The complex and this condo were perfect our stay. Kona Reef is walking distance from Kona down town to easily try out different restaurants, etc. This particular condo was very nice and right on the ocean. Great views of the surf and surfers.

The view can't be beat, and the location is just as good. The unit is cozy and the perfect size for two - any more than that and it would be too close for comfort. It's decorated for much older visitors. The pool and its amenities are excellent. The bed is uncomfortable - a 3" foam pad on top of the mattress did not do the trick. The furniture is outdated and could use a pick me up but overall, it really was a nice place and we loved spending our 20th anniversary in Kailua-Kona.

Great location with an easy walk into town. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and it was nice to have inside laundry. They even supplied some beach stuff, including sand mats, beach towels, umbrella, chairs, and bougie board. We Absolutely loved the Ocean front patio with an Amazing View of the Ocean. We would love to stay again in the future.

This unit is rented out by a different office than is onsite. They wouldnt hold our bags for a few hours before check in so we had to drag everything with us. I tried to arrange this beforehand and was assured it would not be an issue, however when I arrived i was told it was and the rental company was particularly rude. The women actually onsite wanted nothing to do with us. Overall confusing. It was a good location.

Everything about our stay was wonderful.
For me, I just needed an extra blanket. Since everyone else like to sleep with A/c on. And I wish I would have known our room.was equipped with snorkeling gear. which we brought our own because I when I asked. I was told it didn't have any. Extra unnecessary luggage. Everything else was great. this was our 3 time staying at Kona Reef. Family and friends who came to my Daughters wedding also booked at the KR. definitely our go to spot!

Worth every Penny for our family stay over spring break! The condo had everything you could need for a great stay. Beach chairs and towels and boogey board was a nice surprise to use. We loved our stay. Steps away from the ocean and a beach. Condo was clean and had everything available we needed for our stay. Kitchen was fully equipped. Appreciated the beach chairs and other beach items. We loved the pool and hot tub which were steps from our unit. Location was great! We enjoyed being able to walk to all of the restaurants, nightlife and shops ( about a 10 min walk to the heart of the action). We liked that the unit was ground level, but the down side was there were a lot of people that walk by all hours in the grassy area between our lanai and ocean ( which isn’t very wide), so it didn’t feel very private. We still really enjoyed it! Bed was comfortable but curtains didn’t fully cover windows and with outside lights was too bright for us for sleeping. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would stay again.

Kona Reef is a great property, great location- close to downtown Kona to walk to shops& restaurants, but far enough away from hustle and bustle.
Unit A4 is a great location within property- oceanfront, a great view, privacy, steps away from pool.
Kona Reef is well maintained, well designed and we would be happy to return!

Loved hearing and watching the waves right outside our back door. It was so relaxing!
Great location-just a short walk into town to go to the Farmer's Market during the day or Happy Hour in the evening.

The photos were spot on. The location was amazing for being in the middle of everything. Truly beautiful property. Our only complaint was that they locks changed before 10:45 am instead of 11 am on day of check out even though every email said in bold/capital 11 AM. In the process of loading up our car we got locked out with our phones and wallets still inside the condo. They were very accommodating once we were able to track down the property management company’s phone number and someone in the office let us use their cell phone.

Property is older and quite. But it’s absolutely stunning!! Very romantic, clean, modern. The view is amazing the water is right there, access to a wonderful little beach and tide pools. With a public beach next door over the rocks. Beautiful sunsets from your own private lani. Watch surfers and body surfers sunup to sundown. Watch pods of dolphins play. Boats go by. Very comfortable. Kona coast even left up a wonder soft cooler filled with treats shampoo, and soap. Well stocked kitchen even with spices. Knifes we’re very dull though. Lots of Beach equipment to be used. Never used the pool had to much time exploring the island, or on our lani. Would highly recommend, we had such a amazing stay.

