Staying at this Kona condo was an absolute delight! The unit was immaculate, cozy, and well-equipped. However, what truly stole the show were the mesmerizing sunsets visible from the balcony. The panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean were breathtaking, painting the sky in vibrant hues every evening. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty. This was the perfect place to stay in Kona. The views from the Lanai were amazing. It was fun to watch the surfers and the spinner dolphins. Unfortunately, it was too early for the whales but if you are coming during that time, I am sure it would be great to watch them. The sunsets are also so beautiful to watch and if you are lucky you will see beautiful rainbows also. The unit is very clean and has everything you need. It is also very close to town so you can walk there. I hope someday we can return and I definitely would stay here again.

Imagine sitting out on a lanai, in a comfortable chair, (that is high enough to see over the railing,) looking out at a perfect ocean scene. Some days the waves are huge and crash into the rocks just below. Sometimes the water is quiet ,and the waves gently wash onto the rocks. Perfect peace.
To us, this unit is the perfect size for two people. It has everything that you would need, but is not cluttered. The bed is oh so comfortable. The location is within walking distance of restaurants and fun shopping. Counting the days until our next visit. Thanks for everything, Dan.

This location is perfect for all things Kona. We were very comfortable in this condo, and the sunset views every night were fantastic. A couple of the permanent residents come out and blow conch shells at sunset every night, a ritual we found charming. We were appreciative of the provided beach gear, including an umbrella. This condo has everything you need for a great stay on this side of the island.

We loved the condo and property. The views from the lanai were spectacular! The town of Kona was not as nice as expected. The number of homeless in the area was a little disconcerting and made it uncomfortable to walk around. And this comes from someone who commuted to NYC for 40 years.

My husband and I stayed at this condo to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. The unit was clean and well stocked. The bedroom could be a little warm, but a box fan in the hallway pushed the air fine. The view is beautiful of course but everything about this condo was great! We cooked dinner (my husband caught a fish so we cooked one night) and there were plenty of pots and pans and utensils. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. We loved our stay!!

Absolutely loved this condo! The waterfront view from the balcony and living area was so serene, a tropical paradise! The condo was well equipped from beach towels to shampoo to ziploc bags and everything in between. It was in a great location close to restaurants and shops. There was also a washer/dryer which was very convenient.
We loved it so much we tried to book it again later this year and it was already taken.
Dan, the owner was prompt to any questions we had. The Kona Reef condo complex was well maintained and had a wonderful pool and hot tub area.

The location and view from this condo can't be beat. Short and safe walking distance from Kona shopping and eats but just far enough away to be out of the never ending crowds and road noise. The balcony is stellar. The view is panoramic. The sunsets beautiful.
The kitchen has everything needed to cook with which helps defray the food costs of the Big Island.
Bathroom is small but efficient although I think could benefit with another towel hook. The bedroom stays very warm but does have a ceiling fan.
The wifi kind of works. We were able to connect to Google and our airline app but our other apps would not engage. Bonus, there is a large drawer of books and, as a reader, I was pleased. I left a book I finished and took a new one. The owner is so nice and is quick to provide info about condo and island. The facility has BBQ grills, nice clean pool and chairs. The facility is safe. Yes, I would stay again in this unit.

When we arrived at this condo we found it stocked with all the necessities (soap, laundry detergent, coffee filters, ziploc bags, etc). Location is very close to restaurants and shopping, didn’t have to drive to eat/shop. The view was absolutely beautiful from the balcony! We hope to return someday!

We have owned and rented an oceanfront condo on Maui for 18 years, and as such know what a rental condo should be and not be. Dan's condo hits all the right points....clean, comfortable, very well equipped, excellent location, comfortable and flexible parking, great views, well equipped common areas with hot tub and pool, and a short walk to restaurants, beach, and other attractions.
Check in / check out process is smooth and flawless, nice welcome amenities, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and linens.
He is doing a great job with this condo, and I heartily recommend you stay at his place!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The view from the lanai was beautiful. We spent a lot of time there watching the surf, the early morning swimmers, the rainbows, the gorgeous sunsets.... The property was clean and well-stocked. The owners seemingly thought of everything guests could need, from the obvious paper products and beach towels to the extra thoughtful ziploc bags and coolers. Nice washer and dryer, with detergent, etc available too.
The location was ideal: an easy walk to downtown, but far enough away to not get the noise. Dan was great to deal with - very responsive and friendly. If we come back to Hawaii, we'd definitely stay here again.

