This condo was and looked just like listing described. Unfortunately the washer was broken but there was washer on site to use ( quarters required) but the dryer was working fine. The beds are not very comfortable the futon in living room was the most comfortable bed. Bring extra towels there is not enough. I did bring extra and washed a load while we were at the property. You walk right out the patio door and a couple 100 feet and the ocean is there. There is plenty to door near the condo in walking distance food, shopping and bike rentals which was super fun. We would definitely stay here again.

This condo is comfortable, clean and is within a few steps to the ocean! It has been stocked with pretty much everything you'll need for an enjoyable stay. With 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, the price is totally reasonable! It's located in Kapa'a within walking distance of many shops and places to eat. The resort has an amazing list of activities; pool, hot tub, exercise room, outdoor bbq grills to use, games including outdoor chess, tennis, croquet, putting green, and more, along with beautiful landscape, koi pond and waterfall......and of course, the chickens!! The host, Bryan, is easy to work with and keeps you informed of any important details. Thanks again, Bryan!

Very well-maintained and equipped for a fun and relaxing vacation for all ages. It has every amenity we need. One minor exception is that we could not connect the TV in the master bedroom. However, the one in the living room worked well. We appreciate the beautiful welcome gifts, too. Future guests will be very comfortable in this unit.

The condo is in an ideal location. It accommodated our large group. The however is that it jacked some basics like enough towels and towels for the pool. It did have good each gear - chairs, umbrella etc.

Condo was perfect for our family vacation. Well equipped with furniture, kitchen utensils & beach supplies!! Having a washer/dryer in the unit was great for towels & clothes!

Nice location near shopping and beach. Kitchen well equipped. Washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher pluses. Lani a plus. Decor is dated and living room furniture uncomfortable. Insufficient plug ins for phones and devices. Musty smell throughout unit.

Location of this condo is FANTASTIC. The layout of this condo is great for a family. Basic supplies were not adequate for our family. WE are a Family of 5 with 3 teenagers (19-14) (which the owner knew as we needed to specify it when booking) but there was not enough bath towels for us to have a shower. Luckily we were able to launder them with the in house machines, but definitely not enough for us. Also, there were not any tea-towel or wash clothes in the kitchen for us to hand wash dishes. We ended up using ALOT of paper towels, which was a complete waste of money. The a/c units in the living room and bedroom did NOT work at all. We are not a family that would complain about these sort of things, and we just lived with it for the week that we booked. I wasn't going to post this negative review as I did message the condo owner and let him know our concerns over a week ago, and I have received no email back from him. I would stay at Pono Kai again, but I really would think about renting this unit again.

Overall a super place and enjoyable stay. There were a few Minor Issues:
1. Dishwasher full of dirty dishes and not started prior to arrival.
2. TV in master bedroom not working. Cable or connection issue?
3. Owner closest open and not locked.
4. At check in, the office was unaware of our stay.
5. Ant problem in kitchen, treatment during stay did NOT eradicate problem.

Ideal location to explore Kauai. Not oceanfront but 30 second walk to see most amazing sunrises.
Spacious living with a comfortable bed in Master and hard mattress in second bedroom.
The unit is in need of major updates. Sitting surfaces are badly worn. We covered them with bedspreads. A 32 in. TV in the 21st Century?
Everything worked. It had Air Cond. but wasn’t needed. WiFi good.
We had a problem with ghost ants in the kitchen. Called the desk and were told it is a privately owned unit and to call our provided contact. She suggested using vinegar to keep them away.
We called our cleaner but she was no help.
We were told by an exterminator that the ants probably live within the wall and come out around the electrical connections.
So if you book, stop at Safeway on the way in and buy some vinegar. Use it liberally, it works.

Great location, very comfortable, a/c was awesome! There were beach chairs, boogie boards, etc which was nice to use. The grounds were beautiful! The ocean is so close!

This was everything we imagined and more, especially for the price. If I had one complaint it would be that the grill we were using ran out of gas in the middle of cooking dinner. I realize I could have remedied this thru the resort desk but we were so tired and hungry from our fun filled day we just finished cooking on our kitchen stove. This was no big deal at all and we would gladly stay here again and again. We couldn't believe we were able to walk out our patio door to the beach, coffee in hand, and watch the sunrise SO close! Glorious! Thank you for making our family vacation a wonderful one!

We always enjoy staying in this condo. It hasn’t been remodeled recently, but it’s comfortable and we love the location and access to all the things we like and want in the resort and on the island. Bryan, thanks for letting us share your condo for another wonderful Kauai vacation with our family.

This condo is spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Kapaa and close to beautiful beaches, including Baby Beach which is perfect for young children. The service was excellent. Due to flight delays, we arrive at the 2:30am local time and still had no problem checking in. Also, we were traveling with an infant and Bryan made sure there was a Pack and Play in the unit when we arrived. We can't wait to return.

This condo has been super to stay at when we have been on Kauai. It is in the center of the island and close to downtown Kapaa. The condo itself is very clean and has everything that you need for your stay. We enjoy working with the owners. They have been very nice to us. We will use this condo again.

We love staying on the island of Kauai and at the Pono Kai. The condo was very comfortable and had everything we could ever need. This 2-bdrm condo is roomy and comfortable. It is on the ground level - easy access for anyone of any age. Washer/dryer and kitchen amenities were wonderful. Our family really enjoyed all the outdoor games and equipment available (bocce, croquet, volleyball, shuffle board, pool, and hot tub) on the property. The outdoor barbeque grills are wonderful. Fresh herbs available in the herb garden - so nice! We also enjoyed the beach supplies provided by the condo (beach chairs, beach towels, sand mats, cooler, boogie board, and other water/sand toys). Would highly recommend this unit.

We had a great stay at your condo, the place was very comfortable and the people that run the resort really are helpful in taking care of scheduling details. They make doing reservations at restaurants, helicopter rides and luaus a breeze. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your place.

Just back from my first visit to Kauai and really enjoyed your spacious condo with all its amenities. The washer/dryer was perfect as we did a lot of swimming and other activites. While there is no beach front access, there is a "baby beach" to the right of the condo and a walkable beach to the left. A surfing/body boarding beach is a about a five min car ride going North on Kuhio highway. Lydegate Park, under 10 min by car (going south), is perfect for shallow snorkeling. Old Kapa'a town offers lots of breakfast/lunch spots frequented by locals. Pono Market is a great place to buy ahi poki, lau lau and other Hawaiian favorites. Grocery shopping can be done at nearby Safeway, Foodland and Big Safe. If you go to Big Safe later in the afternoon, the shave ice at Hawaiian Blizzard is the best! Thanks for making our stay on Kauai a great one!

My wife and I stayed at the Hofheins condo for our honeymoon. It was the most amazing trip I have ever had.
The condo is incredibly comfortable and very well decorated. As it is right next to the beach we would walk out our door and watch the breathtaking sunrise every morning.
The condo is perfectly situated on the east coast. Which makes the drive to any destination on the island just a few short minutes. In fact there is a stunning waterfall and one of the best snorkeling areas only 5 minutes from the condo. Also within 2 minutes of walking are plenty of wonderful restaurants.
Thank you Bryan, Arden, and Farrah for helping us have this experience, which we will never forget.

We had a great stay on the beautiful island of Kauai and it was in great
part because of your condo. It was big enough for our family, centrally located, it was very nice furniture and well equiped kitchen. We had one little glitch and it was
resolved IMMEDIATELY, it was wonderful service. Inside was great, grounds were beautiful, it was all good. I will be recommending it to friends.
