I booked this property for my 90-year old brother-in-law and his travel partner. They had never stayed in a vrbo before and I elected to book this rather than his request for a 4-star hotel. They both loved the vrbo. She said it was a perfect location for her to walk to town and they both could easily have access to the beach and the pool. They enjoyed sitting out on their own patio in the evening for cocktails and having a "home" environment for their week in Hawaii.

This condo is wonderful. It came exactly as described. It was clean, easy to access, and well appointed. We especially enjoyed drinking coffee on the lanai in the early morning and swimming in the salt water pool. The sunsets were a daily event. It was a 1 1/2 to 2 mile walk to the heart of downtown where we watched our daughter start her swim in the Kona Ironman competition.
Possible issues included a noisy air-conditioner fan which never cycled off, a missing remote battery, and lack of sponges. If you are looking for beach towels, check the dryer. Overall we had a terrific stay.

The condo was very well stocked with everything you would need . Very clean property, and close to downtown. Very comfortable .Make sure you get the gate code before getting to the unit. It can make accessing the condo a bit of a challenge . We would certainly stay here again, if we came back to Kona .

Arrived and battery on keyless door lock was dead. Called the person of contact and had helped change the battery the next morning. Not a big deal. Condo was pleasantly remodeled with pretty much new everything. Had all the cooking utensils and even spices you'd want. Beach chairs and umbrella were also available. On our last day we tried to contact the property manager and other contact (owner?) to see if we could get a late check out, but neither were accepting our calls...oh well. Still had a great stay.

We honestly really loved the location. Our previous condos have been closer to downtown Kona and this is a bit farther out which was nice. Had its own ocean access with built in beach and two different pools. So convenient. The condo itself was nice and updated and had all the amenities we needed.

4 of us first time in Kona for 2of us. Will have to come back to many things to see. Some observations. Additional bath mats for master bath. One roll of paper towels not enough for 10days. Garbage disposal wasn’t working though that be intentional so people don’t put stuff down they shouldn’t (wise). Place was quiet and comfy. Thank you for letting us use your place

Michael was an excellent host. The Casa was a perfect base for our vacation to Kona. Centrally located, covenient to grocery stores and restaurants.
Michael was attentive to our needs, and one small issue was resolved immediately. I would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone, and would stay again! Plenty of privacy, pleasant staff, and so many good vibes just abounded. Many mahalos Michael, for your patience and understanding, and even extending our stay when we couldnt leave.

Wonderful property and good communication with our host, Michael. Property is very well maintained, clean, beautiful, amazing sunset ritual every night.
Our only ‘complaint’ wouod be that the gated security was a big draw for us but we found the efficiency of the gate itself (how long it would stay open after a car would pass through, essentially allowing many people or cars to pass through on that one cars’ access) to be lacking. That would be our only real negative comment. Our condo was wonderful. Beautiful updated, spacious, clean, amazing updated showers in bathrooms. We look forward to coming back!

The condo had everything we needed for our vacation. From things we needed around the house, to towels for the pool, cushions for the lanai chairs, snorkel gear, beach chairs and umbrellas. Fully equipped and allowed us to truly enjoy our dream vacation in Hawaii.
Michael is a wonderful host, and was always super responsive to any of our questions!
Will definitely stay here again, and looking forward to returning for a visit in the future!

Michael's place was just as advertised - a super clean, well-appointed condo located in a quiet complex with sea front access that's great for watching sunsets, two pools and beautiful landscaping. It also has great amenities, including the little things like nice snorkeling gear, beach chairs, a cooler, etc., for use while visiting. Michael's communication was great, as well - we forgot some things when we left, and he went out of his way to get them back to us.

Beautiful property as depicted on web site. Central location on the sunny side of the Island is perfect to launch family expeditions exploring the many attractions on the big Island. Has all the comforts of home with a store and bus stop located adjacent to the property.

The rental provided everything we needed for a perfect holiday. The unit is clean, quiet, and well-stocked. The resort has a welcoming, small town feel, and you can meet your neighbors for morning coffee or the nightly sunset ceremony. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing getaway.

This two bed, two bathroom condo is wonderful. The location and grounds were more than expected. Everything needed for a week on The Big Island was provided. Perfect place to watch sunsets. Perfect.

Love Casa De Emdecko, the salt water bowl, the faux little beach, the cabana.
We enjoyed staying in this unit , it had everything we needed, being seniors we appreciated being on the ground level.
The resort itself is showing its age , had day without water and a day without hot water, but both problems were fixed as promptly as they good.

We enjoyed our 11 day stay on the Big Island. Our host Mike was very easy to work with and answered our pre-visit and in-visit questions in a timely manner. Always helpful. The property is exceptional. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Both pools (salt and fresh water) inviting and well maintained. Enjoyed the Gazebo and gas grills many times. The call to sunset was an added benefit. The condo has a well stocked kitchen, new appliances, and comfortable beds. Very roomy and plenty of space for the four of us. Enjoyed the lanai each evening. Easy in and out for day trips. We would highly recommend this property.

This is a quiet, oceanfront part of Ali’i drive, no street noises as it is set back behind a small market, with secure parking. We loved this unit as its ground floor with tons of amenities. The owner definitely wants you to feel at home and it shows. Lovely artwork, comfy furniture and beds, even a comfortable pull out sofa. everything you need in the kitchen plus more. The large lanai was great for drying our dive gear out of the sun, and quite private even with a walkway outside. Two pools just steps away, and a nice bunch of folks who blow conch as everyone gathers at the sea wall and tables to celebrate the beautiful Kona sunset. Perfect for our dive vacation, only 20 minutes from Honokohau Harbor, we are already planning coming back and staying at this unit again. Mahalo Mike for letting us enjoy your slice of paradise for a week.

This is a wonderful, lovely, updated condo that has a great location and beautiful grounds. The complex was built in the 1960s so the condos are larger that those that are more recently built. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature palm trees among other tropical plants. We loved the pools and especially the salt water pool that sits oceanside. We didn't bother going anywhere else for the sunset as it is fabulous here, with the addition of some of the regular customers blowing conches nightly as the sun sank into the horizon. This seems to be a popular place for people to stay throughout the winter, so it is mostly an older crowd. Quiet, clean, friendly, close to town--we will stay here again! Oh, and the owners are great to work with, too!

The condo is very spacious, clean, comfortable, and modern. The grounds, pools, and small "beach" area are our favorite among the places we've stayed in the vicinity. Some days we just hung out there rather than go anywhere! There wasn't anything provided for use in the way of beach accessories (toys, chairs, umbrella) compared with other places we've stayed in the past, but that could be due to the recent renovation. We left a boogie board and some sand toys behind so maybe that will be helpful to the next visitor :)

Having been a former condo owner in Kona, I do have a couple of suggestions. The outside entry was dirty and the door mat was disgusting. Our stay was for 19 nights. A vacuum would have been very helpful.

We are a family of three and really enjoyed our stay in this nice apartment. The host was very responsive to the AC problem we had on the first day. The whole apartment and the beddings were clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We also enjoyed watching the sunset just a few feet away from our condo. Great location and very safe place. We weren’t expecting too much since we made our reservation really late so we were really pleasantly surprised by this place! Condo is nicely decorated with great showers. The complex has two pools and a ‘beach’ area and is right in the water. The place was furnished with everything we could want including beach towels. Check in was easy. Location is great. Would happily stay here again.
