My husband and I and another couple stayed for six wonderful nights. The view from the lanai is incredible and mesmerizing. The condo was well stocked with things needed for cooking, beach days and helpful paper products. Great location, far enough from town to be away from the hustle and bustle but only a five minute drive to be part of it. Parking under the building was great. Highlight was watching the whales from the lanai!

This may be the nicest vrbo I've ever stayed at. The inside of the condo had EVERYTHING. The beds were SO comfy, nice big tv and comfy couches, the bathrooms are beautiful (etched glass with designs on each) the best smelling soaps and shampoos provided in real containers, kitchen full of pots and pans and plates and utensils.. even had a full spice rack! The host left little welcome gifts like a can of macadamia nuts as well as chocolate covered nuts and potato chips, (which were all high quality and delicious) even had towels waiting for you on the chaises outside; but the view. The view was so spectacular, especially during sunset. This condo would be worth it even if the inside wasn't as nice because of the view. You are STEPS from the ocean and my fiancee and I loved checking out all the tide pools and seeing all the wildlife from crabs to aneneomes to stuff we couldn't even identify.
If we ever make it out to Kona again, I would make sure to stay here, it is just perfect.

What a fantastic stay on the Kona Coast. The pictures, although great, don’t even come close to the experience of sitting on the edge of the ocean with the relaxing soundtrack of waves playing 24/7. The location is stunning. The unit is really nicely appointed with everything that you could think of provided for the guests’ use. Holly is very responsive and great to deal with. We are already planning to come back next year. Maybe stay forever!

We like to BBQ and eat in a fair bit and found the propane BBQs difficult to light and often only had a few burners working. We raised this with onsite staff but the issues were not addressed. That did not temper our enjoyment and we would definitely stay again.

The condo provided a great spot for us during the stay. We enjoyed the morning with coffee on the lanai watching the surfers and then winding down in the evenings watching the sunset. Beds were comfy and kitchen had everything we needed.

Couldn't have imagined a better spot. Close but away from downtown Kona activities, quiet oceanfront view, beautiful sunsets every night. The condo had everything needed for a group of 4. Well stocked kitchen utensils. Definitely recommend this condo. Plis pool and hot tub.

Fantastic location and beautiful view! We loved our stay in this condo -- well-stocked for trips to the beach with chairs, umbrella, beach bag, and towels. The lanai is amazing -- perfect place to stare at the ocean and watch a gorgeous sunset every evening. We loved watching the turtles in the tide pool below the unit -- sometimes we could even see them from the lanai.

This condo was clean and had everything we needed. And the view was just perfect. Normally I would give this 5 stars but unfortunately we were put in the wrong condo and told this on day 2 of our vacation, which meant packing up all our stuff (including our groceries) and moving to the correct condo. Such an inconvenience and waste of our very little vacation time. I would expect that when a mistake like this was made, there would be something done to try and make it "right", but nothing was done to compensate for their mistake.
Again, the condo itself is lovely and if it wasn't for the error on their part which took away from our "vacation time", I would give this 5 stars.

The ocean views and balcony access are hard to beat. King beds, kitchen and common amenities for family of 4 were comfortable. Holly accommodated our request for umbrellas, which were handy during some spring showers. The only suggestion would be more deep cleaning of showers and kitchen. The microwave and some dishes were dirty. I'm sure they will correct this, so would come back!

It’s hard to know what you’re actually getting when you book thru VRBO - pictures don’t always tell the story. But, Kona Bali Kai is WAY better than advertised. The views, the rooms and the location are all superb. Would def go again!

We loved staying at this property! It felt incredible as soon as we walked in. Clean and just a great energy. We loved being right on the water. I could live on that lanai! Our boys loved the pool and had a blast exploring the tide pools and seeing the sea turtles. We will definitely be back to stay here! Thanks so much!

This is such a wonderful property. Great location, convenient parking, easy check-in, super clean, well equipped kitchen, but best of all is the view! We did a lot during our visit but quite honestly, I would have been happy lounging on the super comfortable chaise all day gazing out at the beautiful ocean.

