Beautiful view and great air flow. Not a fan of AC, so it's nice to not need it. We have a timeshare here, but our units are towards the back and ground units which have not as much airflow.

Overall, the property was a good value for the price. Our check-in time was moved from 3pm to 4pm the day before we arrived, and our flight landed much earlier that day around 9am, so a bit of waiting until we could get into the room.
A few cabinets that were difficult to open/close due to the microwave and oven, but otherwise functional kitchen. Some cockroach sightings over the course of our stay, so it is important to store any food items in the fridge.
Beautiful grounds and great location! Walking distance to delicious food trucks and restaurants, and the grocery store across the street which is very convenient.

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Papakea Resort. It was quiet and peaceful room with a great view from the balcony. Not happy with having to pay $15 for parking in the resort lot however.

Beautiful as always. The property is excellently maintained and our unit K-202 was wonderful. We love staying at Papakea so much we’ve been there 4 times now. The location is so close central to all fun and shopping. Definitely coming back. Rob, Liz, David and Lily.

The property is I. A wonderful resort. No beach in front but a lovely green space on the water and within the property.
The actual condo has a good layout. Both both rooms need an refresh (deep clean on showers and tubs and NEW shower curtains - moldy).
The kitchen was jam packed with small appliances but there was no room to put dry goods. No wine glasses, one of the cupboards did not close, cockroaches in Lower kitchen cupboards.
Generally a good place to rent.

Hadn't been to Maui in years. Hadn't stayed at the Papakea in 20 years. Papakea has undergone many renovations since last time we visited. All for the better. This is a great location and the resort is especially good for families. Easy access to everything.
All the units are different so check the pics carefully. The unit we stayed in was well appointed and had the BEST views we've ever had. Good time!

Great pool area w a nice big jacuzzi that’s kept warmer than most and about six gas webbers that the maintenance people clean every morning. Lanai next to pool is great for a sunset bbq out of the wind. We’ll equipped kitchen and outdoor deck overlooks pool and beach. I’d definitely stay again. Mahalo

Excellent accommodations. Sitting on the balcony with a view of the ocean was our favorite part. The pool and games around the property was fun too. We had to drive to a sandy beach otherwise this was a great rental.

WELL APPOINTED! We looked through reviews to see if there were beach towels and brought our own anyway. NO NEED, everything is here! The location was great and yes, the pool got loud a couple of nights but it never went late and we joined a party one night. The location was so good for our needs and having grass all the way to the waves was perfect. No sand to deal with! If there is anything to be improved, the paper products are pretty cheap. If that is worse thing I can say, that says it all! We used the food trucks, grocery store and unfortunately even the pharmacy. All right next to us! I was worried we wouldn't get the exact same room as in the picture but that is truly the room. Great location in the resort!

This property was wonderful. Felt like you were staying at a friend’s place, who made sure you had everything you needed. Favorite part was the view from the master bedroom bed! All you saw was blue ocean and palm trees. Loved the location of the unit within the property and mostly the view. Only drawback was the pool was pretty loud in the evenings but then again it was spring break so a lot more little kids then usual. And by 9-10 pm the noise was no longer an issue. Will definitely stay in this condo again!

Arriving at our VRBO condo at Papakea was like stepping into the picture of the balcony. The view of the ocean and pool was exactly as pictured. Even though we were there at the height of Spring Break, it never felt crowded. Our kids (9, 10, 13 and 15) swam in the pool every day, played shuffleboard, used the putting green, sat on the loungers to enjoy the ocean view and took walks along the beach. The supermarket is 2 minutes away and great beaches both walkable and a quick drive away. We enjoyed the boogie boards, floats, cooler and beach chairs available for our use. Kitchen was well-equipped -- even has a blender for making our own Pina coladas. Couldn't ask for a thing more. Super relaxing and memorable. Maholo for the great stay!

We stayed over Spring Break with our 2 teen girls. The location was perfect with a view that was simply perfect out over the pool and ocean. This condo is stocked with everything that you could need. We had some initial confusion on how to operate the AC and they had the local on-site support there within an hour. He was great and even dropped off some boogie boards for us the next day when he saw we didn’t have any. The convenient location of the complex to shopping and restaurants can’t be beat, and the daily activities were such a nice touch as well.
Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to any families looking for a great time in paradise!

The description of this property was spot on. Very clean, great view and the A/C was great throughout the condo. We’ve stayed at several units at Papakea in the past and this one was one of the best. We usually stay in top floor units but K-202 had plenty of room and still felt private. The beds were comfortable and our girls said the pull out couch was actually pretty comfortable. Showers and bath rooms were well maintained and functioned nicely. All appliances worked great. The sliding door to the lanai even looked new and was effortless to open and close. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved the location of this condo. Enjoyed the ocean views from the patio when the sun was too hot and needed shade. We had morning coffee by the beach every day and had sea turtles swim up very close to us multiple mornings. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall we loved the property and would definitely return to it. Papakea has a great location and the property is perfectly maintained. The pool was comfortably warm and perfectly clean. For the Condo: The view from the lanai is gorgeous and only one night was there a noisy group at the pool until after the 10PM cutoff time. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well. This is our second stay at Papakea and its become our favorite resort.
A couple of improvements could be made:
The chairs and furniture on the lanai were uncomfortable and were not the ones pictured. We are rarely indoors while on Maui, so the chairs became a real downside on the lanai.
Yes the kitchen is a little dated. The replacement coffee pot that Maui Life obtained came to us the same day that we reported the original one was broken - that was great, but unfortunately it was a 5-cup coffee maker which made it an endless routine of making more coffee for my coffee- dependent family.

We had a nice two weeks at Papakea. The ocean views were great, the place was comfortable, and it even had boogy boards/snorkel gear/umbrella/beach chairs - everything we needed for the beach. The pools and grounds at Papakea are wonderful. We'd love to come back sometime and stay here again!
