I love staying at the condos at Kona Ali’i. It’s in a central location to many things and right down in the heart of the action. Condo building is secure. Pool is refreshing. View is great, being right on the ocean. We will definitely be coming back.

This condo is perfectly situated in the center of all the shops and happenings. However, it is extremely secure and quiet. Covered car port
The full kitchen had all the whistle and bells so you could make your own meals. Lots of little spices etc. you don't have to run out and purchase. Standard coffee maker.
Having two bathrooms was nice. My husband had his and I had mine. heaven.
The unit does not have central air conditioning, but if you use the ceiling fans/portable chiller and open the lanai you get a nice breeze. We are sensitive to heat, so we would probably stick to the cooler months when renting this unit.
The pool area is relaxing and quiet. Very clean.

Simple but thorough and thoughtful. Location is wonderful in the heart of activity. Accessible to shops and restaurants, but can occasionally be noisy. Easy to hop onto the highways to venture out to the other parts of the island. Beautiful Hawai'i.

The location is so convenient, and the check in process was very smooth. The balcony is very nice with a peek-a-boo view of the ocean.
Things that could be improved: All the towels smelled terrible -- like that moldy, mildewy smell that happens when things don't dry properly. We washed the towels ourselves twice in a hot water cycle to get the smell out. Many of the cups, flatware, and knives were also visibly dirty.
The locks to the building doors are finicky. It's a real pain to stand there every time trying to unlock the door. You have to jiggle the key exactly the right way. This seems to go for all the building doors -- the ones to the front of the building, the one leading to the parking area, and the one from the parking stairwell to the unit floor. The unit's front door is fine.
The bed is very, very soft, FYI.

Probably the best location in Kona. So convenient to everything and every place to see and do in the Kona area. Having 2 bathrooms is a huge plus and the washer/dryer keeps you fresh and clean. Lanai is spectacular plus beach items are top shelf quality. Melissa is easy to communicate with and seems to care about her guests and property. Kitchen is well furnished and fridge is big. Enjoy!

My family and I live on the rainy side of Big Island, and needed a break to dry out! This property fit the bill. The location is amazing and close to the heart of Kona Town. On-site parking and walking distance to restaurants was what we needed to take a break.
Communication with the property manager was great. Prior to check in I wanted to extend another night. She made it happen for me since the condo was vacant.
Pool was huge compared to other properties I’ve stayed in, never crowded. My kids didn’t want to spend much time at the beach so we were at the pool the majority of our time.
Kitchen had what we needed for what meals and snacks we prepared. Even had a dishwasher for added convenience.
Being in the heart of action means that not only do you have Kona Town at your fingertips, it also means you hear the action. Was not bad in the least and my family fell asleep without issue.
Kona Town can be pretty hot, this condo has great airflow. No need for air conditioning as long as you let the wind blow through the condo.
Thank you for a great stay! My family needs a quarterly stay in Kona, so we will be back.

The only problem is the neighbors. My kids didn't want to swim because tenants in 207 were yelling at them about noise. They were just talking in a normal voice but they kept telling them things like, "Be quiet, don't you even understand English or can you even read?". Because of that, my family will not be returning. No problems with the owner. It's just the neighbors.

The location was perfect! The only thing I would change about the whole trip, is that the property owner would have four beach chairs available instead of just two. The two beach chairs that were there were easily carried to locations within walking distance, the only complaint is that there were three of us and just two chairs. The condo easily sleeps four and it would be nice if there were four chairs. I would absolutely stay at this property again!

My husband and stayed at Melissa's place for 4 weeks. We found it to be a nice home away from home.
The condo is well stocked with extras such as beach towels, coolers, beach chairs etc. The kitchen has updated appliances and everything you would need. For a long stay it would have been nice to have a few more lidded storage containers. (save on plastic wrap)
With the patio doors and bedroom window open the fans kept the condo a comfortable temperature. (if you are a light sleeper this may not work for you as the living room has the neighboring buildings lights shining in and from the bedroom you hear the restaurant and bar noise) There is a portable a/c but it wasn't easy to vent it so we did not use it.
The location is great for walking to the shops and restaurants. Covered parking is provided and easy access to getting out of town. The unit is in a very secure building.
If we return to Hawaii we would try to get this condo again.

Very clean and well equipped and great location, with food and drinks tight next door. Covered parking provided, and easy check in. Plenty of thought has gone into equipping this property, with extra pillows, blankets, beach towels looks and beach gear provided.. this was really appreciated as we were travelling light. A couple of items that could benefit from a little attention are the vertical blinds in the lounge which are missing at least one slat meaning it is difficult to sleep ( and my usual clothes pegs to keep curtains closed doesn’t work) and we also never managed to lock the outside door on the deck (which may have just been us) . No air conditioning was a little problematic as for us the temperature was sweaty, (but others may be fine) , and the pool was icy cold ( unheated and received no sun). Plenty of closet space and a well equipped kitchen to cook in, and 2 bathrooms made the stay pleasant. While the master bed was very comfortable the sofa bed and the rollaway bed might be suitable for children but not adults. They could both benefit from a topper pad. Finally there were instruction not to move furniture. but it was impossible to extend the sofa bed or position the rollaway without moving coffee tables. Overall a pleasant stay in clean surroundings, and good value for money.

