You cannot go wrong with staying in the Waikoloa Villas, the grounds are beautiful, pools/spas are great and the location of this condo is great being near the end of the complex. We have been staying in Waikoloa for many years and we know how the older condo units look, which is what you get with this unit. With that said, the bed was comfortable and we appreciated the ground floor lanai. We would have liked a few more items in the kitchen to accommodate bbq in the pool area as no glass items allowed (we used a Costco cardboard box as our carrying tray and borrowed melamine plates from friends in the complex to put food on when bbq). We would rent here again if the opportunity presented itself.

Great location great complex. Unit was clean and owners rectified lack of hand soap and toilet paper. The unit, the towels and kitchen stuff has been enjoyed by many and is just tired and showing their age. Totally functional just a bit out of line for price point.

If I could give this property 10 stars I would. It wasn't the fanciest place but it felt like home. You won't find fancy coffees or chandeliers, but you will find absolutely everything you need to cook (even a blender!) in the spacious kitchen, everything you need to go to the beach (including chairs and boogie boards), and a wonderful view with gentle breezes on the porch (which overlooks a golf course all the way to the ocean). Sure, the beds are all in one room, but they are comfortable and there is a nice closet. There is no air conditioning, but the fans kept it cool enough. And, there are passes to a huge (Olympic sized?) pool and a yummy outdoor restaurant right down the road. I adore this place. Everything about it made me feel at home, right down to the music stand in the corner of the living room. I won't even bother to look for another place to stay on the Big Island. This is it for me.

Location is far from Kailua but it’s nice, quiet and people are friendly. Manager was easy to work with.

Check-in was super easy. Condo was decent. Lots of bedding for sleeping. TV option could be updated but who is really spending enough time in the condo to actually watch TV. The first night was super hot and there is no AC but easy fix if you open bedroom windows and the windows beside the sliding door, the breeze just flows right through. As long as you follow the rules you shouldn't have any problems. Communication with owner was easy and they are very responsive. The property has all the necessary appliances ex: microwave, blender, coffee maker, stove, refrigerator, etc. There is a pool and jacuzzi on property that is open until 9pm. The views are great. Sits right on a golf course. Thank you. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved everything about it. Peaceful, quiet. Next to convenient stores, away from all the hustle and bustle. clean house, beautiful sunset. No complaints from us.

Enjoyed our stay at the condo. Clean and had great views while eating on the patio. I was worried about no AC but with the windows open and air flow it remained comfortable.

I like the location of the unit on the golf course, it has a pleasant view. The place was a bit outdated, the outdoor furniture is rusty and the cushions provided for the outdoor furniture were moldy. The kitchen was well stocked. There were multiple ant traps all over the condo including in the kitchen drawers by the utensils. The place had a musty smell which I thought it would go away after hours of airing out the unit but it didn't. I'm not sure what caused it. The check out instructions for departure were easy to follow and conveniently provided in the guest directory. The unpleasant part was to see an extra unauthorized, unjustified charge to our account of $300. When I called the owner to politely ask about these charges I got yelled at, called names and accused, he was very rude and kept interrupting me to yell at me. It was very disappointing. The charges were supposedly for "exceptionally dirty condition" when we left the place clean so that was a shock. I took all the garbage out and the recycling, but he said I didn't take the trash out, I tossed all the food out and wiped the fridge and all the countertops, he said food was left in the unit, he said I left a bag of ice on the floor when I didn't purchase any ice during my stay, he yelled that I used all the towels when we used one beach towel each and one regular towel each, like that should even matter how many towels a guest is using. I know for a fact I tossed all the food, did all the dishes, took out all the garbage and recycling, swept the floor the morning of our departures, his accusations didn't make sense because I followed all the check out instructions. This negative experience made me appreciate so much more all our hosts we ever had in our trips when we stayed in vacation rentals. Typically it was very easy to communicate with the owners or property management if we had any questions and I never had any surprises. My suggestion would be if you choose to stay here to take pictures when you leave, that way you can prove to this owner you did the typical cleaning required. I didn't think to take pictures as it was never needed.
