Very nice, comfortable, quiet house near Volcanos National Park. Very well stocked kitchen. Bedrooms nice and worked well for our family with 2 small kids. Love spot at the end of the road in the woods - gorgeous flowers. The hot tub would have been nice, but had been too heavily chlorinated and the chemical smell was so strong, we were unable to use it.

My family stayed for 3 Nights. We loved the location and area. The yard is beautiful. The hot tub was a huge highlight. It was a bit warm during the day due to no AC. The bedrooms and living room had ceiling fans. We opened up the windows to get some airflow. It was okay, but it was definitely hot during the day. At night it got nice and cool, so sleeping was not an issue due to heat.....but the DANG tree frogs make a LOT of noise.. so be prepared. The interior of the house was as pictured, and at a glance everything looked nice. When you look a bit closer though, it was a bit dirty. It was obvious that the cleaners do not do a thorough cleaning...more just a "surface" clean. The blinds were covered in gunk. the sheets/pillows/furniture had "oil stains" from use.... so we had to put sheets down on everything. The hot tub worked great, which got a lot of use while we were there. There were extra sheets, towels, spices, etc which was greatly appreciated. The washer/dryer worked great. There was plenty of space with the 4 bedrooms, and 2.5 baths. We were told the water is filtered and UV light filtered...it tasted just fine. The power is solar power, and we did not see any issue with the power except when you charge your phones/etc they charge SUPER slow, other than that... had no issues.

Our stay was amazing! The lush greenery and serenading Coqui frogs were a lovely touch. Plus, the space was super accommodating for our group of 7 adults - plenty of room to spread out and relax. Volcano National Park was just a 15-minute drive away, and everything else we expected was there too! We loved ending the evenings with a warm soak in the hot tub under the stars, followed by gathering around the outdoor fire pit. One more tip: be sure to check out, Lanikai Brewing in Volcano & Kaleo's Bar & Grill in OrchidLand– you should definitely give it a try!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home— it had everything we would have needed and then some! Close proximity to Volcano National Park made it easy for our family to take breaks between exploring, and the hot tub was a great way to wind down at the end of each day. Thank you so very much for welcoming us into your home— our stay here was one of the most memorable parts of our week long vacation!

We enjoyed our stay here. A few aspects of the property are a bit dated/worn (wobbly chair legs, worn kitchen utensils, old copies of tech instructions, we didn’t use the hot tub as it was partially filled, etc). Nothing really major but noticeable and I can imagine it’s time-consuming and expensive to update and I’m sure the rainforest environment isn’t easy. That said, the location was perfect for Volcano National Park and the owner was responsive when we were unable to set the security system. It’s a perfect spot to easily get to the National Park which was our priority and the space as great for our family.

House worked great for our needs. We enjoyed the hot tub. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the beds were so so.

June 2025
This house is beautiful! Gorgeous floors and perfect layout for two families as its a split plan, the beds are very comfortable and the kids voted it the coziest house we stayed in on the Island (we stayed in three) The house is well equipped and the hot tub was very clean and hot even though the cover was broken when we arrived they still had it hot and clean and ready for use and the missing cover did not affect us in any way. Its is very cool and damp up there so there are dehumidifiers in every room which was lovely. The landscaping is gorgeous they have orchids and bromeliads growing all over the property. The master bedroom bed is creaky like someone mentioned but its a very solid heavy wooden frame and high quality and still very comfortable. We had a great two night stay and even got to see the Volcano erupt on June 4th!! This house is at the end of a dead end street so its very quiet and private and lovely. Some people said there was a musty smell but I think its only the rug by the front door because the house smelled fine to us. We would stay here again for sure. The host was very efficient and it was easy to access and check in and out were a breeze.

This property was perfect for our group. The kitchen was adequately equipped, there was good family space, and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. The host was readily available to answer any questions we had.

The house was very clean. Located in a very quiet neighborhood. It was really close to Volcano National Park. Just about 45 min drive to Hilo and Black Sand Beach. Would definitely recommend this property.

March 2025
The house was clean, but the furniture was very old. The beds were very creaky as were the kitchen chairs. The hot tub was very old. It was also dirty and full of sand. Needless to say, we did NOT use it. The neighborhood was just ok. Lots of barking dogs. The driveway was oddly shaped. Would not recommend.

