My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at Marianne’s condo! I have been to the Whaler dozens of times, but this was my first time staying in tower one. The condo is updated, has a wonderful view, and it was apparent Marianne cares about her property. It's one of the nicest condo's I've stayed in at the Whaler. We would happily stay here again!

The view from the lanai was excellent! It’s a spacious, clean, well furnished studio that was just right for the two of us. We especially liked the super comfortable king bed. The kitchen was well provisioned, and the walk in closet with built in shelves and drawers easily contained all our clothes. Would definitely stay here again!!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and it was everything we expected snd more. The condo is perfectly located right on Kaanapali Beach next to Whalers Village. The condo was very comfortable for a couple and everything we wanted. Nice sized kitchen and bathroom with plenty of storage. We did all the typical tourist things which i will not bore you with other than to say we loved them all. We are not sure when we will be back but we would definitely stay here again. We’ve been staying at The Whaler for many years and this was the first time we’ve stayed in this unit. It is extremely clean and well cared for. Loved the beautiful custom cabinets both in the kitchen and in the closet. Beautiful view off the balcony. Looking at the black rock. Tommy Bahama beach chairs and small cooler provided which is an added treat these days as many owners don’t provide them anymore. The bed was very comfortable with high-quality linens. Everything about this unit was exceptional. The owner is very easy to contact and work with and takes pride in her unit. We will definitely be staying here again for many years to come! We had a great time at the condo at the Whaler in #814, clean, comfortable and great view! Bed was comfortable! Only thing and this is just being a preference is would be nice to have some non-stick pans for cooking, foil, and a sponge for cleaning dishes. But cooler was great to have and beach chairs. Overall 5 stars and would definitely come back again!

The best location on Kaanapali Beach. Close to restaurants, peaceful beach and steps away from any activity you would like to try surfing, jet ski. and for lunch break great restaurants either way down the boardwalk.

Owners were easy to contact if we needed them and checked on us mid-stay. Loved the spacious closet area which stored all our belongings out of sight! Fabulous views from the lanai! We loved our stay at The Whaler. The condo was absolutely perfect, and had everything we needed. Great views of the ocean and Black Rock from the lanai. The beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler were definitely a plus for the several days we spent at the beach and snorkeling at Black Rock. Super comfy bed too! Kaanapali Beach is an ideal location and The Whaler has been our favorite place to stay for many years. All the onsite amenities including concierge services and free parking are a definite plus. Marianne's studio was perfect with an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean and Black Rock from the lanai. The bed was large and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked allowing for making meals if you choose. It is also right next door to Whaler Village with many shops and great restaurants. Thank you Marianne for the hospitality.

Our condo at the Whaler was great. The view was fantastic overlooking the ocean and Black Rock! The sounds of the waves crashing against the shore every night was wonderful to fall asleep to. Our king size bed was so comfortable we slept great! All the amenities in the condo and available on the grounds made our vacation extra special! We will definitely go back!

We didn't arrive until almost midnight and we're concerned about check in. No issues. The front desk had already prepared a check in package. Room was very clean and everything was in work order. Essentials were stocked in pantry. Throughout our stay all the staff were helpful and courteous. The owners even worked with us on a last minute late check out. Best Vrbo experience ever.

This condo had everything you need. It was in a great location with a beach right there and plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We see whales from the balcony. You had a free laundry very close. Very clean with a full kitchen and utensils/accessories. Marianne was super responsive and informative. Would not hesitate to use this property again for a future visit!

My husband and I just got married in April 2021 but held off going on our honeymoon due to Covid restrictions. We love Maui. This was our first time staying in a condo. We typically stay in resorts but we couldn't be more pleased with this condo. It had everything we needed, the views were awesome, the condo complex was clean and beautiful, etc. We had our coffee and breakfast most mornings on the lanai, watching the waves crash on the beach. It was a fantastic 10 days and we can't wait to return.

This rental is so much nicer in person than the pictures show! The condo has everything you need to stay comfortably for many days. The grounds of the resort are immaculate and beach access is super convenient. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Also several sunset cocktail cruises launch a 5 minute walk away. Most of all I will miss the spectacular purple and pink sunsets from the balcony. Highly recommend!

Truly a great place. About as close as you can get to whalers village where there is shopping and great restaurants. It’s a short elevator ride down and about 6 rooms down from the beach. Everything you need for a beach day is right there in the room (chairs, umbrella, ice chest). The patio doors open both ways, so the whole place opens up to an ocean view and the sounds of crashing waves. Can’t wait to visit again.

Our 1st time to Maui was made all the better by a great place to stay. We found the condo to be in excellent condition with a modern kitchen, very comfortable bed and lovely view. The Whalers is located just North of Lahaina with an easy drive into town. The beach walk is the walk is the best.

I have been coming to the Whalers Condos now for about 6 years, and this is the first time I have had my own space. WOW,WOW. I so enjoyed it. Everything was beautiful, the kitchen had everything you could need, the towels were very nice and plenty of them. The linens were top notch. The view of black rock is fantastic. This of course was my opinion. I was so happy with the condo and location, that I am coming back next year and the years after as long as I can. Just down right the best. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven.

