This place was special. Great location and views for the best nightly sunsets (and whales), huge lanai for all of us to relax on and enjoy meals and drinks, next to the pool/jacuzzi, restaurant/bar, and nightly soft live music playing. The restaurant was great for lunch and dinners when not wanting to venture out. The accommodations were clean and comfortable for us (2 couples). Monday nights there is a small hula show right below and we had the best view. The property management staff was very responsive and accommodating to a couple of our requests which fantastic. We are planning to stay here again next year and bringing family. It was an awesome, relaxing vacation and this place was great!

The units have a great ocean view. They are wonderful and modern with great amenities. The pool and hot tub are right downstairs and quite enjoyable. Do bring USB adapters with you as there are no modern outlets or places for charging items. We can’t recommend this place enough.

This property is well-maintained and clean. It didn't have that "run-down" feel some properties can have. My husband and I were in the bigger unit and our friends in the smaller one. The bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of towels available (for showering AND the beach). I loved having air conditioning and a washer/dryer in the unit. I also loved having two separate units so each couple could have some privacy. The lanai was our "common room". When we weren't out exploring the island, we could be found on the lanai. The views are spectacular! There are beach accessories available (chairs, towels, a cooler, etc) which was very much appreciated.The location was great and the hosts were amazing. Wayne and Corrina were easy to reach by phone and always pleasant and helpful. Check in/check out was easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again the next time we visit the Big Island.

Great location, steps from the pool. Really enjoyed having our meals on the lanai overlooking the golf course and ocean. Nice shopping center up the hill-about a 10 minute walk to restaurants, grocery store & shops. Condos were clean, beds comfortable & were as presented online. The AC wasn’t working in the smaller unit upon arrival, but resolved in a timely manner.

When I was considering this property, before committing, I was totally focused on the room amenities - all of which were great. I missed several key features which added to our stay:- On-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Live music several nights.- A shopping center within a 10 minute walk, including grocery and several restaurants.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was our second visit to this comfortable and beautiful spot and I'm happy to say that it was just as wonderful as the first visit last fall. I think the lanai in this unit is one of the best outdoor spaces I've ever stayed at; large enough to enjoy with a group of friends, well designed with both sun and shade areas, very private (no units above, below, or adjoining) and boasting a lovely view across a gulf course to the ocean. The beds were quite comfortable, with squishy down pillows, the kitchens were well stocked, and the furnishings very adequate. The location is excellent with the town about a 15 minute drive and a beach within a very short drive. We enjoyed two great meals at Kenichi, a Japanese restaurant just up the hill at the Keahou shopping center. The condo is a "private unit" within the Kona Coast resort and while you have access to all the resort's offerings (pool, restaurant, etc.), checking in and out and maintenance are handled by the unit's owner, who made sure we received excellent info (directions, entry procedure, etc.) and was quick to respond to the two minor maintenance problems we encountered.

Found this place after a lot of searching around and it was perfect for my family - my older dad and younger siblings and I in our twenties. Close to magic sands, next to a farmers market, and generally close to every attraction not super touristy. We didn’t realize that the penthouse was sort of set apart from the rest of the resort, but having that privacy was great. We were out on the lanai every day - it was wonderful and is a memory my dad cherishes every day. He’s one that pinches pennies but even he complimented me on this find. There was a minor issue, but the someone from the rental agency came same day to take a look. Highly recommend to any family.

We stayed with our two children. The two suites are married by a private entryway allowing the kids to be in one suite and you in another. The views of the sunsets are incredible you’re immediately adjacent to the pool which makes taking kids easy (and leaving them behind while you grab a cocktail and a swim). My favorite stay ever.

We had a great stay at this penthouse/side by side. The rooms were nicely kept, great air condition when needed and full glass views of the ocean, palm trees, lava beach and green golf course. It does have stairs to navigate (2 flights)_ but well worth the trip. The lanai view is absolutely beautiful. We had great stay and were completely satisfied. Owner/manager is very responsive and communicative. Would give it absolutely our next booking to Kona.

Our stay at this resort was amazing. It was perfect for our family vacation. It is two separate units with a huge shared lanai, providing privacy and ample space to relax together.
The master bedroom had doors that opened to lanais on both sides, allowing cool night breezes to fill the room.
The resort is well located with nice amenities. We enjoyed the restaurant at the pool for a quick bite. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time staying at this property.... and we have already booked it for a third. The unit set up is great for a family, especially with older or adult children.The lanai is where we spend the majority of our time while staying at this property. We love watching the golfers, listening to the birds, and taking in the beauty of the ocean. On multiple days, we saw the spray from the whales in the distance. One evening there was a band and group of children who performed Hawaiian music and talked about the history of the islands. We love this spot for the peace and relaxation we experience while being on the BI. We cannot wait for our next adventure that is already booked for next year.

