This is our second stay at this property. I didn’t think it would be better than the last stay, but it was! The host was so gracious with the few request we made. He was prompt to respond and went way above and beyond. When you arrive, there is a very generous gift basket with clear directions of how to turn everything on. It was very clean and had a welcoming vibe. The kitchen is very well stocked with upgraded equipment and utensils. The outdoor kitchen is so much fun, complete with a air fryer and grill. There is a washer and dryer to use also. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. We both slept liked rocks while we were there. There are 2 separate a/c units that keep the house so nice and cool. The star of the house is the pool and outdoor shower. It is so private and inviting. The only down side to this house is you just don’t want to leave it. It’s so cozy and comfortable and has everything you could ever need. We so enjoyed both of our stays there and hope to return very soon. Thank you to the host Mark for being so accommodating and helpful.

Wonderful to have as desk set up for the computer. So few folks think of this. Only one criticism: The Kitchen was "split" with Fridge Sink, & Dishwasher inside and Cooking facilities outside. We managed fine, but it was a wee bit of a surprise. Otherwise wonderful. Great TV set up. Lovely Pool. Great Parking. We'd go return.

The property and owner were terrific. We enjoyed the pool and sunsets multiple times and had everything we needed for cooking and for the beach. Very well stocked pool house for two. The ONLY issue was barking dogs in the neighborhood.

Overall the PoolHouse was exceptional. Having access to a private pool and outdoor kitchen helped balance the weather conditions and escaping to the comfort of air conditioning when desired. Very comfortable bed and seating areas. The rental had quick access to the main parts of town and all amenities. The view was wonderful!

The home was within a 5 minute drive of the quaint and historical township of Kailua-Kona.
It provided great views of the ocean and cruise ships. The lanai and pool were private and the bed is so comfortable.

The pool house was the perfect spot for our yearly sun break on the Big Island. The house is comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean in a nice neighborhood setting close to shopping and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed reading by the pool and relaxing. This is a wonderful place for a vacation getaway! Didn’t quite know that we would have a literal outdoor kitchen but it worked out very well and really enjoyed cooking along with watching a gorgeous sunset. Bed was super comfortable and the place was very well stocked. Only downside was local frog sounds and neighbor dogs barking. But overall, we’d stay here in a heartbeat.

The pool house was just as the vrbo listing described. We saw so many beautiful sunsets right from our lanai We loved the privacy of the deck area and the pool. It was a bit cold due to the time of year we stayed, but we loved having the private setting in a neighbourhood so close to everything. 5 minutes from groceries, restaurants, downtown and only 15 to a cinema. Near the cinema was Sunset Kai Lanai (was a great restaurant with a view). Mark was great at communicating with us when we had questions and responded very quickly. The bed at the house was so comfortable we are now going to replace our bed at home. Mahalo for sharing your home with us

Everything about the stay was flawless. The instructions and communication prior to arrival were complete and clear. The property was clean, stocked with basic necessities and the location is better than what is in the listing description. Views are tremendous. We had an excellent experience at this property. The property is lovely and just as advertised! We were in town mostly for diving and this was a great retreat. Love having the outdoor kitchen and table for breakfasts and dinners. Bed is super comfortable! Pool is refreshing and having the space to rinse and dry dive gear was appreciated. If you plan a night out in town, it's a very inexpensive uber trip. Beautiful sunsets from the lanai as well!

Wow wow wowie wow! What a beautiful place. From the very comfortable cal king bed, cool air conditioning, outdoor kitchen, clean and sparkling swimming pool, outdoor shower and well stocked indoor kitchen(yes, it has two kitchens.) Everything was top notch. Most of the houses we have rented loan their tenants all of their worn-out leftover pots, pans, knives etc.. this is not the case with this rental. Sharp quality knives, quality cookware and even an air fryer!! Lots of extras like spices and condiments. They even left a VERY generous welcome basket with local goodies. Plenty of pool towels and very comfortable patio furniture. We travel quite a bit and always rent a house when we do. This place takes the cake! It really does have it all! The sunsets were amazing and the pool was warm enough for a midnight swim. Very quiet neighborhood with all the sounds and vegetation you expect to have in Hawaii! Overall, the nicest place we have ever rented. A+++++

