- noisy due to surf proximity and shuttered screens at the front; bedrooms are pretty good for noise;
- living room pullout is noisy when tide and surf are up (booming waves); pullout isn't great for comfort
- neighbourhood is good for groceries, cafes; not great for direct access to nice walking or good beach access (that being said, in ten minutes walk you can be on Kaanapali)
- water access in front of condo-plex is limited due to reef and surf; beautiful though, with greens and blues in water; Molokai across the channel; occasional humpbacks and turtles

Everything and more than we hoped for in a vacation property. Get in the ocean or get in the pool. Amazing sunsets and moon sets. Awesome neighborhood for food/coffee choices. I started to call the stretch of water off the lanai “The Turtle Highway”. Great communication with the property owner on any questions. The location is truly one of Maui’s jewels.

We had a great time at this condo. It was clean and had all the things we needed to have a great vacation. The lanai was perfect for eating breakfast or just lounging during the day. Access to the beach was very convenient. We loved being able to just go down to ocean anytime and swim.
The condo had dishes, pots and pans, and tons of appliances to make meals. It was stocked with spices and condiments as well. There were beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards you can use.
Overall we had a great time here and would definitely come back again!

Laura's place is a masterclass in VRBOs. Yes, the view is that stunning, and way more. Yes, the roar of the ocean is right outside the lanai, and we waded and snorkeled every day. There are mango and banana trees right outside the apartment, and the uncrowded complex in general is ideally located right across the street from an incredible fish market and only 10 minutes from Lahaina Town. But also, we've stayed at a lot of VRBOs, and the thoughtfulness put into every detail is next level. The gift of chocolates and coffee; the supplies in the kitchen; the QR code for the wifi; the complete stock of beach toys and snorkeling gear; all the towels; the stock of toiletries including coral-safe sunblock; the multiple guides to Maui; the outlets just where you need them; the ease of check-in and communication: WOW. Thank you, Laura!

Great visit! We spent two weeks here and of course loved it. The spectacular views and breath taking sunsets speek for themselves! There is much more that sets this unit apart from the others. This was our third time staying in this building.. but first time in "4E"
The new AC.... in unit laundry... and fully stocked activity closet add to a great stay.
Property manager was great, super helpfull but not intrusive. She went above and beyond to help our family out of a pinch!!!
This one is a gem! See you next year!!!!

Listening to waves and watching whales, boats and turtles was very enjoyable from the lanai. All amenities of home to cook your own meals. Things also to enjoy the outdoors, such as chairs, coolers, beach towels and boogie boards. Excellent home away from home!!

Although the building is older, the condo is well equipped. The location for watching whales was amazing. Condo has a pair of binoculars for use. We saw so many whales it was incredible. 2 bedrooms was a plus so we could put our extra supplies in the second bedroom. Bathroom is small but functional.
Washer and Dryer was a great plus ( you could hear when to put the clothes in the dryer from the lanai)
Kitchen was well equipped to cook what you wanted to cook. The grocery store at the end of the road is just as good as the Safeway that is a farther drive. Outside of the Grocery store doesn't look promising but it is clean.
Extra positive- we had an issue at the beginning of our stay and the owner reached out to the neighbors who came over within 15 minutes and they went out of their way to resolve the problem.
Trade winds cool the condo off very quickly and the windows were easy to figure out to do this.
Communication with owner was prompt and courteous.
Negative- we got there at 4 and the cleaning person was still cleaning the condo. Not fault of owner but the cleaning person was very cordial and finished up quickly.
The amazing view lanai had indoor outdoor carpet that got wet very quickly when it rained, we had to wear sandals out there at times and had to take extra care not to get the rug in the livingroom wet. I would suggest a rubber mat or something for rug protection.

We had a nice stay in Maui in this unit. The whales were the highlight and we greatly appreciated the binoculars provided. The chairs, snorkel gear, towels, etc. made for a great beach day. The only downside was the a/c unit. It does an ok job of cooling the living room, but struggles to cool down the back bedrooms. The first day we got there the shades had not been drawn on the patio, so it was hard to cool that evening since it had gotten so hot that day. The neighboring children would run up and down the hallways in the mornings which was uncontrollable, but worth noting if you are a light sleeper. Thank you for the welcome treats of coffee, chocolate and a pineapple.