Overall our stay was wonderful. We had a couple small issues upon arriving but the response was immediate and issues resolve. Thank you Wayne! Such a great set up for our group. We were there with some friends. One couple in the smaller condo and my husband and I in the larger condo however we cooked, dined and spent our time together in the larger unit. We spent every morning and evening on the lanai looking over the pool, golf course and ocean. The view is amazing. We couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The pictures don’t do it justice. Couldn’t ask for a better place! We hope to come again soon and have already recommended it to other friends and relatives!

We enjoyed our experience so much that we have booked the units again for next year. The "2 side by side" units are the perfect way to share a vacation with another couple, family, or friend while maintaining separate zones or space for each. About the only thing I'd add to other reviews is that if you plan to do much cooking, you might want to pack your own knife, as while both kitchens are adequately stocked, they may not be to the same quality you're used to if you love to cook. Be sure to check both as they aren't stocked identically, or at least not when we were there. We were happy to find many staples in the kitchens and bathrooms, so take a good look around and see what you find. We appreciated the beach chairs, towels, etc., and also enjoyed having a pool, hot tub, bar/restaurant, and fitness center right down the steps from us. Great grocery store and some decent restaurants are right across the highway; walkable if you don't mind a hill and some traffic. Strongest wifi will be found on the lanai next to the pool/bar. We were very happy here and glad to be coming back again next fall.

Great location right by the pool and overlooking the golf course. The two room setup, if you get units 201 and 202 was perfect for a family of 4. We mostly used the living area in the larger unit.There were a few things broken - the door latch to the deck, the TVs service, etc., but we contacted the number provided and they were taken care of quickly. Overall very comfortable, well setup and would definitely stay again!

We will come here again, again and again. This place had so many positivities - amazing view, huge lanai, adequately stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and very clean! We enjoyed the pool, the gym, and we even got to watch a children’s luau right off our lanai on our first evening there. We will definitely come again!

be aware there are stairs to navigate. No ceiling fan or other fan and can't turn ac down below 70 and it doesn't stay on what you set it over night anyway. Comfortable and clean but wouldn't stay in the heat of the summer.

The Penthouse 22B at Kona Coast resorts is amazing! The location was perfect and it’s very spacious and clean. The views of the golf coarse and ocean and sunsets were all even better than the pictures! The spacious lanai was awesome! Having the two separate condo units was perfect for two couples, would work great for families as well. Everything about the penthouse was terrific, very nice decor, beautiful big glass doors facing the ocean. The units were very well stocked which was nice! Communication with Wayne( the manager) was great! I would definitely stay in Penthouse 22B again!

We absolutely loved our stay! We needed a place to fill back up and reconnect and this fit the bill to a “T”. The views are magical, the location is excellent, the Penthouse is cozy and well stocked. We had everything we needed to make our own meals and enjoy an ocean view right on the patio. The patio was our favorite spot enjoying every sunset. The patio doors provide an inside outside setting that just completely extends the master bedroom and living room it was magical. We were so close to everything stores, beaches, restaurants etc. we could enjoy the hustle and bustle of Kona easily and then come back to our private Penthouse. They even had on-site pools, BBQ, and restaurant made it so easy if we were feeling lazy. This is a great spot for family the additional space for extra guests was great and let you each enjoy your own privacy. We can not wait to come back! The management was great and very accommodating to all our needs we were able to add an extra night easily as we didn’t want to leave this place.

First time on the Big Island and not sure what to expect. Our family stayed in this two sided suite and it did not disappoint. Absolutely beautiful views of Kona’s sunsets. Spacious living space both inside and on the deck. (4) teen daughters shared smaller unit. All meals and hang out times in the larger unit. Unit has beach chairs, towels, and snorkeling gear to use. The resort has pool and restaurant literally a stones throw away. Not too close so quiet time and breezy days were not interrupted. Large shopping area within 1/2 mile away or less. Groceries, restaurant, post office. Downtown is 12 minutes on main scenic road. Lots of beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants, shops. Visit waitress Emma at Humpy’s restaurant and watch beach volleyball. Do every excursion available. Manta Ray swim, Volcano at night, Star Gazing tour, Zip Lining. Take the scenic road near Hilo for a surprise Botanical Garden tour that ends at the ocean. Go to the Green Sand Beach and pay locals $20 each for an exciting and safe ride to an exclusive beach. Spend time with your feet in the Black Sand Beach and see turtles in ankle deep water. The food is so fresh. The coffee is amazing. Enjoy your visit.

It’s nice to have the pool and restaurant so close and convenient. The view from the lanai’s are spectacular and a great place to do family dinners. Having two rooms set up adjoining only at the entrance and the lanai gave us the space you need when you travel with extended family. You don’t feel on top of each other.

Excellent location- beautiful views, right near pool and restaurant. Lanai is spacious and very comfortable. Property has tennis/pickle ball courts, basketball, and other activities.
