We loved our stay here. The view out the patio to the ocean is just beautiful. We loved opening up the door and watching and listening to the waves come in. We were there during whale season, and could lounge on the lanai with some binoculars and watch the wales breaching in the waters. Sea turtles were also swimming around the rocks below. Just an amazing spot!
The neighborhood was great as well. We found Bad Ass Coffee just down the street, which had amazing coffee. There's also Miso Phat Sushi up the street, which had amazing sushi. Both within walking distance. It was also a quick drive to Whaler's Village and Kaanapali Beach. Just a great central location.

Incredible location and a comfy place to relax after a dry, sunny day :) which is every day in Maui, apparently.
Most areas of the beach were relatively easy to get down to--one of those storms probably took away some of the sand before our visit, but we didn't mind climbing down a few larger rocks to get to the sandy part.
If you're like me and want to spend as much time as possible on some sort of beach, there are several other access points a 5-10 minute walk north or south that are just as beautiful, and usually don't have that many other people around. The south one also has a bunch of stores and a farmer's market across the street.
On our last day I went to the north beach and a group of sea turtles were feeding so close to the shore that they kept bumping into me with the tide. So, if that's the kind of vacation you're looking for...
The condo itself was clean and well-maintained--possibly a bit on the older side?, but all the appliances worked, and Neil was really helpful and responsive the whole time. The snorkeling equipment was a nice bonus. A/C is only located in the bedroom, but it was definitely cold enough for us.
And why would you want to be inside when you're in Maui anyway?!
(Long story short: 100% recommended unless you hate sunshine and palm trees)

I was pleasantly surprised that the location and views were much better than expected. I didn't realize there is a small private beach steps from the unit. The pool was stunning with perfect tiny blue tiles and stunning landscaping around the complex.

The description of this property for the picturesque views of Moloka’i, Lanai, whales, sea turtles and spectacular sunsets sitting right from the lanai were spot on. What a great place. We would recommend a visit. The resort itself was very clean and friendly. We did do a lot of cooking since we stayed for three weeks. If I would have a negative to state (since nothing is ever perfect) it would be not a large variety of kitchen items for preparing, cooking and storing food but we really were able to make do. Would that stop us from visiting and booking again…absolutely not. Neil the owner was super accommodating, gave great suggestions on places to visit, and other info as well. Thank you Neil for sharing this treasured getaway.

The location was great. The view from the lanai was beautiful! Price was good. It was oceanfront. But there are a lot of things that did not meet up with the description. In the description it says that it was beachfront there is only a steep hill/wall and black rock in front of the condo/property. There is a beach down the way in front of a different building.. Not sure how we were to get there. There was fence between the properties. It also states the condo has A/C. It does but only in the bedroom and did not work very well. It was dripping water by the power strip it was plugged into along with 2 other things. It was also very noisy. There are ceiling fans in both rooms. The living room fan made terrible noises so turned down the speed to low to make the noise stop. Had to use 2 other fans they had to keep it comfortable. There was no hot water, it took about 15 min to get it to lukewarm in the shower(that is a lot of wasted water) so basically took cold showers. Had to heat water in the microwave to do dishes. The front screen door had duck tape on it so it would not latch because if it did there is no handle on the inside to get out. The screen door on the patio door did not lock so you could leave the sliding glass door open at night so the cool breeze could blow in. The paint on the kitchen cabinets is peeling off. Also the TV did not work. It also says it has a washer and dryer making you think it is in the condo, it does not. There is a laundry room in the building some where. You should also note that you have to go downstairs to get into the condo.
We did try to contact the owner by email about the TV he got back to us the day before we were to leave. He told us we should of called his friends number because he was out of the county and his phone did not work there. I just prefer email. I guess I should of tried texting.
We were only there 3 nights so all the other things could not of been fixed in that short of time.
This place has a lot potential. I would not stay here again.
This is the first vrbo we have ever rented. If I do it again I will do more research of the property. The picture you see is taken from the property next door I think.

My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights in October. The location is amazing. RIGHT on the water. It was actually pretty hot while we were in Maui. Most days it was 88 and not a lot of breezes. That being said, there is only a small A/C unit in the bedroom so the condo stayed pretty warm even with us opening everything up at night and closing it up during the day. The coolest we got the condo was 78. The island in the kitchen is really low, so if you're tall it is awkward to sit at. The only table and chairs are outside on the lanai which was fine but if it's raining you might want to eat inside so a small bistro table inside would be nice. Two days into our stay we decided to run a load of dishes in the dishwasher. We were sitting outside(good thing we were there) and the whole kitchen had flooded. It took all of our towels and our beach towels to clean it up. I reached out to the owner and he informed me that it had been broken for a couple of months and he thought the housekeeper had put up a sign. He told me he had the new dishwasher he was just waiting for a few vacant days. I told him we are VRBO owners ourselves and get it so please tell your handyman he can come anytime during our stay. I asked him if he had a dish drying rack and he said that he did not. I guess I just thought if it had been broken for a few months he would have changed the listing stating that he had a dishwasher and he would have purchased a dish drying rack. He had his housekeeper bring all new towels but never heard back about the handyman coming to install the new dishwasher. We have had to fix things on our VRBO while guests are at our house and people have always been fine with it. So, was it the end of the world, no. Do I like to wash all dishes by hand on vacation, no. You will love the location for the sunsets!

