Alex and Michelle are fantastic hosts. Their communication before our visit was so helpful! Their condo has been beautifully updated and everything we could have possibly needed was provided. We loved relaxing on their lanai and watching the surfers and boogie boarders. The views and sunsets were stunning. The location is perfect. We walked to dinner every evening. We also enjoyed the pool and bbq area. We loved their condo so much that we have booked another stay in their gorgeous home!

This is an ideal place to stay. The property, Kona Reef Resort condominium, is perfectly located as it is close to many shopping centers on one side but also evenly positioned to visit beaches to the north or to the south from it. The view from the room is gorgeous as you are looking at waves right in front of your eyes. Condo is very clean and convenient. Alex, the property owner, is very thorough in explaining everything that is very helpful especially for people who come there for the first time. The entire process of renting was very smooth and easy. Special thanks to Alex for directly communicating with us and setting up everything needed for arrival way in advance and not within 3 days before the rental period. We will return to the same place next year - this is our decision that says all one need to know.

The condo we rented in Kona was absolutely beautiful. The location was stunning! Communication with Alex went above and beyond. His hospitality was phenomenal. He recommended many things to do in the local area, which was very helpful. His condo is stocked with everything you would need for a nice day. The resort itself is in a nice location with easy walking to shops, restaurants, and everything you would need. I highly recommend this kind of accommodation in Hawaii! It was fantastic.

We had an amazing time staying at this VRBO on the Big Island. The location couldn’t have been better—literally steps from the ocean, with stunning views and the sound of the waves creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing vacation.The home was exactly as described, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay. What really stood out, though, was the host. They were incredibly helpful and responsive, checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly and offering local tips throughout our trip.Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a peaceful, oceanfront getaway with a great host. The comfortable and immaculate waterfront unit is recently and beautifully updated. Proprietor Alex --- eho is always available by phone or text -- has made certain it contains just about anything you might need for your stay, the beach, and snorkeling. The Kona Reef complex is meat, clean and has a wonderful oceanfront swimming pool and grassy frontage. Ideal location, great kitchen, cozy king bed with plenty of closet space. You can't askbfor better. We'll be back.

We love the Kona Reef and this is by far the best of the three condo's we've stayed in there. We have already booked our next reservation. Some of the little things we appreciated include the comfortable lounge chair on the lanai, the Brita filter in the fridg so we didn't have to buy bottled water, and the living room lighting being good enough for reading! Alex stayed in close touch with us to make sure that all our needs were met.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The views and the sounds of the ocean were relaxing and the location was highly desirable. The sunsets every evening were beautiful.

"Wow" is all we could say when we walked in this condo. This condo has everything you can think of, a well stocked kitchen for cooking, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, and snorkel gear. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, with high quality sheets and an extra blanket if needed. The view is just amazing, the lanai has high quality, very comfortable patio furniture with views of the beautiful sunsets as well as great entertainment watching the surfers and boogie boarders ride the waves. The owner was very good at communicating, providing great restaurant recommendations, answering questions about the condo, and the island itself. The owners have an exceptional place here, it is very clean, had everything we needed and more. They take pride in this home and it shows, we could not have picked a better place!! A huge Mahalo for your hospitality!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this well appointed condo for two weeks. You will never find a cleaner, more comfortable, convenient to everything rental on the Big Island. Alex and Michele, the hosts, have thought of everything to make your stay memorable. They provide valuable information about dining, tours, driving directions, food trucks, etc. I could go on and on. And, they are always available if you have questions. The views from the lanai are incredible! We woke up to cruise ships right in front of us a few mornings and surfers riding huge waves other mornings. It was always a delight. Walking to town took five minutes if we wanted to shop or have lunch or dinner. I can's say enough about this condo. If I could, I would give it ten stars!!!!