Great location on Maui! The home is equipped with everything you need from kitchen to beach. The view could not be better! We enjoyed the shady mornings and the beautiful sunsets on the lanai. We even saw whales and sea turtles. Laura was a great host reaching out when there was unusual weather to share information and remind us of the board games. We so enjoyed our anniversary celebration at Laura’s condo. The location is right on the sea. The ever present sound of the surf was awesome! Always a beautiful breeze and great view of Molokai. Fabulous location, as close as you can get to the water. Well-appointed kitchen made cooking a breeze. AC is a window unit in the main living space and doesn’t quite keep the bedrooms cool but there are multiple fans available for use. Closet full of snorkel gear, beach toys, grass mats and beach chairs. Pool/beach towels also provided. Complex was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay again.

As four retired educators seeking to share a travel adventure together, this property provided a wonderful “home base.” We loved watching the amazing sunsets from the lanai each evening and hearing and watching the ocean waves as they hit the sea wall below. The place was clean and comfortable. It was a perfect place to celebrate 120 years (collectively) of teaching!

This was our first vrbo experience and it was great. The condo has a beautiful view of the ocean and we saw turtles and dolphins out in the water. The condo was close to a collection of places to go supply shopping and a food truck park (that we ate dinner at a couple of times). It was off the beaten tourist path enough that I never felt like we where at a resort so it was a nice change of pace vs some of the other places we had looked at or had stayed at before. The host was responsive to questions and everything was setup correctly and the info sheet was correct.

The pictures do not do justice, it was BETTER than it looked. The home was larger than we thought it would be and was very comfortable. The beach is literally steps away as described, but I didn't expect much sandy beach. When the tide is low in the early morning and evening, there is a lovely stretch of sandy beach to sit in the chairs or take a stroll. The snorkeling was fantastic as described and lots of reef to explore with tropical fish and turtles. Worth every penny and next time we come we will book here.

The view from the balcony makes it all worthwhile! Besides the gorgeous view of the ocean, the unit is tastefully decorated and stocked with a good variety of beach toys. We saw turtles! They swam by us as we snorkeled in the ocean right in front of the unit!
Laura is very communicative and quickly answered all our questions. A convenience store, and several other shops are easily within walking distance as well as food trucks. Time flew by too quickly in our Hawaiian paradise!

Our family of four (including boys ages 9 and 7) loved our week-long stay! We very much enjoyed the waterfront location (including seeing several straggler whales from the balcony with the thoughtful set of provided binoculars) and its proximity to great beaches along that section of the Maui coastline. It's also across the street from some awesome fresh poke (The Fish Market) and not far at all from some other terrific restaurants in Lahaina. The communication with Laura was consistently quick and helpful and check-in and check-out were a breeze. Highly recommended, especially for families with younger kids!

We needed a 2 bedroom unit as we are hosting an exchange student, the price point was reasonable. All in all, it was a good unit, kitchen well stocked, boogie boards, beach chairs, and umbrella for beach days. If you're looking for a quiet getaway with a more private vibe, this is the place for you. The whale watching from the lanai was incredible, my first time seeing whales!!!

Our family loved the property and had a wonderful stay. It was clean, well-stocked, and exactly as described: right on the beach with an amazing 2nd floor view of the ocean and Molokai (we saw whales from the lanai almost every day).
Check-in was very easy and we found our parking spot without any trouble, even though we arrived after dark. We appreciated the special touches like chocolates and a fresh pineapple on the kitchen counter. Laura was extremely accommodating, working with us on a late departure when our flight was pushed back.
One thing to be aware of: the louvered windows are typical for Hawaiian homes and provide great ventilation to keep the place cool, but they don't completely seal out sounds when closed. Ocean waves can be loud if you're not used to them, and a couple times we overheard neighbors nearby having late-evening conversations after we went to bed.
Location is excellent with shops and restaurants within walking distance, and the main touristy and resort areas in Lahaina just a few minutes drive. A convenience store and full grocery store are both nearby. During our stay there was even a food truck court just a couple blocks away for fun outdoor meals in the evenings.
We would definitely recommend staying here if you're planning a trip to Maui. We loved it!

