The property was nicely maintained and a wonderful location. There was a beach about a 5 minute walk away, two nice pools and large hot tubs on the property. The staff was friendly and parking was easy. Highly recommend!

We had the best vacation in Maui! The rental really had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and I slept like a dream on the most comfortable bed there. The view overlooking Papakea and the ocean was beautiful.

Beautiful property grounds, great amenities, close to beautiful beaches, shopping, restaurants, and neighboring towns. Nice clean condo stocked with everything you need for your entire stay. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Check in and check out were very easy. Enough parking spaces each day. We would definitely come back here again!

Our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 teens/young adults) enjoyed our stay in this condo. The owners had the unit stocked with everything you may need to accommodate your stay in paradise. Many items thoughtfully included for those traveling with toddlers.
The AC logistics is unique but it had working AC which is a huge plus.
The condo was comfortably furnished and the ottoman beds were perfect to offer separate sleeping arrangements.
Papakea resort is the best we have stayed, the grounds are amazing and the view is spectacular. Great amenities and super friendly staff.
Overall a truly enjoyable stay. Would definitely consider again.

The view was great, the location is central to some great snorkeling beaches. Lots of space for my family. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony looking at the garden and ocean views. In the evenings, we walked to the sea wall, laid on the lounge chairs and watched the sunset, later we looked at the stars and finished the day with a peaceful dip in the pool& hot tub before bed. Quiet area, condo was great for a good sleep!

Overall had a good time during our trip. Our 2 year old daughter had fun time playing in the beach (small waves helped her get comfortable) which is like 3 minutes walk from apartment.
Just one downside, every time you wish to turn on the A/C you have to turn the timer in all rooms. Also the instruction in the manual can mention that the "mechanical" timer needs to be twisted. (A/C unit has an inbuilt electronic timer and there is a mechanical timer near the unit in each room)

As stated, location, landscape and view from patio was excellent. Location for us was just what we wanted. Few quirks were solved within a couple of days. The owners were not aware that the keurig coffee, pull out couch, single pullout, sliding door screen, dining table chairs were in need of repair. Due to these problems there was a refund which was appreciated. Just a bummer to deal with this while on vacation and many family outings for a wedding already planned. The elevator is a plus and parking is available but tight space. If you have a baby it’s stocked well. I’m sure the owner has taken care of the problems we encountered. Would stay again!

The resort is beautiful and we loved being able to see whales from the balcony! As mentioned in other reviews, the upstairs bathroom doesn’t have a door and there were some small ants in the kitchen, but this is Hawaii after all and they pretty much went away after we put our food away in the fridge. The location is great and within walking distance of grocery stores, food trucks and the beach. We had a great time!

We rented this property for my husband and I and our son and his wife and our daughter. The beds were all very comfortable, although it has a loft upstairs that is open and has a toilet that has no door. Not ideal for older adult children, better for younger, I would say. we love the property, and the proximity to lots of great beaches that you can walk to. We also enjoy playing pickle ball every day, and there are tennis courts as well.

Our stay here was really nice. The property and pool areas are very clean. The condo was nice, needs some renovations, but overall clean and comfortable. King and Queen beds are very comfortable, the sofa sleeper mattress is decent, but the rest of it is old and needs to be replaced. The view from the patio/deck is gorgeous! There are not any true beaches in front of the property, but you can walk a short distance to small sandy beaches. Really nice to have beach chairs to use, and some snorkel equipment. The washer/dryer are very small, great for small quick loads, not for larger loads. The one bummer is the ant problem in the kitchen. They are tiny little ants, but you cannot leave any food out, at all. We had to keep all of our snack foods on the table, and didn't even serve food from the counter. We made it work, but it was definitely a bit of a pain. Overall beautiful complex and nice location (walking distance to grocery, ABC Store & a few restaurants).

Papaeka D-407 was just want our family needed; especially after waiting an extra ~1,000 days due to the pandemic. This condo was a perfect for us in every way (e.g. size, location, comfortable beds, beach supplies, etc.). The property owners were quick to answer any question before and during our stay. The Papakea Resort was very well kept and had lots of fun activities to enjoy! Thank you Loretta and Darcy!

