High Floor with Full Kitchen 'Residential' Suite. Look-out in either direction from main living room in this 1-Bedroom condo & see the surf as it breaks. Sit on the cushy sofa & gaze out at the ocean, cityscape, park, & mountains. A unique feature of the building is that each floor is only one unit wide, so getting a cooling cross breeze is accomplished by opening windows on each side of the unit.

I was allergic to something in bedroom and had to sleep on the couch. Maybe dirty carpet? Normally I do not have allergies.

Although this is an older property,if you want to be just outside Waikiki, this is the place for you. There is a beautiful view of Diamond Head. Walking distance to beaches. Very friendly staff and residents.

Loved my stay here, the views were spectacular and the area was perfect .... just far away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, but still close enough to walk if you wanted to. There was also a very nice grassy area overlooking the ocean, which was perfect for watching the sunset everyday. It would have been nice to have a larger bed ( especially since there seems to be the room for it ) but overall would definitely recommend.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, just a stones throw from the madness of Waikiki, this is the right place. We have stayed in the building many times and have always had a beautiful suite. This time however was a disappointment. We arrived just five minutes before midnight on December 31st so had to get in via a lock box which was fine. We had excellent directions from David at the management company.. When we entered the suite our first impression was grubby and funky which is not what we expected from the photos. The bathroom needs serious updating,; the blinds were very difficult to adjust., and raise and lower. The art work (not shown in the photo) was the stuff of nightmare.; the television was on the coffee table shoved against the wall. The kitchen utensils were old and basic things like a vegetable peeler were absent. This is a small apartment and the owner has left things in the cupboards and drawers. Not good. I could go on, but can only say this apartment needs serious updating. just to make it liveable. ON the positive side, the management acted swiftly when we made our concerns known, replacing what they could , having carpets shampooed (why, Oh why does anyone want carpets in Hawaii especially when the apartment is right on the beach) and having the TV installed on the wall, which made the place at least liveable. Also positive is the wonderful location and it turned out a great group of Canadian and American snowbirds who meet every night for sunset drinks. Thanks to them and the management company rep David, we managed to enjoy our extended stay., but would never rent that apartment again. Note to owner. Please bring this apartment up to its full potential. If not, seriously drop the rent. It certainly wasn't worth what we paid, even with the discount. It could be wonderful. And please replace that "Art"

A wonderful week at the Diamond Head Beach Hotel and Residence! Unit 802 was comfortable, clean and the perfect size for a couple. A King bed would have been ideal--but we still slept well in a Queen. Large bedroom closet space and six drawer dresser helped to keep things manageable. We thoroughly enjoyed the best vantage views of the ocean from both the bedroom and living room. Check-in and check-out was convenient and trouble-free. David was courteous and tended to requests right away. We had a slight issue with hot/cold water--nothing that got in the way of the use of the bathroom or kitchen. David had the plumbers on property and later explained ownership would be looking into the situation as well. Enjoying the mornings with coffee and simple breakfast meals with the full kitchen made our stay even more relaxing. Great location -- with walks around the beautiful Diamond Head neighborhood, Kapiolani Park and strolls along the quiet side of Waikiki Beach. My husband loves Hawaii -- I'm a local who transplanted to Denver. We both appreciate 'coming 'home' and enjoying the island lifestyle. We're glad to have found DH Beach Hotel & Residence and will be returning soon!

After looking through MANY listings for our October stay in Oahu, we selected this property and we were not disappointed. The gentlemen who welcomed us were helpful, courteous and friendly. The condo is in a residential building with friendly neighbors, ocean views include Diamond Head and Waikiki views, in addition to surfers, paddleboarders, sailboats, navy ships visible from the couch! The AC Units in the space were enough to keep us cool. The trade winds were much warmer than I expected. The hot water issues mentioned in another review was not an issue for us. We have stayed in several rentals across the country and this was the best appointed space by far. My husband works remotely with his employer so WiFi was a concern and it was beyond awesome, every day. Great bed, very comfortable couch, real furniture... not typical for a lot of rentals. Beach towels, plenty of glasses, plates, abundance of cookware and utensils- the extras were a nice bonus. There is a small convenience store/shop a short distance from the unit and there’s a great beach cafe on the water about .08 mi walk, just past the aquarium. It’s touristy but great place if you’re up for a walk for breakfast or lunch. The area is super congested but it’s to be expected due to the location. We drove all over the island and spent time with family in Hawai’i Kai. Condo is close to Waikiki without the noise- area is very quiet at night. Lanai area is lovely but there’s no sandy beach access and rock walkway on both sides are labeled private property. My one and only issue with the space was the listing of the price. There was a $200 cleaning fee (which was refunded to us after checkout), parking (we opted for basement garage- $25 per day) , and of course taxes. I now understand this is typical for the island as it was our first time to Oahu. Something to consider for the budget when booking. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks David and Mark for a great travel experience. Aloha🌺

The host was very accommodating and met me upon my arrival. The unit was nice, mostly updated but in need of a few repairs. The shower/tub faucet was broken, miner but very difficult to get cold water. The sliding glass doors and windows desperately need replacing and the bedroom carpet needs to go! There is no parking for your car other than across the street at a pay meter and spots are at a premium, so good luck. Other than that the unit is very comfortable, quite, and you can't beat the location. I spend a lot of time on Oahu and I will definitely rent this place often. I really enjoyed it and although it does need some work, it really suited my needs well.

This is the first time we have used "VRBO" and we will probably use it again. Not being a regular rented room we missed the normal features we have become used to. This unit #802 was in general a nice one but needs quite a bit of upgrades. Check the list. 1. Water valves in shower, bathroom sink and kitchen all came on very hot and we had to let the water flow for a long time before it was cool. The shower/bathtub valve was really in need of replacement as it was very difficult to use. Bathroom needed A/C or better ventilation as it was very hot in there. 2. We like to have a glass of wine in the evening but were not happy about having only one wine glass. Not much fun drinking wine out of a water glass. 3. Although we did not watch TV very much the unit in the living room was very small. Manager replaced it with larger TV but that one was not much bigger. 4. The shades in the living room would not come down to shield the afternoon sun. We had to leave the A/C on all day ever though we were not in the room to keep the sun from frying the whole room. 5. Thought that it was dumb having to wash dishes before we checked out. 6. Manager David was very helpful and very pleasant to talk to. 7. Private area on Ocean side of building was very nice. Great views and fun watching the lights of passing planes and boats.

Great place, our daughter and son in-law had never been to Hawaii, so this was a great place to introduce them to paradise