The musty smell is overwhelming as you open the front door. The house itself is very nice, but needs upkeep. My husband and I chose this property for 3 reasons: proximity to Volcano national park, the hot tub, and the washer/ dryer access. The proximity to the park is very nice. The hot tub was very dirty. The cover had obviously been broken for quite some time as the edges were bowed and there were floating particles from the lid in the water in addition to other dirt particles. The hot tub was also quite loud. 2 of the bedrooms face the hot tub and the noises kept waking up my husband throughout the night. The laundry facilities are apparently only available if you stay for a longer period. When I asked the owner if it was possible for us to use the laundry for our 2 night stay, there was no response (and the laundry is padlocked in the garage). My husband and I also own a vacation rental property and do everything we can to make our guests comfortable. I can’t even imagine the reason for limiting access to laundry?? If you are going to limit laundry access, washer/ dryer should be removed from the listing, not included in the fine print. Also, if you are uncomfortable with cameras, you should note there are security cameras outside of the house. The owner no doubt watched us head to the laundromat in town.

Beautiful respite in the rainforest just a few minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. We loved the huge green tree ferns and the flowers surrounding the property, giving it a private fantasy feeling, just like the pictures on the website. We loved the jacuzzi amongst the moss and ferns. We enjoyed the sounds of the many frogs and birds.

February 2025
We enjoyed our stay here. The home was clean, had easy check in and check out, lots of space, hot tub, and grill. It is a very quiet area and with all the lush greenery, you can't see any neighbors. The home is 10 minutes from the entrance of Volcanoes National Park, where we spent the majority of our time in the area. If we come back to this area, I would stay here again.

Local family from Kona celebrating a birthday with a staycation to Volcano. House had everything including great location. House manager was very responsive answering any questions. We will definitely rent again.

February 2025
Three main reasons why I have decided to stay at this place. The first one was its location. The property was super close to Volcano National Park, it literally took less than 5 minutes to the entrance. It is about 45 minute, with traffic to Hilo and about a over little 2 hours to Kona. The second reason was that the property was extremely spacious. Upon entering the house, there is a beautiful foyer and closest. To the left are 2 queen bedrooms, laundry room, entrance to garage and 1 and a half bath. The water pump is located on this side of the house and runs frequently. When the pump runs it does get loud, especially at night when its so quiet. So if you are a light sleeper this will bother you, however it did not bother us. To the right is the master bedroom with jetted tub and an additional room with 2 twin bed. It is an open living room with the dinning, and kitchen adjacent too. It also has 2 double sliding doors, providing plenty of sunshine into the house. The house is located at the end of road. The third and most important reason was that this property had a hot tub! For the length of our stay I was so excited that after long days of venturing out, I could use it to soak up and relax some of my muscles however Ims e what the maintenance is for the hot tub but it was quite filthy, it looked like someone could get sick after using it. So for the length of our stay we did not use it at all and that was very disappointing. Unfortunately for that reason I am taking.

This property served a large group of my friends very well for a 5 night stay. It has lots of beds, a large well-stocked kitchen, hot tub, etc. I'd use it again in a heartbeat.

We loved being close to the national park. It’s very dark at night so driving is best if you want to go to village or national park. we did a day trip to Hilo and to seeblack sand beach with sea turtles. The house we well appointed and spacious. we loved the hot tub and the views out the window of the mist and rainforest. There is an alarm system on the house that they recommend that you set and a safe (that was not working) that they recommended using. We didn’t know if there had been crime or if it was just a safety precaution. we loved watching a movie on the sectional couch.and being able to do laundry. relaxing stay.

January 2025
We enjoyed this home and the hot tub. Remember to grab groceries somewhere before settling in - it’s a long way to a large market. Great location if you want to visit the park. We lucked out because the volcano erupted on our last day and we were able to get over there in about 10 minutes too watch the show.

The name of this says it all. The location is ideal for visiting Volcano National Park and Volcano Winery. The house layout is ideal for families and friends with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The surrounding landscape is lush and tropical with a cooler climate than down near the ocean. Spacious living area and up to date Kitchen made cooking very easy. We will definitely stay here again.

Tidy, quaint. Conveniently located for our purposes. We needed a 4-bedroom place, so it achieved that. We like self-catering. The essential appliances all worked.

This was a great location for exploring the island. Right at the entrance to Volcanos National Park and only a short drive to so many other sites. Clean, comfortable and spacious.

August 2024
This cozy home was ideal for our 2-night stay to visit VNP as it was very close to the park entrance. The home was well-equipped for our stay; however, the grill did not heat up to a high enough temp to allow us to cook steaks we purchased for dinner. We had to bring them in and cook them under the broiler. The outdoor spa was an added plus for our grandsons.

