Janet’s condo is in the perfect location. Saw multiple rainbows, turtle and young seal napping on the beach. Sitting in the lanai every morning, such beautiful ocean views. We walked to Kaanapali restaurants several times during our stay. The condo is the best stocked condo I have ever been in. Her kitchen has everything, you only need to buy food! Her unit will always be our first choice in Maui!

Papekea is a lovely property and this unit is very nice. We enjoyed spectacular views and spotted whales & sea turtles from our lanai. We were a party of four so there was plenty of room and seating for all on the lanai. This is a 4th floor unit so you can choose to climb stairs or there is an elevator located mid- building. It is nicely appointed and we had everything we needed in the kitchen.

This unit was perfect for our family stay. We were on vacation with our adult children and their partners. The three bed, three bath layout gave each couple plenty of personal space while allowing us to enjoy time together as well. The view from our balcony was incredible. Many people from our travel group came to our unit specifically to see it.
Janet was easy to work with. She was flexible when we needed to make a change to our departure date and she clearly communicated everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
The end of our stay coincided with the devastating fire in Lahaina. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Maui.

This beautiful condo had everything we needed for our stay for my husband and I and our two adult children. We had our own bedrooms, bathrooms, a beautiful view. We saw dolphins and turtles from our view on the balcony. The kitchen was well-equipped. There were beach towels and beach chairs, a small cooler. The owners were great communicators. We would definitely stay here again!

This was an amazing oceanfront condo in one of the best locations in Maui! It is well maintained and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Janet was super friendly, a pleasure to work with and answered any questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommend for any family looking for a great condo, property and beautiful sunsets. Our first impression was awesome. Until we realized that the condo was infested with roaches. All 10 days of our stay, we encountered roaches. Morning, noon and night we battled with them in the kitchen. They were every where,even coming out of the electrical outlets.
This was our 7th trip to Maui and we've never encountered such a sight.
I called Janet/owner to advise her of our encounters and she said the roaches were normal and had the condo serviced regularly. Janet became very defensive and started up come up with excuses, then threatened to have us kicked out because we were unhappy with the condo. And the fact that the exterminator had access to our unit without approval when we were out was also upsetting.
The complex over all was beautiful and all the staff/workers were outstanding. But we will never stay here again.
The owner Janet, was very unprofessional and seemed to be upset and put out that I called during her visit with her 90 yr. old mother's birthday.
I will be sure to tell all my friends about this place.

We had a wonderful time! 6 Adults, the condo and location was perfect. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Spectacular view with awesome sunsets. Only downside is that the second bedroom and loft gets pretty warm, but lots of fans so it’s not unbearable. Would highly recommend!!!

The property was absolutely gorgeous! Check in was very easy, everyone who worked on the property was so nice and welcoming. The unit surpassed our expectations. It had literally everything we needed for the week! Very clean and well stocked. And the VIEW!! You cannot beat that view!!!! Location was perfect! We loved everything about Janet’s place. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The view is spectacular! We watched whales and the sunset from our balcony every day. The beach has beautiful sand but is also quite rocky so we were glad to have our water shoes with us. The property is beautiful and both Janet and the front desk staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend Janet’s place and would definitely love to stay here again.

The property was exactly (maybe even better) than described. The bed’s, especially the primary bedroom was THE MOST comfortable than any rental I’ve stayed. The kitchen had everything, including some essential seasonings and foil/baggies that came in handy. The view was spectacular and searching for whales with the included binoculars made late afternoons fun! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a ocean view 3 bedroom condo! It checked all our boxes and then some!

Papakea is amazing. The location is great and the resort is very well maintained. It’s a quiet location and very family friendly. This is our 2nd year staying at Papakea but our 1st time in this particular condo.
The good: the view. The view does not get any better. If an ocean front view is important to you, this is a perfect condo. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is updated and is well stocked. We had a few maintenance issues while at the condo and the host is super responsive.
The bad: we were 6 adults and it was pretty cramped. There is too much furniture and there are knick knacks everywhere on every surface. I personally needed more functional space such as shelves in the bedrooms or hooks to hang towels and robes.
The upstairs loft bedroom had no privacy (missing a wall and door). The 2nd bedroom has no a/c so the door had to remain open 24/7 to allow air in. So 2/3 bedrooms basically have no privacy. The living room furniture is outdated and has an odor. It needs to be either replaced. We didn’t feel comfortable sitting on it. Although it was “clean” when we checked in, it wasn’t deep cleaned. To be honest, I find this to be the case with most VRBO’s and this is probably the last one that I’ll stay in.
Overall, I would not choose to stay in this particular condo again because of the lack of a/c in all rooms, as well as the size of the condo.

The condo is even nicer than in pictures! We are a family of 5 and it was super comfortable and spacious with 3 bedrooms, beds for us all. 2 twins in the loft upstairs, and other bedrooms on the main floor both with king size beds. 3 bathrooms. The ceilings are very high in the bedrooms and main living room so it feels extra spacious , compared to the other suites we've stayed in at Papakea. The master bedroom has all windows that face the ocean so it's a dream to wake up to - you hear the waves all night. The patio is so lovely as you are literally almost on the ocean. There was always a breeze coming in so we didn't use A/C but they do have it. The condo was very neat and tidy and had all the supplies you need (I did have to buy some laundry detergent though and paper towel! but not a huge deal). Janet the host was super responsive. The condo grounds are also great with lovely swimming pools, tennis courts and pickel ball - which we all played - and you can walk along the boardwalk for quite some ways. Would definitely come back! Thank you Janet and family for allowing others to rent this!