What is not to love? The condo is right on the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing is the best therapy in the world. There is more than enough space for 2-4. It is fully equipped (including strong wifi) and close to amazing beaches, hikes, and restaurants. My husband and I stayed two weeks in Laura's place during January. We can't wait to come back. Great condo, location, views, and host, would definitely stay again! Had everything we needed for cooking but most of the time ate out. Food trucks a short walk away were tasty and convenient. Beds were comfortable. As another reviewer mentioned, the bedrooms, particularly one, get a bit warm over the course of the day, but the ceiling and floor fans in the unit definitely helped cool off at night. Great for unit for families, kids were able to explore/snorkel directly out front of the condo which they did frequently while we enjoyed the views from the balcony above, did I mentioned the views are amazing! Getting to and accessing the condo was easy with great communication from Laura. Overall wouldn't ask for anything else, had a great time, and would definitely stay again.

In-unit laundry was also welcome. Of course, the best feature was the view and immediate access to the water. Spectacular sunsets!

First time to Hawaii and we found PARADISE! It would be hard to believe a better view exists anywhere on the island than off this lanai. You won’t believe it, I promise. If you like a more personal experience you will absolutely love the area. With an ABC next door you are set. I would suggest a car but it’s not necessary. Laura’s house was beautifully furnished with a nice inviting Hawaiian style. Literally had all of the amenities from snorkeling to bodyboarding even having extra aqua socks. Full kitchen and laundry make this unit extremely comfortable just like home. I can’t state enough how much we fell in love with Maui and its mahalo way of life. If Laura will have us, we hope to back very soon and maybe one day forever.

We had a great stay. Wonderful location, you can't beat the view. The place is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. There's a closet of beach supplies, which we used, beach towels, lots of kitchen supplies. There's an a/c unit in the main room and ceiling fans in every room. We didn't use the a/c at all, as we preferred the breezes and the sound of the ocean. You definitely get good cross breezes in the main room. Laura was a great host, responded to all questions quickly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Best part was having coffee in the morning on the lanai and cocktails in the evening on the lanai. Gorgeous sunsets every night. This doesn't have anything to do with the condo, but be prepared to plan your dinners in advance because the restaurants are overwhelmed. Can't get in anywhere without reservations (which we knew prior to traveling) but take out was also a challenge. Many of the restaurants were too overwhelmed to handle take out so it was very hit or miss. Most nights, we ended up at the food trucks down the street, or the fish market across the street because we were unable to get through to order take out from other restaurants. Best to order take out as early as possible! Thank you Laura for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful eight day stay at the condo. The beach views and the beach breezes are amazing. A great spot for a family where there’s easy snorkeling and swimming right off the property. Plenty of markets and restaurants nearby. So if you didn’t have a rental car there’s plenty of places to walk to. The kitchen was fully stocked and it was so convenient to have a washer and dryer inside the condo. The owner was very responsive to our texts during our stay. I would 100% book this co do again!

This vacation condo is fantastic! The condo is updated and very well taken care of. It is a second floor two bedroom oceanfront unit with incredible sunset views. It is neat to watch the sun set between the islands of Molokai and Lanai.
The condo is an end unit, so it is possible to open the front and side windows and get a nice cross breeze. The condo was fully stocked with extra towels, pool and beach toys, a cooler to take on the road to Hana, and all the cooking utensils we needed. We loved having a nice washer and dryer in the unit because it allowed us to pack light, and we loved the friendly atmosphere of the complex.
The unit itself is updated and well kept, and it was nice to be able to walk down to the beach and snorkel in full view of the condo. The pool is nice and never crowded, and was a nice break from the crowded Kaanapali resort pools 3 blocks away that we have previously stayed at.
We loved walking a block down to the wonderful food trucks with all sorts of different cuisine choices. We also loved having a dedicated parking space so close to the unit, making it easy to come and go.
The owner was nice and easy to communicate with. We will definitely stay here again!

We planned to stay near our friends who had a timeshare at the Westin…wow! Were we in for a treat; clean ocean front property, with unparalleled sunsets and views! We made sure to set a timer to return to the condo every evening to catch the amazing sunsets. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed, the beach closet is equipped w/ snorkels, beach chairs, boogie board and water shoes! Felt like we hit the jackpot with this booking! This will be our goto every time!