Another great stay! My husband and I have been coming here for a month each year since 2016, and that in itself speaks to how exceptional this condo unit is. The first thing you’ll notice when you enter is how impeccably clean it is, and how well equipped it is. The owners take great pride in this property and are continually keeping it in excellent condition by adding and/or replacing items as needed. The lanai is directly oceanfront, which is great for whale-watching, people-watching, and the sunset viewing. The condo building has multiple bbqs, a heated pool, covered parking, and is located at the edge of the downtown core. Highly recommend a stay in this particular condo unit – I guarantee you will love it!

Clean, close to town, and perfect for an island getaway.
The lanai was perfect for sunsets and viewing the ocean. We were able to see a storm come in which was an experience to enjoy. Watched surfers daily having coffee and breakfast.

Great location, great communication, wonderful property and killer views. We had a hard time leaving the patio because the view was so amazing. We saw humpback whales and spinner dolphins most days we were sitting there (December). Definitely bring binoculars. It was very quiet, peaceful and clean and easy to walk into town to explore. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook great food. The pool was really nice with lots of seating. Just got home and already thinking about coming back.

If staying in Kailua Kona this condo has everything you need. The balcony is practically over the ocean. It has a nice pool, spa and BBQ area. Walk a few mins to town. It’s beautifully decorated, with comfortable king bed. The owner has thought of everything, beach chairs, towels and umbrella, a kitchen that is fully equipped and stocked with all the essentials, and he thoughtfully supplies a bag of coffee beans and snacks to get started. It might be the best equipped condo we have rented from anyone. You will love it!

I hesitate to write a review for this place. If everyone loves it as much as we do, we will never get in again next year!
It is just the right size for two people. Some units don't have enough of anything, but almost as many have too much and are jammed. . This place has just the right amount of furniture, dishes, kitchen supplies, towels, linens etc.
We loved the lanai with its comfy chairs that you can sit in and see over the rails . We ate every meal out there. Of course the view is spectacular.

Everything about this condo was perfect. We loved our stay. The location was a short walk to restaurants and shops so we never had to look for parking. We just strolled down the hill and had dozens of restaurants and shops to choose from. The condo itself was immaculate with everything you might need readily available. But we loved the lanai best with wonderful ocean views. We already miss the sound of the surf crashing against the lava rocks. It would be hard to find better accommodations anywhere nearby. Just book it….

From pre-vacation to actual vacation, this rental was a great experience. Owner was very communicative, organized, and answered all questions. The location is wonderfully convenient to the beach, restaurants, etc. The unit itself was very clean, comfortable, and well located in the complex—perfect for relaxing on the balcony to enjoy the ocean view and magnificent sunsets. The condo was just as described. The oceanfront view was spectacular. We spent lots of time having coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at sunset. It was so fun watching the surfers, para sailing and the cruise ship that came in for a night. The condo was super clean and had everything we needed. The snacks and coffee was very much appreciated. Kona Reef is a nice complex in a fantastic location (5 min walk to Kailua village). This oceanfront unit has an unbeatable view where we watched surfers everyday. My wife and I arrived to a clean, well-stocked unit that included thoughtful welcome gifts. The attention to detail exceeded expectations. We've stayed at over a dozen STRs and could tell the owners know what they're doing. No issues at all, and would highly recommend staying here for a great couple's getaway.

Everything was wonderful, from the easy access through easy checkout! The view from the ocean front lanai was beautiful, where I could have stayed all day! The unit was clean and went above and beyond with all the goodies and necessities that you could need. That was super appreciated!! The bed was very comfortable and sleeping with the windows and lanai open, we never used the air conditioner. This property was just right for our visit to the Big Island, and we were very grateful for the AC unit in this condo, since not all condos in this complex offer this amenity. However, one little drawback is that the unit is in the living area and doesn't cool the bedroom as well, even when run constantly. A good fan did help with sleeping in a warmer room though. Visitors may just want to be aware of this going in.

