Lots to like about this unit and a few not so much, but no deal breakers. On the positive side: exceptional location within the complex, great view, free coffee on the veranda, coffee grinder, nice beach towels, comfortable beds and pillows, bath rugs in the master are a nice touch, great kitchen. Not so much: parking, only 3 outdoor chairs, lack info (1st aid kit, fans & lights, parking), vent fan in bath inoperative, no patio lights, showers spray onto floors, not enough drying hooks/racks, no coffee scoop, no plastic wrap or foil, coffee pot does not shut off automatically (a safety issue), blinds in master dusty, primary photo of patio furniture is dated and misrepresents what actually is there (older table and 3 [not 4] chairs). We would rent again and recommend without hesitatation.

First off the location and view is over the top! We could not of asked for anything better. Most everybody in the complex actually live there so you won’t get a resort feeling when you stay here, which I actually loved that about the place. The 2 pools are wonderful and are rarely used by the tenants. One pool is a salt water pool which we loved. The other is a standard Chlorine pool which was also nice to be able to give you the option, say if you had younger kids to be able to swim. The mini beach area was to die for! Walk out your door to a beach and ocean! Now onto the living quarters. First off let me say that any WANT we needed were met with enthusiasm and promptness. The property manager was top notch with getting our needs taken care of. We had some issues with water drains which were taken care of quickly and professionally, the space is adequate for 4 adults. The kitchen and dining area was awesome. We loved all the space and view it gave us in the morning! Again let me be very clear you won’t be disappointed when staying here. There were small things that I want the owner to know about so that he ma have the knowledge to help make this place even better.
1. Gate security codes that were given were not correct. This was a pretty big issue when we got to the property. No one was there to help us. I had to get a resident to give me the code.
2. Parking. It would help if our place actually had a reserved parking spot.

Our family loved our stay at this property. It was very clean, updated and well equiped. The location seemed to be the best on the entire property for a panoramic sunset view. Lovely property grounds. There were a couple little things that could have been better such as extremely loud washer, and uncomfortable sofa sleeper. But all things considered we would give it 9/10 and would definitely choose this property again. We highly recommend a stay here!

The perfect location for sunsets and watching the ocean. Close enough for a longish walk to the center of town but far enough to be out of the noise and traffic. Close to all of the excursions and activities. We were there during the Ironman and walked to see start finish line activities and stood right out front to cheer on runners!

This condo was oceanfront and impressed just as advertised. Dawn and Ismael were fantastic to work with as I transitioned from a work conference to this lovely condo. Every night we were entertained with a beautiful sunset and a resident that came out and played his conch shell. This unit is conveniently located and just quick drive to town and local shops and restaurants.

This was a beautifully situated and well appointed condo. It was perfect for our family of four to come home to each night after our daily adventures. Every evening we ate our appetizers on our private lanai to watch the sunset. From the beach just outside our rock wall we watched eels and fish play in the tidal pools. This condo is situated conveniently near shopping, beaches, and other adventures.

The location and amenities were great. The host communicated well and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is a little older than it might look in the pictures, but it’s well taken care of, clean, and filled with friendly people. We’d go back again or recommend it to friends and family without hesitation.

We loved our stay at Casa de Edemko! It was the perfect spot for catching those famous Hawai’i sunsets and watching the waves crash onto the rocks. We even saw sea turtles grazing in the surf at night. It was magical!
The space was perfect for 4 of us and we loved the location.
We would definitely recommend this to friends and will likely book again when we make it back to the Big Island.

The location on the property is what makes this unit great. You can sit on your porch and have an oceanfront view and a community shared sand area. Every evening, a large group of residents gather to see the sunset right in front of the porch which can be an upside or downside depending on how social you are. There is a rocky tide pool area with fish and eels to view but no sandy beach to walk into the ocean from but those beaches are not far at all from this location.
We had some slight issues with a neighbor’s remodel effecting our internet for a few days but the property manager was ultra responsive and coordinated many people to get it resolved as quick as possible. There were a few maintenance issues and the manager was quick on that too.
A few more items in the kitchen would have been nice to have like a cutting board and maybe storage containers.
There is free coffee in the common area in the mornings and a few has grills in the common area which was very cool. The salt water pool was also awesome and never busy.
I definitely recommend this place for a solid vacation base camp.

