My wife and three young adult daughters stayed for a week over Christmas. Really enjoyed going to sleep at night listening to the waves, having morning coffee on the lanai with the beautiful sunrise, the great beach access, the walkway and short walk to local shops and restaurants in Kapaa. Was a great space and central location to enjoy Kauai! Would highly recommend.

We had the most INCREDIBLE stay at this condo! The beach view does not get any better than this! It is also spacious with a full kitchen (which saved us a lot of money on food), has VERY comfortable beds, two large bathrooms and a comfortable living area to relax after long days in the sun! We loved having the AC units available if we needed them. This host was great at communication and has truly thought of and provided everything needed to have a great vacation! We really enjoyed having Tommy bahama beach chairs and beach umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards and sand toys all provided by the host. We have had to rent those items in the past on trips to Kauai and it can be pricey, so we really loved having them available and ready to use! We used them everyday. One thing to keep in mind is that because this is a private rental, the resort does not provide pool towels, so bring the beach towels from the condo when you hit the pool! We loved the pool and hot tub. The resort itself is breathtaking. It has hammocks all around the resort for lounging, along with games , BBQ’s and other things to do. We enjoyed the nice little beach right outside the condo that we went to when we didn’t want to drive to another beach. You can’t beat this spot! Our stay here was by FAR our favorite visit to Kauai and a lot of that credit goes to this condo being close to shops and beaches and the host providing everything we needed and more! We will absolutely be back for another stay here!

My mom and I recently stayed at the Big Pono Aloha, and had a great experience. The location of the resort and the resort itself were perfect. It's super easy to walk to anything you need in Kapa'a from the condo, and the beachfront walkway is right outside your door.
We had a couple issues during our stay that were quickly resolved by the on island management team and the property owner. Despite the problems, I'd stay again and recommend the property to my friends and family.

Well maintained and a comfortable home to stay in. Property was well kept with constant maintenance to upkeep, all staff were polite and helpful. Did not have all the amenities because we rented through VRBO but the house was equipped with what we needed (pool towels). Location can’t be beat, view was impressive. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed this condo very much. The only complaint or suggestion would be to update the bathtub/shower and the spare bedroom is a little dark. Otherwise, perfect spot.

We had a wonderful experience, we were able to relax and enjoy the beach view, wake up every morning and watch the sunrise. We went to go to the nearby grocery store, and made our own food. We were also able to go to the local beaches and use the beach gear provided in the closet. I highly recommend Lydgate beach park. We had an absolute all-around great experience that will be remembered for a lifetime.

This property was just as advertised! It was a great location and had a beautiful view. We witnessed a few breathtaking sunrises. The main bedroom has a beautiful picture window with ocean views, and we fell asleep each night to the sounds of the waves. Easy to walk to restaurants/shops in Kapaa, including easy access to shave ice! :) We are a family of 4 (kids age 4 & 8) and we loved the pool, yard games and access to all the beach equipment you will need for a fun stay. We also used the communal grills several times. We liked the location of the condo, as it provided easy access to all areas of the island. Laundry is not in the unit, but it is very easy to access - just bring your quarters. We never had trouble running a load when needed. We had one minor issue with the door code, but the hosts/property managers responded immediately and no other issues for the rest of our stay! We will gladly stay here again on a future stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Pono Kai. The property had beautiful views as advertised. It was lovely to have the view from both the lanai and the master bedroom. Spacious kitchen and almost fully stocked. Some supplies for the beach as well! Thanks for a wonderful stay! Hope to be back some day!

This condo was perfect for our son, his wife and their young son.
The views of the water and the sunrise were spectacular even when it was a bit cloudy.
They used the pool and hot tub every day for at least two hours. We all used the BBQs for meals on several days.
The place was spotless and very well stocked with everything they needed. Boogie boards and snorkels were unexpected but so nice to have. We did not want to spend the money to buy them but to be able to borrow them was such a treat.
I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone I know.

Perfect location, beautiful view of the ocean with sunrise every morning. The condo had everything we needed. We have been here for a week and have had beautiful weather for end of December/early January. There was no need to contact the owners during our stay but before we left I had a couple questions and got an answer right away.

Ocean front at a beautiful resort. If you love to wake up and fall asleep listening to the sound of the ocean, and walking along the oceanfront literally steps from your door, this is the perfect spot. Lots of room to stretch out, family time, quiet time. Spacious bathrooms and family room areas bigger than pictured. AC units and the Resort amenities made it even better. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, hammocks, renting snorkeling gear, grilling fresh tuna and walking into the shopping areas. PERFECTION for our first trip. Thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, in a condo very near where we honeymooned. The only negative issue was the noisy group of teenaged girls, downstairs for a couple of days.

Comfy beds, well-stocked with boogie boards and beach chairs, gorgeous view- we had a blast! My only advice would be a smoother exit. The host locked us out the moment the clock struck 10, leaving some bags stranded in the condo as we were making trips to the car. He responded quickly to unlock the door, but it was definitely a moment of panic.

This condo was well appointed and the location was fabulous. We loved watching the ocean waves roll in every morning and evening. The path in front of the condo was great for walking to the shops/eateries. We had fun exploring what Kapa’a had. Pono Kai had great amenities. We enjoyed mini-golf, table tennis, and feeding the koi. We wished we had used the great lawn chess game and croquet. Laundry was convenient and having a door code was much nicer than a key. Communication with owners was easy and timely. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we found ourselves on beautiful Kauai!

The rental process was very easy and the owners responded quickly to questions. It is a top unit near the end of the complex so it was very quiet (if you don’t count the roosters. They are an integral part of Kauai.)

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely condo with us! My husband and I were celebrating our belated 25th anniversary and it was a wonderful spot to reset and relax. We had an awesome time at Pono Aloha! The location was perfect and the condo had everything we needed to make it our home away from home. We especially enjoyed The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook by Andrew Doughty that was in the drawer in the hallway. Not only was it extremely informative, it was also hilarious to read! I've stayed in many places on Kauai but this was truly a lovely spot with the beach only steps away. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to the beach, close to Kapaa, yet away from the road so no traffic noise. Communication with the owners was timely and helpful. If you choose to stay at Pono Aloha, you won't be disappointed.

Terrific condo and terrific location on Kauai. Beachfront makes for super afternoon relaxing (with shade if desired) after a day of exploring, hiking, shopping or whatever. Condo has a great supply of “beach necessities” which really came in handy for activities, plus Pono Kai resort augments with some on-site fun as well (pool, spa, croquet, chess, putting, and gas BBQs). Two coffee shops a very short walk away perfect after watching the sunrise. The property is centrally located with easy access to the north or south and plenty to do right in Kapa’a. The bedroom/bath and # of beds was absolutely perfect for our little family of four with everyone getting their own, real bed (not just a cot or couch like other properties). Kitchen well stocked with utensils and cooking necessities. Being on the windward side for early summer was great because the condo easily aired out with the breeze. Thanks so much, would stay here every time.
