Tom’s place was perfect for our needs…fully equipped kitchen, a patio space that opens right up to the grass/ocean with viewing of turtles and humpbacks daily right from the loungers. Never had an issue finding a parking space and the building was quiet and the lawn space well maintained. We look forward to staying again one day!

The accommodations provided by the host are well furnished and in excellent condition! The building is in good condition, recently painted. The back yard was meticulously groomed and the sunsets off the deck are out of this world! The surf every day was very calming to watch and listen and you’ll see lots of sea turtles. Makani Sands is in a good location with a farmers market and nice shops nearby. There is a lovely pool to enjoy and it is not crowded. The islands make a nice background in the sunset. The property is everything that the description says it is.

There are many options for rental condo's along the west side and for something in this price point and size I highly suggest this one at Makani Sands. Simple straight forward well appointed ground floor condo where you can walk straight out the back door through your lanai to the oceans edge. The property is well maintained so no worries on that end at all. No AC might be a challenge for some as the need for AC there is borderline. It was in the mid 80's all the time we were there in the afternoon and as long as you managed the windows and sun late in the afternoon it was fine. There are a few fans available in the master closet to use to move additional air through if needed when the trade winds are settled. Tom was very responsive in our comunications.

This was our first time visiting the island of Maui.
The location of the condo was in a nice quiet area. Local shopping stores were near by and the condo was easy to find.
I loved everything about the condo. Especially waking up every day to this amazing ocean view.
If I ever go back to Maui, I will definitely stay at Tom's condo again.
Tom was very good at communicating when we would reach out to him.

We came and the place was exactly, if not better than, what we expected. Then the Lahaina fire happened and that’s where our host, Thom, really showed what kind of human he is. He offered us a place to stay, without making a huge deal about anything, was really responsive and helpful. 10000/10000 stars, I will definitely stay here again someday

My mom and I stayed here as a fun girls trip and LOVED this place. There are so many turtles that swim right up to the rocks outside the room and it was so cool! The room was very clean. The location was awesome. Super close to a lot of great places to eat.

Our stay here was great and communication with Tom was excellent. It is a great location convenient to beaches, shopping an restaurants. One thing to be aware of the beach is very nice but at least when we were there only present at low tide. If you were planning on building sand castles all day you’ll need to go down to the big beach (within walking distance). We snorkeled the reef opposite the property and saw some see turtles too. All the amenities were great and someone even left a couple of unfinished bottles in the cupboard for the next guest (adult beverages). Great stay.

Loved, loved, loved waking up every morning to the ocean right outside the back door and going to bed every night to the sound of the waves. This place is amazing! The condo was clean, bed super comfy, and the internet worked great. Appreciated the extra fans, as the unit would get a little stuffy without them. We couldn’t have asked for more. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful. And we really enjoyed walking to the coffee shop and other stores just up the street. Mahalo!

Location was fantastic!! Could view whales sitting on the lanai. Sea turtles swimming right off the beach. Quiet area with a small town feel but shopping available near by. The ocean air flowed freely through the condo and was cool enough to sleep at night. Condo had everything needed for our stay. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!!

Location was perfect for us. Seeing the whales and the turtles from the lanai was great. Close enough to easily get to other areas on the island, and the local shops and restaurants were great and easy to get to as well. Owner was great with his communication, and we look forward to staying here again.

Tom’s condo in Kaanampali felt like we were staying at a friend’s place! The decor is simple but comfortable, and not much can beat that ground floor lanai with waves and views of Lanai’i from the living space. We slept to the sounds of waves, with windows open. The space is clean and just how it looks in the listing, if not nicer. If there’s one downside it’s that it’s a bit of a drive to Lahaina (about 15-20 minutes), but the ocean views make up for that without question. There isn’t really a beach at this spot, but there is a park within walking distance and a few nice beaches in easy driving distance. 100% would stay here again.

Our family enjoys the sounds of waves and the accessibility to the ocean from the unit. Overall it was pleasant, not luxurious. There is no AC and tiny ants were found on the kitchen counter. Not the biggest problem, but for the price, we would expect newer facilities and more comfort. Maybe we made a huge mistake to book during Christmas week. Maui is overrated and too pricey!

Didn't know that there had been a sinkhole just outside of the lanai and property was under construction. Found this out getting off the plane. Jackhammer and backhoes all week...
However, Tom was very accommodating and we ended up making a great week of it. Beautiful view of Molokai ...

Owner is very responsive and has thought of everything. Towels galore, beach chairs, boogie boards, fully stocked kitchen…you name it. Perfect unit for a couple like us. Easy access to everything here in west Maui. Very comfortable unit with a wonderful view of the ocean, Molokai and Lana’i.

This was what my wife and I walked into. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Close to great coffee and delicious food. This is the place to stay. We will definitely be back the next time we visit gorgeous Maui!

We loved this stay. The condo was pretty cozy for our family. The kids enjoyed the pool, which was directly out the front door, and we were steps from the ocean out the back door. We saw all sorts of sea life, including lots of sea turtles. We went snorkeling right off the sea wall. The beach is not the best for kids, though ours still went down right after low tide and they swam and played. There was not much of a beach most of the time, and it takes some small element of climbing to get up/down to the water, as there is a drop off. The kids wouldn’t have been able to get up/down on their own. The drop off from the sea wall was large enough it made me a little nervous with my littlest, so I probably wouldn’t suggest this for super young children unless you are confident they will follow directions and be weary. It is walking distance to a very safe beach and playground, so it was also easy to head down there for more beach time. We also loved driving north for more snorkeling. The condo does not have AC but it is very well ventilated; as soon as we arrived we opened all the slatted windows and screen door on the lanai and turned on the fans, and it was very comfortable inside. I appreciated the laundry being right there and having the privacy of our own parking. We would definitely stay again, and we met other return guests to these particular condos. Our host was very communicative, welcoming, and quick to respond to questions during booking and before arrival.

We stayed during January/February and enjoyed our stay. We loved drinking coffee on the lanai and watching the sunrise every morning, the whales playing beyond the reef, and the occasional turtle surfing the waves. We would definitely stay again!

What a great place to watch the whales and relax! Even the sea turtles like the place! Great first floor location. Walk out to the lanai, and you see the whales! The place was as advertised, even better. It has everything you would need for a great time. Quiet complex, close to shopping. You have to try the food trucks which is a 15 minute walk away. Other restaurants even closer. Or you can bbq every night!

This complex is a bit deceiving when you first pull in, but our unit was on the first floor and opened onto a private patio and beach. Everything was clean and it was well stocked. The few problems we had were minimal and the owner responded immediately! There is not A/C, but fans and open windows at both ends kept us comfortable. The common outdoor gathering area was perfect, with a grill, tiki torches, lounge chairs and stairs to a sandy beach. We swam with turtles right near shore! I would definitely recommend this.

Everything from inquiring about the property to making the reservation to the stay and check out was super easy. The peppery is exactly as described and was perfect for my husband and me. The condo is as advertised and we enjoyed how close to the beach we were. Loved seeing the turtle that came every evening. It was a nice quiet area and the beach is not crowded. The only con is that there is not AC and it gets hot at night. However I would stay there again even without the AC but I would rent a car, there is not very many places open to eat at that is within walking distance.

Wow wow wow views for days and has a small sandy beach that is amazing and not too many rocks(lots of other have alot of rocks). Snorkeling right outside the condo was great! Best place to view the sunset! and turtle lovers will rejoice with the sights of them gliding along next to you! Loved this place will stay here again in the future!
