Been to Maui many times, first time staying at Papakea. This is a great condo for a family of 5, love the resort, condo was clean with great extras, beach chairs, umbrella, even putters and balls for playing on putting green right in fromt of condo. Outdoor space was fantastic, and location was great, close to pool, really as good as anywhere we have stayed in Kaanapali.

The resort is gorgeous! We've stayed here before and never been disappointed. This unit was exactly as listed and had so many extras for families to utilize and enjoy! We appreciated the beach chairs, towels amd cooler for the beach trips! Will definitely be back asap again!

We absolutely loved our stay in Papakea K105. The resort is wonderful. Our little kids loved the pool. We loved being on the ground floor so we could just walk out to the pool. Our whole family loved the location (walking down to put our feet in the ocean, the nearby food truck park, being centrally located for great snorkeling beaches). We hope to return someday soon!

We had a great stay here. The location really cannot be beat! Ground floor and steps from the pool and beach. The condo is bright and open, spacious and fully stocked. Lots of comfortable seating outside and inside with a stunning view of the ocean. We really appreciated all the beach gear. A 5 minute walk will have you at the food truck park and plaza up the street. The only fixes needed to the condo are the dishwasher door--look out! It was broken and would constantly drop down so we had to be careful while in the kitchen. The sliding doors to the storage closet and washer dryer need to be fixed as they would not slide without a great deal of effort. Other than that, the place was amazing and the property managers were so friendly and helpful and got back to me immediately if I had questions.Thanks for an amazing stay! We can't wait to come back!

We had a great time in Maui! Our views were great even from the ground floor. The property was well maintained. I’m not sure that this is the place for us in the future though. Our unit needed some work. Paint was peeling in multiple rooms, the sliding door for the washing unit barely moved. There wasn’t really space for a family of 5 to comfortably hang out at night to watch tv or play games. There wasn’t really anything to do for kids or adults besides the pool. Although you can’t hear your neighbors through the concrete walls, the paper thin windows allowed you to hear everyone coming and going at all hours of the night. I hardly slept at all while we were there. Again, nice property, unit needs some TLC. If you are just looking for a place to drop and go, then this may work for you.

This resort has a great pool and hot tub and is located close to so many great beaches and activities. It also included several beach chairs and towels and an umbrella. Enough to accommodate my group of 7. We would highly recommend this property.

This property is beautiful and held all the amenities needed for our group of seven. The condo itself was spacious, clean, and up to date. The location was perfectly placed near put out golf, the pool, and just a few steps away from the ocean, all while walking distance from several stores/restaurants, and food truck park. We very much enjoyed Java Jazz for breakfast during our stay, which was just a short walk away.

Overall it was a great location and the condo, while quite old and a bit worn, was clean. The living room furniture was not real comfortable and the dining room table way too big for the small space. The master bed was VERY comfortable. We could not get the TV in the master bedroom to work - there were 3 remotes and none turned the TV on. I would stay here again, but maybe try to find a different condo.

Overall the experience was wonderful. The property and location of the condo was great for our trip. We had a couple minor issues but nothing that caused any problem with experience of staying at the unit or our trip. (Additional light bulbs need to be put in the ceiling fans in main room and small bedroom, upper towel rack in master bathroom needs to be affixed better would fall, shelf in corner cabient fell, lower shelf in refrigerator fell a few times, and dresser knobs in small bedroom needs to be affixed)Like I said small items but overall experience at the condo was very good

the place had alot wrong with it . pretty dirty . easy stuff like light bulbs needed to be put in, bath bars fell off. coffee pot was growing mold. tv remotes needed batteries.and so on. the property pictures are very misleading!!!!!! there is no beach (rocks) we drove to a beach every day.if your going there to hang by the pool you will love it. just dont go on spring break......the putting greens were great. the landscape was awesome.all "n"all. we hope this review helps you in your quest for a great place to stay.we would like to thank Megan for helping us out .

We had a great time staying at Papakea. The pool and the putting course were HUGE bonuses for our 3 year old! There was construction on the path that would have allowed us to walk directly to the swimming beach, the detour took about 10-15 minutes. The rental said it could sleep 7, but only 4 beach towels were provided, which was a little inconvenient. With 3 children staying in our rental the "Quiet Time" from 10pm-7am was appreciated and observed by all residents. We would definitely consider coming back for another family trip!