Very dirty (will send pix)...nite #1 (limited sleep) A/C did not work so HVAC worker came the next day to fix a problem they said they were aware of the problem.....dead & live roaches on the floor...TV & internet were unplugged behind entertainment center. No bucket under ice maker so cleaned the mess up it made in freezer. Not enough lounge chairs at pool so sat on edge of pool

I am confident in saying we had the best condo in the whole building. It was the condo immediately in front of the beach and the location COULD NOT be any better. We were greeted with a sweet personalized note from the owner as well as chocolate covered Mac nuts and pineapple cookies. It was a very thoughtful touch. The overall cleanliness of the condo was great. It came very well stocked (note to owner-your wine opener is broken.) and had a ton of fun beach items (umbrella, chairs, san toys, etc. Beach towels would be a great addition). Also a washer and dryer was IN the condo! That came in clutch with my family because I have two kids. So why the four stars? Although only one complaint it does have significant value-mold. There was a thick layer of mold on the A/C vents. It was thick throughout most of the vents and while I do understand its hard to keep under control being so close to the ocean, I do believe it should be a priority. My husband ended up cleaning the vents. We did go without A/C one night which was detrimental to my husband and he called twice to try and get it fixed. Turns out, it was out for the whole building but we learned that from a neighbor, not the owner or repair guy. A little communication can go a long way but we are happy to report that they got it fixed the next day. The master shower has an enormous shower head that gets water all over the floor and to the toilet no matter how hard you try not too. I suggest a different head, even though that one is really nice...it just doesn't work for that shower.
Overall-we would stay there again! The location can NOT be beat and Im praying that it survived the huge wave Kona just had. The pools are great and to the left of the property is a great place to explore the tide pools. Look for the heart wall and add your own!

This property could be so much better. The pluses: Location, beachfront, size. The property minuses: minimal parking, no hot tub.
Our experience: Check in was easy. The property managers to a person were pleasant, helpful, full of great ideas, and responsive. The problem appears to be the property owner, who has been unwilling to put forth basic maintenance on the property. These are the major issues, and I have photographs: The screen to the front door was broken, and the lock rusted, and sticking. The slider to the patio door had a broken door handle, which made it very difficult to open. Most of the windows in the living room had absent or broken shades. Someone had hung up two shower curtains over the sliding glass doors to the poolside patio for minimal privacy. This had to be lifted out of the way to try and get out the (broken) door. The property managers indicated the owner didn't think that privacy was necessary, and they were awaiting permission to fix or replace the screen door. Since it was my daughter and I staying in the ground floor beachfront condo, we certainly enjoyed the view, but felt like zoo animals as anyone on the seawall, on the sand, doing morning yoga, or sitting in the pool and patio area could see into the condo. The master bath shower was plugged. A handyman tried to snake it, but it still backed up with gross goo and required a commercial plumber to come fix it a couple of days later. We arrived late Friday, and had workmen there through Tuesday... not ideal for vacation. The minor gripes: The shower head is installed so that it showers the floor in front of the toilet, and can't be adjusted downward. The fan in the master bath is quite low, and easy to hit when trying to blow dry your hair, or put it in a pony tail. Most properties in Hawaii supply beach towels. There were two bath sized beach towels. There were no dishwasher tabs for the small 18" dishwasher, but the manager was happy to bring some.
Full disclosure: The property manager refunded two days of our stay because of our dissatisfaction with the condition of the property. When we left, the shower was draining, and the screen door had been fixed. Hopefully, the property managers will be able to facilitate further repairs.

Prior to our arrival we were given all the necessary information about access and location. It made very easy. Parking is first come first serve which is fair. We had to park a ways away at night but there's a great turn around spot right by the unit which made it easy to load and unload people and gear. The condo is appointed very well. The pictures in the listing did a good job describing the place. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, kitchen had new or near new appliances. Every kitchen tool was included. The coffee maker didn't work properly, but I mentioned it to the staff and a replacement was brought out the same day. There were coffee filters and a coffee grinder which made my day! Although we didn't use them there was beach gear available, like snorkels, masks, boogie boards and beach chairs. We used the provided BBQ several times. There was always one available. People congregate in the sitting area near the BBQs in the afternoon/evening and everyone was very friendly. Some were renters and some were residents but everyone was happy! Makes sense given the location. Speaking of location, you will need a car, which was not a surprise since I looked it up the location on Google Maps, also it's a Big Island and to do the touristy things you need wheels. Finally, every communication I had with owner or staff was friendly, timely and professional. We will definitely plan to stay here again when we come back. Thanks and Thank you Angela, you Rock!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect for going downtown to eat or for exploring the island. The whales made an appearance just about every day with breaching on two occasions. The beach outside was great and the pools were clean and refreshing. The master shower could use a curtain to keep water from getting on floor. Could use a bit more silverware for a party of 4. One additional outside chair would also be good for a party of 4. Consider adding a small dresser in 2nd bedroom. Overall, highly recommended!!

