We loved the location of this property. You could walk to lots of restaurants, the farmer's market, and the beach next door. We saw dolphins swim by while we had our coffee on the balcony. The sunsets were amazing. The unit is on the top floor and the layout makes it feel larger. It is equipped with everything you need. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had a wonderful time on our honeymoon staying here! The view was amazing, and the one magnet on the fridge was for Black Rock Pizza, we tried it and it ended up being the best pizza on the island. Only negative was we were expecting to see dolphins but didn’t see any, definitely plan on staying here again though!

A wonderful choice for our first trip to Kona. This cozy, well equipped condo (located just adjacent to the Royal Kona Resort) is an easy walk to the restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.
The ocean views from the lanai are amazing, and the sunsets are spectacular.

You can’t get any closer to ocean front than this condo. We loved the deck the most. Sunset, surfers, sea life- there was always something to see. The condo is cozy and comfortable.

The unit is top floor with a commanding view. It has been thoroughly upgraded with tile floors throughout and quartz countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. It has a French door between the living and bedrooms which creates a sense of spaciousness. Appliances/utensils are new state of the art as are the consumer electronics. The pictures in the listing quite accurately reflect what a guest will experience in person. The rental agents are on site and are cordial and helpful.

Our stay was great. Air conditioning was not working and I would have appreciated a heads up about that. The window unit helps in afternoon when condo was warmest. Hale Kona Kai #404 is a lovely Kona getaway. Perfect view of the bay along with unbelievable sunsets. The unit is well equipped with good linens, towels and kitchen utensils. We enjoyed the great beach chairs and umbrella , a godsend when going to our very favorite beaches. Excellent barbecue which we used frequently. The pool is well maintained and makes a great spot to chat with the neighbors.
Can't wait for our next visit. Thanks Tracy and Taina for being so accommodating.

Everything was as advertised. Unfortunately we knew going in the property (all units on one a/c) had a failed a/c unit thus we new what to expect. Hot and humid. The unit was great, the bed was comfortable, the view was spectacular and the proximity to town was great. We would definitely stay here again!

The view at Hale Kona Kai 404 is fantastic! You can not get closer to the water without getting wet. The management needs to get the builds air conditioning system working. The small air conditioner in the bedroom just kept it comfortable if everything was kept closed all the time. The last time we stayed the system kept everything very comfortable all the time. When the outside hallway carpet gets replaced it will be a great upgrade. Hale Kona Kai is a wonderful place to stay in Kona with an easy walk to downtown. Loved our time there!

Condo had everything we needed ❤️ and the location is just perfect. Smaller building with fewer units so it's guest traffic was next to none!
The sliding door to the Lanai did lock us outside on our lanai with no phones and we were stuck out there for over an hour at nighttime so my review would have been hirer had the response time been faster. We flagged someone down and office was notified immediately but it took over an hour for someone to get to us 🙃
Overall we would definitely recommend this unit! Super cute decor, thoughtful and considerate belongings in the unit and super sweet welcome care package all put this unit over the top!

Short stay of 4 days as we moved around this island, and other islands.
Location is great ! Walking distance to several restaurants and shops makes it easy to “relax and stumble home” (LOL). Great “base” from which to explore most of the island. Also much dryer than the east coast (lots of Rain in Hilo)
Property itself was good. Oceanside, but not an area for swimming (rough waters and jagged rocks)…luckily there is a nice pool on the property. Just a little dated (could use new outdoor carpeting down the walkways.
Condo itself was well laid out. Really like the French doors leading to the bedroom; made it feel roomy! Bedding was thread bare… easy fix!

We didn't need anything! Beach towels, chairs, umbrella, coolers etc. Household items were just what we needed too! Great assortment.

This is a very convenient place with a great ocean view. The kitchen is well-stocked. The building is a little dated, but that’s just Hawaii. The central AC was out, which was unfortunately uncomfortable. The portable AC in the bedroom didn’t really make much of a difference. However, Tracy was very accommodating, which we appreciated. Really can’t beat the location and the view.

We loved the ocean view…we spent a lot of time on the lanai checking out the waves and and wildlife. Sea salt is hard on a property and this one is showing signs of needing maintenance. The walk to town was easy. All in all a great trip!

Unit had all necessary amenities. Bed sheets were thread bare, with holes along top edge. Floors left our feet/socks dirty. Otherwise, nice set up with French doors opening between living area and bedroom makes it feel spacious.

