We love Papakea and really enjoyed this Condo. It was very roomy for what we needed and great location. It had everything we needed as far as towels, beach gear, etc. It may be a bit outdated for some, but perfect for what we wanted. We would definitely rent this condo again!

The grounds of the resort were beautiful, clean, and nicely landscaped. Loved that it was so close to the ocean and also had pools and hot tubs. Covered patios with plenty of seating to have lunch outdoors and plenty of lawn chairs. Even shuffleboard & putting. Great experience!
Our condo was clean and comfortable. Hot during the day, but we weren’t usually there during the day. The ocean breeze helped cool it off in the evening for sleep. Nice view from the balcony.
My host, Miranda, promptly answered my questions prior to our arrival, reached out to me during our stay to see how things were going, and responded very quickly when I asked for some extra pillows and towels.
My only suggestions would be for the second bedroom to have a Queen or king bed instead of two twin beds and to have a very lightweight bedspread in each room.

There was nothing in this condo. We knew wed have to purchase somw items but we had to purchase laundry soap, toilet paper, etc... things we'd use VERY little of during our stay. So, itll be pretty awesome for the next guest.
Also, lots of cockroaches. Fridge was broken. Lost quite a bit of our cold groceries before they could get a maintenance person out to fix it. No reimbursement for anynof that. NO AC in this unit made it pretty unbearable in August heat.
Then we were there during the hurricane and fire. So we were without power for about 12 hours before we had an incident in the fire, cam back to the resort, still no power. Couldn't get gas. No cell service or wifi. Had to leave a day early to make sure we could catch our flight out with no issues. We dis howver get reimbursed for the one night.
Overall, if I were to ever go back, I definitely would not stay in this specific, super outdated condo. Wasnt worth the miney we saved.

Our stay in Maui was absolutely amazing. Definitely a memorable experience. Will loved that we can grill by the pool as our kids are swimming and the fact the the beach was just steps away from our resort. The stores, restaurants and food trucks were also in walking distance. We will be coming back for sure. Mahalo

This was our family’s third time staying at Papakea. We have stayed in 3 separate units and they are all great.
Our stay at G205 was great. Great view and the unit had all we needed.
No AC was not an issues as long as your allow for the cross breeze and keep the fans going.
Kitchenware such as dishes, glasses, pots and pans, etc could use an updating.

Great mid range accommodations close to Kaanapali and Block Rock. ABC Store next door and Food/Grocery store very short walk away. Perfect view of the pool to keep an eye on the kiddos. Worked great for 2 couples and 1 single on the sleeper sofa. Owner has beach chairs and toys in the closet for guest use. Had a great time here.

My stay was great. The property was as shown in pictures. The pool area is nice and has bbq grills for those that would like to do that. There is no AC in the unit but we didn’t mind too much with the windows open and ceiling fans on. The toilet in the master bedroom wasn’t working for us when we got there but the property manager handled it right away and a new toilet was installed. Overall, it was a great location and we really enjoyed it!

Great place and neighborhood was good. Very close to a little store that sells everything you could need that is just a walk away. Place was very clean. Wish that the ceiling fans went faster since there’s no air conditioning but other then that it was a great place to stay. You were just feet from the ocean but no beach. You have to walk to the next resort to be able to get some sand and enjoy the ocean.

The Papakea Resort was a great location for our week in Maui. The grounds are well kept, neighbors were quiet, and the views were amazing. The unit itself was clean and the sunsets from the lanai were great. Just like most rentals, there are certain amenities that were missing that you would have at home. We cooked most nights using the BBQs at the pool. Never ran into an issue of not having one available. We ran out of a few kitchen essentials, but were able to walk across the street to the supermarket for replacements. Overall, we would give this unit a 9/10.

First off you are in Maui so… it’s almost a 5 star because of that. I find the listing and the reviews do NOT offer an honest opinion of this property AND the resort.
We stayed at this resort twice now. Once in a unit at the ends, and this unit which is in the middle of the property.
Pros: in Maui, great access to shops, food etc. We love the swimming pools and hot tubs, the grounds are spotless, it’s so beautiful. The master bedroom is spacious and nice.
Cons: I don’t understand how any adult could enjoy the back bedroom. The bed is… rough. I don’t need a 5 star mattress but this is in need of an update.
Heat? I know there is no AC, repeat no AC, but that back bedroom is a sauna—with all windows open (extra fan in room is broken), took one from master bedroom and it is ok. It is warm in the room. You need doors open and patio doors open to get any breeze.
LOUD. This is more a knock on the resort. Two nights in a row adults were screaming at each other and since you are in a middle unit it is LOUD. They were running around screaming, hitting garbage cans, etc. How did the management not stop this? And if no management is on duty… that is even worse cus yer on your own.
One night at the pool people were blasting their own music—again no management to stop it.
Birds—no one has ever mentioned the birdzilla attack every morning at 3AM??
So the resort management was really concerning. It seemed a few years ago this was not the case. Maybe Covid has reduced staff numbers which is understandable, but once you check in, they stay behind their glass walls and you enter the jungle on your own. It just wasn’t as friendly as I remembered.
The unit is decent. TV is old but yer there for the beach, unit is outdated but again, most time is spent outdoors.
I would recommend staying on an outside unit if you stay here.
Maui is amazing. Just don’t expect anyone making you feel good about paying your money to stay here. They almost make you feel like they did you the favor and you barely made the cut. Which with the demand maybe that’s true.

My family and i truly enjoyed our stay here. There are so many things to do in this resort, you literally dont even need a car as everything is so close. Manager is very responsible and is available immediately for any issues.