We had a wonderful stay! The condo was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay special. Great location and walking distance to so much! We went to the Fish Market a few times and loved their fresh seafood(fish burrito was the best). The ABC store was super convenient, only a few steps away. Beautiful beach was a VERY short walk and the sunsets were AMAZING! My Mom and Sister and family also had condos at Papakea and their condos were great as well. We loved the property, lots of palm trees and pretty plants. We miss Hawaii and out condo already! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time in Maui. This property was great - it had all of the necessary items for fun times at the beach. The kitchen was also fully equipped with everything we needed. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The grounds and the view from our lanai were wonderful!

Nice property grounds. The space was tight for more than 2 adults…1 shower and upstairs toilet without a door were low points. Seating in the living room is limited to a small couch and dining table. There is a warning about ants in the kitchen and we found them climbing up walls and in the upstairs bathroom as well. The kitchen was not usable because of the ants. As soon as any food is out they swarm. We stayed at a ground le level property prior to this and Hilda no issues with bugs. Now the good part…the view is beautiful and there are a lot of beach toys available for kids. There is an ABC store (right out the back gate) and nightly food trucks very nearby. There is a great kid friendly beach about 3 miles north of the property.

We had a wonderful stay with our family. Lots to do and the outdoor gardens and pool are beautifully maintained. Plenty of BBQ grills available for our evening meals. The condo had everything we needed for our 20 month old and 6 year old grandsons.
The nearby baby beach and park are a 5 minute walk. A great place for families.

We had never been to Hawaii so we tried 3 locations and 2 islands. We had a great time and really appreciated all the items the condo had! We needed extra help with air conditioning (our own fault!!!!) And owner was soooo fabulous and helpful figuring it all out with us! We had a great time!!!

This Condo was amazing. Perfect for a family. We traveled with 6 and there was plenty of room.
The Condo was well stocked for all of our needs.
Beds were super comfortable, grounds are amazing, and lots of activities included with your stay. My children loved playing tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard, and mini golf! You can also book excursions with the concierge.
The oceanfront views are amazing and location was close to grocery shopping, food trucks, and many activities.
The only thing missing was a 2nd full bath, which was clearly stated in the listing (2nd bath does not have a shower). Hopefully the owner will consider adding this in the future.

The unit had all (and more!) that we needed for our stay on Maui. Having coffee on the lanai looking over the property and ocean was a great way to start the day. The instructions for the unit are very clear and detailed.
The owners were very responsive to any inquiires and took care of a minor problem we had. Papakea is an older condo, but is well-kept. I highly recommend this condo.

This property was perfect for our family vacation. The unit was well equipped with the necessary kitchen and beach items, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was great (although minimally needed). The view from the balcony was amazing, the pool was lovely, the grounds are beautifully maintained and the location was excellent. Many of our excursions were within a fifteen minute drive. It was great to be directly beside an ABC store and within walking distance to a grocery store/strip mall/food trucks. We also enjoyed snorkeling a short walk down the road. We hope to be back someday!!

We arrived a bit early so roamed a bit before check in. Office check in was quick and painless with keys received in no time. Condo is just as advertised. Clean, large enough for the three of us and plenty of water toys, dishes and views. The grounds are well maintained with lots of lounge chairs to sit at the pool or near the ocean. Location was great for ease of traveling to places we wanted to visit. We had a minor issue that was normal wear and tear and choice to break while we were there. The owner was completely responsive and took care of it quickly. We couldn’t have been more happy with our choice to stay here.

I chose this place mainly based on the fact that it was geared towards families. With 4 kids one being a baby, knowing I didn’t need to worry about bringing our pac n play with us made things so much easier. There were games, beach toys, boogie boards for our older kiddos, literally everything you could think of. The kitchen was perfect, feeding a family of 6 made it a lot easier and cheaper. We made breakfast and dinner every night and had all the things I needed to cook. I had an issue figuring out the AC at first but with a quick message to the owner that was all figured out. We also didn’t have enough beach/pool towels at first and after contacting the owner we came back to the unit and had more towels waiting for us. The pool and spa were a great amenity to have to relax after days out exploring. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Maui.

We only stayed in this condo two nights since we stayed with a bigger group earlier in the week but it worked great for our short stay. Our two boys loved staying in the loft. The condo was well stocked & it was a good location. We enjoyed walking over to the food truck court for dinner one evening. We had a good stay!

