This was our third time staying at Hale Kona kai and my first time in 403, this unit is an A+.
The unit was very clean, well equipped with everything you need and nicely decorated.
The location can't be beat, you are a quick walk to restaurants, bars and many stores.
We really enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning on the lanai and then a cocktail at sunset.
We truly enjoyed our stay.

The unit was very clean, well equipped with everything you need and nicely decorated.
The location can't be beat, you are a quick walk to restaurants, bars and many stores.
We really enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning on the lanai and then a cocktail at sunset.

Aloha! From the moment we booked our Honeymoon, to the very sad day we departed, the entire process was so smooth. Steven and Jenni Lee are amazing hosts! Impressive communication and wonderful information about the area and any questions or issues we had, they were on it immediately. The condo, it was perfect for us! It is beautifully decorated, and has everything you could possibly need! The lanai, the view, the waves breaking right below you, absolutely breathtaking and stunning. We were very surprised and appreciative of the special and personalized touches by our hosts for our honeymoon. We had the pleasure of seeing dolphins, turtles and all kinds of fish from the lanai. Hands down, perfect honeymoon, in a perfect place, we will be returning! Mahalo!

Beautifully decorated. Watched surfers, canoers, fisherman all from the lanai. Wonderful oceanfront location just steps from the town of Kona. Enjoyed all the amenities...bogie boards, beach mats and towels, ice chest, beach chairs. Cooled off frequestly at the oceanside salt water pool. Well stocked kitchen. Everything you need tfor cooking. Truly lovely.

The condo was amazing! From the location, amenities and cleanliness, I honestly can't imagine a better place to have stayed for our first time on the Big Island! No details were spared by the hosts. It is obvious the owners take pride in this unit and wish for guests to be comfortable. The view is as breathtaking as the titled listing states. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony every morning and watching the sunset at night.
For those who are curious (because I didn't see it in previous reviews), the mattress/bed is on the softer side as they have a memory foam topper.

My husband and I were looking for a room with a view and some place a little less crowded. We were in town for a birthday celebration with lots of family members, so needed a place to escape to and relax… We were not disappointed. The only sound we heard was the surf below our balcony. The condo was very clean, bright and well equipped with all the essentials, including everything you would need for the beach. We only used the pool twice however each time, we were the only ones there. We had a designated parking space, which was great. Many shops and restaurants are within walking distance, therefore we never had to worry about parking. This condo is perfect for a couple. We will definitely be back!

It is very evident Steven and Jenni go above and beyond to ensure their guests have the best possible stay - from extra essentials one may need to a very generous and welcoming gift basket. We enjoyed coffee and brought most dinners in just to eat on the lanai to enjoy the view each day. Mahalo for opening this piece of paradise for our use - we made so many wonderful memories!

We really enjoyed this place. The views were amazing. Very clean and just as described. We loved the extra Hawaiian snacks they left for us too. The host was great at communicating with us when we were there. The elevator was out for a few hours, and they made sure to let us know right away.

This property it was in the details. From the moment you walk through the front door and see the decor and the view, it’s amazing. This property came with everything you could think of from the beach chairs, to the umbrella, to the cooler and right down to the candles that you could turn on for the evening. The condo provided an exceptional vacation. The environment created by the owners was in competition to the outstanding view of the ocean, waves crashing, breezes where no ac is needed, and the the enhanced peaceful surroundings. Our hosts were gracious, leaving us a nice surprise, as we were celebrating our 20th anniversary! Did not need to 'bother' them otherwise, as everything went so well with apartment.

Everything you read about it in the reviews is accurate. You look out the windows and all you can see is ocean. Spent our mornings and evenings on the deck enjoying the view and loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Kitchen fully stocked and a lovely welcome basket was waiting for us on arrival. Walking distance to many restaurants and a good base to explore the West side of the Island. Only cons are that the shower and toilet room is very tight therefore hard to get in and out of, and there is a shortage of places to plug in and charge devices.