We really didn’t know what to expect because we’ve never been to the Big Island but we knew that Ali’i Drive was a busy place. Our condo did not disappoint! All the busyness was behind us and we saw and heard nothing but the beautiful ocean and its views. The kitchen in the condo had everything we needed, except a pot holder, which I purchased and left there.
Everything was clean and the unit was decorated nicely. There is a bit of wear on the sofa and chair, but honestly we sat out on our lanai most of the time when we were at the condo. It’s a lovely location, very close to town and shops and restaurants if you’re interested in that kind of thing. If you’re not, you can go back to your condo and not even know there’s a busy street behind you. We loved the 10 days we spent there and would definitely return!

We booked this unit for 10 days in August and couldn't be happier. The location is a 1 mile walk to the pier in Kona town, with everything in between an easy walk. Surf just outside the slider, we had daily entertainment with surfers and incredible sunsets. It was a great base to enjoy Kona and the rest of the big island. Exactly as described.

All that needs to be said is the view is worth everything! The location to shopping, eating and entertainment was within walking distance. No need to even rent a car. I will be staying here again if I ever make it back. David, the concierge, booked everything I needed and each experience was perfect.

My husband and I took a trip for our 10-year anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our host was absolutely wonderful reaching out with their concierge service to ensure we had a great trip in Kona. My husband saw a giant pod of dolphins from the patio the first morning we were there and that is just one example of how phenomenal our trip was. We would definitely book again! :)

Overall we had a great stay. Walk to the beach a couple hundred yards. The town was .7 mile to the start of shopping and food. Parking was easy. Pool nice. The Ali 'i rood lead us to everything else on the island.

A-4 is perfectly located on the first floor facing the ocean about fifty feet from the pool and hot tub, which we used several times. The unit was clean and consistent with the pictures. The six minute walk to the shopping and restaurant district was so convenient that we didn’t rent a car, just Uber & Lyft.
Two suggestions for improvement:
1) get rid of the huge TV cabinet blocking the air conditioner. It messes up air flow and contains DVDs which I’m sure nobody watches anymore.
2) make it clear on how to find local and network TV stations. We were there a week and never did figure it out. The instructions in the check-in book did not help.
We had a great time and would definitely stay there again!

Kids loved going into the water in the morning the beach is just steps away, so we could have our coffee with the ocean view! Air conditioner was faulty and they were quick and efficient in changing it out when I called customer service.

Just outside our door was the ocean and we would sit there every morning planning our day as we drank our coffee. The property was close to downtown Kona and even had one of the few public beaches next to the property ... I would stay in this unit on my next visit.

Couldn't get AC unit to work, might have been user error but it wouldn't turn on for us. Didn't bother us though.

The best part of this property is the view from the patio. We saw sunsets each evening, whales, dolphins and surfers. We also enjoyed the quiet pool on the property. The location is in town so everything in town is walkable. The location and views are what caused us to give 5 stars. The complex itself is getting a bit old and there were a few minor blemishes with the condo itself. I assume this is par for the course given the in town location, so this didn’t cause us to lower the rating. It was appreciated that the owners have everything you would need for the beach available for our use. We used the beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling equipment and boogie boards. Some of the best snorkeling on the island is only 10 minutes away. The location and condo views made it very easy to do the things we wanted to do. We had a wonderful week.

Thank you! Your place was beautiful, clean and well stocked, not only in the kitchen but with beach chairs and towels. We were hesitant about paying an extra fee for Kona concierge, but that was well worth it. David contacted us and had suggestions of what to see & do and even booked some excursions for us. We got a call shortly after we arrived to ask how everything was and we told them about the patio door was stiff to move. They sent someone out promptly to fix it. We called later because we were having difficulty getting the cable on to watch the news and the young lady walked us through the various remotes and got us up and running. The waves were great to watch along with the surfers. It was a short walk down to “On the Rocks” that had a great happy hour. We would definitely stay there again in Kona!

This place may possibly be the best location to stay on the island. You are so close to the water that you can hear the waves in the living room with all the windows and doors closed. Fantastic experience. Beautiful view. Clean place. The beach chairs and boogie boards there were handy. The beds were comfortable. We needed extra bedding and the property management brought it right over. Smart TV was fantastic. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. 10 min drive to Walmart, Target, Safeway. 15 min drive to beautiful beaches. Beach next door. Tide pools right out front. Overall Great Experience
