It was a great rental, affordable, with great location! The unit could use some updating in comparison to other units, but when you look past what it needs, it truly is a slice of heaven. Perfect view for the sunset, and whale watching in season. Nice, quiet, private complex, plenty of parking, all the nuts and bolts you need in a condo stay. I would stay there again, if it helps anyone on the fence about another location. Great Lanai space. You can jump in the ocean right off the property. Only slight diss on the property is you have to leave to get to a beach, where some complexes nearby had their own little beach areas. Unit came with chairs if you did decide to leave the property, which was nice.

My husband and I had an awesome stay at Hale Ono Loa. The condo had everything we needed and was in a great location, close to beaches and restaurants. We loved spending time on the balcony and enjoying the tropical views. Would definitely recommend this rental! A very memorable babymoon.

Hale Ono Loa was a dream. We LOVED staying here. The ocean views, the terrace to watch sunsets, the friendly neighbors, the stairway down to the ocean... Being just above Lahaina away from the resort corridor, but close enough if you wanted to go there. We can't express how much we enjoyed staying here. We will absolutely be back! Mahalo!

Had a wonderful stay. Woke up to a beautiful view of the ocean and well landscaped property. The sunsets were spectacular. The rental had everything we needed. Comfy king bed , kitchen with all essentials, and private lanai to sit out and eat or just enjoy the amazing view. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a/c. Had to sleep with open doors and windows. Overall a great place and shopping, beaches and restaurants nearby.

Let's start with the good:
Big Lanai with a great view. Complex is quiet and very well maintained and you will most likely have the pool and some of the surrounding area to yourself.
Not So Good:
For the price paid, this unit needs some updating, Specifically, the sofa and chair in the Living Room needed reupholstery and the bathroom, aside from being tiny, is old.
Because there is no A/C, the road noise from the road at night can be loud - keep in mind the bedroom window faces this direction.
The Really Not So Good:
I was lucky enough to stay mostly on a weekend so was not impacted but as others have mentioned there was construction in the unit below me (loud!) and some exterior painting going on as well. Had I been there during the week this would have seriously impacted my stay. I realize this is tricky for the owner to be aware of and mitigate for propective guests but it's worth mentioning anyway.
Overall, nice place with good potential. A small remodel (there's that noise again!) is recommended.

Wonderful view in a studio type apartment. Lovely Lanai. Place spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Rental agent very helpful when needed. Nicely decorated. The sun rise comes through the windows over the bed which affects sleeping, road noise from mopeds and garbage trucks in wee hours of morning irritating.

Unit as described, grounds pristine, view impeccable. Only complaint, not even a hello-is-everything-ok phone call from concierge and when I called she had no activity info for Molikini cruise or for Burn'n Love/Elvis shiw, Unit had no broiler pan or even baking pan. To their credit I did not call to ask for one since we needed it right away and just made due with foil that was there, thank goodness.

It was my first time in Maui and I definitely will come back to Maui, maybe to other place but not for the Condo, just to stay in ither areas in Maui like Wailea for instance.The Hale Ono Loa was a good condo! according with the price and with an outsanding view!Maybe i recommend to install air conditioner in unit 311 it was be hot sometimes even in winter.

The unit we stayed in was #311 in Hale Ono Loa in January 2015. The unit was very clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. It was also well equipped, except it did not have beach gear usually provided with other units, such as beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel equipment, etc. We enjoyed the location, but have to give it 4 stars instead of 5 for lack of a swimming beach. There is no public swimming beach within walking distance, but we found some nice beaches just a few minutes drive away in Kapalua. It's a convenient location for visiting Lahaina, Kaanapali, Napili, and north. We stayed 10 days here and 10 days in Kihei. The Kihei beaches were more abundant, but the Honokowai area has more of a tropical, Hawaiian atmosphere, with more variety of things to do. We enjoyed whale watching from the Lanai and did a whale watching tour with Gemini from Kaanapali that was a highlight.

Very clean, easy parking, lovely grounds. The only less than perfect finding: the photo made it seem as if the view from the balcony was just of the ocean. In fact, the balcony looks out over the pool, the deck, the BBQ area, and a large building with a deck on top of it. Still a nice view, but definitely not what the pics showed. Last time we stayed in Lahaina, we were in the Kaleialoha, which was indeed right next to the ocean. Also, no washer/dryer in the unit. But still lovely.

Our third floor one-bedroom condo was perfect for our first trip to Maui. We loved watching the whales from our deck in the mornings and seeing the sea turtles feeding right next to the property in the late afternoon. It was a great place to relax after our many island activities (snorkeling, whale watching, volcano tours, etc.)