The location was perfect to walk into town. The place was newly renovated and very beachy, which we really enjoyed. The view from the Lanai was just perfect for having coffee in the morning or a cocktail at sunset. Our stay included the Fourth of July and we loved watching fireworks over Kailua Bay. The condo was a great home base to explore the island. The AC in the master bedroom was a nice option. The hosts were very responsive and kind enough to allow a late check out for our evening flight. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Honu Hideway. Check-in was super easy and the fruit and food basket the host provided was so welcome after our long travels. The unit was squeaky clean, tastefully decorated and had all the amenities needed to cook and relax. The balcony overlooking the ocean was perfect for breakfast in the mornings, lounging around in the afternoon, and watching the sunset in the evening. While we didn’t spend much time in town, the condo is located a short walk to all the shops and restaurants in Kailua Village. The beach gear provided was a nice touch and made taking off to the beach to snorkel easy and convenient. We’ll be back the next time we visit Kailua-Kona!!

We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived at the condo at 10pm and the fruit and food basket was so welcome! Location was perfect. Easy walk to town and restaurants. We also enjoyed walking two blocks south to a small beach. Being off the main road it was very quiet except for the roar of the ocean! Excellent sleeping! Details in the unit were well thought out. Appreciated the beach gear and ice chest and even the shopping bags. From the lanai we saw beautiful sunsets, lots of fish, a turtle and dolphins playing. We liked that it was a smaller complex with less noise and commotion. Would love to come back!

My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing week in this beautifully decorated and comfortable unit. We’re were a five minute walk to numerous stores and restaurants yet on a quiet side street away from the traffic. A small beach is a very short walk away as well. The pool area is small but relaxing and clean. The owners Steve and Bea were very responsive and ensured we had everything we needed. We would definitely rent here again!!

We love the view of the crashing waves from the lanai and the easy walk to Kailua village. The unit that we stayed in has been significantly upgraded, is nicely decorated, and the owners are helpful and responsive.

It can be extremely difficult to find a clean/modern place stay in the downtown Kona area. Most of the newer hotels on the Big Island are an hour away. And a lot of the other condo rentals are stuck in the 80’s. This place was clean/comfortable with a lot of modern updates (granite counters/stainless appliances).
There was a lot of attention to detail in the decor, even to the point of color coordinated nightlights. It’s clear a lot of investment and time went into renovating this condo. The ocean view and gift basket were just the Cherry on top.

The ocean view from this nicely remodeled unit is great. We enjoyed a morning walk to the pier each day. Saw lots of yellow fish and dolphins, a few whales, but no turtles during our late Jan. stay.

The condo was beautifully decorated and positioned perfect for viewing Hawaiian sunsets from the lanai and bedroom. The unit was fully stocked with kitchenware, toiletries, and beach accessories which made for a convenient stay. Would definitely book again.

We enjoyed our stay there, well equipped and beautiful condo unit. However, we were there 7 days and on no day was there anyone in the office. The office was open but the office window was closed at all times. We sometimes had questions but no one there to answer them. we have stayed there perhaps 4-5 times and there was always someone in the office everyday.

Great location, overlooking the water, walk to everything! It’s evident the owners of this space take great pride in making it comfortable for their guests. When we first pulled up, I was a bit skeptical as the building appears pretty old (to be honest, most things in Kona appear that way). But when you open the door, you’re in an oasis. It’s sweetly decorated and very clean.
There was a lovely welcome gift basket too.
The A/C in the building went down and the owners did everything they could to accommodate our comfort. They brought in a stand alone unit for the bedroom. It wasn’t the perfect fix as the unit was super noisy - but all in all, they made the best of a less than perfect situation.

Very nice stay! We really enjoyed the balcony right on the ocean and the close location to town. Easily walkable to many restaurants/shops/beaches. The air conditioner was out for the building but they put a portable unit in the bedroom which worked out well.
