Exceeded expectations
When we walked in the door we instantly felt spoiled! This place was very clean and cozy and fit our family and needs perfectly! The town of volcano is so quaint and makes it easy to access the southern parts of the big island. This house was not to far from the main highway and we enjoyed our stay there. The laundry machines, showers, and cookware were great! Thanks for hosting us and our tribe!

◆ Security camera on the front porch, takes snapshots, no audio. No noise decibel monitor.
◆ The Hawaiian Islands have some of the most remote and benign tropical rainforests in the world. Nevertheless, like any moist and fertile environment, you may find some ants, mosquitoes, roaches and critters like little geckos that share this beautiful world with humans. To keep out bugs, remember to close the doors right after entering. Don't leave food or crumbs on counters or tables and avoid eating at the bed because ants are really smart and fast.

We loved the easy proximity to the national park. And it was great hearing the coqui frogs at night!

Very musty smelling. The dehuidifier helped in the great room, but in the bedrooms. There is actual visible milldew on a large portion of the ceiling in the bedroom with the bunkbed. Not worth the money, in fact a refund should be in order for those conditions

The house was very comfortable and welcoming. Lots of room to let the family spread out. Love that it had a dining room that fit all of us for dinner.
Having Two bathrooms was very helpful.
It rained every night we were there and coming from the desert, we enjoyed it. Fell asleep to the sound of the coqui frogs every night. You feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest all by yourselves. Make sure you bring your groceries from the bottom of the mountain; only one small convenience store close by.. though they have a good amount of things…they close early.

Quiet location in the middle of native ohia rainforest. The house has many amenities. Note its not stocked for avid chef, but you can get by with everything they have to make good family meals. Great space for kids, nice outdoor areas. Parking and security with the gate is very good. Excellent location for adventuring at Hawaii volcano national park. It was a great space for our family adventure. Thank you so much.

Property was as advertised. Nothing fancy, but very homey, quiet, and comfortable. Some rooms were converted - outside room was attic and side room was perhaps a mud room. These rooms don't have closets. I would recommend that you purchase your groceries before arriving as the closest real grocery store was about 20-30mins away. The location is very close to Volcanoes Natl Park which was super convenient. There are no close-by beaches, but the drives to them are worth it. We visted Black Sands beach (30mins) and loved seeing the turtles and yellow butterflies!

Great place, with plenty of room inside, cute kids room and a nice lanai. The unit upstairs has a separate entrance and does not have a bathroom.

Recommend accommodation for a group..our group of 7 consisted of mum dad and one son from Australia and son wife and two grandsons from U.S. Location was 5 mins from Volcano National Park and 40 mins from Hilo. We spent 5 days here after 9 days south of Kona and feel we chose ideal locations to enable us to explore The Big Island.

We had such a wonderful time at this remote place. There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor & one private room upstairs that had an outdoor entrance with no bathroom access up there. It was also a nice surprise to see a kitchen sink with a reverse osmosis faucet, a separate filtered water faucet, and a regular faucet. During the evening, you will get to hear the frogs croaking and hopefully see the milky way on a clear night. The location was amazing - only a 5 min drive to the entrance of Volcanoes National Park!
