First time in Kauai and spent 7 days. Smallish second floor unit so no noise from above - great. Got used to rooster crows after the second night. Location fantastic - close to beach, river kayaking, Smith's Family Luau, chocolate farm, hiking trails and great restaurants (Sam's and Lava Lava. Unit well stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and even water shoes. Kitchen very small, but had sufficient cutlery and dishware, coffee machine, small microwave, a toaster and a mini-fridge. No access to Islander washer/driers so had to wash in tub. Price was right so would definitely visit again.

Great central location. It's close to the airport and half way to Princeville or Waimea. Islander on the Beach is a nice clean resort right on the beach. There are restaurants, shopping and a grocery store across the street.
The room is an end unit which was nice because it had an extra window that brought in a lot on sunlight. The room is small but has everything you need including beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler, boogie boards, etc. It's perfect for a couple and maybe a small child.
My only complaints are the room was dimly lit at night time and the bathtub didn't drain properly. I texted Kristen with the issues and she was very responsive. She was able to get a plumber to come out on a Sunday.

214 was clean and located in the perfect spot on the east side of the island. There is a market you can walk to with food, tourist shops, and the best hidden gem restaurant called The Sleeping Giant. The grounds were some of the prettiest we saw on the entire island. Worth a stay simply for the flowers! 214 had all the extra things we needed such as boogie boards, umbrellas, beach towels, beach chairs with cooler pockets, coffee pot, aloe Vera, etc. it even had welcome chocolates and gifts. The nearby beach is a 2-minute walk and there is a pool/tiki bar. We saw mostly families and nice couples, no riff raff. The condo is 10 minutes from the airport and other conveniences like SafeWay and Ross. The only “negative” is the ocean view is limited due to the condo location on the property. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend to others and stay again!

Great location to shopping and eats without having to drive anywhere for dinner, we loved that! Close to the airport as well, traffic in Kapa’a can be really bad certain times of the day though, but that’s Hawaii. My only negative would be the tub drain was pretty moldy and gross for baths for my youngest. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Good books to read. Close to the beach, plus there was a nice pool and hottub. Can't remember corresponding with Kristen, but didn't feel a need to. The place had everything we needed. We would love to return someday.
Still waiting on the return of our security deposit.

I thought the room and place where in a great location. I like the fact that this was right on the ocean and also had a nice swimming pool, jacuzzi area along with a pool side bar that was open from 3pm to 9pm. This location was also within walking distance of restaurants and shopping with plenty of parking. The room had a very strong bad smell. It smelled like mold or mildew. I checked everywhere for it and I could not find the source. I thought maybe it was coming from the air-conditioner or in the walls? I left the sliding door open all of the time. I bought a fragrant candle to burn. These things helped but the smell was really strong. When I got home I had to wash everything because everything smelled like that bad room smell. The other issues I had was there was a small cockroach in the bathroom sink in the middle of the night. It looked to me like a German cockroach. I was concerned because they can travel home with you and multiply quickly. I did look in the cupboards and drawers and throughout the room but did not see anymore. There was a cockroach trap located under the bathroom sink which told me they knew about it and it was not disclosed. It would have been nice to know because I don't want cockroach problems in my home from a vacation stay. The sliding door to the balcony was really hard to slide open and close. I could never get the TV or Cable to work because the remotes didn't respond to turning on the TV or Cable. Directions to use these remotes would have been nice. The gift basket looks like it has been used over and over again. It was dirty and kind of gross. The gift was very nice. Thank you. The room was not cleaned well. The glass coffee table had children finger prints all over it and the edges, the bathroom vanity and sink had long black hair. The inside toilet bowl had black mold. Overall the room has a good location and is equipped nicely and looks nice. I would stay here again if they can address the smell and these other issues

Location location location. Walking distance from just about all the places you need. This unit was fully surprisingly stocked with beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards. We were quite comfortable and enjoyed sitting on the lanai during the rain showers. Would definitely rent this unit again. Still waiting for my deposit to be refunded after 2 weeks.

The proximity to the airport made it very convenient for visiting many of the fun spots and attractions. The office staff was very receptive and helpful. There was a problem with some of the lighting but I notified the office to take care of it. Really enjoyed my stay!!

Islander on the Beach #214 is in the heart of Kahana so it is convenient to the amenities that you may need, but also convenient to getting around to the rest of the island. The studio is simply that; a nice comfortable queen sized bed, sofa, mini fridge, sink and kitchen utilities along with a full bath.A nice small deck off the unit, it is close to the resort pool and beach.

We had a great stay, it was small and cozy. It’s great for a couple, a little tight for 4. There was a pull out couch but with it out to make coffee in the morning it was a tight squeeze. It was clean and had a little distance view to the ocean. Air conditioning was nice to have and they had a gift pack on the table for us. We would definitely rent again, thank you

Like they said first impression is what it counts. Good first experience visiting Hawaii, overall Property was great location and you have all you need in the apartment and the best part just a few steps from the beach. Give a 4 stars review due to food under the sofa sits and dirty floors. It needs some attention to details cleaning.

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days. It was a nice property, the location close to the highway meant we could easily access other areas of the island on day trips. The Coconut Marketplace is about one third occupied with shops and take out food. We used the Country Market Place everyday for food supplies and their deli meals. Highly recommended
. The resort staff were pleasant and always available. The pool area was clean and maintained. The beach was not swimmable and we found that was usually the case on most beaches in the winter months on Kauai.
My main complaint would be that the unit is “tired” and really needs updating. Everything is worn out.

The resort property is beautiful from the well maintained tropical landscaping to the pool and lobby. However, the rental unit itself is uninspiring. It is outdated and the kitchen plates/utensils are all just pieced together. The bamboo towel holder needs to be attached to the wall because it blew over and hit me in the head quite hard. The unit also could have been cleaned better. Location is great with plenty of food, shopping, and beach nearby.

We got the best of both worlds staying here. We stayed for 4 nights to explore the entire island of Kauai and this spot helped check off all of our bucket list items.
Starting with being only 15 minutes from the airport, we hopped in our rented car (through Turo) and rode over the beautiful Wailua River and past the Lydgate Beach Park for a short scenic ride to our stay.
Property is right on the beach so no fumbling with packing the car or worrying about sand, showering or change of clothes for a beach day. Sunset AND sunrise incredible just steps from the room.
Right on the edge of Kapa'a, we were just 1 hr from Waimea Canyon, 1.5 hours to Awa'awapuhi trail and the Kalalau Lookout (far north), 45 minutes to Hanapepe (west), and 40 minutes to Hanalei.
This versatility let us hit all of our hikes, free farmers markets, beaches, and photo moments.
Can't wait to plan a trip back.

Certainly not a resort vibe and that's just what we were looking for. The pool is clean and not far away and just beyond the pool is a small beach areas where you can just chill or go out and snorkel. We saw turtles in the water several times. The room is adequate with everything needed including a coffee maker with filters. There was even coffee there for us! The use of the beach chairs was an added plus and was great to have for beach visits. Thanks again for being part of making our 10 year anniversary memorable!
