Thi sis my third time staying at the Kuleana Resort. The staff was friendly and always greeted you when they passed by. The grounds were immaculate, as was my unit. I didn't use the grill this time, but upon inspection it was clean and ready to go. I received two calls from the management company. Once a few hours after I checked in asking if the check process went smooth, it did. I was also able to check in early. Then about midway through my stay to make everything was to my liking. They have everything you need for a great stay.
Dollie's is a local hang out that has good food, and fair prices. The staff was great too! It's maybe a mile north of the resort, next to it is Miso Phat, a great sushi place. They do not serve alcohol, but you can go next door and drink it with your meal.
I didn't see any children and I was okay with that, but that doesn't they weren't there. All and all, this is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it. And be sure to check out Slaughterhouse Beach. The best beach on Maui!

Prior to arrival, I messaged the owner asking if we were able to check in early, but unfortunately I had to jump through another hoop and contact the property manager, Maui Condo and Home (no number was provided by the owner). We were dealing with an exhausted toddler, so we thought it would be a reasonable request since it was less than an hour before check in, but didn't even bother doing the research to find the number since I had to help with our little one.
Problems:
1. Dirty dishes, cutting boards, and silverware
2. Updated shower is not updated. Hopefully they can update it by providing a showerhead that isn't supposed to be used at the local beach showers.
3. Poor communication between renters and property management company. Left a message regarding a missing ceiling fan remote and issues with operability, but never was recontacted.
4. Extremely dangerous tile on the lanai (patio) due to how slippery it gets when wet
5. No beachtowels provided to dry off appropriately at beach or pool
Lastly, we were disappointed when we were charged $63 for numerous towels and bed linen that were supposedly stained. Due to extensive construction on the west side, there is a lot more red dirt than normal and it is affecting the condos along the lower road. Because of the red dirt sticking to visitors' feet, white towels are subsequently being stained. Sadly, this owner and property management company will continue to charge renters extra as long as red dirt is in the air.

Good location, very well maintained complex with BBQs, pools, amazing sunsets and small but nice beach (some rocks and sand)- perfect for snorkelling and watching sunsets. Apartment is fully equipped with everything you need. Missing the BBQ utensils and sun umbrella (which not work). AC cools only the bedroom, but the ceiling fan and the draft from the patio door did the trick in the living room. Be careful using the bathroom towels- we got charged $20 after the trip for a small stain on one of the towels (must have been from the sandy feet). Otherwise, it was a nice stay.

This is a Beautiful property! Great location right on the Pacific Ocean and quite! The condo is clean and well stocked with everything you need for an extended stay! We loved watching the turtles and snorkeling was amazing! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place!

Great location! The kitchen had everything we needed, there was plenty of parking available. Only problem was the sink didn’t drain well in the bathroom. Besides that every thing was wonderful. Highly recommend 😊

I called twice to confirm it was a King Bed and was assured it was, however upon arrival the bedroom only had a queen bed. The resort was wonderful and the room was nice.

This condo is perfect for the price! It has all of the basics and more! We found the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, and snorkel equipment especially useful. There is a partial view of the ocean from the patio that is beautiful. The grounds of the condo are well kept and gorgeous. The private beach has a 100% chance of sea turtles (even sometime chilling on the beach!) and is great for snorkeling. We even saw whales from the shore! The owners were very accommodating when we had some minor building issues (that were out of their control). I would recommend this place to anyone who will be out & about enjoying the island for most of their time.

A beautiful and private location. We could have easily spent our whole time here on the premesis, but chose to do a few short day trips to explore other nearby beaches. The location has pretty much everything you need. Just missing beach towels and a lot of the snorkel gear and the beach umbrella was broken, but you can easily pick those things up at any store down the road. We would definitely stay here again!

Great pool. Good for kids if you don’t want them in the ocea . Air conditioner very noisy and cycles frequently on and off. Very nice unit though. Nicely located near shopping. Adults can maneuver beach area walks.

The grounds are clean and well kept. The condo I was in was as advertised and well stocked with the necessities, an easy walk to the grocery store and several restaurants. The beach comes and goes with the seasons but is generally pretty good. Lots of turtles out front and good whale sightings.

The location is pretty good, just beside the beach. It's located in a property called Maui Condos and mostly its a peaceful neighborhood. The patio directly opens into the lawn followed by swimming pool and into the pacific ocean. The house is wonderful with all amenities fixed. Perfect for vacation and relaxation

The grounds were beautiful at this condo with a view of the ocean. The room was good, well stocked. Good for one person. The only thing I didn’t care for was the noise from the road. All in all it was a good experience.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week and we could not be any happier with the property! You walk out the back door to the pool area which is heated with showers to wash off. You are about 2 mins down the road from a market, coffee shop, snorkel rentals. Keep in mind there are snorkels at the property, 3 beach chairs and a noodle so save your money on that! My only room for improvement is some of the utensils were dirty, but other than that you will love your stay!

