We have stayed in various units at Halii Kai at least 10 times over the years, probably more, and keep coming back to this development. This unit is 3 bdrms / 2 baths. It is further from the pool than we would like, but it fit our needs and budget quite well this year. Being on the ground floor was great if you don't like hauling your luggage up stairs, and the spacious lanai opened directly onto the lawn, perfect for a quick morning walk. It was generally clean and comfortable. Three small complaints. First, most of these units have beach chairs for use at the nearby beaches like Mauna Kea and Hapuna. This 3 bedroom unit had one chair suitable for an adult, and 3 that kids could use. We were disappointed that there were not 2 chairs for adults; 4 adult chairs would have been ideal. Second, there was no grill on the lanai. Most units do, including the units next door, but not this one. So that changed our meal plans considerably. To be fair, the "amenities" list did not include a grill, and we will look more carefully when we select a unit for our next stay. Third, the electronic lock on the front door required you to enter 10 digits, and the keypad was quite fussy -- if you did not press the 10 key sequence exactly right, the red light would flash and you would have to start over. This was very frustrating. A 10 digit code seems extreme, when my bank PIN is only 4-6 digits. Bottom line is that we had a GREAT TIME in Hali'i Kai again, and will return.

Wonderful place overall. Every kitchen amenity you could need. Lots of beach supplies. Beautiful pool & hot tub with ocean views. This is a ground floor unit so you don't need to carry luggage up any stairs. Would definitely stay here again & would highly recommend to others!

We loved the house and the entire property! The house was beautiful and so very comfortable. Sitting on the lanai and drinking coffee was so relaxing and perfect to discuss our day's adventure. My grandkids loved the pool and it was so convenient to have the restaurant/bar right there. We enjoyed a delicious lunch a dinner there. If you're looking for an appetizer and drink, try the fried green beans and a Lava Flow. We definitely want to travel back to The Big Island and would book there if available. My many thanks to the owners of the townhouse for creating such a welcoming, beautiful and comfortable place to stay while enjoying Hawaii!

This is in a really nice gated community. The inside of this condo was very clean and well decorated with new everything. There were 4 good beds with lots of pillows. The large neighborhood saltwater pool is beautiful and fancy with a waterfall, lava rocks and plants around it. There are really nice options on different lounge chairs in and around the pool. People were blowing the shells at sunset when we went.

The complex was very clean and cared for. The condo was a nice size and in great condition, very clean. Always nice to have working appliances and laundry. Our big issue was all the rules at the pool and the hot tub. They were very strict about bringing in outside food and drink (water bottles not allowed...). Kids under the age of 14 are not allowed in the hot tub unless a parent is literally sitting with them at the hot tub. If you have active kids like me, the pool experience is like hot potato and there is no relaxation if you constantly have to be with your kids.

We found the condo to be exactly what we wanted. It was clean, well appointed and large enough to allow us to spread out as well as be together when we wanted. The resort was quiet and lovely. The staff was friendly and accommodating including the Ocean Club. The food at the Ocean Club exceeded our expectations while the sunset was magnificent.
Located within 15 minutes of numerous beaches (beach 69 was a favorite),this property was fantastic. If you are looking for hustle and bustle this isn’t the place but if you are looking to relax and be comfortable this is the spot.

The home was a good size for our group of 6 people. It had all the amenities that we needed. The location of the property was very convenient for our travels. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The landscaping was very pretty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house itself was great! Well stocked and nice and clean.
However the queen bed is awful, it’s so noisy you can’t even roll over and the sheets and pillows are old and pilly and worn out.
