unit will be free from disturbances, including but not limited to noise or inconvenience from construction, traffic or other guests or neighbors. Any such disturbance shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

Stayed in Papakea D108 for a 12 day family trip with our 18m old and 6yo. The pool was perfect for kids and my daughter enjoyed playing golf with her dad. We participated in the lei making class and had a blast! The condo is located right next to the front office and parking was never an issue. You can walk to the ABC store to get last minute items and wine. The grounds crew kept the resort immaculate and were always very friendly. D108 was clean, had plenty of kitchen items and stocked well with beach gear necessities. The AC cooled off the living room and a fan kept the bedroom fairly cool. The shower head in the shower was a bit low for my husband who is over 6ft. If you are a tall person I could see this being an issue. We grilled a few nights and never had a problem getting a grill. We will definitely stay at Papakea again.

Great bottom floor unit with easy pool and beach access. Unit is up to date and had everything we needed and more! There were a few things that could make it even better though. The bedroom was pretty warm at night whether the windows were open or the A/C was on, couldn’t get the room to cool down. Maybe a stand up fan in the hall to draw in cool air to the room would work. The bed itself could be a little more comfy, it was kinda stiff and cheap feeling. A mattress pad would probably make a huge difference. The shower head definitely needs to be replaced with an updated version that accommodates taller people, and the shower valve has a constant drip. Also the kitchen sink drains very slow and could use a drain cleaning possibly. Other than that, this unit it beautiful and couldn’t ask for a better place to stay in Maui! The beach was great and never crowded and the resort crew was always friendly and working hard to keep everything clean. We did notice a propane like smell whenever we were at the pool and spa, and notified a crew member but the smell remained. Would recommend this location to anyone. It’s close to lots of great restaurants and fun activities!

This property is very outdated, the bathroom needs a total overhaul. The kitchen was not very well equipped. We had to ask for another set of towels as there was only three sets for 4 people. We never could get the TV to work. There was mold in the kitchen where the backsplash meets the counter top. The flooring needs to be replaced. The hide a bed has a terrible mattress on it. All in all I would not recommend staying here. There are other condo's on the property that are updated and would be a better value.

Our stay was wonderful. We are long time visitor’s to Maui. Papakea is our favorite location. We had not been in 7 year and what a delightful stay. Our room was great other than I was not happy with the checking in at 4:00pm process. We come from Washington state and it makes for a long day . Getting into Maui at 11:30am and not being able to check in until 4:00pm was difficult to keep our food cold from Costco we bought for the week. We would told at the front desk it is for cleaning purposes.. yet when we got to the room I noticed black dirt fingerprints all over the bathroom door the first thing my eyes went to upon entering the room. The bathroom felt dirty. I used la makeup wipe and cleaned it well. I’m extremely happy with our room and the location other than the bathroom and the dirty drapes in our room. If they needed that long to clean there so be no noticeable dirty fingerprints on the white bathroom door . I know the drapes are not cleaned every visit and they are often not used but ours looks as through there was blood or ketchup on them. You would not know this unless you fully closed the drapes.. With the check in being so late you would assume these things are well checked and taken care of. That being said our room was nice. Loved the view. Our stay was great. My family would definitely stay here again .

The room was nice , roaches everywhere toilet broke and the shower was clogged. We had so much fun in Hawaii it didn’t really matter to us at the time. The roach problem was pretty gross

I recently stayed at this property and I must say it was absolutely beautiful. It felt very beachy and everything was upgraded. We loved being on the main level, as it was easy access to get everywhere. This property was close to everything, beaches, shops, restaurants and the organic market which I highly recommend any one of their fruit bowls. We will definitely be coming back :) Thank you for such a lovely stay!

We loved staying here. The condo had everything you would need if you were at home. My kids loved the bunk beds. The water pressure in the shower was great to wash the salt water off of you. The property management keeps the grass and greenery up very well. We got to watch them trim off the dead palm fronds, which was cool to watch. It's a lovely walk around the property. We didn't use the pool so I can't speak for that. But we walked to the water and watched the sunset. There is food, Shave ice, dole whip and a grocery store within walking distance (across the street). You have to try L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. That was my favorite food on the whole trip.