We couldn't be more pleased with this condo. It was spotless and the information on the listing was accurate. While the unit was across the pool, it was surprisingly always quiet, so relaxing in the Lanai with the beach view was much enjoyed. Guests/residents were very respectful of the peace in the complex. Parking was immediately right outside. It was close to many eateries, with Napili, Kaanapali and Lahaina just a few minutes drive away. Will definitely rent this place again.

Overall, we were happy and would consider staying again for a return trip. Once you look out through the large window and sliding door out back where the lanai is, it becomes a small little paradise.
The grounds are very nice and lush with a view of the ocean slightly to the left. The pool is large and cleaned every day. There is access to a small but very nice beach to the far left. In addition, there is a walkout to a rocky point. It has a secure ladder attached to a rock where the water is deep. You can enter there to snorkel or swim. We saw more than one turtle there when enjoying morning coffee.
The condo interior is dated, but we found it all to be very clean and comfortable. It was fine for two adults. We really liked that we could go grocery shopping to stock the refrigerator, cook our own meals, and make coffee.
Now for the caveats. If you read the other reviews, the only room that is air-conditioned is the bedroom. It's an upper in-wall unit that has the typical noisy thrum to it. There was a note posted to not run it lower than 72 degrees and to not leave the bedroom sliding door open to try and cool the entire floor with it. However, when we arrived the door was open and it was set at 68 degrees.
We stayed in early September when Maui was having warm weather with temps in the high 80s. We arrived later at night and the interior was hot and stuffy. We immediately thought we made a mistake renting this unit, but the bedroom was nice and cool. We slept with the bedroom door open halfway and the rest of the floor cooled down overnight to a temperature that was comfortable enough. We are guessing it was stuffy and hot at first due to it being empty and closed up for a few days before our stay.
We got used to the thrumming noise of the air-conditioner, but the sound does remind you of a cheap hotel. We found that if the breeze was blowing and it was not too warm outside, you could open the vents above the front door or open the front door (there is a screen door as well) and then open the rear slider, and you would get a nice breeze running through the unit. We figured out when and when not to open the doors. If you are staying when it's not so hot, it may not be an issue.
The pots and pans (located in the oven) need replacement. The Teflon coating on all is worn out, flaking, and not safe to cook on. There are plenty of utensils, but the knives are not very sharp.

We stayed here and enjoyed every minute of it!! The condo has everything you need including beautiful grounds kept pristine, a beautiful pool (right outside your door), clean, well kept grills where you can grill while looking at the ocean!! We also truly enjoyed that the property has access to a beautiful beach where we saw plenty of turtles! The location is another added bonus, it’s close to the super market, delicious eateries and more beautiful beaches!! I could go on and on about the beauty of this place so grab it if you can!!

Beware of renting this property. It was expensive, and when we arrived, it was filthy. Sand, dirty towels, sandy snorkel gear throughout the bathroom. Full trash in the kitchen, dishwasher full of dirty dishes, messy/used bed, food in freezer. Contacted the company when we arrived, they came, cleaned until 11 p.m., did not finish, said they would return the next day, never did. Kitchen, dining room, and living room were never cleaned. I attempted to get the PIN for using the in-closet safe, they never gave it. I emailed them with my questions and concerns, they emailed back someone would get back to me - we were there 4 nights and no one did. Stove doesn't work properly; the biggest burner only has a high temperature, despite turning it down to low. Very disappointed. The best thing about the unit is the shower - great water pressure, large stall. Beautiful pool and it's near the unit. Those 2 things are the only saving graces of this unit.

Resort is beautiful and our children enjoyed the games ping pong, tennis court and the disc game. Only downside was the kids couldn’t laugh loudly or jump in the pool even though it doesn’t have anything about jumping or diving on the pool rules posted.

We stayed this place for 5days. It was our first Maui trip. I have two boys and they loved the pool which is just in front of our room. It was great. Great location and very clean place. Beautiful scenery from the condo and we can see some sea turtles too! We would like to stay here again.

