This condo was in an awesome location, it is a little bit dated, and the cleanliness inside the room could maybe have been a little better? But overall it was a great stay . One thing we didn’t like was the washer and dryer Were both operated by coins, and there was no cash to coin dispenser on the premises at all. So we had to constantly go into town to get change converted. So if you stay here make so you bring plenty of quarters.

The location and condo was everything we expected. The kitchen was well stocked, the view was great. There is a newly added AC system which cools the bedroom quick and efficiently. It was great having an assigned parking space, so we always knew we could park event when Kona was busy.

Really nice small condo on Ali’i Drive just south of town. Beautiful view from the balcony and a lovely pool area. The building itself is looking a little dated but was very clean and the residents were very nice.

Great location. Nice building. View to Lagoon and ocean from balcony (not straight on). Great hotel, Royal Kona, next door with great dining and views. Condo needs some new linens and glassware.

Have stayed at Royal Kona numerous times in the past and wanted a bit more room this time; condo was perfect. Love the view and lanai. Elevator needs work - was jittery at times and one of us got trapped for several minutes when it seemed to go dead at one point. 3 rating on mgmt communication cuz we asked several times (incl. before start of trip) about a late check out and never got an answer. Would definitely stay there again.

Staff was upfront about the fact that the air-conditioning for Hale Kona Kai was out and awaiting parts. The owner however has a portable air-conditioner that worked great. The unit was clean and had everything that we needed for the stay. The view was great from the balcony and it was nice to sit and have the cup of coffee in the am and the glass of wine in the pm. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again myself.

This was our first visit to the Big Island and we were delighted with the location of this condo. We loved being able to easily walk to Kailua with it’s fun restaurants, shops and wonderful farmer’s market. The condo was equipped with everything we needed, easy and friendly check in and lovely balcony where we could take in the gorgeous Hawaiian sunset. Would stay here again!

Cute little place, great access to everything. Only issue was that they advertised Central Air and it was broken. they did have a portable unit in the bedroom that worked tremendously well, for the bedroom. everything else was very warm. In conversation with the property manager they said it has been out for a month, we should have been notified as our unit gets no ocean breeze. The unit had everything you need for Hawaii and the owners that we met were very nice and welcoming. We had a fuse blow and one of the owners that resides there was able to get it fixed, not the property managers who we tried to contact.

We liked the people that were owners of the property, they were extremely friendly, helpful and a real pleasure. when we arrived we had no Central AC, when we called they said it had been out for a month and that we were notified. we weren't notified and it was a huge disappointment as we face the north so we don't get any breeze. the facility was great, no Central AC, they did have a portable unit in the bedroom that worked well but the remainder of the property was warm the entire time of our visit.

Really nicely updated condo with a clean pool and great views of both ocean and lagoon. Quiet too! We’ll equipped kitchen with all the essentials. And a very comfy bed!

Manager was responsive to most of my concerns.
Be aware of: 1) coqui frogs that prevented me from enjoying the lanai in the eve and needed to keep doors closed all night due to the cacophony ) Lights from big resort facing lanai shine in bedroom all night, 3) Alii Traffic easily audible from bedroom (even with ear plugs) 4) almost no area rugs to keep sand at door but lots of towels so I used a few to trap dirt near the door, 5) no room for luggage if anyone were to stay in the small living room, 6) lots of linens and some beach gear 7) AC smells musty and blew debris into the kitchen on a few occasions but AC does cool the bedroom and isn’t too loud 8) king bed was very comfortable with nice pillows and linens .9) view is decent but lanai is small 10) pool area is not centralized and very sparse, not a place for socializing ,11) very easy walk into town.
I personally would not rent this unit again but others may not be as sensitive to some of the things that bothered me.

Home away from from in a low key, relaxing,pleasant and safe environment surrounded by beautiful ocean view and within walking distance to all the town life has to offer. Hawaii is a beautiful place!

This condo has a beautiful view of an inlet where the waves and tides come crashing in, lapping in, lulling, thrilling. We saw spinner dolphins from the lanai! The pool is very fine and is a great place from which to watch the sunset. Close to good snokeling beach too! This condo is in the heart of lots of restaurants and other tourist attractions. A great value!

409 is top floor which was quiet, away from the full front ocean view but has a partial ocean / small cove view that is stunning nonetheless and wonderful surf sound. Effort's gone into Hawaiian decor. A few updated things (deck chairs, bed) and some retro things awaiting upgrade (fridge, kettle, stemware, main table) all serviceable but ready to be refreshed. Manager onsite and quick to respond to questions. Super handy to several excellent restaurants (walking) and the main strip in Kona Kailua. Good parking.

Hale Kona Kai was a wonderful property. Our unit faced the lagoon and ocean and you can see and hear the waves crack. The unit was very private and had all of the all of the amenities needed to make our stay a great. The condo is walking distance to Downtown Kona and the best part only a five minute walk to 'on the rocks'! We used the pool several times and there is plenty of lounge chairs to take the sun in. We will definitely come back to Hale Kona Kai.

The location of this property is perfect and we had a great stay. The lanai views are spectacular and we enjoyed morning coffee as the sun rose each morning. We were accommodated with an early arrival and were able to easily "check-in" upon arrival with the door code emailed to us. Thanks for a great stay!

I enjoyed my time at this top-floor condo. Location is great, balcony is great with ample views of Pacific and beautiful Sunsets. Breezes and sound of birds and waves crashing offer great privacy in this simple condo. Love it.
