Very clean, very loaded with everything you could possible need. The location was one of the best I have seen, cant beat the views and the sunrise !! They really have thought of you, I have never been to another location that had so many normal household items stocked full. The location is one of the best as well, all the local shops are in walking distance and was a very fun to go through all the local eateries' and shopping. The owner was very easily reachable at anytime we needed which was a very pleasant surprise. We will stay here next time we come without a second thought. A++ All the way.

We love the condominium . The view is beutifull. They have all amenities that you need.TVs in the rooms did'nt work good but who cares, you don't come to Kauai to watch tv. Everything was very clean and confortable.Very close to everything.Susan was very kind and offer help if we need anything. I definitely will comeback here and recommended to other people.

Enjoyed our stay here. Beds were super comfortable, lanai was lovely, and the beach was one of our kids' favorites. Having laundry facilities was super helpful. Loved the location for exploring every part of the island. There was a long, very slow-moving line to check-in (not something the owner can control), but otherwise everything went smoothly.

Very nice condo, very well equipped, and very well laid out for privacy between two bedrooms. Only suggestion would be to put hand bars in the shower/tub area -- very difficult for an elderly person to get in and out of the tub after a shower.

Our stay was wonderful! This unit is a large end unit that was larger than I expected. Our family of 4 had lots of room to spread out. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals during our stay, including spices, some condiments, and cooking spray. It may be worth checking out before shopping. It was great to have laundry within the unit, and there were lots of beach items as well. My boys enjoyed bringing out the boogie boards and sand toys. We also had lawn chairs and umbrellas to use at the beach. The beach is very close, and the resort property has lots of ammenities for outdoor entertainment. There are restaurants and shops that are right down the road, so plenty to do in walking distance. Another feature that was helpful was a binder that has lots of information and suggestions for activites. We would love to visit again sometime and would defietely recommend this rental.

My husband and I along with our two teens stayed here and it was clean, comfortable and had a great view. It had all the amenities you can think of! The beds were comfortable, and most of all it was quiet! We couldn’t hear any neighbors and being on the end was great. We enjoyed watching all the chickens in the mornings while sipping coffee on the lanai. 10 out of 10!

It was our very first girls trip (anywhere away from our husbands/family’s) our first ever trip to Hawaii, and we could not have asked for anything better! This is the perfect location. Susan supplies so many extras that no other hosts do anywhere (my husband and our family stay in a lot of VRBO condos in the Gulf shores area) we would definitely love to come back!! Highly recommend!!

I agree with all of the positive reviews. The only thing to be aware of is the unit directly above can transmit a lot of sound. There were several days where our neighbors were up at 5AM. Overall five stars...

This rental far exceeded our expectations, the beds were very comfortable with lovely soft sheets and mattress topper. The master has beautiful view windows to watch morning daybreak on the ocean. Condo is very well equipped, made our stay very comfortable. After traveling most of the whole island we thought our beach was the best… Host was very responsive when we had questions. Conversing with Susan, the owner, was an absolute pleasure. Extremely helpful and very responsive. The house had everything needed for a great vacation with no worries. Location was very central to both the north and south ends which made it easier to see different parts of the island. I was a little nervous the first night due to the past issues that were noted about the homeless close to the property but Susan has alarms on the windows and doors which made it feel safer and secure. I would suggest larger beds in the 2nd bedroom for when they are apart as singles. For anyone that's on a taller side (son is over 6' tall) they felt too small and were not comfortable. Overall it was a good experience for the price.

We loved our stay at Susan's condo at the Pono Kai resort. The space worked well for our family of five and was a great home base for exploring all over Kauai. We enjoyed the beach and the pool, and the amazing sunrises over the water. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable for our visit. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay!

We had an amazing stay on Kauai for 10 nights. The amenities in the condo were so appreciated. Not having to worry about buying soaps and spices was so nice, as well as having beach towels, chairs, a cooler and other amenities was just great. Most wonderful was the lanai. We enjoyed it at all times of the day and it felt so private where we were located. The chickens - well that’s another story for another day.