I give the rental 2 stars overall: 4 stars for the condo itself and 1 star for the management company. If I were the owner of this condo, I would get a different management company.
Pros:
- Condo is lower floor and has easy access to pool.
- Condo is well taken care of.
- Has some recreation items (beach chairs, etc.) that were worn but at least there were some. Experience at Kuleana, lets me know that some of these are left by previous renters to be reused buy others.
Cons:
- like many of the condos of this era, ventilation is primary source of cooling, but hard to get ventilation of this unit. No fans were provided for moving air through the condo, the ceiling fans don't work to move air from vents in the bedroom to lanai screen. One or two inexpensive standup fans would help greatly with air circulation.
- Management company did not leave enough towels or complete bedding for 4 people. They don't respond except for emergencies after 5. Check in is 4. Missing items were not provided until 7:30 at night on Sunday. We arrived Saturday afternoon. Even then, some of the bedding they brought was packed in plastic bags and had mold/mildew when removed from the bags. There are many rental management companies in Maui. Most will bring items they forgot to supply almost immediately and then be sorry for the disruption of your vacation. These guys definitely had their rules and felt their time was more important than their guest.
- This must be the only management company that does not supply any beach towels. You look around at the 100+ condos here and the other renters. You always see obvious "resort beach towels". This company said they didn't supply "beach amenities". The listing does say they do. If they are not going to supply beach towels they need to update their listing.
- The condo wasn't as clean as I expected. After we cleaned the kitchen and surrounding area it was better. I shouldn't have had to do this.
If not for relatives in another unit at Kuleana we wouldn't have had enough bath towels or bedding for our first night. Our relatives let us borrow extra bath towels so we could all shower after the long flight to Maui. They also had some missing bedding items for the hide-a-bed that we borrowed. If they weren't there, we probably would have gone to a hotel and canceled this reservation. We were that upset at the response from the management company.

The owner and property manager were very responsive in communications. The condo is in a beautiful location. Pool right in front of us and a short walk to the shoreline to BBQ and watch the whales frolic in the ocean. The grounds and pool were well maintained and cleaned everyday. It truly was a piece of paradise!

Great location! Beautiful sunsets and beach right outside the front porch. Very comfortable bed! The AC unit works wonderful. A couple things that I wish this unit had are, more utensils in the kitchen, better pots and pans for cooking, and beach towels. Don’t be fooled by the sliding glass door in the bathroom. More towels are available in there. If you are arriving later in the evening to this unit try to receive the door code before landing. It sure was a bit stressful trying to make contact and get ahold of the owner or office to be given the code for the door. Overall, beautiful place and location!

The swimming pool was fantastic, and swimming in ocean behind the lot was also great saw turtles each time we got in the water. Lots of fish in the rocks to view when snorkeling.

We had a great time here. The condo was cute and suited myself and my husband great. Also, we had a PRIME location, right by the pool, close to the grills, a quick walk to the beach; we couldn't have been happier. Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels were so useful, especially since we didn't bring any of that with us. Overall, would recommended and will likely be back!

This was the perfect property for my family and I to stay at (husband and infant). There is so much space in the condo, it could have easily hosted 4 adults. Also loved that the condo is ground floor with very easy keyless entry. The location is perfect as it has its own access via 4 min walk through the property to the start of the Wailea beach path, where others pay $$$$ to stay at one of the nice resorts, but you get the same view (with fewer crowds) at this location. Everything was so clean and updated, and Simone was very easy to communicate with. We appreciated the ample towels, boogie boards, and beach chairs. The only thing that could’ve made this rental better was a pack n play for children, since there’s plenty of space to put one if a family requires it.

This property was amazing. We can't even begin to describe how perfect it was. First of all it was so clean! It had everything we possibly needed while we were there. The kitchen is perfect for cooking in, and the lanai (patio) overlooks the grounds and the ocean. They have all the little extras you might need (laundry soap, dish soap, tp, etc) and so many supplies for your beach ventures (chairs, umbrellas, a little table, snorkel gear, etc.). The ground here are immaculate, they take great pride in a beautiful place, and it is quiet and respectful with families, couple, it is just great for everyone! The pool is right outside your door, and it is just a short walk to the ocean. Turtles are literally playing out by the ladder all the time, but especially around 3pm. Rather than go on and on which I could I can just simply say that you should rent this if you want an amazing experience. We have rented many times with VRBO and this is definitely one of the best! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your beautiful place in paradise!

My friend and I had an amazing stay at this property. It was comfortable (including the bed) and had everything beach-wise we needed for our stay. I couldn’t get over how beautiful the water was and how many turtles were swimming around the area. So awesome to have a great snorkeling spot right there on the property and when standing on the water by the beach, the turtles swim around you! Really glad we brought an inflatable SUP as the water was nice and calm a lot of the time and perfect for paddling around. The property and beach do not feel crowded at all, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. After bopping around West and South Maui a bit on our trip, I really feel like this place is a gem and I can’t wait to go back!