For parents with kids or even just a retired couple, Papakea and in particular, this unit has everything you need! We had a few issues with appliances but the property owner got them explained and serviced ASAP. We hope to come back someday with our granddaughter to enjoy it some more!

Check-in was easy, showing either negative CoVid test/vaccination card just like you do at airport. There are luggage carts to help ease transferring belongings from the car to the unit. The unit itself is fully stocked with all the things you’d want for a beach vacation, even down to the aloe vera gel. Everything is labeled to make it super user friendly and easy. Plenty of storage and cabinet space. The view from this corner unit is probably one of the best on this whole resort. The windows and double sliding glass door onto the lanai opens the entire up downstairs and the breezes are fantastic. When you do need to use the A/C it’s super easy to operate, need to set all three timers even if you’re just cooling down one area. Didn’t have any issues with bugs, we followed the directions in not leaving any open food out. The pool area has an abundance of lounge chairs and grills, always available when you want to use them. So many things within walking distance! Outside directly in front is the sea wall, to the left you walk across the grass down the path and it’ll take you across a little bridge over to Kaanapali beach (5min). If you want to head over to the baby beach you can cut through the parking lot directly behind your building and use the gate by the ABC store (10min walk). You can use your key card to get back through that gate.
If we plan another trip to Maui we would definitely choose this place again!

The place was situated in a good location. Conveniently located by ABC and a supermarket and several places to grab a quick bite.
My main gripe is the dryer. The washer and dryer took forever that it wasn't worth to do laundry. Which we needed because we had young kids.. We tried to dry a towel and 6 pieces of clothing and the drum of the dryer never got hot. It took literally 8 hrs to dry it. Hand washing and hanging clothes outside became the necessary task for clean clothes, something I didn't want to do on vacation.
I tried to text the owner about getting garbage bags but never heard back so I ended up just buying it. However prior to the trip she responded via email. Maybe the number on vbro was wrong.
The apartment was stock with tons of kids stuff, life jackets, fins, masks, goggles, beach mat, and a scale. Which was great because we have young kids. Our ac worked well but it blew so hard on the kids heads upstairs that they had to sleep without the ac. The remote to lower the strength of the ac upstairs didn't work.
The pool and sauna was nice. The hotel is a quick walk to a beach. Beware of the rocks.

This is a wonderful place to stay especially with our family of 5. Papakea has been a destination for my family since I was a kid, and it never disappoints. This unit is great, as are the hosts. There are all sorts of useful things available. Yes, another shower would be great as all who commented but frankly a luxury compared to a standard hotel room. There are great dining options nearby, food trucks, restaurants, you name it. Eagle Riders is a quick walk away for scooter and motorcycle rentals. They have since upgraded some of the windows since our last visit, I love how they take care of this unit and it really shows. Don't hesitate if you're looking for a wonderful home base for your Maui adventure.

The property and the condo were great! Great location, great views, and decently sized enough for our family of 6. Our young kids slept on the pull out sofa, one adult couple in the closed off bedroom, and kids' parents up in the loft. It was a bit challenging (but never a deal breaker) to only have 1 shower for all 6 of us. There is a toilet, sink, mirror, and bathroom space up in the loft but no shower. Nice that there is A/C because it did get quite stuffy in there in July - it wasn't the easiest thing to figure out even with the instructions posted everywhere but eventually we figured out all the lights, fans, and A/C. The condo is stocked full of everything you need (especially if you travel with very young kids, which we don't anymore, but would have appreciated all that stuff if ours were still infants/toddlers). The beach gear was plentiful and included beach chairs, body boards, beach towels, snorkel gear, coolers, bags, and more. Communication with the property owners was easy - check in process was fairly easy but you did have to jump through a few more Covid hoops like showing documentation of vaccine/negative test results while checking in, so just be prepared with documents. Overall we loved it and would go back if we have the opportunity.

We had such a great stay at this condo! The view really is as amazing as it looks in the pictures. Our fam had fun snorkeling at the nearby Baby Beach and really enjoyed all of the beach supplies. Packing up for a beach day was a breeze - we had everything we needed right there. The condo is right next to a bunch of Food Trucks and across the street from several grocery stores and restaurants. When we return, we would love to stay here again!!
