Mark’s condo was a home away from home for my family. It’s in a quiet, relaxing location with an incredible view. We were sad to leave! Mark is an excellent communicator that has put a lot of effort into his home that truly makes you feel welcome. We loved the comfortable beds and couch, and enjoyed cooking in a perfectly stocked kitchen. Hope to be back there soon!

We loved it here! We were in Maui for a very specific purpose and brought my mother to join us. We wanted a place where she could fix something to eat or just relax if we went out. This "home" was perfect for that!
What we learned, though, was the entire area is absolutely sweet, from the small businesses to the semi-private beach. Although the beach is small, it was perfect! There is a wonderful Honu (green sea turtle) sanctuary just to the side of Hoyochi Nikko, and it was an irresistible place to sit with our friends and swim in the ocean nearby. We actually got to "swim" with the turtles when they glided through the water. We loved everything about the beach and the area where you can sun yourself on top of the sea wall!
The actual unit was wonderful and very comfortable and felt like a home! The view of the beautiful Pacific Ocean woke us up every morning, and at night, the breeze was so comfortable, we kept the window open and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean and tropical breeze! Nevertheless, when it was hot, we were able to turn on the air conditioner the few times it was needed.
The location is the best and is walking distance to some wonderful local businesses and places like the ABC Store where you can pick up almost anything. Hoyochi Nikko is between Ka'anapali and Napili and Kapalua, so it's conveniently located between two resort areas without being in a commercial area that loses the charm and ambiance of Maui and Hawaii. The place is beautiful with a fabulous setting and is very well equipped with everything guests will need. Unfortunately, we visited during the Lahaina fire and had to evacuate early with the other tourists. Mark was very communicative during this stressful time and generously refunded our cost for the abbreviated stay. We could not ask for more from a host and will be back again! Thanks Mark! Our best thoughts are also with the whole Maui community.

This was our first time staying here though we have been to maui many times. We loved the location of this unit and the loft came in handy for our family of 4. Mark was a great communicator and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was ok. It’s great that they have a property manager on site if anything needs to be addressed. The only downside would be that there is no guest parking and the unit parking is pretty tight. Thank you mark for an awesome stay!

The condo was amazing! Everything is well stocked and clean. Lots of towels, dish soap, detergent, and other supplies. A/C and fans kept the place nice and cool. It was great having the washer/dryer. There is awesome snorkeling right in front of the condo, with turtles that come to eat the algae everyday. We had an awesome time and were sad to go home.

As always, we enjoyed Maui. We were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary. Our condo was perfect, the whales, snorkeling and turtles didn't disappoint either.
I highly recommend this condo at Hoyochi Nikko. Very well furnished and has A/C! The views are incredible right from the lanai. Look forward to my stay in October!

This is a small very private property right on the ocean. It is well equipped with supplies and clean. The view is absolutely wonderful. We spent most of our time on the lanai watching whales and turtles. At sunset, a gentleman at the adjoining complex played the bagpipes! Magical!

The condo is part of a small community that has an incredible location. The beach is right outside, along with a very nice pool and plenty of lounge chairs. Because of nature if the beach (rockets to the left and right, but plenty of sand directly out front), it created a very private feeling beach.
The sunsets were beautiful and listening to the waves crash every night was incredible. We didn't hear any noise from neighbors and with the a/c, we were always comfortable when we needed to cool down for a nap after spending all day outside at the beach and pool.
Plenty of shops, restaurants and amenities within a short drive.
We rented a full sized sedan (Dodge Charger), and while I had no issues parking, someone who is not as comfortable parking vehicles in a tight spot might get nervous. If you're intent on renting an SUV, ensure the dimensions will work.
All said and done, we couldn't have asked for a better vrbo for our trip!

This was the second time we’ve stayed in this condo, and could not be more pleased. I’ve spent hours creating vrbo boards, lol, so let me save you some work! This condo has amazing views, and a huge lanai. We had such a relaxing time drinking our coffee in the morning, and enjoying sunsets in the evening. The condo itself has two king beds that are extremely comfortable, as well as air conditioning and ceiling fans. We have never been uncomfortable in this condo. Many Hawaiian rentals will advertise that they have air conditioning, when what they have is a tiny window air conditioner in one room. It also has a washer and dryer, which is great when you are constantly getting towels wet. It is also awesome that there are chairs set up outside, so all you have to do is grab a towel, and you can go swimming multiple times per day. There are so many sea turtles in this area, we saw them everyday. There were times when one would swim between us. You could easily have the most wonderful vacation ever, and not even leave the complex. I also love that they have a guide, and several guest books, which were fun and useful to look through. On our last day, we took a ferry to the island of lanai, which was very affordable. We arranged for a taxi, you have to do this in advance, btw, and visited the Lanai cat sanctuary. It was one of our favorite days ever in Hawaii. Beautiful ferry ride, and island. Anyway, we miss Maui already. Perfect vacation! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful spot with us.