The condo was great, the host was more than accommodating, and we had a great time. Coffee on the lanai every morning with the view of the ocean sunrise and the sound of the waves was perfect! The property was very clean, the only criticism I have is that a few things look a bit worn/rusty, but that is just part of being on the beach with the salty air and so I'm being picky.

We really enjoyed staying at Susan's roomy condo in Kapa'a. It was clean, well-stocked, and wonderfully located. The lanai directly faces sunrise over the ocean, making morning coffee an exquisite experience. Especially when the personable chickens endemic to Kauai share it with you.
Many of the restaurants and shops on Kapa'a's main drag are within a block of this condo--there's a lot you can do without getting into a car.
One of my favorite features was Kapa'a's highest-rated bike rental, Hele, within that one-block walk and a paved 4-mile hike/bike path that runs up the windward coast of the island. The path is adjacent to this condo's back yard. The path is an easy, breezy ride, and the views are spectacular.
The Pono Kai resort, to which this property belongs, is also a great home base. It has immaculately manicured grounds, a peaceful pool, koi ponds, hammocks, grills, and several outdoor activities like croquet or lawn chess.
This was our first trip to Kauai, but we're sure to return, and will see if Susan's property is available then. Mahalo!

We had a fantastic time here. Susan’s well-stocked home made everything easier! It was so nice not having to worry about basic essentials (paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, etc) when traveling to a vacation by plane. The other amenities like beach towels, boogie boards and chairs were awesome too. I read the reviews before choosing this rental and they were helpful. You definitely hear the upstairs neighbors but the incredible location, beach access and cold AC in the bedrooms more than made up for it. We hope to visit again soon and wouldn’t hesitate to rent this unit again! Check in was easy, the resort is pretty and well-maintained and we loved all of the restaurants and shops that were within walking distance!

We have stayed at Pono Kai Resort a handful of times, and Susan's condo is by far the most lovely that we have rented. It's even more spacious than the photos suggest! The unit was very well-equipped for our family, with two kiddos under 10. We would love to return for another visit.
We did learn that nothing should be left out on the lanai, as the lounge chair cushion was taken the one night we forgot to bring it in. Our only complaint is that the dishwasher doesn't clean very well.

I have to say one thing there is a unit above that didn't sleep, and you can basically hear their every move. You can call the 24 hour front desk or the owner. But I don't want any issues.

Kauai - best island. Pono Kai, wonderful resort. Unit A101, amazingly private for such a large resort. Enjoyed watching the boat launches across the way. Good beach for swimming, sunbathing, very few people. Best stocked unit we've ever stayed in; kitchen had everything we needed and then some; beach towels, chairs and cooler made expeditions easier. Great condo, host and housekeeper went out of their way to accommodate.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work you can’t see the ocean a bum was passed out on the ground beside our condo (literally leaning against the outside wall) and when called down to the front desk to get them removed or at least checked on I was laughed at by the staff. Right on a very busy walk/bike path so everyone who goes by looks directly into the condo unless all blinds and windows are shut. Ants everywhere and boats taking off out of the river next to the unit wakes you up at 5 am

Susan and Brenda were great hosts. They were very responsive to any of our needs both before and during our stay. The property is in an ideal location on Kauai. The condo was clean and comfortable. Can't beat opening up the master bedroom windows to see and hear the ocean - or sit on the patio with an ocean front view. The only negative was hearing the people in the unit above walk around - very noisy.

This was a great property. Location right near downtown Kappa where you can walk to some excellent restaurants. Corner location so had great privacy. Room was clean and comfortable with AC which is an amazing and necessary plus. Beach is a short walk from your patio. Plenty of snorkeling beaches near by to see fish and coral. Definitely would stay again. If you stay here make sure to check out the food trucks! Great fish tacos and Thai food.

