Great trip and exactly as we expected. Location is terrific and waterfront patio was incredible. Unit is on the top floor, AC worked great and the condo was well stocked with paper items, etc. I’d love to see some nicer bedsheets, warmer lighting in the bathroom and lounge chairs on the patio, but that’s just my bougie side coming out. ;) Thanks for a great stay!

It was an ok place to stay. It wasn’t the cleanest, hair in the shower drain and the outside of the toilet wasn’t clean (they just need a new cleaning service). My husband mentioned it and he doesn’t ever see things like that so that tells you a lot. The furniture was a little dated - it just needs updated furniture. We went to another apartment in the same complex (a friend stayed there) and it was really nice and up to date. The location is great for restaurants and shopping but there were a ton of homeless people in that area. Overall it was an ok stay.

Owner was very thorough re providing a book with operations of all things in the condo as well as things to do in the area. Very responsive to text messages and providing binoculars and a telescope to observe all the ocean activity. Great view of the ocean. Unit styled in a old HawAii style with all amenities.

The views were excellent, right on the water. We had coffee and cocktails on the lanai. Everything we needed was in the condo. We walked into town for shopping and dinner. We drove around the island for tours of coffee farms and art shops. It was quiet and relaxing.

This property was great, had a minor hiccup but it was addressed swiftly and resolved. The unit was perfect for the two of us. Beautiful mornings on the lanai with coffee looking over the ocean. Close proximity to manta ray snorkeling and one of our favorite beaches magic sands. Would book this unit again!

The condo was in a perfect location to walk to shops and restaurants, and to run along the water.
It was stocked with everything we needed, from beach chairs and coolers, to having an ice maker in the fridge.

We have stsyed here before and are planning on returning! Condo has everything you need for the beach encluding beach chairs, umbrella and snorkeling gear. It is convenient to town and some really good snorkling beaches.

This is such a fabulous location on the beach and easy walk into Kona not on the main road. The unit is well stocked with everything even condiments and paper goods. It’s clean and nicely decorated. The owners r helpful and responsive. Just a wonderful stay.

What a wonderful location! We loved starting each day by drinking our Kona coffee on the lanai. We opted to sleep in the living room so we could listen to the ocean all night. Host was easy to communicate with and left detailed instructions and suggestions.

We loved our one week stay at this property in June of 2022. We loved spending time on the lanai, listening to the waves, and watching the surfers and boogie boarders. It was always a treat to have our breakfasts and other meals with a stunning ocean view. All of the amenities we needed were present, and this home is a very comfortable one. The property is an easy walk to the market and restaurants. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on another trip to the Big Island!

We enjoyed our stay in this unit at the Kona Reef. Communicating with the owner was easy and she was available via text during our stay.. The condo is great, and the view is spectacular. We enjoyed dining on the lanai, and loved our many evenings watching sunset after gorgeous sunset. Kona is an easy short walk away and we strolled to the bay and toured to different places from this great location. Thank you!

Amazing place to stay! The unit was immaculately clean, it was comfortable and welcoming. Hosts were fantastic. Loved having their recommendations and stories. It was very helpful and we used some of their suggestions. Having coffee every morning on the balcony started the days off right and then they ended in the same place watching the sunset during dinner. We could not have had a better stay! Will 1000% recommend to friends/family!!

The pictures don't do justice to this condo. Great location; easy walk to town with shops and restaurants. Well maintained. AC and washer dryer in the condo. Kitchen well equipped. Awesome lanai with great views. You're right here on top of the ocean. Doesn't get much better. Parking was easy, check in a breeze.

Sunsets were amazing and loved that the locals gathered to blow their conch shells at the pool once the sun was no longer visible. Watched whales from the lanai and saw brightly colored fish close to shore. We appreciate the well supplied kitchen including dish washing gloves! The grills appeared to be new and clean by the pool. It was nice to have a washer and dryer with very detailed instructions. I walked to shopping and lunch while the husband fished. There was plenty of storage in the bath and bedroom. It was a great experience.

Kona Reef is a great complex for location and amenities, and D-36 couldn't have been better. Very nicely furnished and equipped, lots of beach toys, and a view that can't be beat. Sunsets viewed from the lanai were perfectly framed by palm trees. Our host, Ailin, was helpful in every way. It was a wonderful vacation.

This condo was perfect. We will love to go back ! The location is perfect in that you can walk into town for breakfast or for happy hour. Most condos are far from town but this condo is the first condo on the way out of town. The lanai overlooks the water and a person could stay all day watching for whales and dolphins and turtles that come up to the rocks. We got married so this was a perfect honeymoon place. The decorations of the condo were “ classy and upscale”- it was worth every penny we spent to stay here! Our flight was delayed and the owner was not able to have us stay and others were coming in but she asked other condo owners and showed a lot of empathy and that was kind of her. You will love this place as we did!!!

The condo is exactly as described. I enjoyed the sunsets from the lanai, and the location was close to everything we wanted to do.
The kitchen has a great set of knives and good cookware, I haven’t always had that experience when I rented condos! Everything you may need is there, just stop by the store for groceries and your good to go!
The property manager/owner communicates with you before and after check-in to make sure your satisfied. We were and we didn't have any other needs.
We would highly recommend staying here!

The view from this property's patio is everything you would ever want. The unit is clean, up to date, has everything you need, close to restaurants and shops, quiet and again the VIEW! Very nice to travel 3000 miles and have a property that supplies an umbrella, beach chairs, and beach towels.

Our experience was exceptional from the time we made our reservation to check-in and check-out. The condo was in the perfect location. It was close to shopping, beaches (be sure to check out the hidden gem 4 miles away at Alula Beach), and dining. It’s very easy to take day trips to Waimea, Hilo, or Volcanoes National Park. The condo had the perfect balcony for sunsets, a well-equipped kitchen, and air conditioning. We started planning our return trip on Day 1. I highly recommend this condo and Ailin’s wonderful hospitality!

Wow! This place really impresses, having our own slice of the sunset each night was great. We also really enjoyed the proximity to town and the nice walk along the ocean we could take each way. The condo building itself is a bit dated, but this unit has been newly renovated and is very comfortable. We hope to come back and stay here again!