We only stayed a few days while we waited for our other condo to be available, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The condo is right on the ocean with a magnificent view that was wonderful to watch sunrise and sunset. It's close to stores and restaurants, but far from the crowds. I would highly recommend and hope to stay here again in the future!

We always love staying in this part of Maui, being close to Lahaina and Kaanapali activities and food but in a little more traditional neighborhood. The history of this apartment is so cool and we love the view, proximity to the beach. How well stocked the unit is and the view! Yes, the view is amazing. The building is older but the grounds are immaculately kept by on site management and the unit is updated and fresh/clean feeling. There are a number of games as well as water gear acquaint for use and even a tiny lending library in the lobby! The laundry machine in unit is clutch and the communication with rental info is fantastic. My only small suggestion is to check fan and remote batteries or have a box of spare batteries on hand!

We had a great stay here. View from the balcony is spectacular - just as pictured. We also enjoyed the pool and beach out front - both are small but so easy to just walk downstairs for an hour or two. Our kids loved watching sea turtles swim by on several occasions - can’t beat that!!
The condo itself is extremely well stocked and organized, down to little details like power strips every place you might need a charger.
The only downsides for us: beds were a little too old/broken down for us so caused some back issues for my husband, condo hadn’t been deep cleaned for awhile so places like under/behind furniture were very dusty, boogie boards available were all kid-sized but there are several places nearby where you can rent them.
Only other factor was that this part of Maui is very crowded and built up now. We saw this as both a pro and a con for location. This means there are more restaurants, shops, tour companies, etc but also more crowded beaches and tourist traffic. We spent a few days visiting other parts of the island and had to deal with traffic delays.

I don't even know where to start. This place is just incredible! It's just steps away from the beach. The view from the lanai is gorgeous. The condo is super clean and well stocked with cooking essentials. We could have easily spent our entire vacation on the condo property and been perfectly happy! This is my favorite place we have ever stayed and hope to return in the future!

Just remember to rent a car with a low-ceiling in order to fit under the building or you’ll find your self searching for street parking….which isn’t terrible as we were able to find accommodations not to far away.

My family could not be happier with our stay at Mark's Hoyochi Nikko home. From the initial communication to check-out, the stay was seamless. This location is fantastic with gorgeous sunset views every evening, steps to the ocean, comfortable beds and cold A/C! My family of four with two teens stayed here in April. This unit is in a quieter complex in which about half of the units appear to be set up more for couples than for families. It makes for an intimate community that is respectful and friendly, but also one that expects a quieter and less rambunctious atmosphere than you might find at a large complex or resort; and quiet hours are strictly observed. Remember that if you rent a car, the designated parking space will accommodate nothing taller than a compact SUV (5'7"), so don't rent a Jeep. There are no other convenient places to park or guest spaces, so you will need to use the designated garage spot. We had a Nissan Kicks and it fit great.
The unit was spotless and had everything you could need. Whether you want to cook full family dinners in the kitchen, hit the beach with a cooler and skim boards, or forgot your shampoo, this place has you covered. Pull open the massive sliding doors between the balcony and the sitting area for the sound of the ocean anytime or close them when you need to cool off. We appreciate this offering so much and can't wait to stay again at Mark's home on Maui.