This property is absolutely amazing. Literally steps away from the beach! We watched sunrises every morning with unobstructed views. The condo itself is very spacious and well stocked with the basic necessities. The pull out couch is not bad at all! At first we were a little concerned about the homeless people across the river but they did not create any issues for us in any way. The shops are walking distance and restaurants are amazing. We will define booking here when we come back! Susan was super responsive and extremely accommodating!

Really enjoyed my stay at this condo. It is very spacious, clean, and well stocked. At the front desk you can check-out golf putters, horse shoes, etc. which we fully utilized and had a lot of fun! We rented bicycles and rode on the path in front of the condo.

The condo was immaculate and was more than I expected. Susan had everything (and more) of all the practical kitchen, bathroom, pool, and ocean supplies than one could need. My sister and I enjoyed everything about our stay. The location was perfect. The condo was large and comfortable. Air conditioning in the bedrooms allowed for comfortable sleeping. You provided everything we could have possibly wanted or needed. Brenda was only a phone call away when we had questions. We would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed at 5 private condos in Hawaii and this one is by far the best. It has recently been remodeled and is very clean. Everything is supplied here from a safe to beach towels and chairs to laundry detergent. Perfect location, close to the water and in Kapa'a which is half way between the South and North part of Kauai. Susan provided all the details to give it a very classy touch. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Kauai.

Four of us "girls" spent a week at this gorgeous Pono Kai Condo. The location, in Kapa'a was perfect - so easy to drive either North or South to enjoy all the beautiful views. The condo itself is absolutely gorgeous - all new furniture, large rooms, all the extras were there - it felt like home (only better). The unit is located on the ground floor at the south end of the building which affords a sweeping lawn off the patio with the beach just beyond. It was like having no neighbors at all, which was wonderful. Susan, the owner, answered all our questions and we loved meeting her and spending some time with her. Kapa'a is a quaint little town with very friendly locals. The condo setting is very lush and beautiful. We even had daily visits on the lawn from a gorgeous rooster and his 5 "wives" - very fun. The four of us really enjoyed out time there and will definitely recommend it to all. Aloha, and mahalo Susan!!

I would highly recommend renting this unit. This unit has the best location at the complex, I think - - - oceanfront on the lower level, so we had an unobstructed view of the daily sunrise. . We were in Building A, so we had the river to our right instead of a another building and the end units are slightly offset from most of the others, so we really were able to enjoy privacy on the lanai.
We had a HUGE 2 bedroom condo that had a king bed in the master suite and two twins in the second room that could be pushed together if needed. Tons of space, the kitchen was outfitted with all the cookware, dishes etc that you would need, and even some of the nicer touches like Ziploc bags, spices, etc. were available. In fact, there were little touches throughout the unit that really made you feel welcome - IPOD music deck, TV's in both bedrooms as well as the living room, lovely furnishings, cooler bags for daily adventures, clean and comfy custions for the loungers, etc.
Both this unit and the complex were very clean and well-maintained, the pool was small but functional, and a few nights we took advantage of the BBQs and had a great meal and cocktails on the lanai. Kapa'a is centrally located and an easy drive to both the North and South sides of the island - a great location if you want to do it all, and Pono Kai was a great home base for this week-long visit to Kauai. I would not hesitate to stay here again, especially in this particular unit.

Susan, We could not have asked for a more perfect unit and setting for our Girls' Getaway! We were not lacking for anything! Sunrises over coffee and a full moon over the ocean while sipping cocktails - how wonderful is that?! Plus the sound of the surf to lull us to sleep at night and the roosters to wake us in the morning! Kauai is a beautiful island and your location is very convenient to all that the island has to offer. We're already planning for next year and definitely want to stay with you again!!!! This very comfortable, well equipped 2 bedroom condo is a perfect location for exploring all of Kauai. The owner was accessible to us whenever needed and went out of her way to make our booking and our stay very smooth. The unit has good privacy, yet has an excellent outlook to the ocean. For families with young children (or not) I'd highly recommend Lydgate Beach/Park, a short drive away. It has a protected area for swimming and offers the opportunity for a VERY long beach walk. I'd readily recommend this spot to anyone.
