After the heartbreaking fires in West Maui we weren’t sure we should come. We didn’t want to disrespect those who lost everything including their lives. However, after speaking with several people and doing a little more research I was confident that going would be the right thing to do, so we would be able to contribute to the local economy.
Having that said, our stay was fantastic. The property was very clean, neat & well kept and the people were even better. The room was just right for the two of us. The beach is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever had the chance to enjoy. If you choose to stay here you will not be disappointed, just read everything so you know what to expect.
Communication with our hosts was easy and informative and we’d like to thank them for their hospitality.

Great room at the Maui Kaanapali Villas. At the back corner of the tower but had an ocean view from the patio with a coule chairs and small table out there. Perfect for our bonus 3 night stay on Maui. Location was really nice. Beautifull sunset beach walks right in front of the resort. Able to enjoy beach and short walk to Black Rock for some fabulous snorkeling. The free trolley picks up at from of hotel to get anywhere along Kaanapali.

Jennifer was excellent to work with and contacted me very quickly when her cleaning crew didn't finish cleaning the condo. Within minutes, a lady arrived and finished the job. Other than that, we had a fabulous stay. We love snorkeling at Kaanapali beach, and this condo was priced right for our needs. The resort is beautiful and has one of the best locations on Maui!

Small but just the right size for one or two people who are out alot. Microwave and minifridge in closet for beverages and snacks. Great for early morning walking on beachwalk and all you can drink coffee by lobby from 6am-9am.

The property is wonderful. Has a large main pool and bar/restaurant right next to the pool and sits on a nice part of Kaanapali beach.
The room is fine for the money. It is located at the back of the property next to the main highway and at night you can hear the traffic. Since I am sensitive to noise at night, a short stay was good. But overall, the room was clean and adequate and I enjoyed my stay.

The grounds are beautiful and staff is friendly. It's great having a restaurant so close and the location couldn't be better. The room needs a few upgrades, bathroom (bathtub), the sliding door (fix the lock) and considering the room has a microwave and fridge it would be great to have a couple of plates, silverware etc. There is soap to wash stuff but no items to use. The bed is comfortable, no extra bedding at all. It's loud so a sound machine helps. If you want a nice patio with a view rent the other unit. We didn't spend much time in the room so overall it was perfect for our trip and I would recommend it.

I am not in the habit of writing poor reviews however I rated the property as such to bring more attention to an undesirable feature. Please note that the price listed when booking on the VRBO webpage is not the final price you will have to pay.
Included in the rental agreement is a daily "resort fee" that all guests must pay. I've been told there was a link to download a PDF to the rental agreement prior to booking. If that was the case when I booked, I'll certainly take some responsibility for not reading all the fine print. However, considering that there are multiple fees contributed to the quoted priced, I would have assumed that the "resort fee" was already baked into the quote. In other my vacation home rental experiences, I've never been asked to pay more than the quoted price and I found it frustrating that this fee isn't transparently shown on the booking page and instead hidden in a separate document. I called VRBO and they say they encourage the property owners to list all fees in the quoted price so it's unclear why it wasn't done here. I suspect it's hidden outside the quote so that the property can differentiate themselves from other units on VRBO when searching by price. So please read the fine print and be prepared to pay more than what is listed on the booking page.
As far as the property goes, the grounds were very nice and provided an enjoyable walk to the beach. The unit itself is much closer to the highway than the beach. The bed is large and comfortable. The sliding door lock needs to be replaced as the latch is faulty but the property felt safe. The hosts were responsive.

I gave five stars in all areas, and I truly mean it. It was such a simple process to book, it was very clean and exactly as described, and the location couldn't be better. Kaanapali Beach is one of the best one's on Maui, and you can't beat having a hotel right there. What I loved about booking this condo through VRBO, is that it's individually owned (Thank you Jennifer!) so it feels as though you have a bit more privacy than a normal resort, even though you're staying at a smaller and very quaint resort, where you still have access to all the amenities, like the Castaway Cafe where you can enjoy dinner and watch the sunset 15 feet from the sand. This stay was absolutely perfect for me and my hubby. We had a wonderful time!

I'll start with the fact that we really enjoyed our stay overall. There was a mishap during check-in. However, the hosts were easily reachable and available immediately. They took quick action to help us out and accommodate us during our late check-in. If anything, their responsiveness built even more trust and desire to stay at places managed by such great people in the future. Thank you. In regards to MKV overall - this was one of the best locations I've ever stayed at on Maui. You simply cannot beat it. The amenities were great and everyone surrounding us was very friendly, from staff to visitors. Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I went for our honeymoon and it was amazing! The room was reasonably priced and With all the hotel amenities. The walk to the beach was literally only a few steps and there is a ocean front restaurant that has live music and beautifully manicured landscape. It was so great having a coffee maker and fridge in the room and cooler, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella for our usage! The bed was also very comfortable and we went to several of the restaurants Jennifer and Richard recommended which was really helpful. I will definitely be telling people to book here and am planning to come back!

I really enjoyed staying at this low-key property with its beautiful beach. It was super easy to walk on the boardwalk to the Times grocery store and get cold breakfast items to store in the fridge.This room worked well for me since my relatives were staying in a full condo a floor down and I could borrow cups and bowls from them. I didn't need a kitchen since I wasn't here to cook. I was here to swim, and snorkel, and I loved getting up every morning and jumping in the ocean. Thanks for a nice, very clean room.

The property was perfect. The room was small and no kitchen. Just a fridge in the closet. If the fridge would have been full size it would be 5 stars. But the room did have everything we needed which wasn’t much. A/C, king size bed, tv, shower. We didn’t spend a lot of time in there. The resort is nice with a great restaurant and very nice people.

We had a great time at this place. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. We appreciated the boogie boards and chairs in the closet. The property's pool and hot tub were nice as well and never very crowded. The beach was a couple minute walk from the door of the unit, which was very convenient. I like my room a bit chilly and the AC worked amazingly well, keeping the room very cool. There were no sound issues like previous reviewers had mentioned. Our key cards were deactivated twice, which was a bit frustrating, but this was due to the front desk worker programming them incorrectly. They were quickly fixed both times and the workers were all very friendly.

Everything was very nice with the exception of the room key situation when I first arrived the key would not work to the main hallway to get into my room I went to the 3 different times to get someone to help me with that. I was finally able to just leave the main hallway door open so I could get to my room. Then the night before I left came up to my room and the keys would not work in the door to get into my room so I was back again to get a new key. My key would also not work at the bathroom at the Castaway Cafe... it's not that I don't need the exercise going back and forth I do it was just a little bit disappointing and I was a little bit hurried trying to get settled in my room and prepare for my son's wedding

Loved the resort and all the amenities but the room was not as nice as the picture showed. The bed and pillows are very old, the sheets had a rip in them. The curtains were not the right size for the windows therefore you could never block out the sun completely. No vacuum or broom to clean the sand, also no way to clean the toilet, bathroom sink or shower as no cleaning supplies are available. Enjoyed the stay but would never rent this room again until it has a total remodel. Fine for an overnight but not an 11 day stay, guess that was our mistake.

Unit is a little dated but great location. The hotel offered everything to us staying in a vrbo as they do their own guests except maid service. Beach chairs, boogie boards, small ice chest,, snorkeling equipment, children's beach/pool toys and playpen provided.