Condo was in a great location right next to the beach and several restaurants. Pool was amazing, parking is very convenient. It kind of falls in between the resorts and volcanoes national park making for a shorter drive no matter what we had planned for the day. The big windows are really helpful to help stay comfortable at nights. Condo was a little muggy when we came in, but opening the windows and turning on the fans made the condo comfortable enough to sleep in a few hours. Owner was super responsive and overall it was a great experience.

We enjoyed having a fully equipped apartment in a very central location. Couldn't have been a more convenient stay.... close to shopping, great food, ABC stores and of course across the street from the beach. One thing we truly appreciated was having small details like soap, shampoo, sun block and left-over spices in the kitchen to help us feel more at home. The apartment was impeccably clean and very comfortable. We will be sure to return to stay here again! Highly recommend it!

The property is perfectly located. The unit was clean. The only negative was the misinformation about how to enter or exit after hours. There is a green button to open the gate, and you can use your key to enter. We were given the info by another couple staying there when we were getting ready to check out. Very clean and well equipped. Convenient to restaurants and stores. Just steps away from several restaurants. With sliders open, you can hear the waves hit the shore.
Only one negative, no Central AC. There is a portable AC, but no easy way to vent it. With BR windows open, the 90DB coqui are really irritating at night. Ear plugs will help a lot.
Would we return here? Yes in a heartbeat.

The biggest plus with this condo is the proximity to the restaurants, shops and activities. Everything is within walking distance and the sunsets are spectacular. The appliances were top notch (we used the washer and dryer quite a bit). We felt very secure during our stay. The security was excellent, and we didn't have to worry about intruders or uninvited guests. The biggest negative for us about the condo was our surprise that there is no central air conditioning. We were surprised by this because air conditioning was listed under the amenities when we were looking for accommodations. When we arrived, the condo was warm and stuffy. After opening the sliding doors to the balcony, the unit did not cool down. Even with the ceiling fans running at full speed, there were occasions when it was a challenge staying comfortable. We did find a small air conditioning unit on wheels in the bedroom closet and used it at night so we could sleep. If it doesn't matter whether your accommodations have air conditioning or not, I recommend this unit.

Melissa’s place is very central to everything, it’s right in the heart of Kona. Her place was perfect for a family of 5. Also her communication to any questions we had was very quick, thank you for the stay and we definitely wouldn’t mind staying there again!!!

We had a wonderful time at the Kona Ali’i! The condo was clean as a whistle. The lanai was beautiful and you can see and hear the ocean from it! The entire wall adjacent to the lanai and be opened up- we did this every day and let the fresh air in. There was a portable A/C that we just ran at night in the bedroom- otherwise it was unneeded! Two bathrooms with an amazing shower. Great kitchen- we bought some staples at the local Sack and Save and only ate out one meal a day. The building opens up onto Ali’i Drive and you can literally see the sunset from the building. We did this every night. Ali’i Drive is kind of the hotspot with lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Try out the mahi mahi at The Fish Hopper! We swam in the pool and stretched out on the rooftop sun deck. It was a magical week and I would 10/10 stay at this property again. Melissa answered our questions really quickly. Honestly cannot think of one negative. I am so glad we chose to stay in Kona at Melissa’s property.

The location and layout of the co ndo we’re great. The lanai was very relaxing and two bathrooms was an extra convenience.
The only deduction to 4 stars is because it could use: new bathroom towels, a coffee grinder to make your own fresh ground Kona coffee (a must for us-pre ground is not good enough), and the layout of the kitchen is rather dysfunctional. All in all it was good and if you are Interested in this condo, I would recommend it. One other benefit is the covered parking space to keep your car shaded.

We enjoyed our stay here but we were greatly disappointed when we arrived. Due to covid I now travel with sanitizing wipes. I wiped the kitchen counter and noticed crumbs and dirt. I then wiped both bathroom countertops and discovered they too were dirty. When I wiped a glass topped dresser and drawers in the bedroom, they were also dirty. I immediately contacted the owner and emailed her photos of my dirty wipes. She apologized and offered to have someone come over to clean but since I cleaned before unpacking, we declined her offer but asked for a refund in our cleaning fee which she did refund. She also said the cleaning company would send a different person in the future. We feel confident that the owner will resolve the problem and we would consider staying here in the future.