We enjoyed our stay…so easy to look out at the ocean everyday without even leaving the location. The ocean was great for swimming and snorkeling while we were there. Saw turtles, monk seals, and whales too! The grounds are well-kept, and the pool is great. The kitchen is perfectly organized, and the beds are comfy. We felt right at home, and it was so nice not to have to drive to a beach but have the perfect one right out the back of the condo. Mark was very responsive to any questions we had! We thoroughly enjoyed this trip with our whole family of 9. We rented 3 condos at Hoyochi Nikko. We spent about half of our time relaxing and enjoying the condos outside space, pool, and ocean. The other half we spent seeing some sights and doing some excursions. The condo location is ideal with close trips to Lahaina and the Kapalua areas. We enjoyed the whale and turtle sightings right from our condos. The residents of Hoyochi Nikko were friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy the antics of our grandchildren. The resident maintenance/manager does a great job! We didn't eat a lot of meals at the condo, but it was supplied well with pots, pans, dishes, etc. There were numerous eating establishments nearby that were wonderful! This was our 3rd trip to Maui and 2nd staying at Hoyochi Nikko. My advice would be to plan, rent early (2-3 yrs), and get your tickets for tours and excursions before coming, as we were too late for some of the things we wanted to do. We were unable to get into our timeshare resort for 3 nights during a 2 week stay. This condo was only available for those 3 nights all season! It was meant to be. This was booked a year ahead for the High Winter season.
My husband and I were looking forward to staying here, possibly the most amazing rental we've stayed at. Upon entry, you can't help but get attracted to the Lanai - the whales were calling! We spent each morning on the Lanai having our breakfast. EVERYTHING you may need is HERE! The kitchen is well-stocked with basics, pots and pans, utensils, everything! Feels like home!
The beds were comfortable; we couldn't decide which room we liked better so we slept in both! One you can hear the waves, one you can get to the bathroom easier! The ROKU was set up easily so it would log off your subscription at noon of the day you check out so no need to bring your firestick or ROKU. Wifi is good. Shower is awesome. A photo in the bathroom prompted us to shop for the same print at Lahaina Front Street!
We used the grill once and got to meet the neighbors. On one of the days, a Scotsman played his bagpipe at sunset from the condo located north of Hirochi Nikko. We did not snorkel nor swim in the waters on the beach as the current was quite strong with waves hitting the wall.
Staying here reminded us that it was money well-spent for a perfect away-from-home home. I also had to contact the resident manager on two occasions. He was very helpful and the place felt secured.
Parking is a little tricky for the 203 spot, but a couple of manuevers can easily get you out of the parking spot. I did see a Nissan Rogue and Honda HRV parked under, but I advise the smaller the renter car, the better for parking down there.
Communications with Mark was awesome. He was attentive and respond promptly. An asset to VRBO! I will always check if this condo is available when I visit Maui but it's really hard to reserve as it's so perfect and popular. Thanks, Mark for everything!

Loved our stay here. Morning coffee while staring at the ocean and a 3 hour rainbow show was incredible. It is so peaceful. We stayed in the loft with the sliders open so the ocean lulled us to sleep and greeted us in the morning. It was nice to have quiet hours and very few people around (who were all very kind) as well. Easy drive into Lahaina or up the coast a little bit to Kapalua. Hope to go back!

The Owner was available to answer any questions we had before our trip. My husband and myself really enjoyed the location and cleanliness of this condo. The unit was fully stocked with towels and kitchenware. Snorkeling and other beach/pool items were readily available. The Condo manager was out every morning and throughout the day making sure the chairs, grounds, and pool were in pristine order. We saw whales jumping between Maui and Malaki. The turtles were swimming and resting directly in front our beach area. We saw breathtaking sunsets, glorious rainbows, and enjoyed many mornings sitting on the lanai. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We absolutely enjoyed our stay.

Straight in ocean front view( not from an angle). Probably 30 steps from the ocean (but much better view because you are on 2nd floor)
Sunsets and the post sunset were amazingly beautiful.
Beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen was stocked with all necessities and then some. We grilled out on the gas grills by the pool with steaks and shrimp from grocery store u can walk to 1 mike away.
Restaurants, stores, park, and coffee shop and much more- nice half mile walk(lots of people walking and running in morning)

Mark and Julie, I can’t thank you enough for an amazing first experience visiting Maui. It was clear from the reviews that this is a special property, and I don’t disagree. I was supposed to travel with my husband and kids for a family wedding but delta variant and school pressures made this too difficult. The condo was clean, comfortable, with updated kitchen and bath, amazing views, bed was super comfortable and I slept like a baby listening to the waves outside…which was much needed after 1.5 years of covid parenting! Your travel guide was perfect and your overall hospitality shined through in all the details and your good communication surrounding my trip. The office manager was lovely and helpful, as well, as I was on my own. And I enjoyed the privacy of the small beach while meeting other guests. I would highly recommend for a family, a couple, and especially for a much needed self-care momma-cation! Thank you much. Hope to be back with my family sooner than later. Mahalo!!