I have been coming to Hawaii for over 10 years, it is my place to relax and rejuvenate. The condo is perfect after a day of exploring the island or going to the beach. The owner has been very thoughtful in providing full kitchen equipment, beautiful linens, fluffy towels and high end furnishings. Had a wonderful trip...this place is a winner! My fiancé and I stayed here for 10 days in April 2014. We had a fabulous stay in this apartment. It was updated and clean with a well-equipped kitchen. The bed was super comfortable and it just felt very inviting. We loved the view from the lanai and spent many evenings watching the sunset out there. The whaler doesn't have many amenities (just a basic pool and hot tub area) but the staff was very nice and the grounds were always clean. You can walk from this apartment five minutes along the ocean and you're at Whaler's Village where there are some great restaurants and shops. The restaurants are expectedly touristy, but the view and ease is worth it. We rented a car and loved having this place as our home base. Kaanapali Beach is amazing and I would definitely recommend staying in this area--especially at this apartment!

The condo was great, beautiful view both directions, ocean & mountains.
Condo came equipped with almost everything you would need. Umbrella (broken) only 1 sand chair and a couple boogie boards.Hair dryer was also broken.
Kitchen fully equipped. Condo decorated nicely and very clean. Bed very comfy.
Regarding location, Whalers Village was great! Absolutely beautiful beach, pool area nice. We never needed a car except when we went zip lining (rode with relatives). At first really wanted to stay at a resort, dining, bar etc. but Whalers Village is right next door with wonderful restaurants and bar areas, loved Hula Grill! Sneak over to the Westin wonderful pool area (they don't check room keys)
Now the down side...
Owner not helpful at all. I had lots of family staying at the condo's and the owners of their condo's helped with recommendations, suggestions etc, I never got an email back after twice asking for suggestions, guess not her job, but would have been nice, maybe she could just write a generic one to send out...
The worst thing....The building next door is low so does not block your views of black rock which is great, BUT their air conditioning units ran non stop and were VERY loud! We could not leave our slider open and sitting on the patio was SOOOO noisy; humming and vibrating, ugh! Luckily we were gone alot, but evening and mornings so disappointing not to sit on balcony for coffee or a glass of wine....
I know the condo owner couldn't do anything about that, but I wouldn't stay there again due to the noise (our family stayed on the court yard side and was sooo peaceful).
The condo was very reasonably priced for what you get, it is a beautiful unit.

A studio with a fabulous view! The whaler is in a great location right on the beach and close to all the activities offered in Kaanapali.
The studio itself has an attractive kitchen but two days in to my 3 week stay the stove stopped working and never got fixed. The bathroom as a previous reviewer stated is tired. The location of the unit is right beside the elevators so you do get to hear your neighbors coming and going. Generally a nice unit and very clean,Maui regular but not quite as nice as the writeup had me thinking it would be.

The location of the Whaler is absolutely perfect for enjoying the pleasures of the Kaanapali Beach area. Directly in front of the Whaler towers is an incredible beach area for lounging with excellent restaurants just a minute walk down to Whalers Village. Access to some terrific, albeit busy, snorkeling at Black Rock is just a few minutes walk down the beach.
The condo itself was great and everything we needed. It was a good size for a couple. It had a great set up and was very clean and in good condition. The view of Black Rock from the patio is beautiful. We would definitely stay again.

This is my seventh trip to the Whaler, although my first to this unit. I don't believe you can beat this location, particularly if you stay in this tower. The proximity to Whalers Village and Lahaina is unbeatable.
This unit is configured so the view from the bed is of the West Maui mountains, rather than Black Rock and the ocean, but the view from the lanai is stunning. The kitchen is newer and very functional, the bathroom is clean but tired and the bed was definitely on the firm side. Never could get the Wifi to work, but I was able to get on another unsecured feed one floor above.
Parking is only $12.50 a day, the gym is basic but adequate, and the outdoor BBQs are situated with the best view of the beach!

Every trip to Maui was to kihei/wailea and am I every glad we chose kaanapali instead! The challenge was locating the perfect condo. We could not have ended up at a better location. Being south of black rock is crucial as being north in some of the other condos require a car for everything. Thankfully, The Whaler is right next to Whaler's village which has some small quaint shops. Specially wandering out for a frozen yogourt or Haagen daaz in the evenings was lovely. Or just needing a bandaid etc...there was also some good retail like Louis Vuitton and coach if you feel you need you "wailea fix".
Now, as for the condo. We could not have been more pleased. The building next door is short which is important to mention as you really do get sweeping views from this unit which would not happen on the other side of the tower. We spend our happy hours on the deck watching the whales frolick.
The mattress quality was excellent. Sadly this is usually my complaint on travels as we have spoiled ourself at home and only the four seasons and ritz compares but the mattress allowed us to enjoy wonderful sleeps with the patio doors wide open all night.
The suite was very well appointed with most of what we could ask for for the meals we prepared with a full size sub zero fridge and large walk in closet and storage.
There were even coolers for day trips and beach chairs and an umbrella. We left behind out brand new air mattresses for others's use.
The decor was well appointed and very clean. We were extremely comfortable at this condo. We would definitely recommend it to friends. For a studio it was quite large and we still had a good sitting area and desk to work at and four person kitchen table.
By the way, great restaurants to try in lahaina are :mala. Brilliant organic foods and complex flavour combinations and fleetwood's: excellent food quality and preparation, suitable for families
The only items I would suggest if I may would be: BBQ utensils (or at least just a set of BBQ thongs), plastic closed cups for taking beverages down to pool/ beach/ BBQ area, a few more facecloths (there were only 2 for each person which get stinky after a day each so we were doing laundry on day 3), and a second set of sheets (when staying eight nights without housekeeping you need to change sheets at least once and it would have been nice to not have to wait to laundry to remake the bed).
These are minor things that would make this suite a 10.