We've stayed at this complex before, all the units are basically the same, one bedroom, one bath, kitchen, living room and balcony. The differences are the layout, furnishings and amenities. This unit is on the top floor in the middle of the building. So the view is breathtaking, the ocean is right out you balcony, the waves crashing into the rocks is soothing and enjoyable. You can see turtles and colorful fish in the waters below. Whales and dolphins can be seen breaching and spouting. There's always something going on in the water, swimmers, surfers, snorkeling, kayakers, SUPs, fishing boats, paragliding.
The one thing that sets this unit apart from the others is the wide doorway between the bedroom and livingroom, it makes the unit seem more open and larger. Perfect for a couple. The only negative we had was the bed, it was very hard and uncomfortable. We solved this by purchasing a memory foam topper at Walmart. We left it there, so hopefully other renters will not have the same issue. The unit did have a fully stocked kitchen, every appliance needed was available, storage containers, blender, coffee grinder, coolers, ice packs. It also had beach gear, boogie board, snorkeling, beach chairs, umbrellas, mats, towels. It was the perfect place to stay and enjoy all the local sights, shopping and restaurants.

Location is excellent. View from lanai is amazing - look down to see the yellow tang fish and sea turtles! Really well-stocked condo with good quality beach chairs, umbrellas, beach bag, cooler, beach towels, binoculars. Even had a wide assortment of hair tools (dryer, straightener, etc), lots of toiletries, and then spices etc in the kitchen. The management company was exceptional to deal with (Tracy and Tine) and a couple minor things were dealt with immediately. Will stay again!

Good location close to town. Older building in need of some maintenance. The AC is central and not working. We were offered a window unit but declined as it wasn't that bad in January but be aware that you may need to make sure it's working in warmer weather.
The pool is actually great but woefully short of shade. It sits directly in the sun and there is virtually no shade. There are two shade umbrellas but both are in disrepair and unmovable. The pool could use at least 4-6 working shade umbrellas.
Our unit 404 was great. Nicely equipped and had an outstanding view. The lanai faces the ocean and has adequate room for two. The kitchen was well equipped and we had ample sheets, towels and beach equipment.
We found everyone that lived there to be very friendly and welcoming. Over all a great spot we will most likely return.

The view was just as good as shown in the pictures! Great location near Kona, and the agent provided a nice goody bag on arrival. The kitchen is nicely setup, and even included a coffee grinder for those delicious coffee beans! Seating on the lanai was nice. The bathroom could definitely use more lighting, and the shower head needs replacing. We were never able to get the A/C to actually cool, despite following all the instructions. We gave up on it and just opened every window and door in the place to get it comfortable.
If you plan on using all the advertised amenities (like the sofa bed), you need to make sure you tell the agent. The 2 of us (siblings)staying in the unit assumed that everything would just be ready, and the agent assumed we would only use the king bed, and so the sofa bed was not prepared. When we contacted the agent about the sofa bed that we could not open, the agent seemed suspicious that we needed the sofa bed. Also, there was a contact sheet left in the unit to call or message with problems, but we were unable to reach the agent using the numbers provided, and were unable to use the sofa bed the first night.
We got a response by using VBRO instead of the given contact number.
The sofa bed was fixed the next day, but the bedding in the unit did not fit the sofa bed, and we still were not sure how to open/close the sofa bed, and had to leave it as a bed and lost use of it as a sofa for the reminder of our stay.

Property was extremely well located and easy to get to. Balcony offered incredible view of ocean with many fish visible just from our room. Walking distance to dinning and the beach was a huge plus also. Only downside was the ac being out of service, but we were contacted earlier about the situation and we're offered options which we greatly appreciated. Once we figured the airflow the situation the room was cool and comfortable. All in all I would definitely recommend anyone going to Kona stay here.

This place was perfect! Location is incredible, walking distance to the main strip - restaurants, shops, etc. But the best part is that it feels so remote. When you are sitting out on the lanai, all you can hear is the soothing sounds of the ocean. The unit is clean and in excellent shape, with all the amenities you need to make it feel like home! Not to mention, you can save a few bucks by cooking some of your own meals. I will definitely be back!

This was a great place to stay for our week vacation. Can't beat the location. Can walk to the main part of town for restaurants and shopping. The Lanai sits right on the ocean front, can't get any closer than that! We did not need the air conditioner as we like the ocean breeze to cool us off. Condo had everything we needed to be comfortable all week. Quiet the whole time we were there. Adeline was very helpful in helping us find this condo to stay in. We used to live on the Big Island and this was just what we were looking for. Great price and great location! Highly recommend

I specifically chose this condo to be away from resort noise, as well as any pool noise (didn't seem to be an issue issue anyway). The view was amazing, I could have sat and watched turtles and the water for another week! Bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and was clean. Pool was kept clean, though a jacuzzi was missed just a little. Would have enjoyed beach access but lava does what lava does! We had a lovely stay.
