The property description was accurate regarding the space, but many other aspects were misleading. While the yard was lovely, we encountered issues with the neighbors, who made it clear that they did not want us there. We experienced yelling and felt unsafe, with their dog barking incessantly at our children while they issued threats, such as telling us their dogs would jump the fence at our children who were not instigating anything. Phrases like 'get out' and 'go home' were directed at us multiple times.Additionally, the condition of the property itself was disappointing. The cleanliness was subpar, with dirty furniture that was either broken or worn. When raising the blinds, we found dead bugs—lots of them—on every windowsill, and there was food residue all over the cabinets in the kitchen. One of the beds had a mattress that sagged significantly in the middle, and the bedding was cheap and quite old.Traveling all the way from California with five children on a tight budget, we found ourselves unable to relocate, especially during the holiday season. We are very disappointed with VRBO and Evolve for not adequately vetting or representing this property, leading to a distressing experience overall.

We especially enjoyed this property because it backs up to the jungle. So many birds and wildlife roamed around. The many fruit trees were also welcomed.

Relaxing stay for a rainforest retreat. Lots of space; we enjoyed the downstairs with comfortable couch and TV after long days. Appreciated that there were plenty of toiletries and towels. Host also provided water bottles which was a nice touch. Excellent washer/dryer as well. Communication was great.

The write up for the property is accurate. I really liked the location, it was ideal for getting around and seeing the sites without too much driving. There’s also good food options around Pahoa. The lack of A/C was hard for us just because it makes the inside more humid and attract more pests. There’s also a lot of wildlife singing their songs at night.

We were a group of six friends vacationing at Big Island, and stayed at Hilo for three nights. The accommodation here was spacious, in a quiet neighbourhood, and midway between Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. The host was very accommodating and got us items that were either missing or had run out. We had a nice stay.

A group of six of us stayed here for three nights. The property is very spacious with one bedroom at the top level (with a king bed) and two bedrooms on the bottom (with two queen beds) and very comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet (although the coqui frogs sure were loud), and the location is convenient to both Hilo, and the Volcanoes National Park. The host was very accommodating and got us items that were either missing or had run out. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The property is very comfortable and spacious. We stayed upstairs and our adult children stayed downstairs. We enjoyed the Netflix entertainment on both tv screens. We spent time visiting Kalapana and Hawaii Volcanoes NP. We saw lava.

My family enjoyed this rental place. It very spacious, clean, and we are able to use many of the items the house had (cooler, kitchen items). Pet friendly, lots of outdoor space. Very quiet neighborhood.

We used this rental while getting the feel of the island. We visited Hilo, Kona, and Volcano National Park. We worked from the rental in the morning and went visiting different areas in the early afternoons. Plenty of space for the grandparents, us, and our two kids. The property manager was great. He sent us nearby attractions and shopping areas. And thoughtfully dropped off a can opener when I said one was needed. The only room for improvement is the need of some boogie boards, and some more screens around the upper lanai as the bugs came out in the evenings and it was hard to enjoy that area.

Note: Vacancy calendar is approximate. Visit the owner/manager's reservation site to verify your dates.