I’m always a bit reticent about leaving a review of absolutely incredible property out of fear that it will book out to eternity … alas this condo rental just so happens to be one of those properties. Ive been blessed to visit Hawaii five times (four on Maui) over a few years with stays at the Hyatt Regency, Westin Ocean Resort Villas (North & South), and the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island. All spectacular resorts, but they don’t begin to hold a candle to #203 Hoyochi Nikko! If you’re looking for a well appointed condo, with incredible views, on what’s virtually your own private beach that’s close to everything you’ve found the perfect place. Coolers for a Road Trip to Hana, Boogie boards and floaters to play in the surf, a local owners guide book that gives Frommer’s a run for the money, and beach chairs to read a book under a shade tree on your own beach are just a few of the extras that make this place special. If you’re looking for a home away from home in a tropical paradise - you’ve arrived!

This was by far one of the best VRBO places we have stayed. I wanted to give it a bad review just so no one else can find out about it and we can keep it our own little secret, but that would be a huge lie. We will be staying here again and Mark was a great host and made everything very comfortable and simple for us. I highly recommend that anyone who wants to visit Maui make this their place to stay.

This condo complex and unit is truly a gem on Maui. We never want to stay anywhere else! From the oceanside pool, to the sweeping views of Lanai and Molokai, to the front row seat of the "turtle highway" right from the lanai, to the great snorkeling on the nearby rocky point, this unit is our home away from home. We spent 9 full days here, and we ended up having six "condo days." There is really no need to go anywhere! Mark is accommodating and so quick to communicate with answers to all of our questions. The unit is well stocked with all the amenities of home. I was happy to see several families staying at the complex during this visit. Our kids had a great time meeting new friends. I can't recommend this condo complex and unit enough!

Couldn't ask for more. It was perfect for our family of 4 (husband + 2 boys - 16 & 12). I always start my day in the lanai drinking coffee. The view is PERFECT! I enjoy the sound of the waves, watching surfers, people snorkeling. We buy take out for dinner and eat in the lanai and enjoy the sunset.
We had the pleasure of meeting Mark, the owner. Even before our trip, I appreciate how responsive he was with my questions. I really appreciate the pdf file he sent which lists where to eat, where to go , beaches, etc. It made the preparation easy for me :)

Our family has stayed at different condos across the islands and this was by far the best accommodations. From the moment we arrived, the condo was cleaned well and there wasn’t one grain of sand on the floors which is amazing, because there is sand everywhere outside. The unit was well stocked with ziplock bags, salt/pepper, spices, containers, and the sharpest knives which I much appreciated when I cut into the delicious Hawaiian papayas and Maui Gold pineapples. The owners are so thoughtful allowing others to rent their condo. You can tell their pride and love for this place. The view is amazing and can’t get much better than this. We had breakfast every morning on the lanai and sat for most sunsets as well. The sunsets were beautiful with the magnificent view of Molokai’i. We saw turtles and dolphins right from the lanai too. We came in June and it was warm so we definitely used the AC. It is rare to find a unit with AC and our whole family savored the cool air after many hours at the warm beach. The unit is so close to the wonderful beaches such as Honolua Bay, Napili, and Slaugherhouse. We loved this unit and highly recommend it!

Like many previous reviews have stated, this property was absolutely perfect. As someone who used to manage a vacation rental, I can state with absolute certainty that the owners have literally thought of everything and go above and beyond to make your stay at their home incredibly comfortable.
Things I especially appreciated: The detailed/laminated welcome book, framed instructions/placards throughout the home that helped us operate the appliances and electronics in the home, the conveniently placed surged protectors near both beds and couches that had USB plugs so we could easily charge our devices, the upstairs AND downstairs A/C which was very quiet and easy to operate (this is one of the few units in the complex that has both an upstairs and downstairs AC unit), laundry detergent and dryer sheets were supplied for the full sized front loading washer and dryer (which is a must for me because we were travelling with our two kids), complimentary Maui coffee and coffee filters placed conveniently by the coffee maker, the INSANELY comfortable beds (I have incredibly high standards when it comes to beds when I travel. So much so that I pretty much expect to not sleep well no matter where I go. These beds were the FIRST beds that I felt were more comfortable than my own bed! Seriously I am not kidding. It felt like I was sleeping on a cloud), super soft bath towels, well stocked kitchen, and SO MUCH MORE. Our kids loved sharing the big Cal King bed upstairs in the loft and slept great. Usually when I rent a place the owners have queen sized beds and I was super excited to see this property had cal king beds in both bedrooms! The owners even supply binoculars (for when the whales are around I am assuming) and fun puzzles and games for families. Not to mention, the property was very clean when we arrived. I could go on an on about everything we loved!!
The few questions I had were quickly answered by the Resident Manager Allen who was super nice and friendly. We loved having coffee and wine on the lanai, taking in the beautiful sunsets, and seeing turtles right out front on the sand. The complex is on the smaller side which is wonderful because the pool was never crowded and the surrounding area was so quiet. Our kids LOVED having use of the pool when they weren't in the ocean. The grounds are immaculate and well maintained.
If you are debating whether or not to book this place, DO IT. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Mark & Julie!!