This place has SO much potential. Amazing location, right on the water, beautiful sunsets and even the layout of the place works great for couples. With just a small investment in time and money, they could charge double.
Pros:
- The price really was amazing for a condo right on the water
- The location was perfect, not only do you have a direct view of the water and the sunset it's also a 10-minute walk (if you want) to many stores and shops in an area that isn't bombarded with people like the resorts.
- Being on the ground floor made it super simple to enjoy the sun the sand and snorkeling areas. Upper-floor condos force you to walk around the back of the building and carry your stuff with you everywhere but this unit you just walk outside. Easy access to grab lunch or a drink real quick and head back out.
- Communication with the owner was good, a little weird as he had certain emails where he could receive things and didn't really text for info. Wanted to call, which I'm not sure people do anymore but ultimately things went well.
- Check-in: there really isn't one which is so nice after a long flight and getting your bags and driving to the other side of the island, the last thing you want is to stand in line. You literally pull up, ask the security guy for a parking pass and you're done.
- Comfy bed
- Beach chairs were nicer and newer
Cons:
- It's pretty dated. I few newer pieces of furniture would be nice but if you're in Maui to stay inside you're doing it wrong.
- The unit can get really hot in the afternoon as the sun comes in directly and the main room has no AC and at the time we were there the floor fan was not working
- AC in the bedroom works but during the hotter time of year it doesn't really keep up
- Seems like for our trip the unit wasn't stocked very well. We ran out of toilet paper and had to go buy soap for the shower. Maybe that is normal but it wasn't noted anywhere
- TV remote was out of batteries and I struggled to find any in the unit but was able to at least swap them out of another remote.
- Shower needs some love. Very difficult to get water that wasn't ice cold or super hot.
- boogie boards were all kind of old and torn up which wasn't a huge deal for us as we just used them to float around
- Snorkel gear provided was sort of a mishmash of leftover parts. we could only barely salvage one mask set to work. Not fun to snorkel alone so we bagged it.
Overall totally worth it. With some love it would be perfect

The check in process was a breeze and the property was exactly as expected. I can't say enough how beautiful the views are from the ground floor Lanai. You have access directly to the ocean from there and there are boogie boards, beach chairs, ubrellas, a cooler - basically everything you need for a great beach day. The fridge also has an ice maker which was an excellent plus! As others have said the ammenities within the unit are a bit dated but it still has everything oyu'd need. The bed is comfy, air con in the bedroom, lots of fans, many utensils and small appliances you'd need for your stay. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Superb location! It’s quiet and feels private and secluded. We enjoyed all of Maui but always looked forward to returning to our little paradise. Given the time of year of our stay, we got to watch a constant parade of whales. And the turtles were fun to watch as well. And did I mention the sunsets?? Hope to come back in the not-too-distant future.

This spot is perfect for setting up base and exploring Lahaina. The back screen door directly overlooks the ocean and you can climb down some smaller rocks to get to the water. It had everything we needed and we were out traveling most of the day but it was a great comfortable place to come back to. I’d stay there again.

Wonderful experience, was perfect for my husband & I. The view is fantastic!!! Pool was great, private little beach is AWESOME, watched the whales everyday, & the bed was crazy comfortable!! It’s a quiet condo, which we really liked, but also met so many wonderful people at the pool. Nothing negative to say about this place. Neil, the owner was great to work with.

We only stayed for our last 2 nights in Maui, wish it was longer. The condo itself was clean and had everything you needed but definitely showing its age and could use some updating. It is the perfect size for a couple. We truly enjoyed the convenience of this ground floor condo, just steps from the beach and spent most of our time soaking in the views from the lanai. Our most memorable time from our trip, was the sunsets from the lanai!

What an amazing little place you have Neil! My husband and I LOVED your condo and the location and views were to die for. If you are reading this and wondering if a ground floor condo is the way to go, my answer is yes. To be able to be in Maui and wake every morning to the ocean, and the most beautiful beach, just footsteps away was a dream come true. The condo is small but for my husband and I it was perfect. The bedroom was spacious, the king bed comfy, the kitchen and living area were just enough, the bathroom is great too. We didn't turn the TV on once but that was our goal. The condo was really clean and had everything we needed, the property was really nice too. The grills are located so that you have the most amazing view as well while cooking. It was quiet and just an amazing place to stay. Thank you so much Neil for being so great to work with as well. We will be back!!

We stayed a week and it was perfect. Small kitchen with everything and stores near by. Ground level so you can walk right out to beach... Grills on property and heated pool... Owner has snorkeling gear for use at little beach on property ... Clean and picture perfect. His pictures on ad accurately describe condo. I would stay here again should I get to come back. Btw. Owner is quick to reply!!!

