Casa de Emdeko 116

Welcome to our beautiful Oceanside Garden home at Casa De Emdeko. We welcome you as ohana (family) to our tastefully renovated one-bedroom ground floor suite, twenty steps to the ocean.

We had looked for a long time all over Kona before deciding on this unit. It's in the perfect location for accessibility and enjoyment of all the amenities at “The Casa” It is large enough for a family to enjoy together comfortably and affordably at 920 square feet. Our unit has undergone major renovations in 2018 to provide our guests with upgraded modern conveniences of all-new furniture, kitchen and appliances- while maintaining some of the 1960's retro aloha-vibe of the original construction. We wanted to remodel the space and create an open, social and relaxed atmosphere with many areas for people to relax and enjoy- indoors and out.

Our deluxe 920 square foot one-bedroom unit has a brand new king-size bed, a queen-sized sofa bed in the living room, twin-sized fold-down cot with 5” memory foam mattress, and the chaise in the living room converts into a twin bed.

All new linens, and crisp organic cotton sheets invite you to slumber deeply. Open the windows if you prefer and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. Wake up naturally with the Hawaiian sunrise over the mountain and let the bird song and the breeze coax you awake.

Ease into your morning with a Kona Coffee on the lanai or by the ocean. We have a French Press, Drip coffee maker and Italian Espresso maker for whatever suits your taste (we love coffee- Kona is the place to drink the best!) Later in the day, relax, enjoy our central AC- and sink into our comfy chairs with a Mai Tai. Stay a little cooler and crank up the ceiling fans and put on some tunes on our Bluetooth stereo, or put your feet up and catch up on a little cable TV or Netflix- complimentary to our guests. Two TVs and highspeed WiFi will let you rent your favorite movies. Keep in touch with family and friends with a little Facetime- or catch up on work if you must!

Casa de Emdeko 116 is in the perfect location to spend your day relaxing by the ocean or as a base for Big Island Adventures- visiting local farmer's markets, coffee plantations and incredible beaches. Magic Sands Beach is a 5-minute drive south. Water sports, tours, snorkelling, and diving on the Big Island are world class. Visit historical sites and learn more about Hawaii's fascinating history. Take a trip to the top of Mauna Kea to watch the stars by the world's best observatories, or plan a day or overnight, or busy trip to the east side of Hawaii to Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park, sugar plantation town of Hilo, and pay a visit to where Pele sleeps to witness evidence of longest continually erupting volcano at Kilauea about a three-hour drive away. New black sand beaches formed in 2018 call to you to be discovered.

Casa De Emdeko was built in 1969- and was one of the first condo buildings built near the town of Kailua-Kona. The complex is a beautiful gated u-shaped building set back from historical Ali'i Drive- the road of ancient Hawaiian Kings. You will delight in the beautiful meticulously maintained garden of mature plumeria, hibiscus, bougainvillea and palm. A garden of flowers marks the edge of our lanai and leads you 20 feet to the ocean. Here lies a lava-rimmed salt water pool- just beyond the wall- the mighty Pacific. To your right, the cabana. Mid-century architecture and lava-stone walls remind you of the exotic Hawaii of times past. Three BBQs are here for guests, and tables, chairs for dining. tiki torches are lit at night. All this, steps from your unit.

If you turn the opposite direction from the ocean, the other way from our lanai- you will find our second pool. The second pool is also 20 steps from your unit. Lined with palm trees and bird of paradise- this pool is an oasis in a tropical garden.

Beyond the tiki torches and cabana- follow three steps down to the man-made sandy beach. A lava stone wall surrounds this palm tree area and invites you to recline with a good book or a frosty drink on one of the many loungers available to our guests. This area can also be accessed without steps from the opposite side of the beach. Come and watch Kona's unrivaled sunset here every night, when guests and residents gather to raise a glass and celebrate the spectacular end of another day in paradise.
oasis in a tropical garden.

Kona has many cultural festivals and celebrations throughout the year that delight visitors and residents of Hawaii alike. Come visit us for Iron Man in October- but book ahead!

We hope that you and your ohana will fall in love with Hawaii too. It's our favorite island, and there is nowhere else like it in the world. Come and experience the best of West Side Hawaii! Aloha!

***2019 News! Casa 116 is a big sister! We have a new one-bedroom unit at the Casa on the third floor- Unit 321! She's a beauty! Same great style, same great aloha- with an amazing view and wrap around lanai.