Seeing whales and turtles every day was soo great. We hardly wanted to leave the condo as they kids loved the big grassy area and giant sand pit. Very cool all the loaner sand toys for the kids. Nice kitchen, well stocked. This was our 1st of two stops in Maui and honestly made the next place look lame by comparision. :-)

203 Hoyochi Nikko is a great property to stay at. Beautiful view, nice amenities and great location to many things Maui! We spent a week here and were sad to leave! The owner is great and he and his wife should get accolades for sharing their beautiful Maui home with others. Treat this beautiful gem with care and respect so that we can continue to enjoy for future stays. 🙂

The condo was very nice and had a fantastic ocean view from the balcony. Bed were comfortable and kitchen had everything you need. The owner of the condo was great to work with considering the issue with getting into Hawaii. Best thing I can say, I would definitely would go rent this condo again.

THIS PLACE WON'T DISAPPOINT! IT'S THE PERFECT MAUI HOME FOR YOUR VISIT! WE LOVED IT SO MUCH! Read our note to the owner to see why. Mark, your Maui home was extremely comfortable and had everything we could have expected in our own home! My new husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon at your perfect paradise. We particularly appreciated the QUIET AC units (2 of them- we slept like babies), the fans in every room (ceiling and portable fans), the comfort of both of the beds (honestly the most comfortable beds we've EVER slept on), the IMPECCABLE ocean view only feet away from the unit, the property grounds and private sandy beach with turtles EVERYWHERE, all the spices and oil provided for cooking, the multiple differently sized ice chests, non-stick cookware, super sharp knives, deck of cards, board games, umbrella, full-sized washer and dryer with laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets included, the aluminum foil, plastic wrap, multiple sized zip-lock bags, blender, beautiful local Maui art on the walls and ALL the decor, ice maker in the freezer, full-size refrigerator and the beautifully updated shower and bathroom. We enjoyed every morning drinking Maui Grown Coffee on your comfortable lanai watching the waves crash and multiple whales breaching and tail slapping so close to the shore. We were happy to be here during whale season (January - March). We also always saw turtles swimming by and sunbathing on the sand right in front of us at your spot. We enjoyed watching movies on the flat screen in the living room and bedroom at night. It was the perfect extension to our honeymoon and we appreciate you allowing us to stay at your beautiful place! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay in Maui. It is by far our favorite spot we've ever stayed in Maui (which is about 10 different spots- resorts/condos/VRBO's). The grass area was super comfortable with plenty of loungers and the BBQ area was clean and well-equipped. We loved BBQing ribs and drinking a few beers while watching the whales during the sunset. The grounds were very well kept and clean and all the flowers and plants were well-trimmed and taken care of. We loved talking to the property manager Allen. He was always so friendly, welcoming, helpful and always had a smile on his face. That meant a lot to us and showed how much he loves this location. We very much look forward to staying here again in the future and hope it will be sooner than later. All our Aloha.

We loved the beautiful view from the balcony. We spent our mornings & evenings there watching the turtles & whales. The bathroom is updated and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you’ll need. We’d definitely stay here again!

We have stayed at this property several times. It is now the only place we want to stay on Maui. It is older, but beautifully maintained, well stocked with necessities, and has the most fantastic view. We could just sit on the lanai, and watch the whales and turtles! Delightful!

Awesome view! Love the wide sliding glass doors which makes the view part of the condo. Top of the line and affordable. Beautifully decorated with new appliances and totally turnkey. Stocked with condiments and spices, so you don't even have to think about anything but having a good time. I've stayed in a few different units in this complex and Unit 203 is by far my favorite. The owners really show their genuine hospitality!
