We’ve been to Kahana Sunset multiple times but this was our first experience in the A Units. A4 is absolutely fantastic. The view is amazing and the setup is incredibly functional. Setting aside a couple minor issues with an A/C unit and the stove, this unit was amazing. Take all the snorkel trips you like to “see turtles” but you will never see more than directly below this unit. Are you looking to go to Hawaii and do nothing but be in the water and make some incredible meals, this is your stop.

It's a beautiful place to stay, and working with Sullivan is an easy way to make it happen. Just be aware if you're looking at old pictures, the beach area has changed dramatically. It's still good though! There were whales and turtles constantly in sight

Our stay was superb in every way. The location was right on the water. The grounds were maintained brilliantly and the parking was easy and close enough to not hassle with bags and multiple trips to the car were not a big deal. Epic views and the accommodations in A4 were beautiful.

Beautiful experience in A4, second trip back within a year! The views from the condo are breathtaking— sitting on our balcony and watching sunrises , sunsets and whales — and just a few steps away snorkeling with sea turtles on a small, private like beach. Our family of 5 (including 3 teen boys) were comfortable in the condo - great kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Kahana Sunset is a very special place and we feel so fortunate to have been a guest here.

The unit (A4) was great. The amenities were nice. We liked the family oriented environment. The beach at Kahana Sunset was horrible. There was no beach at all and that was a huge disappointment for us, because the pictures (and visits to the location in the past) led us to believe there was a beach to enjoy on sight. There was no beach at all. This takes it from a 5 star rating to a 2.5 star rating for me and my family.

We are Kahana Sunset Regulars, for a reason. This is a special piece of Paradise and unit A4 is one of our favorite units. Unobstruced views of Molokai and the beautiful blue ocean. The unit is updated, comfortable, exctremely clean and includes everything you would need to have a wonderful carefree vacation. We loved it so much, we are already booked for A4 for next year! Kahana Sunset is what Aloha is all about!

Pros: nice sized condo for family overlooking the water. Beach. Pool. We order pizza and enjoyed watching the waves crashing in to sea wall one night from common area which was fun.
Cons: master bed very soft/uneven sagging in the middle. We had sore backs the whole time. Pull out sofa bed was not comfortable so we bought a cheap memory foam topper from Walmart which helped at lot. The condo is close to Napili Bay (nice beach where hiking trail begins along coast) which is why we picked this spot but it is not safe walking there (no sidewalks) so we had to drive. Ended up not spending much time at condo/Kahuna Sunset. The view to ocean is blocked by railings when you sit down so we ended up going out to public area to view ocean. Two of our ACs stopped working one night. We ended up cleaning filters which were very dirty and got one of them to work. The next day maintenance fixed the other one. The beach is tiny and at high tide it disappears. When we arrived, there was a very toxic smell that I hated having the breath in. I think it was a strong cleaning detergent or maybe bug spray.
I thought it was ok, but I wouldn’t pay this much to stay there again being that we are an active family, didn’t use the facilities much, the views were obstructed unless you are standing up and you can’t safely walk any where from condo.

Beautiful spot! Our first time staying at Kahana Sunset and would definitely come back to this beautiful condo again. Very roomy and nicely appointed, kitchen had everything we needed. The private beach was a beautiful new addition to our stays on Maui , the water was crystal clear. The grounds are maintained beautifully! It’s definitely a hidden gem.