Joy & Tom S.

Lovely, well equipped home conveniently located close to Volcanoes National Park.

July 2024
Lovely property, lots of space, and well equipped for a short stay in Volcano. Only drawback is for stays of fewer than three nights you don’t get laundry access. It does say that at the very end of the description, but I booked over a year ago and did a quick check of the amenities before arriving and saw washer and dryer at the top so didn’t think twice. Kind of a bummer, but rules are rules and still a great place to stay.

Susan L.
July 2024
Great layout in the house. Perfect for six of us ranging from 10 years old to two old codgers. Beautiful area that feels like there’s no one else around. We did not spend a lot of time at the house. It was our base for exploring the volcano area.

Daniel T.
June 2024
House was great. No complaints

June 2024
Excellent location with very easy access to the park. The hot tub was very welcome on the misty mornings with that first cup of coffee, and in the afternoon or evening after a day of activity with a cold drink or glass of wine. The lush backdrop of flora and birds surrounding the property added to the sense of peace and isolation. The fire pit is also a nice addition to mellow evenings. Unfortunately, the bedroom closest to the garage is located by the water pump which is noisy whenever any water is running in the house.

Carin R.
June 2024
The grounds and hot tub were really nice. The beds were not very comfortable. There was a loud pump going off and on all night next to my bedroom that made it nearly impossible to sleep. It was advertised as having a washer and dryer, but they were in a locked room we could not access, and we had planned on doing laundry here so were running out of clothes. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was also unbalanced and very loud. Very strong musty smell throughout the hosue. It was overall disappointing.

May 2024
We had trouble getting into the code. We did not expect alarm system. The place was beautiful however we thought the house had air conditioning. The place felt damp and at times difficult to get comfortable. Location was perfect. . The hot tub was dirty but we cleaned and were able to use. Overall would recommend staying here.

April 2024
The house was spacious and over nice. One room had mold and could not be slept in due to the smell. They had a dehumidifier in the room, but did not eliminate the smell.. The house was mostly clean, but could use a little extra cleaning, bathrooms and kitchen especially. The owner is very nice and very good with communication. We enjoyed the location of the house, at the end of the street, so not any traffic. The only other thing was we had 7 adults and 2 children and they left out 6 towels for us to use for a week long stay with no laundry soap to wash.

Matthew B.
March 2024
We had a great stay. The home was very large and homey. It was clean, the hot tub was a plus, and the location was a very short drive to the Volcano National Park. I traveled with my wife, our two boys (ages 5 and 2), my father-in-law, and brother-in-law, there was plenty of room for all and my kids enjoyed the spacious back yard.

Eben S.
March 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at this volcano house. It was large enough for us to spread out and have some space, but not too big. The host was easy to communicate with, and seemed eager for us to be happy with the rental. It was pretty cool for Hawaii, but the rental has a wood stove and the host left a small supply of wood. It kept the place warm in the evenings. If you have a group this is a great rental.

February 2024
Very comfortable and well appointed accommodations! We were a group of 3 couples and there was plenty of room for everyone to hang out and be comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed including some condiments we had forgotten. Excellent value and super close to the volcano for hikes! Will stay here again!

February 2024
Super good spot in Volcano, a few minutes from the state park. A little far from Hilo. The hot tub is super clean and huge. Good areas to chill and hangout. Bed were SUPER squeaky but decently comfortable for a vrbo. The check in and out process is super simple too

January 2024
The house was spacious and had everything we needed. Kitchen very stocked and were able to cook every night for ourselves. Very private location. Was a drive to any activities but we didn’t mind. Not the “touristy” side of the island. Nice place for couples or large groups. Would definitely stay again. Overall we had a fantastic stay.

November 2023
House and grounds are beautiful! We loved it. The only negatives were the noise created by the catchment system and whatever critters were under the house/garage area scratching and clawing for hours on end. I slept in the bedroom closest to the laundry room and the critters kept me awake for large portions of most nights! This was a once in a lifetime trip for my whole family. Staying at Creme de la creme made the trip a huge success. The bag of gifts that were left for us was an added, unexpected lovely bonus! Thank you!!

October 2023
Our three couples plus one had a comfortable stay here. Very close to the National Park and just a short drive to Hilo. Loved the large hot tub and the chorus of frogs at night. Nice large dining room table around which to share our meals and a well-equipped kitchen. And a large couch in the living room that accommodated us all!