The location and condo itself were wonderful. The views are spectacular, and there was more than enough space for the six adults traveling in our group. The property has nice amenities with the pool and hot tub, and the condo had a good number of additional items like towels and beach chairs for use.
A few, very minor inconviences. We weren't able to check in until 4pm, and the checkout time listed in the booklet in the unit is 10:30, rather than the 11am we had been told previously. We also had an unexpected visit from the exterminator service, which left us unable to access the unit for a couple hours one afternoon.
I'd definitely return to this property if we're ever able to make it back to Maui!

Top floor, facing west - best view of sunsets, beach, & water!
Great, clean, fully equipped kitchen - we mostly snacked at the unit, and prepped for lunches on the go, eating most dinners out, but the kitchen and two tables (one on the lanai) would have served well for intimate or family meals.
At home, we sleep with fans for background white noise. Here we slept with windows open, and only the sound of peaceful breaking waves to lull us to and through great nights of sleep! We had two small problems beyond prediction or management control that Janet worked to get resolved ASAP and to our great satisfaction.
Our biggest disappointment was that we could only spend a week at this beautiful home! Next time . . . 10 days minimum!!

We really enjoyed our stay at L402 in Papakea. It is right on the ocean, so the view is great. It was my wife and me and 3 boys. There were plenty of beach towels, chairs, snorkeling gear for all of us, which was nice. Didn’t need to communicate much with the property owner, but she was very prompt when we did have questions.
It feels hot in there when you get there at check in, but with the AC on and the cool down at night, we always slept very comfortably.
Overall, it was a great choice, highly recommend it.

The superb views, excellent location, and responsive owner rated 5 Stars.
The ants in the kitchen, poor central air, and property management staff are 3-4 stars. I bought a couple of rotating fans and a box fan to help, but in August, the heat may be an issue.
It is the absolute best area IMO to stay on the island. The sunsets are beautiful, and the beaches are fantastic for snorkeling. This was our second stay, and we would recommend this property if you're looking for these amenities while in Maui.

Perfect location in a wonderful resort. Great reception at the front desk, lot of activities at the resort. The condo was lovely, well stocked, very clean and beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful time with many options very close including beaches, stores, restaurants, walking paths, and whale watching. It was great to have thee bathrooms and the loft was great for the two teen age girls. The master bedroom was very spacious with wall to wall ocean view.

We spent the holidays in this property, and we could not have asked for a better location. The condo was very spacious and well appointed. We enjoyed the BBQs by the pools, cocktails on the balcony watching the sunset. The property has a supermarket right across the street. We could not have asked for a better location!

Upon arrival, the check-in process was smooth and quick, and the location of the particular building (L) was the best on the property. The grounds are deceivingly large and well-maintained, and although we didn't have much time, there was plenty to do on the property. The unit itself was very well furnished and had a beautiful view. The condo was well maintained, included all supplies and kitchen needs and very warm and welcoming. I would love to stay here again, and my compliments go out to the owner for having such a beautiful property!

We had 5 adults stay in this condo and it was very comfortable for all. The owner was quick to address a couple of small issues which we really appreciated. The master bedroom is on the ocean side and it was fantastic to fall asleep with the sound of the waves. The view is incredible from both the living room and master. We loved the location of the property, and the view was unbeatable! The resort location was also low-key and great for families. The beach was beautiful, but rocky. So, bring swim shoes. The owner left lots of snorkeling gear to use which was great. The primary bedroom and living/kitchen area cooled off well. The back bedroom was very hot as was the loft. The sunsets there were amazing, and we would definitely stay there again, even given the few things mentioned above.

This place is amazing. Unit has a gorgeous view. Great location on Maui, great resort. Clean. My kids loved the pool, putting greens and shuffle board. Location is close to supermarket and a few take out food options. Food trucks next door are a bonus too. The only drawback was the people in the unit next door on their lanai and being loud either very late or super early as where their lanai is is right next to master bedroom window where sleeping. But a sound machine helped a little with that.

Amazing views, incredible ocean front property! The resort provides very nice amenities and seems to be well managed.
It’s important to note that although this property is presented as a 3 bedroom, the 3rd bedroom is actually a sleeping loft lacking the privacy of a 3rd bedroom. It does not provide quiet for a late sleeper. Probably great for kids but may not provide comfort for adults. Also, the sleeping loft is always very warm and requires the use of the fans provided.
Full well equipped nicely updated kitchen and updated baths.
Snorkel equipment, beach chairs and beach towels provided.

This condo had everything my family needed for our Maui vacation. The view from the lanai was breathtaking. The condo itself was beautiful and stocked with anything you might need from kitchen supplies to beach equipment. Beds were super comfy! We had a vacation of a lifetime. We spent 4 days on Maui and loved our time at this condo. The views were stunning. The beach was nice. We couldn't access the beach at high tide but found some sand just a few feet away. At low tide you can walk out pretty far and see lots of sea creatures. The condo had everything we needed including snorkel gear, beach towels and chairs. The grocery store was close which was nice. Kaanapali beach/black rock was just a mile or so down the road and the parking garage at the Sheraton worked well. Our host was wonderful to work with and quickly answered any questions we had. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. I only hope we can return someday.

The location can not be beat. You wake up every morning looking at the ocean. This place has everything. Other reviews mention that the back room was hot. It is not that hot if you leave the window open and fan on as the owners have said. We took my 84 year old mother in law and she enjoyed it as well as my 18 year old son. Again, you can not beat the location
