The seawall and the observation deck perched above it are literally 30 steps from your front door! You will enjoy the fresh clean air and stunning views while listening to the constant crash of the waves against the seawall.

Ocean View- There is both a garden and partial ocean view from the condo, framed by swaying palms and fragrant plumeria trees.

Additional Location Information- Honokawai is located on the Northwest shore of Maui, with views of the islands of Molokai and Lanai across the channel. Maui Sands epitomizes old school Hawaii ambiance. This is a low density property, with beautiful grounds, including mango and banana trees.

We are a very easy short walk from some lovely beaches and Honokawai park. There are many good local restaurants, a large grocery store, two farmers markets, a health food store, a coffee shop and some great spa facilities, all within a 3-5 minute walk. One of the favorite things about this location is the Farmers Market that is a short walk away across from the Honokawai Beach Park. They hold a special outdoor produce market with free samples on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, but they offer fresh organic produce and a deli from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week.

A short drive south to Whalers Village, and further on to Lahaina brings you to great Front Street shopping and historic sights. The Historic town of Lahaina (once the capital of Hawaii) has something for everyone, from Warren and Annabelles Magic Show (some of the best close hand magic we've ever seen) to shopping and the Award Winning Ulalena show at the Maui Myth and Magic Theater. You will have no problem finding great entertainment.

The Wharf in Lahaina has it's share of wonderful excursions to choose from as well. We particularly like Trilogy for a day trip to the Island of Lanai. There are many sunset cruises to choose from along with snorkeling, fishing, sailing, and whale watching trips to fit most budgets.

North towards Kapalua there are 3 more championship golf courses, as well as fabulous beach walks and mountainside hiking! Nothing like a sunset view from the side of a volcano!

We are within minutes of some terrific restaurants and a short drive from many many more. Ocean gear such as fishing equipment, snorkel gear, and kayaks can be rented within walking distance. There is a bicycle and scooter rental across the street.

Some of our favorite Island Highlights would be: traveling the Road to Hana, with waterfalls and sight-seeing around every bend: sunrise or sunset viewing from the top of our volcano, Haleakala; picnicking at historic I'ao Valley, with a short walk up to I'ao Needle and back by way of the I'ao Stream Trail, and many more!

Additional Info- Maui boasts a whale season from the latter part of November to mid April every year when the whales return to breed and give birth.
This unit is perfect to snorkel, paddle board and kayak right off the shoreline! The property resides within the Kahekili Marine Reserve which is one of 3 conservation zones on the island of Maui.

There are three volcanic reefs that run parallel to the shoreline. During low tide, the inner area, between the seawall and the first reef is perfectly protected for keiki to play in the water and build sand castles. Between the first and second reef, the water is between 7' and 4' deep, perfect for swimming with the turtles and enjoying a morning swim. Outside the second reef, and inside the third, is a wonderful labyrinth of lava nooks and crannies that provide great snorkeling!
Maui is a magical place at all times of year!

"BE AWARE that repairs to our seawall began April 15, 2019 in front of a nearby building The work being done involves earth moving equipment so noise can be expected, but work activity is planned to occur only during weekday hours between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. During the day, access to the pool, barbecue and laundry areas will be detoured with temporary fencing throughout the property. The walk from our assigned parking space is still easily accessible to the unit. The GOOD NEWS is that we will continue to have direct beach access via stairs at the north end of the property.
The work being done is not construction of a seawall, but repair of the existing seawall.
The seawall runs the length of the shoreline fronting this property, along which are building 5, a common area and then north of that building 4.
Currently (this update was written 4/26/19) the work is being done in the area between the seawall and building 5. The noisy portion of the work is being done between 8:30am and 4:30 pm on week days.
As the work progresses we expect the repair work to be concentrated on the area in front of building 4, or the common area between the buildings. The access to the ocean and the pool and BBQ will remain available."