We arrived early so we checked to see if could check in early. They said no. Do we went to pool area and hung out. We found our unit and it looked ready. We called and asked again about getting in the room again we’re told no. The excuse was they forget to put hand soap in the bathrooms put when finally got in they had new containers and 1/2full ones. Over all it was very well equips but we had 3 forks for 4 people. They did get us more the next day. If you like to make mixed drinks they had lots of different bar ware options but if you want a drinking glass not so many options
Little things. The biggest problem was the back bedroom did have its own air conditioner and it was a warm room. The windows in both bedrooms is very thin. If anyone was outside your room you could hear everything and it echoes

The condo was very comfortable for my family (3 adults and two children). The kids loved exploring the lovely grounds and they loved just stepping of theLanai to play. The pool was clean and well maintained. Loved being able to hear the waves! The condo itself was adequate. The couch really needs to be replaced. The dining table was nice for all of us for meals. The kitchen was easy to prepare meals - everything was working well. More cutlery is need. I think there was only 5 forks, we had to purchase wooden forks. The beds were comfortable, really appreciate the queen bed in the back bedroom. The back bedroom can be noisy because of the proximity of the elevator. We used noise makers at night that helped reduce the outside noise at night. The condo is perfect for families. All in all it was very comfortable

Papakea K-105 was the perfect rental for my family of 4. My wife, myself and our children aged 23 and 15 enjoyed our stay and would recommend this 100%. The price was right, the location was central to everything on the west side. The condo was well appointed, very clean and had everything we needed. Beach chairs, cooler, blender(ha!), beach towels and more. The grounds were very well kept and the staff were very professional.

I have visited this resort many times over the years and always enjoyed my stay. But I have to say this stay people were very noisy, slamining doors, yelling late into the night. Sense this has never happened before it makes me wonder if the resort is under new management.

Had a great time at Papakea with my family. Perfect location of the unit in the complex and in town for everything we wanted to do. Really accessible for my dad who isn’t handicap but doesn’t get around great….ground floor close to the water and pool awesome. Condo had everything we needed and never had to contact manager. I would stay there again.

The ocean front rental properties are at aconvenient location close to grocery stores and food trucks. The Papakea resort has very nice amenities too. We also appreciated that host even prepared small gift and beach towels, swim noodles. The management may need to tighten the leash on the cleaning service provider though, as we spotted somesmall ants around kitchen cabinets and also some small insects on the table (texted the property management but did it get immediate follow up). The couch also has some visible stains; the bedding sheet for the couch even has some sand .Also the wall mount AC does not seem to be working. Despite some small glitches, we had a great timeoverall.

If you are looking for a place to stay while exploring the west side of the island, this is a great location. The unit was clean and the kitchen well stocked. Loved being on the ground level and just a quick walk to the pool are and ocean. The property has beautiful gardens and you have a partial view of the ocean from the patio. It worked really well for us!

Great location and great property! We had a wonderful 10-day family vacation at the Papakea. Accommodations were clean, the property manager was quick to respond to all of our questions, and the facilities were beautiful and relaxing. We'd definitely recommend this property to family and friends. We were surprised to find the condo stocked with 7 beach towels, 5 beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and sand toys available for our use. Our only suggestion to the property manager is to get the couch cleaned. It's had far too may sweaty bodies lounging on it and it's due for a thorough cleaning.

Unit needs update/repair. Tops of barstools and dining room chairs broken from bases. Couch and living room rug need cleaning. Patio door lock loose and screen door duct taped together; doors rattled with every wind gust. AC inadequate. Internet inadequate to work with and nonexistent almost in second bedroom, making TV useless. Dryer not properly vented; vented inside, creating slick spot on floor when in use. Tommy Bahama chair with broken frame that cut me on opening. Master bath toilet handle broke. Second bath door beat up, and trim broken and jagged. Construction in unit above every weekday starting early with drilling and jackhammering with no notice. Water shut off notice not always given.

The place was ready when we arrived with a nice surprise waiting for us on the kitchen counter. Location was awesome, partial view of the ocean, close to grocery store, restaurants, Whaler's village, Lahaina town, etc.
Some things that were not working - Safe box was not working, the bigger overhead microwave was broken (there was a small microwave provided), toilet door latch for master bath was not working.
Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely recommend!