My husband and I have returned to this condo year after year for an extended stay for a number of years now. That in itself speaks volumes to how much we love and appreciate the care that goes into making this particular condo unit a true home-away-from-home. The location is at the edge of Kailua-Kona town and the unit is directly ocean front. I guarantee you will spend many hours on the lanai. The condo unit has been fully updated through the years. Every year, the owners make improvements by adding or replacing something in the unit. The owners go above and beyond to make sure all needs are met from supplying toiletries and paper towels and toilet paper to numerous beach items. There are way too many amenities to list them all here. We also need to give a huge shout-out to the housekeeper and maintenance man. The unit is immaculately cleaned in between stays and during extended stays. If any issues arise, (like the battery in the lanai fan died while we were there), the maintenance man is ready to look after things. He delivered a new battery the next day, even though we said there was no rush. I could go on and on, but we just encourage you to come and see for yourself how truly special this condo unit is. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The excellent directions and check in instructions made arriving at night very easy. The condo was exceptionally clean and neat and outfitted with everything necessary for a great stay. We loved watching whales, dolphins, sunsets and surfers from the lanai. The condo is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and historic sights and an easy drive to beaches, grocery and other stores and restaurants.

We loved being so close to the ocean. The sound of the surf all the time is soothing and relaxing. It was also a lot of fun to watch and hear the crashing roar of the waves and watch the surfers nearby when the surf was up!
The sunset every single night was beautiful.
Dan was a great host and his crew were real professionals. We got answers to our questions and help when we needed it very quickly.
Here, you’re close to grocery stores, shops, and many beaches. If you like sun and water, it’s hard for me to believe you won’t enjoy your stay here.

This property was just the right place for us to stay for a couple of weeks and escape the rainy Pacific Northwest. The location was great. The condo had everything we needed. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen has all the essentials for cooking. We even had coffee to greet us! Dan was easy to work with, Jim the maintenance person came and changed out a light fixture the day after calling him! I would highly recommend this condo to couples looking for the ultimate view! The sunsets from the balcony cannot be beat! We had a great stay. Dan was easy to communicate with. So appreciate the coffee and goodies! Also having paper products was wonderful. Condo is equipped with everything you need. My only suggestion would be to get beach chairs that put you lower to the sand and can be adjusted. The current ones are not beach friendly. This vacation rental was as advertised. Great location, clean and in order upon arrival. The unit itself was well stocked with a welcome basket, kitchen, bathroom, beach, & laundry items. A brand new washer/dryer came in handy towards the end of our trip. What really makes this unit is the balcony overlooking the coastline where the views and sounds of the ocean was tranquil. It was great having breakfast and ending the day on the balcony for every day of the trip. We would definitely stay here on our next visit to Kona.

The unit we stayed in was clean and right on the ocean! It has everything you will need to enjoy the Big Island. There are hotels nearby that charge double what we paid...and these hotels don't have any of the ammenities that we had. Plus, our customer service rep (Dan - the owner) is better than anyone you will find at a hotel.
If you are staying in Kona, you would be cheating yourself if you did not stay here...sooooo awesome and such a great value! We will certainly book here again if visiting Kona!

Stayed with my partner in August and LOVED this waterfront condo! Its spacious (for Hawaii standards) and had AC in the main room which was useful on the hot days. Wifi was strong (my partner worked a half day and took a zoom call) and the place was clean. Kitchen had all you needed to cook meals and wonderful plasticware for the pool area. But the real highlight was the gorgeous view and lani... we spent time sipping wine and it was a great place to eat our takeout while listening to the waves crash. Well located for all activities on Kona side of the island!

First off, it starts with an owner who wants to make sure you have a GREAT stay. From engaging in the initial conversations about the unit and things to do, to stocking the unit adequately for your stay, Dan really cares about his guests.
The unit was just as described with incredible views and all the comforts needed for making for a wonderful vacation. The only change I would make is staying longer. Not to worry though, I’ll remedy that the next time.

A very well equipped and tastefully remodeled unit in our favorite complex. Clean and comfortable. Everything worked well and we especially appreciated the updated bathroom. Our two week stay was relaxing and exactly what we needed. Dan was a pleasure to deal with - we have already reserved with him for the same time next year!