For the most part it was an okay experience. There were some items that made the experience not so great for us. For one, we had a garburator issue. The communication with the property manager wasn’t very clear and we had to stay around for them to fix the issue (took 2 days). Certain things didn’t work and we weren’t advised of them. As well, based on the pictures of the unit, it showed a partition wall between the bedroom and the rest of the unit. We needed this as we had our infant with us and the partition wall would allow us to use the rest of the unit while baby spelt in the bedroom. When we arrived, there was no partition wall, which completely changed how we could do naps and bedtime for our infant. He had to sleep off of the kitchen area which made it extremely hard to make dinner while he was sleeping for the night. There was also a lot of noise due to other unit’s renovations. Added to this, there was work being done on the exterior walls of the building (painting, power washing etc). At times, the noise from the power washing and the extra crew painting were noisy. Overall, not exactly the quiet vacation we were imagining for ourselves knowing we were staying on site and using the facilities more then say a couple without a baby.

This condo was just the best. So clean, so well stocked with everything in the kitchen. Also had cooler available for beach time, maps in info on activities too. The view is so delightful. Watched lots of whales from the Lanai and lots of turtles out at the beach wall. Pool and large sun deck never crowded. Neighbors were friendly as i went in search of quarters for the laundry.

We found the property to be ideally located—close (but not too close) to Lahaina and all the Kaanapali development. Our third floor unit had a spectacular view—we could sit in the shade on our deck eating breakfast or lunch, enjoying a mai tai, watching the whales, etc. The unit was very well equipped—had all the essentials and many of the little extras that made it very easy and pleasant to live there for five days. Didn’t need to buy a thing other than food, drinks, and sunscreen!

This property was located just a short distance away from the best food trucks I've ever been to. We are definitely looking forward to visiting the area again in the future. Property was excellent. As soon as we walked in the door we were happy with our choice.
Condo was clean and kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook with.
The view was outstanding, sunsets were spectacular and we saw whales everyday.
Lonnie checked in once we arrived to ensure everything was as expected and was very responsive throughout the process.
If we come back to Maui, we would for sure stay here again.

Our stay was at Hale Ono Loa 311. From the moment we walked into the unit and saw our view from the lanai, we KNEW we had chosen the perfect place for our week in Napili. Great location, very clean, lots of beach equipment for our use. Loved the nearby Farmer's Market and proximity to Kapalua. Easy drive to the blow hole. Cannot say enough good things about this complex and Unit 311. Did we mention the VIEW?!!

It's not easy selecting a condo. It took weeks of research before I took the chance on this one. A balance of cost, location, and ocean/sunset view was what I was looking for, and this condo delivered.The place is modern and clean leaving me with absolutely nothing to complain about. Would definitely stay here again.

I loved this condo. Very quiet location, clean, pest free and awesome views! We were within walking distance to a local store and coffee shop, and cafe. Nice beach park just down the street. The condo is small so I wouldn't recommend for families but that is the only reason. Plenty to see and do for all. No A/C but wasn't really needed with balcony opened and back screen door and windows. Cool brease and shaded balcony area. It was a very good value. You might do better for a view but at a much higher nightly rate. It was on the 3rd floor in an elevator building so disability not a problem and bathroom had nice hand rails to assist moving. Maui is soooo much nicer than Oahu.

We had a wonderful stay!!! Loved our view! We ate breakfast and dinner every night outside on the lanai. A little windy on this side of the island but still was way more beautiful than Kihei. We would definitely stay in 311 again! The only reason that I didn't give this condo a 5 star was because couldn't take a bath because the bathtub was peeling, like someone just painted the tub, everyday it would peel more and more. But other than that it was perfect! Thanks again for everything!

Our stay was wonderful. The condo was clean, updated nicely and its 3rd floor view of the ocean and pool area was really good. The grounds were also well maintained, clean and quiet during our 1 week stay. This condo was very comfortable and we would stay here again. Lots of activities and restaurants nearby in Lahaina. My daughter and I had a great time. Well worth the 40 min drive from the airport. We loved the condo. It was very well stocked with everything we needed. It was clean and had a great ocean view from the wonderful lanai. Sunsets and sunrises coule be viewed right from the bed! Great location. We drove to several very nearby beaches, Napili, Kanapali and Airport Beach watched turtles ( not more than a 5 minute drive) and enjoyed the snorkelling. Farmers Market in the morning from 0700-1100 within walking distance and Bad Ass for coffee. Honokowai park very close by. We enjoyed very quiet evenings on the lanai. We will be back.

I personally like condos closer to the water but the area was well maintained and the barbecues were
well maintained. It was very quiet at night and really had no complaints.
They had shuffleboard lots of areas to sunbathe nice swimming pool. Didn't see a Jacuzzi which I would have used.

This unit was absolutely amazing and perfect for my boyfriend and I! We were here for 11 nights and it was very comfortable and we very much felt like we were at home. Everything we needed we found in this unit even the appropriate beach accessories for our day trips to nearby beaches! This condo is awesome! Truly a home away from home. Not only is it fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, but it has the added bonus of spectacular views, great pool and barbecue area and very convenient location. Loved walking to the nearby farmers' market and small complex of shops. The local Fish Market was a great place to buy fresh fish to barbecue. Also close to Napili Bay which is a fantastic swimming beach. Another added bonus were the sea turtles that come in to feed on the rocks below the complex every evening. We will definitely be back!