A wonderful condo right on the ocean with gorgeous unobstructed views. The living room and master bedroom are right on the lanai/ocean with all sliding glass doors for walls. We slept with the glass doors open and dozed to the sound of the waves. There's a tide pool directly in front of the condo and a sea turtle hung out there most days. The location is ideal. We'd drive south every morning for a snorkel at our favorite spot - Two Step, come "home" for lunch (usually poke from Da Poke Shack, in the condo complex right at the bottom of the steps), and then drive to a white sand beach north to sun and swim for the afternoon. The condo is well equipped for the beach - great quality beach umbrella and chairs and cooler.
Costco and all the restaurants in Kona were on way headed north, and since this was a short trip we usually just picked up some take-out in Kona on the way home in the evening (longer trips we like to pick up fresh caught Hawaiian fish at Costco and some veggies to grill for dinner). We highly recommend this condo and would stay again if it's available the next time we fly down from Alaska! Mahalo!

The place is right on the water, and has really good sound proofing, so you can still sleep well. The AC unit was powerful enough to cool the whole apartment. They had lots of little things in the unit to make our stay very convenient. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!

This place really has the "wow" factor when you walk in the front door! The beautiful ocean with crashing waves, gorgeous sunsets and sunrises are literally right in front of you. The local surfers arrived every morning starting at 6am to entertain while we enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio. The patio lounges are very comfortable and easy to fall asleep on (which happened several days!), Beds are very comfortable...my daughter claims the back bedroom could use an update on sheets, otherwise excellent. The kitchen is well stocked, including coffee to get you started the first day in case you don't make it to the store. Loved having beach chairs, coolers, beach towels etc for our sunbathing adventures. I really appreciated how squeaky clean this place was too. This unit is situated in a quiet location just outside of the main part of town. Easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go via car or long walk. Loved our visit and will be back!

This condo is just perfect in terms of necessities, location and comfort! It had everything we needed to make some delicious meals and enjoy the beaches! The sound of the waves and the view was spectacular! The second bedroom does get a little stuffy but if you keep the door open it’s fine. I would only recommend to have a blanket in the condo to cozy up at night as you do need to turn the AC on. Holly was very approachable and answered all my questions promptly!

As VERY DISCERNING travelers, we were quite happy in this clean unit! That is always number one for us. We were on an excursion from our home island of Kauai, and to not see one insect on the second floor is pretty much a miracle. The bed was very comfy for 50-year-old bodies with many comfortable seating options inside and out. You can leave the doors open all night combined with the ceiling fan made the temperature comfortable throughout the night. The a/c was needed for just about 30 minutes after arriving to the unit in late afternoon just for a quick-cool down, then the fans did the job. The beach chairs and umbrella worked perfectly for one day at the beach, with good quality beach towels as well. We have stayed at these units multiple times that are managed by Holly and she is great to work with! : )

Pros-Owners were very nice and quickly to respond to our needs. This condo has a beautiful view of the ocean where you can watch surfers, passing boats, sea turtles. etc. There are two sets of BBQ's with picnic tables very clean and easy to get to down stairs. The view from the Lanai is AWESOME and loved hearing the sound of surf at night. The chairs on the Lanai are nice and comfy for that morning coffee, it also had 4 chairs and dining table. The overhead fan helped cool down the temperatures. The unit was very clean with nice furnishings and extra ammenities. We got a surprise in the guest closet of ready to use lawn chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards and coolers. The cupboards were fully stocked with all the different spices one would need. There is bedding in the closet for infants.
Cons-The AC does not cool down nor reach the guest bedroom, night sleeping is warm and stuffy. The owner supplies fans to blow in the room but my guests said it was not enough. Unfortunately we had very noisy upstairs neighbors with kids. Stomping, running and crying started early at 645 am making it hard to sleep in. There is no manager to complain to since these units are mostly seperately owned.
I would probably stay here again in cooler temperatures because I loved the views and the properties. Thank you for a great experience.

We enjoyed our stay at Holly's apartment 217 very much. The view of the ocean and the sunsets was spectacular. We ate our meals on the balcony. We also enjoyed the lounge chairs on the balcony during the day and after sunset. The location was great. Just about 10 minutes by car into the main area of Kona. It was clean and well stocked (we cooked our own meals). As mentioned in other reviews, the bedroom by the front entrance tends to get warm (we were here in early June), but we arranged the provided fans in a way that it allowed the air from the A/C to flow into that bedroom and it cooled down well enough for our teens to sleep. We traveled with a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers (the size of adults) and we had plenty of space. The two bathrooms are nice for us to spread out and the washer and dryer were very helpful since we had spent the previous week on another island and had to do laundry. We did not use the community pool, as it was a little crowded and is a little smaller than the pictures make it seem. However, we did spend time in the tidepools on the oceanside of the apartment and that was a great time. Parking is very good and we had plenty of room with the minivan we rented. Communication with Holly was great and she was always quick to respond and answer any questions we had. We would definitely come back.
