Nice apartment in a good location, close to the pier, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Condo complex well maintained and secure. Condo had all the amenities listed. Host was proactive and communication was excellent.

Easy walking access to everywhere! Condo was well represented in listing and had everything we needed. Appreciated the corner work desk/chair, as I needed to work part-time during our stay. Great communication: We were made aware that the start knob on the dryer was broken ahead of our stay, but they provided a pair of plyers that enabled the dryer to be started, no problem. We would consider renting here again in the future.

Overall very clean unit w/ nice location = quiet. Plus is fully equipped kitchen w/ all cookware / utensils. Living area is nice; TV connections a hassle. Bath is clean but toilet is ancient / stained - replace it ! Bed is NOT comfortable w/ ancient bedding. Boo! Replace ancient bed and bedding - Costco in Kailua ! Washer worked - Dryer did not. 4 days for temp fix. BBQ close to pool was great for grilling local fresh fish. Parking was close and convenient. Price reasonable compared to glitz hotels. Some minor upgrades will greatly help this property. Thanks.

We rented this "ocean view" condo through VRBO for our Big Island stay. There is minimal/no ocean view, only a "peek" of ocean occasionally, so technically correct. Good location near all the Kailua-Kona attractions, walkable to stores/restaurants/Farmers Market/Kailua Pier, etc. Reserved parking with many speed bumps! No check-in info through the VRBO app, but had been sent by direct e-mail from management company and went to spam, so had to request. I guess it would be helpful to use the app that is being used, maybe? Condo is older, worn but functional and reasonably comfortable. Bedroom doesn't get much from the split-unit A/C, even with the help of fans, so a portable A/C might be helpful. Bathroom was functional but stained toilet seat and tub; a small amount of work would turn this first impression "turn off" around! Thoughtful touches such as power strips in the bedroom and desk area. Bed was comfortable for both of us (a real feat!). Kitchen well-supplied with dishes and equipment. A non-functioning toaster oven, so no toaster for the first few days while we waited for a replacement; missed, as we do a lot of toast for breakfast and sandwiches. The dryer was in the process of being fixed but was unusable past one use early in our stay and no real fix or compensation for our wet laundry was offered (right before we left.). Help from prop. man. hampered by illness---get it---but no backup?

This condo is centrally located and is close to everything you might want. The biggest downside of this place is, the only air conditioning is a small split unit in the living room. There is a long hallway to the bedroom and bathroom. Even with 2 fans blowing down the hallway, the bedroom and bathroom are very hot. The knob on the dryer was broken off as well. The bathroom is very tired and the tub is permanently stained. I was going to just sleep on the pullout sofa, but there was a massive brown stain on the mattress. With some updates and some cool air in the bedroom, this could be an awesome place.

Here is good location to go restaurants Ali drive or other places by car. Simple facilities are easy to stay, we will back here again. One problem is US television it’s has a lot of channel’s difficult to select.

We were so happy with our stay on the Big Island of Hawaii. The condo was perfect and had all the necessities you could want for your vacation. Full kitchen was super useful to make a meal for the off days and not needing to go out for every meal. Location was really nice, short walk to the downtown area. Close to many restaurants and Walmart

Overall the condo was great very clean neat and plenty of supplies. It’s a good location only a short walk to town with shops and lots of restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and all the appliances work great. Two small things the Lani was small and not big enough to sit and they only had one smoking area in the front and no bench to sit on and was close to the street it didn’t feel secure.

It was a longer walk to Alii Drive than I anticipated. It wasn’t too far for normal folk but my husband has trouble walking so we had to drive every time and try to find parking.

The unit (Kalanikai 208) was clean, comfortable and very well equipped for our month-long stay. The pool is great - always clean and enjoyable and the grounds are well-maintained. The management company was responsive to issues within the unit. The thing that really affected our stay was the gutting and complete renovation going on in the unit below. The noise was always present and we could not relax in the unit during the day. In fact, some days we had to leave the condo due to the unpredictable and deafening use of a jackhammer drill. We know that the owner cannot control what goes on in other units but feel we should have had notice of this activity before our stay, or at least some compensation for the time we could not use the unit. The lack of response from the owner was disappointing. We won’t be renting this unit again. We have stayed in KalaniKai on two different locations in the past and we think that the general daytime noise in the area has increased (traffic, noise from adjacent condos beginning early morning). Also, there is no AC in bedroom so windows must remain open and the noise from the driveway, adjacent condos, and pool is especially loud in this unit.

Convenient location. 1 block from Safeway/Starbucks, and 2 blocks from the Kona Brewing Company and other restaurants-easy walking distance. Unit was well stocked. Cooked all my meals but one in the kitchen using supplied pots/pans, etc. and also used the grills located just adjacent in the pool area. Speaking of pool, quite nice and a very peaceful garden setting. Pool gets good sun too for lounging and lots of chairs. Property has a high-end air conditioner for those concerned about temps. I rarely used it, just opened the patio and front doors for a nice breeze. Only upgrade I can think of would be a high boy table and chairs for the lanai.

I loved being close to a safeway, walmart, fast food restaurants, the beach. Super nice and clean. Definitely want to find out where they bought their dishes and silverware at! Highly recommend.