We loved our stay at the Kona Reef! The condo was very clean, neat, well stocked, and well maintained.....the pictures are accurate. The view is tremendous! We thought the location on Ali’i Dr. was ideal to walk to restaurants and shops on the access road (we loved Foster’s Kitchen) and yet with our views, grassy area and ocean right there, we felt far away from the busyness of that area as soon as we returned. Dan, the owner, was extremely responsive, available and helpful providing information and answering questions from the first time we contacted him until we arrived. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend D27.

This place is a clean, well-equipped front row seat on the ocean, where four can dine on the lanai (with ceiling fan) within yards of the surf. Kona destinations are a stroll away—leave the car in the covered parking. The kitchen has everything we wanted, the bathroom is updated with a nice walk-in shower. There are plenty of extras for the beach. Dan was prompt and helpful. We are definitely planning on a repeat performance.

The condo is great! The bed is comfortable, great shower, the view is amazing, and Dan is great to work with. He verified that everything was OK the day after I checked in. I never turned on the TV. But the wi-fi was fast when I had to do some work while on vacation.

We have stayed in this unit before. It's always a great condo to stay in. It's ocean front with all the views you came to Hawaii to see. Dan is very responsive and keeps everything in great shape for his guests. The condo is furnished very well and is very comfortable. The entire property is great. We've been coming here for 7 years.

This is a very comfortable, nicely maintained one-bedroom condo which looks west over the ocean. We're not talking about a distant view - this unit is only a dozen yards from the surf. If you can pull yourself away from the lanai and its views, you are a short walk from some very tasty restaurants and coffee shops on Alii Drive. The unit has been nicely updated, has a very well-stocked kitchen, and the owner was kind enough to leave a bag of 100% Kona coffee on the counter for us. What a nice surprise. The only drawback of this property is that the bedroom is on the east side of the unit, some distance from the AC unit in the living room, so the bedroom can get a little warm. The bedroom window is also next to the exterior staircase, and some of our neighbors were very loud when they returned home late each night. Nevertheless, we'd happily stay here again.

We are two retirees who greatly enjoyed our stay at D-27. Everything you are likely to need is here, beach towels, dishes, dishsoap, dishwasher, full size washer and dryer with detergent and softener provided; but the real prize is the view of the ocean. We never used the AC, just opened the balcony slider and listened to the surf all the time we were there. A nice breeze and the fans kept us cool enough. All furniture and appliances were new and spotless. Nice furniture on the balcony to watch the sunrise, the outrigger races and have a maitai at home as the sunsets.

We highly recommend this comfy condo. It is an easy walk to restaurants and to downtown Kona. The condo is beautifully appointed with just about everything you will need for a very pleasant holiday. Two of the days we were there cruise ships tendered in people. We watched from the patio. Also, competitors are already there for the Iron Man event in October. We watched swimmers train in the deep water. The owners are wonderful and very responsive if you have a problem, which we didn't, other than I couldn't figure out how to turn on a fan. The owner got back to me within 10 minutes. The switch turned out to be behind a lamp. What a delightful vacation. We will be back.

Everything about the condo, the Kona Reef complex, and its location worked so well for us. Everything we needed to enjoy the condo was easily available, and we enjoyed so many things in the area when we were there. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions about things to do while we were there. The FairWinds cruise with snorkeling and BBQ was a blast. Yesterday morning we did the canoeing at the Keauhou Canoe Club and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had drinks the other night at Huggo's On The Rocks and enjoyed the live music there. Snorkeled four times when we were there at various places and it was outstanding, took the boogie boards and beach chairs in the condo to Hapuna Beach one afternoon and took in the sunset there. And the list goes on and on. Truly one of the BEST vacations that my wife and I have ever had. Thank you for providing us such a great place to stay.

Great location - Spotlessly Clean - Didn't want for a thing - If your going to visit Kona book this condo you won't be disappointed. Recently renovated, comfortable bed, awesome view from the living room & balcony. Led tv with Netflix that was a great bonus as I was unit bound for a couple of days. Will definitely book this unit again!