We have been coming to Kuleana, every year for the past ten years. You can't beat the location, close to the water, incredible Sunsets every night, and Neil's unit is one of the nicest we have stayed in. Neil is great to deal with, really wants you to enjoy his place, and keeps it equipped with every thing you would need for a nice stay. We will be back soon, planning a return now!

My husband and I stayed here for the first time and couldn't have asked for a better place. We have stayed at other condos on the island and this condo, the property and the location is great. Let me tell you, you can't beat the view from the condo and the distance to the beach, it is truly paradise! The owner Neil is so flexible and helpful, very personable even though we haven't met him in person. Everything was perfect for us from the size of the condo to the quietness and serenity of the place. The location is close enough to walk to eating establishments and a nice market. The grounds are immaculate, from the pool to the bbq to the exterior. We will certainly be coming back sooner then later we hope!

This was my husband and my second time coming back to use this condo. As usual, it was very clean and well maintained. Neil, the owner, is exceptionally helpful and prompt in answering your questions. My husband and I celebrated our 11th anniversary and found everything just as the year before, in perfect condition. The beach is uncrowded, and the people using condos here are very friendly. We barbequed this time and the barbeques are impeccably clean and well maintained. In addition to the condo being fantastic, the grounds are amazingly beautiful and well maintained. This is a very quiet location where you can relax and enjoy the amazing views. We stayed for two weeks this trip and would stay longer if we had more vacation time! We have already reserved our time for next year! Neil--you're the best!

My husband and I stayed at Neil's condo for our 10th Anniversary. What a beautiful, serene, awesome location. We preferred staying at "Our Little Hawaiian House" for dinner rather than going out. In fact, we preferred the beach every day rather than sight seeing. It was perfect for what we were looking for--a great mix of uncrowded, beautiful scenery and being close to wherever we wanted to go. We did not use the bbq but plan to when we return next year. Neil provides you with everything you could need. We snorkeled, saw turtles, and a pod of dolphins came by. An amazing location, in a beautiful setting. We never saw more than 8 people at a time on the beach. If you're looking for a big resort, with lots of shopping and lots of people--this is not the place for you. However, if you want peace and quiet this is heaven. Neil is also a very easy owner to work with.

This place is a dive. It was so bad my wife and I ended up shelling out a lot more money finding a better place after only one night. If I could get a refund I would demand it immediately. Where to begin:
1) The only thing going for it is the beachfront location. The other end of the unit where the bedroom is located, however, fronts the street with a lot of traffic noise all night.
2) The appliances are dated.
3) The place isn't just small; it's tiny. Almost every wall is covered by mirrors to give the illusion the unit is bigger than it really is. Very creepy.
4) A/C only in the bedroom. Since the living area faces west, it swelters until after sunset. In order to keep it cool, the drapes and the sunshade must be closed which means the room can't be used.
5) Most importantly and the biggest reason we left, THERE IS NO DOOR SEPARATING THE BEDROOM FROM THE REST OF THE UNIT! It's a sliding pocket door with slats. If you're like us and need separate sleeping accommodations for things like snoring it blocks absolutely none of the sound from the other room.
6) We were not told about needing a parking permit until our car was tagged by the local rent-a-cops.
Basically, this is not a warm, friendly and inviting place. When you stay at a place for vacation it's supposed to be a home away from home. This was definitely not it. Look elsewhere.

We especially enjoyed the location of the condo, beach a few steps from ground floor lanai, sidewalks to do daily walk, farmer's market, coffee shop for a latte, and very quiet. The laundry facilities at the
condo complex in need of updating or a stacked unit in the condo would be helpful. Appreciated having snorkel equipment, etc., available, as well as beach chairs.

What a wonderful vacation. My husband and I spent a week in what we can honestly say is a true paradise. You just can't go wrong with this beautiful property. The pictures are true and the view is fantastic. Location, location, location. It's quiet, comfortable and perfectly located. Everything you could want and more; shopping, galleries,restaurants galore, eat at Bubba Gumps, take in a Luau and walk the quaint Front Street strand. If your an avid Golfer.....it's just 5 minutes away with breathtaking views from every green. We have traveled a great deal and can't say enough about this perfect vacation. This could easily become an annual event for us.

My one week stay was a piece of paradise. Each picture on the website showed the beauty of the condo and views and they were perfectly represented of the condo. You could not have a more perfect atmosphere.
I have recommended this condo to many friends and hope they all can take advantage of it.
The only complaint I have is that I was only there a week and not longer.

My first time in Maui and the visit was beautiful. Everything described about the condo and surroundings were true. I could have not had a better time and Neil thank you so much. The water the turtles the shops and the senery magnificent.

Condo had an amazing location 20 feet from jumping in the ocean! We snorkeled daily with the big green sea turtles and there was lots of whale action as well. If you are looking for a place within walking distance to a great coffee shop and a good grocery store - this is your place. Grounds were amazing as well. Thanks Neil!

My husband and I are getting ready for our 3rd trip to Maui to stay at this condo - we love it! We used to spend a couple of nights at a resort and then stay at the condo, but we find the condo to be much more relaxing and will only be staying there from now on. It's one of our favorite places on the planet! We recommend this condo whenever we hear that someone is taking a trip to Maui.