August 2023
It had been over 5 years since we had been able to gather as a complete Family. Active Duty member, Business owners, and full-time parents. We all gathered in Volcano, to enjoy time away to relax and visit another Island of Hawaii. Creme de la Creme accommodated all of us perfectly (10-7 adults and 3 children (one infant). We were able to prepare our breakfast and Dinner meals with ease in the kitchen (after securing all the needed supplies in Hilo). It was awesome to be able to all gather daily in the am and enjoy a meal, then at the end of the day with dinner completed for us to relax and enjoy the family time. Thank you for quickly responding to my inquires when made and for allowing or vacation time. Sorry about all the leftover groceries, we kind of over shopped, better to have more than not enough.

Fantastic and spacious house in a great location. Owners were very responsive. Highly recommended property for families, close to HVNP.

February 2023
It’s hard to find a nice home to fit our family sized needs! This was perfect! Plenty of space in the living room, dining room and bedrooms! We found the home to be clean and inviting! Loved the close vicinity to the park. Also loved the farmers market in the sleepy town of volcano! Definitely recommend staying

Carl H.
February 2023
Beautiful spacious home with backyard/patio area with hot tub! Literally in a rain forest (including rain while we were there), but the hot tub is covered - no problem! Only minutes away from the park, so we were able to beat the crowds. (You definitely need to see the lava in the early, early morning - like we did - or at night.) The place had everything (and more!) than we needed.

Kathy M.
February 2023
Nice house in great location but in need of some maintenance. The hot tub was a nice plus. However, the house itself was quite dated and could use a deep clean. Bring your own pillows at a minimum (dust on bathroom baseboards, stuff like used bandaids under beds), stained lampshades, and at best dim lighting. On a sunny day (we had none) with all the curtains wide open like the pictures, it might not be as noticeable but on grey days, the house needed better lighting. The front door seemed not well grounded and the security pad numbers stuck. For the price I expected better but it is one of the few places with 4 bedrooms and very easy to get to and from Volcano National Park. With a little TLC this could be quite nice.

Loved the location near the volcano. The house and property were amazing and enough room for everyone.

December 2022
First, the good: This is a nice big house set in a lush rain forest. The living room has a comfortable seating area and the TV is enormous. The kitchen is well laid out with a huge refrigerator, a gas stove and a dishwasher. In the back yard, the Weber gas grill worked perfectly to grill some steaks we bought in Hilo. The not-so-good: The water system's pump is really loud and runs often. This would be a major issue if we needed to use the bedrooms on the water tank side of the house; the pump is loud enough to interfere with sleep. We only used the master bedroom on the other side of the house, so it wasn't as much of an issue, but the pump can be heard throughout the house. In the kitchen, the over-the-stove microwave failed at some point, and was replaced by a counter-top unit. Now there's no vent fan over the stove, which is a problem for cooking, say, bacon for breakfast. The outdoor light fixtures in the front of the house have burned-out bulbs and the driveway is completely dark at night. The wood stove is out of order. Its flue was removed and living room heat was provided by two space heaters. The hot tub water level was too low and when the jets were turned on, water sprayed all over the place. This is a nice house in a great location, but it's in need of maintenance.

Great place! Quiet and spacious

August 2022
The house is in a great location and the space is great for cooking, relaxing, and enjoying your family. There is typical wear and tear around the house, and some of the hardware is in need of an update. However, on balance, the location, quiet, and comfort override the small shortcomings.

Heather g.
August 2022
beautiful home and so close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park! we were able to drive back at night to see lava!! the house was clean, well-appointed, awesome hot tub- thanks for a great stay!! would definitely stay again!!

August 2022
This place does not sleep 12, there is no sleeper sofa but instead the extra “beds” are broken thin futons without sheets. Main bedroom bed is broken and bows in the middle where the main support is broken. Keypad didn’t work and check in instructions were not correct. We had to figure it out bec host wasn’t (still hasn’t) responded. A good portion of the lights don’t work or are burned out including the main lights in the kitchen and one bedroom. Hot tub had debris in it. The neighborhood is cute and the house has promise with a little TLC. Beautiful fairly private grounds. Kitchen was decently well appointed. Coffee was appreciated. Good location ~10 mins from park.

