We really enjoyed this beautiful apartment. The ocean view couldn’t have been better!
The apartment was clean and had all kinds of amenities you would need. The kitchen was fully stocked with different serving ware, and a nice surprise was it had some coffee filters and some Saran Wrap and bag clips we could use too. There were some beach chairs and also an umbrella in the upstairs bathroom closet which were a lovely surprise. Wifi worked great, and the smart tvs allowed you to connect your streaming services as desired.
Princeville itself is really only residential - but we still were happy to stay here even though we had to sometimes drive a distance to enjoy activities/food around Kauai. The night we arrived we were lucky to be able to grab a bite on-site at the pizza restaurant, as most other places on the island were already closed. The pizza hit the spot and they had nice salads too.
The on-site pool was much better than expected from the pictures online - it was large and a lovely temperature (I’d venture to say low to mid 80’s).
If I had to ding this property on anything it would be that when it does rain, the sound of the rain outside the main floor bedroom window is very loud, as it hits the large palm leaves below. And the coffee maker was very elementary - didn’t make a great cup. But that is me being very finicky - it was truly a great stay. It wasn’t inexpensive by any means, but the splurge was worth it. We loved it!

The unit was clean and the location was as beautiful as the photos. As mentioned by others, carpets are worn and little things like the folding door for the downstairs closet coming off the track and holes in the screens indicate that this is a property for generating cash. Flickering lights in the bathroom was responded to almost immediately by Oceanfront Realty and repaired. No condiments to speak of so bring what you need.

Excellent kitchen and supplies, towels, layout for four guests with spearate suites, and VIEWS! Enjoyed our stay a lot!!
The only offputting aspect of the property was the condition (getty old and stained) of the carpet. Update that and it could be almost perfect.

The view from our unit was spectacular. Watching the Nene parade by with their chicks was an added treat. Never tired of going to sleep to the soothing sounds of the surf. The property manager was very helpful making sure we had everything we needed. A perfect twelve days in paridise.

Very easy process to rent the property. Communication with Oceanfront Realtors was excellent. View was spectacular and the location was fantastic. Property was clean and freshly painted suggesting owners are in process of upgrading. Still need to replace carpeting which is in dire need replacement and really should upgrade the lanai’s furniture to match the fabulous views. Overall I would highly recommend this as a vacation destination.

Drawbacks: lots of construction noise from next door, and the lack of AC was bothersome for sleeping at night, with day temps getting up to about 90. for thatprice, too, i would expect the location to be relatively "critter-free," but i found a couple of dead roaches and was visited periodically inside by small lizards.

We loved spending time on the lanai! It’s quite possibly the most beautiful view in the world. The condo could use a few updates and repairs, but with that view we hardly noticed. We can’t wait to return.

The view was spectacular with beautiful nightly sunsets from the balcony. However, there were tiles broken off the baseboard sitting unfixed, a series of 3/4” holes drilled along a wall for an unknown reason. The cheap hollow room doors, off-the-track louvered closet doors, and low level mattresses were disappointing, as well as the terribly stained carpet. My brother got rust stains on a shirt from the washer or dryer. For what they charge, they should upgrade. However, it was clean.

This property has stunning views and we enjoyed our time there with all the fees it was costing us over $700 a day. The carpet was very dirty and the furniture and beds were dated/older so we would ask that they paint an update carpet and furniture for that price. The cleaners have done an excellent job and the place is well equipped for cooking and we really enjoyed being there and would like to return.

We had rented this unit about 4 years ago and were somewhat surprised at the deteriorated condition of the unit. It appeared that a cleaning unit had come in between rentals, changed linens, cleaned bathrooms and did a quick vacuum. The unit was dirty, screens were either broken or non=existent, the carpet was a disgrace with a minor attempt to cover the really bad stains with the furniture, the curtains were black with mildew and several things were lacking in the kitchen. The dishwasher unit was not even attached and frankly so clogged with debris it didn't clean very well. And the bed linens had definitely seen better days. Your maintenance man could not have been nicer, quickly came to repair the screens so the mosquitos couldn't get in. And Brenda came by and made a note of what was needed in the kitchen and promptly had the things delivered. She was great. However, having rented in Pali Ke Kua for the past 6 years I would say that despite upgrades this unit is very very tired and at the very least needs a professional cleaning crew. Gecko poop along the kitchen countertop was a real turnoff

Also a surprise very solid foldout in front. living room ( which one guest liked because you can hear the ocean. We love Pale Ke Kua for its location, views, pool and proximity to Hideaways beach ( and Hideaways pizza). But most of all the views. Fantastic.

We have rented at Pali Ke Kua almost every year for the past 25 years. We've stayed in many different units all over the complex and have never had an experience like this. In a nutshell the unit we stayed in was terrible. It was filthy with dirty worn furniture, carpet, drapes and beds. The entire time we were there I felt disgusted that we were sitting in such filth. While the kitchen and bathroom counters and appliances have been nicely updated,however the unit feel filthy and the soft goods were extremely dirty, which made the whole place feel unhygienic and disgusting.The carpets were stained and felt sticky on our feet. The curtains were stained (some with blood) and caked with dust, and some were broken with missing hooks and broken hanging sections. The sheets were nice, but the bedspreads and shams were worn, dingy, outdated polyester atrocities. Unfortunately, we needed the bedspread for warmth at night. The only other option was a thin cotton blanket in the closet which was also dingy and of dubious cleanliness. The beds had to be decades old and were the worst beds I've ever sleep on. I grew up poor and have sleep on a lot of bad beds. The upholstery on the rattan furniture looked and felt dirty, and the cushions were worn and compressed.Additionally, the TV was a joke. It took me about an hour to figure out how to work the two different remotes to dial in what I wanted to watch. The TV instructions were not explanatory and I had to figure it out on my own. It took two remotes to control the TV. I'm somewhat of a video expert so it was not operator error. Once I did get it going the TV was small and tucked away in a ****** rattan fixture. For $400++ per night one would expect the unit to have clean comfortable furniture and beds & linens. I really felt we were ripped off. The unit has a great view but if you feel you’re wallowing in filth, what good is the view? There is a Sotheby’s International sign inside the door. What a joke.