We recently returned from 6 days at the Pool House. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen the right home-base for our time on The Big Island. The location is in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from touristy downtown Kona, grocery stores and so many great restaurants and shops. Our hosts left us a wonderful welcome basket with local Hawaiian treats, coffee beans and so much more--even an avocado from their farm--the largest and creamiest avocado I've ever enjoyed! There was even a bottle of Prosecco congratulating us on our anniversary! The home was clean, beautifully decorated and the pool was OH SO NICE! After a day of touring the island, eating delicious food and experiencing the Aloha spirit, we looked forward to returning to the Pool House for a relaxing cocktail and a dip in the quiet, private pool. If we had stayed at a resort, most of the pools would have been closed (typically by sunset) by the time we returned each day. The sunsets from the lanai were breathtaking and the view from the deck was amazing. We didn't experience any problems that required assistance from our hosts, but we did reach out to them for restaurant suggestions and their responses were timely and always excellent! The Pool House offers all the amenities a traveler could ask for: comfortable furniture and bedding, beach towels, a cooler bag, snorkel gear, pool floats and more. Our only suggestion would be the addition of a couple of true beach chairs for vacationers to borrow if they're hitting the beach.
In summary.... we absolutely loved our stay at the Pool House and highly recommend it if you want to try something different from a crowded resort hotel. The quiet evening dips in the pool were heavenly! I'm hoping for a return visit in the future!

Amazing and beyond expectations. Caring hosts, lovingly remodeled, wonderful ocean view, gift basket of Hawaii made treats, thoughtfully stocked kitchen with an excellent variety of spices, very comfortable king with luxury bedding, safe for valuables, great neighborhood, beach gear, rain ponchos, and orchids in the kitchen and bathroom. The most wonderful part of staying at the Pool house is sitting on the patio/lanai by the pool having dinner and watching the amazing sunset. The patio/lanai perfectly looks toward the ocean.
The house is everything the listing says it is. The pool patio/lanai is even better than the pictures !! The beds are comfortable. Mark and Denise are fabulous hosts. Mark responded very quickly and was very helpful with any of our concerns and questions. They have thought of every detail to make their house a home during the stay. From dishes to laundry detergent to pool toys and towels. The shower has good water pressure and is very refreshing.
The location is excellent. 15 minutes from the airport. 5 minutes to downtown Kona with great restaurants. We specifically enjoyed TK Noodle House Kona at 75 Hanama Pl, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 (5 min from the house)
It is a long drive to Volcano National Park but so worth the effort. Don't forget to stop at Punalu'U Bake Shop at 95-5642 Mamalahoa Hwy, Naalehu, HI 96772 on the way for awesome malasadas. The Hilo market on Wednesday and Saturday is also worth the trip.
We also used the Shaka Big Island Driving tour app for a personal tour guide as you drive. (Works by GPS)
We would love to come back and stay at the Pool house any time we are on the Big Island. It is truly a wonderful place.

We have stayed in many, many vacation rental homes over the years and this one was by far the best. It had so many extras that were very useful, anywhere from the awesome welcome package including bag of Kona coffee, macadamia nuts and large bottle of water. We felt very at home here, the amenities were great, location was perfect and Mark was very, very responsive. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with view screening that let in plenty of light but provided great privacy. My husband enjoyed daily laps in the private pool. The hosts have provided everything you need, and extra treats such as wine and Kona coffee. Carport parking right next to the entrance was a bonus.

Mark is an excellent host and provides a top-tier, professional rental experience. Everything was well cleaned and nothing felt substandard or neglected, e.g., no frayed towels or threadbare bedding. The kitchen was well stocked and had thoughtful "starter pack" of things that we loved. And this is all on top of the fact that you have access to a private pool where you can swim, or flounder like me, without fighting the crowds or worrying about looking silly; and a wonderful lanai where there's always a free lounge chair where you can watch the sunset. We had a wonderful time and I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

We kept searching on different websites and apps for a local place to stay. We did not want the hotel experience and price. Once we found this spot we booked it immediately! It did not disappoint. The cleaners missed a couple of spots and the owners took care of it immediately. They ALWAYS respond in a timely fashion. Private spot with private pool. A GREAT view while relaxing at the pool. Very happy with our decision.