Arriving after dark with the surf high was such an amazing experience! Every day with the views both directions was so wonderful! We loved the grounds, and our group of 5 could disperse for reading in the afternoon easily. The accomodations were super comfortable and provisions well stocked. We did run out of toilet paper and paper towels, but with the convinience store on the grounds, even that wasn't hard to replenish. The pin in the listing looked like the unit was back off the ocean front, but in fact it's RIGHT there. What a great experience!

We enjoyed our stay right on the water!!! A few things that maybe should be fixed. Two blinds were missing in the living room. That normally wouldn’t be a problem but being on first floor, people walking back and forth could see right in. Also, the tv in the master bedroom did not work. The ice maker did not work either. Other than those things our stay was very enjoyable.

We had a great stay. Everything was as advertised. The complex was nice and the pools were bigger than we thought. Only negative was the water pressure in the showers. When we arrived it was fine but as more people checked in and arrived in the complex, the pressure went WAY down.

Unit had been recently remodeled with new kitchen and appliances and had been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. When you walked in, there was a musty smell. There was noticeable mildew on the kitchen wall above the cabinets, also in the master bedroom dresser. Even with thorough air ventilation, the musky smell remained strong in the entire condo
The shower in the master bathroom had poor water flow. We were able to unscrew the showerhead and clean the screen which greatly improved the water flow. Faucets in the master bathroom were mostly clogged and water just trickled out. We called in on Sunday and were told that a work order was created, but the problem was not addressed during our stay.
Looking through previous reviews, the water flow and musky smell have been a longtime problem in the condo, which was never addressed.
There was a large covered common area with seating and BBQ stations to use. We did not end up using either of the two pools.
Overall, the property was nice, and the condo location is amazing – right on the ocean with a perfect view of the sunset.

We requested an earlier check in and were denied because of covid. Arrived about 15 min early and it was ready. Didn’t know we needed a parking pass. Condo has a musty odor but once we got the fans going it was fine. No water pressure in the master shower. Otherwise it was a great condo. The view from the lanai is breath taking. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Both pools were open. This property is not walk able to town. Thanku for the wonderful stay!

The location of our unit was what made this place so awesome. Sunset front row views every night! The beds were comfortable, the condo had what we needed as far as appliances. We did have to purchase more toilet paper, paper towels, ziplock bags, Saran Wrap, garbage bags, laundry soap, spices, oil, etc. wish there was a little more of those items. There’s a small liquor store a few minutes away to grab items needed. We were super disappointed that the Oceanside pool was under construction. They told us 1 week before arrival. The unit stays super cool with AC or just the ceiling fans. We walked to Kona Town several times…for the exercise, but it’s a 5 min drive otherwise. You can’t beat the sunset views each night here and the local residents do a ceremonial sunset shell blowing that adds to the experience. Mahalo!

In some respects this property was great. The good: the property was clean, the air conditioning worked well, there were a ton of towels (very nice for a beach vacation), there were lots of beach accessories to use (chairs, umbrella, toys etc), the location was good for exploring by car but if you are looking to walk to restaurants and bars this is not it. The community was pleasant and sunsets from the patio or shared "beach" area were great.
Now for the bad: we were emailed hours before checking in that the salt water pool would be unavailable for our stay. It was clear when we got there that this was not a sudden construction project that just started. That really rubbed me the wrong way as it seemed a little deceitful to wait until check in day to mention anything. We also got notified about needing a parking tag though there was no mention of that in check in instructions. Additionally there is construction going on with the units next to this one. It's completely blocked off to access the unit so we had to walk (with our small kids) through a construction zone every time we came and went. The construction also reduced significantly the amount of parking near the unit so we frequently had to park outside the gate. The water pressure as others have mentioned was almost non existent which is not ideal after a day at the beach. The kitchen had no basics (salt, pepper, oil etc for cooking) but did have ample cookware and plates/cups. They only provided 3 trash bags which felt stingy for no reason. I don't want to purchase trash bags during my stay. Also there was no shampoo or conditioner in either bathroom. They give you one bar of soap so bring your own or expect to buy it.

We stayed for 2weeks at this condo, over a month on the Big Island with 4 different rentals. And the point is we've been doing this for a long time and know much of the rental inventory all different price ranges. This Community is different than most in that it's the oldest and has it's own really good vibe between full time residents and renters. The value is here! This is a great deal, one of the only 2 really nice, updated units. We were very comfortable, worked during the day, enjoyed sunset and the salt water pool in the evening. For sure would stay here again.