We have rented vacation rentals at the Kona Reef many times before, but this was the best experience we have encountered. The owner of the condo. Alex Douglas was very helpful in making our stay a pleasurable experience. Whenever we had a question we were able to contact him imediately for an answer. First of all words cannot describe the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea and the beauty of Kona. This condo is a haven with all of that and more including whale watching from the Lanai ( balcony) and glorious sunsets. Wait before you get outdoor supplies as there are matts, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and scuba gear. Everything in the condo was clean and in working order. The communication with Alex was as easy as communication with a good friend, always available with caring and excellent suggestions. Best vacation ever. Thank you Alex & Michele! Maxine & Bruce

We loved our stay here at Alex and Michele’s condo. It’s located overlooking the shore and provides perfect views of sunsets. It’s quiet, yet conveniently located near all the action in downtown Kona. The kitchen is well equipped, especially for BarBQing on the grills near the pool. We like to eat in most of the time, so we appreciated having all the tools to cook in the condo kitchen.
We also appreciated having more than one luggage rack to unpack our suitcases. Their condo has three! Anything that you need for a trip to the beach is also provided.
Most of all, we appreciated having Alex check in with us to make sure everything was ok and to give helpful suggestions about things to do. Can’t wait to get back to this great place again in the future!

My husband and I stayed here a week in early August, and it couldn’t have been any better! Everything we needed was there, beach towels, chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, binoculars, reef safe sunscreen, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, trash bags, etc. I strongly recommend going to the condo before the grocery store, so you’ll know what you need. Most nights we were able to leave the lanai screen doors open and a wonderful
Breeze went through the condo. On the few nights it was too hot, the air conditioning was there to cool us off. Alex was a wonderful host, giving us suggestions as to what to do, where to go, etc; he was only a text away. The complex has a beautiful pool and an excellent area to grill (with 4 new gas grills) and eat, overlooking the pool area. Also it has beautiful well-kept grounds, a covered parking garage, and is very quiet. We felt safe the entire time, even walking at night to nearby restaurant/shopping areas. It was fun to see surfers from the nearby park, and so cool to see the sunset while dining on the lanai. We had breakfast with coffee overlooking the beautiful waves crashing on the lava rocks and since my husband likes to cook and grill, we ate dinner there more often than at restaurants. We bought fresh mahi and ono (wahoo) at Costco, and it was wonderful. My husband (the cook who brings a knife sharpener) adds that the kitchen was the most complete and well-appointed of any rental we’ve ever used! We can’t wait to come back!

Awesome Condo! Alex makes sure you have everything you need. The ocean is about 10 feet away and you have a perfect view of the sunset every night. Restaurants and shops are just a couple of minute walk away. It is the perfect home base for your Big Island Adventures! We have stayed here multiple times. It’s my wife and I’s favorite!

The condo is located right on the shoreline and the views are spectacular! If there is any doubt, all the snorkel and whale watching tours are right in front our the condo! We are located within 1/4 or less of restaurants and shops! It’s an easy walk for breakfast, lunch or dinner! We enjoyed exploring the island and doing various tours. Alex had some great recommendations such as Greenwell Coffee tour and The Coffee Shack! The Manta Ray swim was a highlight of our trip! Use Sea Paradise if you want to do it! Very professional crew and brand new 50’ catamaran. Alex and Michele are the best host and communicate a lot to make your visit a plus. We will be back!

D12 is a beautiful condo, with an amazing ocean view from the lanai. The entire unit appears to have been renovated/updated sometime within the last few years, and is in excellent condition. The owners (hosts) were some of the best we have ever experienced. Alex went out of his way to accommodate anything we needed, from helpful tips upon our arrival, to providing suggestions on restaurants, and things to do and see on the Big Island. Overall, this condo, and Alex were a huge contribution to us having one of our best vacations ever. I would highly recommend this property, and would definitely stay there again.