We were very impressed with Oceanfront's efficiency and especially the way they handled us having to cancel our trip twice because of COVID and travel restrictions. Our only complaint is that the condo we rented hadn't been checked out thoroughly before we arrived. For instance, the ice maker was broken and there were no ice cube trays to use. Also, the land line was 100% dead and we couldn't get cell service in the condo even though we had two different providers. Also, the screens were breaking away from the windows and provided easy access to any bugs. I emailed Oceanfront (because I couldn't call them), and they sent an agent out the next day even though it was Mother's Day. The ice maker never did work well, but they bought us some trays which we could use. They tried to fix the Wifi for our phones, but it didn't work. They replaced the land line and that worked fine now as well as the screens. The condo is in a great location and the view is fantastic. It's a 2 bdr 2 bath, but the second bedroom and bath are upstairs as a loft which wasn't clear in the description. Other than the issues described above we loved it and would stay again.

The views can't be beat. The condo was well-furnished for our needs. While it could use some updating, the views are so spectacular that you can easily overlook everything else. We loved the pool and hot tub, especially being there in winter when the surf was especially high. The Hideaway Pizza pub had excellent pizza and was nice to have so close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Can't say enough of how much we enjoyed staying here at Pali Ke Kua for our 30th anniversary! Our unit had such a beautiful view, that we were happy to spend most of our time on the lanai while on the North Shore (although we managed to also hike the Kalalau Trail, snorkel at Tunnels, hang out in Princeville, visit the farmer's market, etc :) We had a wonderful time, Mahalo!

The views are amazing, like other reviewers said the couches are not comfy, and the downstairs bed mattress has left me needing a few massages as my back pain after has been intense - BUT the views and the location make up for it ! Getting a mattress in Hawaii isn’t like the mainland where we can order a good one off Amazon for a good price, so I get it but I would keep an eye on mattress and couch sales if I were the owners ;) we trick or treated in princeville which was super fun, and the kitchen is updated which it doesn’t show in the main ad- so that was an unexpected perk! Thank you for sharing your condo, oh and hideaways beach was one of the most beautiful strolls and spots I’ve ever been to, definitely a must do!!

The location of this property is truly unbeatable. Stunning views and peaceful surroundings. The condo is a good layout, with updated kitchen and bathrooms. The lack of AC is not an issue with lovely sea breeze cross ventilation through the ample open windows. There are also ceiling fans in every room. Very pleasant!
Our issue is the furnishings and particularly the beds. For us the king sized bed was unusable. The hardest bed I’ve ever experienced. We chose to sleep in the upstairs separate beds as they were slightly better. The other furniture is usable but quite worn and dirty. It could also use some new patio furniture as the current stuff is not really in keeping with the incredible views. Overall a good experience but with some upgraded beds and furniture this place would be top notch (and I would be willing to pay more for it).

Views from this property are fantastic. You can watch Sunrise from the bedroom windows and Sunset from the lanai! Breathtaking view of the ocean. Close to so many activities. We walked down the paved trail between building 1 and 2 to see a perfect hideaway black stone beach. Walked another 10 minutes and took the hideaway trail and snorkeled at the Hideaway beach. Jogged on the priceville walkway and enjoyed the scenic Mountain View’s. Could not have asked for a better place.
Kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed.
Only four areas that can be changed to make it a five star property:
1 - Bed on the main foor needs upgrade. It is worn out
2 - Sofa has a pretty old look can be upgraded
3- it will be good to get some suggestion on local farmers markets, timing, activities, restaurant choices etc
4- our key broke, we called the oceanfront realty number and no one picked up for hours, it went to voicemail. Had I known that they have a office in the club house of the property I would ha d walked there.
We had a great time here and will recommend to our friends visiting the island. Thank you.

Views, views, views! The posted images of this property were what led us to book here, and boy did it deliver! The kitchen corner window and patio just have unbeatable presence over the Hanalei bay and mountain views. My husband and I stayed here for almost a month, and deeply loved our time here. It was a perfect unit for us, with two bedrooms that we used for part time work during our visit. The property owners even recently upgraded the internet speeds which worked perfectly for us both active on video meetings during the day (we experienced 200 mbps down and 10 mbps up). We really liked Hideaways which had pizza that really wowed us - a nice surprise! The unit also has a lovely view over Hideaways beach, which itself is just a 15 minute walk/hike down the road toward the old St. Regis hotel. The unit's style is a tad dated, but very functionally laid-out. Our one complaint was the dishwasher - it didn't get the dishes very clean, and had little mites inside it that we just couldn't get rid of. We chose to hand wash all our dishes throughout the stay.