Excellent location, easy walk to the pool, very short walk to small beach. Lovely views from the lanai. As some have stated, the kitchen is small for the serious cook, but worked just fine for our needs (family of 4). Outdoor BBQ just past the pool with a gorgeous view while cooking on the grill. Can't beat this location for daily swims and sun with the kids!

This is our 3rd time staying at this condo #305 Kuleana. Another wonderful experience for our 11 days. This year there were turtles sun bathing on the beach especially at sunset. Also right off the beach at least 10-20 huge turtles. The pool is just steps right off the condo lanai. The condo is furnished with everything you need from beach chairs, to A/C, to spices if or cooking. Also this condo is located perfectly to great beaches on the Westside of Maui-Honulua Bay, Kapalua, Airport, Slaughterhouse beaches.

This condo is in a beautiful location north of Lahaina and just south of the Napili coast. The one bedroom condo is economically furnished with a bonus of high quality beach chairs. The ground floor condo looks out over a 20 yard pool comparable to the one at my gym and perfect for lap swimming which I did every day. Steps away from the condo is a bench to watch unsurpassed sunsets, with Jeffrey the local conch player marking the event. Outdoor BBQ's are also available. Beaches, turtle watching and snorkeling are just steps away. There were minor repair issues that the manager and maintenance man responded to immediately. This condo is ideally situated for access to fine snorkeling beaches up the Napili coast and great shopping and restaurants in Lahaina. The condo furniture is basic which is consistent with the very reasonable cost of the unit. With the exception of a lack of a frying pan, the condo was well stocked with household and cooking items. The bedroom has air conditioning and my wife and I were very comfortable. Road noise was barely audible and the bed was comfortable. Finding the condo and accessing it were easy due to the clear instructions that came with the condo packet. Neighbors were friendly and quiet and despite the size of the complex, I never got the feel of being around a lot of people. Internet access was excellent. I rate the condo as 4 stars only because I can't afford a 5 star luxury furnished condo.

The condo is really nice. It is very clean and comfortable. All things which you need for a sunny vacation are inside - also beach toys for children. The pool area is in front of the condo and it is just less steps far away from the ocean. Camille is very friendly and helpful. She answers very quickly. Mahalo for the wonderful time!

My wife and I had a great time a Kuleana over Christmas. The condo was nice and clean. Memory mattress was nice to sleep on. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and for the beach had the chairs and umbrella. We did not need ac in the bedroom, just the ceiling fan was good. We would also open the front door and the back door and get a real nice breeze thru the unit. Unit has a great location it is just steps from the pool and grilling. Made it very easy to go to the pool, beach or grilling. Has a decent ocean view from the lanai. The complex is maintained very well. Also talking with one of the workers there, i guess they are in the process of making a putting green, being a golfer that would be pretty nice. Hope to come back again.

My 12 year old son and I spent a wonderful time in this condo. The lanai is a few feet from the pool, yet it's quiet and private. You will get an ocean view on top of it all. Napilii and Kapalua were just a few driving minutes away. Restaurants and groceries are also close by.
The unit was clean and well maintained. You also have the option for A/C or ceiling fans.
The unit also has a couple of snorkells and boogie boards.
I'm looking forward to going back soon.

The unit was a great place to stay while visiting Lahaina. The location is the best thing about this Kuleana unit. This ground floor unit is perfectly situated by the pool, BBQ grills, and beach access, and within walking distance to many stores.

The Kuleana condo complex is gorgeously landscaped with an outstanding view of the ocean and beautiful small beaches. It also has a wonderful pool open until 9:00 PM, with almost no resulting noise. The condo has a lovely location near the pool, which was terrific for my 3-year-old granddaughter. Being on the ground floor gave us a much larger area to enjoy rather than the small balcony in 2nd floor units. The condo was easy to access with a lockbox set to the last four numbers of your telephone number. The bedroom was very pleasant with a memory foam bed and terrific air-conditioning. While the living/kitchen area did not have air-conditioning, with both the ceiling fan and bedroom door open for cooling, that area was comfortable most of the time. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, plates, cups, and utensils. The only item I would add to the kitchen equipment would be a large strainer for draining pasta. The bathroom and shower were fabulous with a large step-in shower that easily held me and my granddaughter, with room for her to dance! The only unsatisfactory item was the mattress on the pull-out couch; it was all coils and virtually no padding. I had to put quilts and blankets on top of the mattress to make it sleepable. Perhaps a memory foam topper would make a big difference. In all, I felt more relaxed than I had for a long time and would definitely recommend this unit to friends.