Very nice and clean condo. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The ocean view was excellent and entertaining. “Entertaining” because we could watch local surfers anytime the waves were large enough to surf🏄 . Parking was never a issue and was for us abundantly available. The pool area is nice too, making cooling down after sunset, a nice finish to the day.
“Kona downtown” is a short stroll away and easily accessible. Alex the host was very communicative and never difficult to reach. The large king bed and pillows made for a solid night rest.

This condo is in an excellent location. It's right on the ocean with a very quick and easy walk to downtown. The condo has been updated nicely and is very well kept. It was extremely clean. Alex was fantastic to work with and was very helpful. The condo has great airflow so you can sleep with the windows open and hear the ocean at night. The sunset view from this location can't be beat. I would only stay here when visiting the big island.

This condo is right on the water with gorgeous sunsets and the sound of crashing waves all day long. It has a comfy bed, modern kitchen, & tidy bathroom. One complaint--the AC only lasts for 60 minutes & then you have to restart it. This was only a problem on day 1 when we entered the condo already overheated. The rest of the time, we had windows open & the steady breeze & fans kept things comfortable (and I'm picky about being hot, so honestly, it was 90% ok).
Alex the owner is very friendly and communicative. One very small complaint--he was maybe a tad *too* communicative with lots of phone calls to check in.
Beach chairs are Tommy Bahama, but the taller kind (easy on the knees) that don't have backpack straps or a built in cooler. Lots of bags/coolers/towels available. We bought our own pool noodles (after 3 stores, found them at Wallmart).
Easy check in with keyless entry. TV in the bedroom has HDMI plug in (just unplug the cable box) for streaming from a laptop.
Condo had a full week's supply of laundry detergent & D/W soap. We had to buy more TP. Would love a couple more washcloths in the bathroom.
Would definitely stay here again. Enjoy your vacation if you book here!

We don't even know where to begin in reviewing this amazing condo. Everything about it was perfect! It is spotlessly clean-something that we really appreciate. The view is outstanding. We loved watching the crashing waves, surfers, and dolphins from the comfortable shaded lanai. Since we have been to Kona many times, we opted not to rent a car. The location of this condo was perfect-tons of fabulous restaurants and happy hours within a short walking distance. We had our groceries delivered from the brand new Safeway. It was really easy and worked out perfectly. Alex, the owner is absolutely fantastic to work with-friendly, helpful, great communication, and lots of local tips! Each day we stayed at the condo we loved it just a little bit more! We've already booked it again for next year.

This ocean front condo was perfect! It was steps from the black rocks and ocean. The waves could be heard crashing all the way to the bedroom (great sound to fall asleep to!) and the ocean breeze was so constant that we didn’t even need to turn on the AC. Our favorite area was the lanai, where we had the perfect spot for sunsets. It is just a short walk to Ali’i Drive where there is an abundance of restaurants and shops. The hosts were super friendly, communicated with us from initial booking and offered recommendations for everything we wanted to see and do while on the big island. If we ever have the opportunity to visit again, I hope we can arrange to stay here! Mahalo