August 2022
This is an ok place with a nice location but details make it not so ok . Some lights didn’t work ( I presume burned out bulbs but no replacement bulbs ). Towel rack fell under weight towels ( not a new problem as other broken towel racks in laundry room). Hot tub was nice feature but the chemicals were so strong that it caused severe coughing. A few extre pillows would have mmade guests who need a bit of elevation for a good night’s sleep would have appreciiated those as well. Loved having acccesss to such a nice house—it just needs a little attention.

August 2022
The proximity to Volcano National Park was amazing! The weather was WET!!! I cannot imagine what the rainy season is like as there were only a few dry hours in the 6 days we stayed. The layout of the property was fantastic and suited our needs perfectly. The one complaint was the cleanliness of the home. If there is a service I could not tell! Also, the mattress in the master could use replacing. The kitchen was a great size and had ample appliances. Bring spices and other pantry items as there are none supplied. Also bring laundry detergent if you are staying for any length of time. This is not supplied nor are facial tissues.

Christine G.
July 2022
The house had everything we needed. Perfect space for a large family. Near by actives - food stores. Volcano NP right down the street. Could use a deep cleaning.

June 2022
Beautiful, lush grounds, close to HWNP, and has everything you will need-extra pillows, blankets, lots of outdoor seating, and the hot tub was great, after long days of exploring!

May 2022
Big house, but not maintained well. Multiple issues with state of repair and cleanliness. Hot tub was a mess. Cover damaged from chemicals, water logged and broken no working filter. Even though they seem to fill it fresh, it is out of repair. Master bath is in need of tub surround repairs. Cooking pans had food residue. Many small things that need attention. Cluttered and dark interior. Couch is too old and needs update - a bit musty and sagging.

The home is our new go-to place to stay when we travel to Volcano. We go twice a year and this unit has great location, superb layout, great furnishings, and all the comforts of home. Comfortable and spacious, the unit easily met the needs of all of our party and provided for a great stay. We look forward to our next trip this summer.

February 2022
Wetter part of the island as expected. House a little dark but nicely appointee and lots of room. Great location for visiting Volcano NP and coastline around this part of the island. Had done in day trips in past and this was way better. Great communication with owner. Would recommend this property.

February 2022
We had a great time at this little piece of paradise. Nice and quiet with well-kept grounds. Responsive hosts to any questions we may have had and the house set-up was great so that sets of adults can have some space to themselves. I look forward to staying here again.

January 2022
We loved the proximity to Volcano NP- easy yto get there, especially for night lava pool viewing! The place was spacious for our family of 5, but not very clean- bathroom floors dirty and dirty dishes in the cupboard. We knew about the oven being broken ahead, for which we were grateful. However, we did not read closely enough that laundry would not be available with a two-night stay which was a major issue for us; the owner refused to budge on our request so we apologize if you ended up on the plane next to us in our days old socks and underwear. There were some minor other repairs that should be done (loose towel bar in the bathroom, tv controls/sound took two teenagers an hour to get to work, door lock was super tricky). For the amount we paid, expected better upkeep and access to laundry!!!

Paula K.
January 2022
The locatio near Volcano was great. When we stayed the oven and the wood stove were not working. They provided a hodgepodge of pots and pans, and we could make due. Three bathrooms were handy for 9 people.

December 2021
Very lovely house, with warm interior décor, lots of places to sit, relax and beautiful landscaping that keep it from feeling like a rental. The proximity to the Volcano Nat'l Park was terrific, and we enjoyed the huge screen TV in the living room to recap our days' adventures by casting our pictures in a "slide show". Note that one of the bedrooms is noisy with a motor (already noted in other reviews) and the bed isn't great. The house manager brought over a blender (a must-have in the tropics, IMHO) as requested, and tried valiantly to scrub the hot tub clean for the first couple of days (and draining and refilling 2x) after previous guests had used greasy sunscreen, so we didn't use it as much as we might. There remained a slight oily sheen to the tub, but that didn't stop us once it heated up (see: blender). She also recommended a pop-up fish monger near Hilo to buy fresh-caught fish - delish! Advice to future visitors: This house was stocked with a limited supply of paper products, and as six of us who stayed four nights, we quickly ran through the one roll of paper towels. So make sure to buy some, as well as paper napkins, once you land in Hilo/Kona. Also, despite the laundry "access", we weren't given laundry soap, so pack a few pods or buy a small bottle. I wish this was clarified in the Amenities listing. Overall, a lovely place in a quiet neighborhood. I loved the rainforest feel!