My family and I stayed here for a week in June (3 adults, 3 children ages 3, 6, 9) and it was fantastic. We spent the prior week on South Maui and this was the perfect place to spend our second week in West Maui. On very first glance, the property looked dated. But that was soon forgotten when we opened up all the windows, turned on the Hawaiian music on the Sonos speaker, and made ourselves at home. We were completely in love with the oceanfront location and view. The kids enjoyed early mornings on the beach at low tide looking for treasures and snorkeling in calm water. We could easily walk to the beach park just north of Maui Sands. Great take-out options (and the token ABC store- actually they had shockingly good food!) within just a few blocks to walk to. We enjoyed more than our fair share of Mac salad! A closet full of all the beach gear we needed for the kids (chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, mats, fins) was convenient and appreciated. Amazing beaches located within just a few minutes drive. We used the grill at the pool area for several dinners. The grounds are lush and immaculate. Yes, the complex is dated (as many on the island are) but it seems many unit (this one included) have been comfortably and stylishly updated. The complex was really quiet- no huge loud resort vibes here! Crossed paths with a few families and residents and everyone was kind. Laura was very responsive and helpful for the few questions that came up while we were there. We were worried about having 6 inside the 2br/1ba but it was totally fine- we spent a lot of time on the large oceanfront patio when inside the unit. We will absolutely book here again. You’ll love it!

My daughter was doing remote school and we had some remote work and some time to play/rest. The condos themselves are dated a bit, but nothing matters once you are on the lanai and hear the waves crashing right below. Amazing spot and comfortable, a nice retreat!

We have come back to 4E over and over again. Yes, it really is that close to the ocean. The condo is nicely furnished and well kept. Laura is a great host and always attentive.. The Maui Sands property is beautiful, and 4E is away from the road so all you have are the sounds of the surf and birds. There is great local food within walking distance. Okyazuya Deli, Maui Fish Market and the Maui Farmer's Market. Enjoy

What a great home away from home this is! A great place to stay with kids, clean, well decorated, very comfortable, very well stocked, and great location. The whole process was very smooth, the owner sent all the details of how to park, where things were located and explained the process of check in and check out very well. Overall it was an awesome place and a great experience!! We saw a turtle the day we got there from the Lana’i and were able to watch whales as well throughout the day, so neat to see with just your naked eye! We saw sea turtles and tons of whales from the lanai. Snorkeled the reefs out front with included snorkel gear. Enjoyed nearby beaches with chairs, beach umbrellas, towels, and even coolers stored in the front closet. This is an older, very clean condo. The bedrooms are small but the living area is large and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The air conditioning worked surprisingly well at night to cool the entire unit. Property manager responded to questions quickly. Even included basic necessities such as toilet paper, paper towel, garbage bags, dishwasher and laundry detergent. We plan to stay here again in the future.

While the sound of the waves was my favorite part, the view off the back deck was nothing short of magnificent.
We saw literally, hundreds of whales each day, with turtles making appearances almost every morning.
The location was great, getting into Lahinia was a very short, easy drive. There are also great restaurants and a coffee shop directly across the street , with a Bueatiful public beach maybe 1/8 of a mile to the north.
We loved it and would highly recommend this condo.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this condo. It has an unbeatable views of the ocean, sunsets, and Molokai. We spent the mornings having breakfast on the patio and watching the whales breaching. The condo included the necessary cooking supplies and, to my surprise, also had a closet full of beach supplies (boogie board, beach toys, beach towels). The pool at the condo complex could be improved upon, however it was very convenient to have access to the propane grills in the pool area. The parking spot was sufficient for our rental Jeep. It was about a 45 min drive from the airport, but the location was great in terms of distance to local beaches. There were also shops and restaurants within walking distance, however if you are looking for a nicer, high end restaurant, I would recommend driving. Overall, it was a great place to call home while we were in Maui.

Quiet neighborhood. Parking lot very small but was ok, no issues. Had all the necessities for going to the beach!!
My only suggestion is for the cleaning people to do a better and more thorough job for the owner.