-When we arrived the place was immaculate and even better than the pics on the listing. Not a piece of sand, hair or dust to be found. NO smelly cleaning products were used! Thank You! Huge peninsula in the kitchen, perfect dining table and big coffee table. Soft-close drawers & cabinets. We stayed for 10 days and found everything we needed. Keys, rules & info readily available. -Keyless entry and backup lockbox key were great/easy. Screen door was so nice for the day and night breezes. We used the hat rack, which was super instead of having a collection of visors, ball caps and sunhats strewn about. -Washer/dryer worked great. (NOTE: There are reusable shopping bags up in the closet - grab them before you go shopping.) Also - broom, dustpan & cleaning stuff in the closet. Used the large, soft cooler with Blue Ice packs for our beach picnics. -Used the beach chairs and umbrella the whole time. We were glad they were regular-height beach chairs and not the low sand chairs, but you can rent those down the street if you like them, better. -Three luggage racks in the bedroom! Wooden and plastic hangers - for strappy sundresses. There is an old-school collapsible drying rack in the closet. We put it on the balcony and used it all week. Lamp on each side of the bed, ceiling fan and floor-fan (Dyson cooling). 6-drawer dresser and ceramic tray near the TV for jewelry. Mirrored closet doors, which is nice. -Clean towels & bathmat. Rainhead shower and controls at entry (no getting wet while turning on). Soft-close toilet seat and lid! Enough room on the counter for both our toiletries. -Unit location is great. Second floor (we felt comfortable leaving the slider open and the lanai screen closed at night). Very few people walk past the unit as pool access is below. You cannot hear any pool noise or the pool gate - those poor units by the gate!! Even the unit/lanai is between the palms... not even a tree in the way of the VIEW. -The Lanai - unreal. Loud, crashing waves, sunsets, spinner dolphins cruising by... so perfect. Outdoor table, chairs and lounge are great. Only the two beach chairs and umbrella were outside (our friends' rental unit had so much crap piled on their lanai most of the space was unusable). We put the umbrella & chairs in the rental car all week. Out of room to type more...just book it! Thanks Alex & Michele!

Alex is an amazing host. He is very communicative and has a wealth of knowledge about the Big island. He was so helpful during our trip with lots of recommendations. You couldn’t ask for a better location on the Big Island if you want to just walk into town. There’s so much to do on this island we will definitely come back. The condo was well stocked with all kinds of pots and pans and anything a person would need to cook a full meal. They also have snorkel gear, beach towels, beach chairs and even an ice chest. This is definitely been a five-star experience.

The condo was perfect. Alex’s communication was great from the very start. He made sure everything was ready and easy to access. Parking our rental was easy and when we didn’t want to drive the local restaurants and shopping was about a 10 minute walk away. We loved listening to the ocean because it was literally about 15 feet away. Our first morning dolphins swam by. Great view of sunsets too! Neighbors were quiet. I can’t say enough good things about the condo. If fact the next time we visit the Big Island we are going to make sure it’s available again!

Five stars are not enough for rating D-12! We spent the first 2 weeks of February in this beautiful condo and had a wonderful time. The condo has been fully remodeled and is beautifully decorated. We cook in frequently and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We were comfortable from the very start. Alex and Michelle are perfect hosts and very attentive to their guests' needs. The location can't be beat for walking into the village which we enjoy on a daily basis. We highly recommend booking this lovely condo for a stay in Kona.

Our stay at this condo was outstanding. The interior is open and welcoming. The decor is lovely. The lighting is perfect for reading (some places have no lights by the couch). The lovely lanai overlooks the ocean and is perfect any time of day. The kitchen has everything you could want to prepare meals. Although we ate out often, we did prepare meals and the kitchen was perfect for that. The bed was super comfortable. Having a washer/dryer right there was really a bonus. The condo is about 3 blocks from many eateries. I can’t recommend this condo highly enough.

This was our 6 th stay in Alex and Michelle's condo. We love everything about it! The location is perfect for walking and exercising. We cook at the barbecue most evenings and the condo has EVERYTHING anyone would need.

This condo is everything you could imagine. Wonderful view, setting on the lanai, not more than 75 feet from the ocean. Very clean and fully furnished with anything you may need to enjoy a vacation; beach supplies, kitchen supplies, even laundry supplies. Alex was very helpful with any questions I had and was very attentive in making sure our stay started off good; he was just a phone call away and always available. Do you want a quiet spot where the only disturbance is the crashing of waves and the calls of birds straight out of a Martin Denny recording while being walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping? This is the place. It is a super comfortable base for exploring the island. Great views of the surf, rocks, sunset, and apparently adjacent to a spot popular with surfers. So, you have the added fun of watching those who love to navigate the water and the rocks. I feel like I found the perfect spot with this condo. Owner is super communicative for all your needs.
