This place is right in the middle of it all. If you don’t plan to go anywhere else on the island this location is perfect, you can walk to almost everything. Even the grocery supermarket is only 0.7 miles away if you feeling the need. The garden/pool view is peaceful and serine, you may even get a view of a mongoose or two.

Make sure you know that there is not an elevator on property so if you’re not on the first floor it will be difficult with luggage. Also, during our stay, there was rarely someone at the front seat which makes getting help difficult. CeCe the property owner was amazing and very helpful. We just had to ask all our questions over messages due to the absent desk attendant.

Room was clean and well equipped… There was a phone number provided for communication so I used it and the host rudely said do not text me. Please use the communication app which I was having trouble with… Also, I was hoping for early check-in as nobody was in the room, but That took a while and the host did not seem accommodating. So that was the only real negative to the experience.

Parking in the area was very limited but we were able to check in early just to get a spot. Extremely close to restaurants and shops. Studio was clean and compact the only downside was no good location to plug in my CPAP. Minor, since I slept well without it. Would use again.

The condo was a beautiful location, loved the view of the property, very tropical. the Room itself is just a room to sleep in , most of the time we spent exploring the island. The host, however, is cheap. No coffee in the room . Vo5 for shampoo. She will charge you extra for the use of the space and items there . It’s best not to go to the beach and track sand back into the house and please don’t use her towels or other amenities in the room otherwise she will charge you extra! I cleaned up some spilled coffee with the kitchen towel she had there and she wants me to replace it instead of just washing it . Same with the bath towels. We used them , She wants us to replace them instead of just washing them. She said we flooded the patio 😂 and sent a ridiculous picture of ice melting that we dumped out a small cooler. I thought the ice would dry up pretty quickly seeing how it’s so hot there but now she needs a deep clean for that and sweeping up some sand charging $75. She’s absolutely ridiculous with her expectations. Definitely recommend the condo itself however avoid this room specifically because of the host .

Only complaint is the door to the apartment was very challenging to close. The top corner was warped from moisture causing having to slam the door making a lot of noise and then slam your shoulder in the door in order to secure from inside the apartment.
Parking was limited when arriving in the evening, had to park off the busy highway.

Checking in was uninformative. Getting into the unit was like having to half break down the door. Stood on a chair to turn on the inefficient air conditioner because remote wouldn’t work. Asked at check in location about wi/fi connection. I was told to message the owner as they know nothing about that. The entire place is old and shabby. I initially had to send out three different messages before I was even given the address to this place. I do not recommend.

This was an exceptional location, beautifully landscaped. The room was nicely decorated the little kitchenette had everything we needed. Balcony was lovely every morning. We appreciated beach chairs, boogie board snorkel gear beach umbrella just made our stay so seamless. Plenty of parking nearby.

Horrible communication with property manager. Did not respond until an hour later after several texts and calls to owner and co owner. Booked a hotel down the road and answered after. Long day of traveling for my partner and I and was unable to get a refund as well

I chose this hotel because I wanted to live like I was in a condominium. The room was nicely appointed and the interior was lovely. Mornings spent on the terrace were pleasant, and there were parasols and snorkeling sets, so it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

Great location. Had to contact owner for check-in instructions. Had to push hard to open and close front door. No block out blinds for people who are sensitive to light. 2 remotes to use TV. Would be helpful to have instructions on how to use. No kitchen sink plug, only a sink strainer, which seems to be common with condo rentals. Fridge needs to be defrosted. Had an induction cooktop and ice cube trays, which appear to be a bonus for kitchenette set-ups.

Very nice unit with a nice view of the pool. As other people has stated parking is challenging. But I always found a place in the lot or right next to the property on the street. The bed is comfortable and I slept well. Minor issue with some small ants in the bathroom.owner was very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Really beautiful setting with balcony overlooking the pool and lush tropical courtyard, the website photo doesn't so it justice. Just a 2 minute walk to the main ocean-front boulevard with restaurants and shops. Comfortable bed and everything was clean. The small kitchenette consisted of an induction hotplate and microwave, so you'll probably want to take advantage of the many nearby restaurants. The only downside was limited parking, we had to park across a very busy road. We would definitely stay here again!

This is the 2nd time we stayed here! Its a sweet spot that is conveniently located the room was clean andeasy to get into. My only complaint is is the parking situation. There’s not enough parking spots and the ones they have are very small. in the heart of Kona and close to everything.

A lovely place to stay in a central part of Kona with restaurants and shopping within walking distance. My only feedback is the door to our unit was not easy to open and close, it stuck and made a terrible loud sound when opening and closing. It was terrible enough for me to mention it here. Otherwise a great place to stay while in Kona. The host responded quickly when contacted and that was very much appreciated. Mahalo!

Room was very nice but the deodorizer was a major problem. Iron gate door in addition to heavy metal door for safety. Good location for walking to shops and restaurants . The property needs some attention. Checked out on time waiting in lobby for Uber. They said they lost key to bathroom made no attempt to resolve and would not let us back in room or an alternative. So.. room was nice “resort” staff was not … property manager has not got back to us with name of deodorizer/cleaning product.

This condo was a perfect location for our stay. Centrally located right on the main street where all the shops, restaurants, and beaches are. You really wouldn't even need a rent a car if you stay here, unless you plan to tour other parts of the island on your own. Room was very clean and well equipped. Bed and sheet were comfortable. Pretty much turnkey. Check in and check out were easy. We even were offered a last minute upgrade at no charge and ended up with an ocean view for our stay. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting a great stay with lots of amenities and right on the beach. We very much enjoyed our stay here!

The Kona Islander Inn is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Kailua Kona. The front desk staff is wonderful and extremely friendly. The pool and hot tub are very clean and enjoyable. We would go out of our way to exit the property through the garden every time.
The balcony of the unit is dirty, so wear your shoes. We wished we had a swiffer. However this where we spent our mornings and evenings, its a super enjoyable space away from the bustle of Ali’i Drive. The bed is super comfortable, we found ourselves waking up to sunrise naturally everyday. The kitchen/bathroom space is adequate. We could make breakfast and lunch without issue.
The pool and hot tub are rarely busy, and a well kept space. The staff works hard to ensure well kept grounds.
There will be bugs as your hanging out around a congregation of people in the tropics, butIi would highly recommend this unit and the Kona Islander Inn.

Mixed tenancy in this property long and short term renters. The room pics were pretty promotional and not a accurate representation. They have done a decent job updating a old property to livable space. Proximity was pretty good most everything was within walking distance. Hearing the waves late at night was cool hearing the cars not so much.

My boyfriend & I hopped over for a short weekend, visiting from Kauai. We knew the area well, but did not realize how close the complex was to all of our favorite resturants and shopping. The studio is small but cute and well maintained and enough room for us to sleep, as we holoholo'd the whole time we were there. One issue occured when we got there: the cleaners cleaned the worng room and ours was dirty when we checked-in. The host Cece, herself, cleaned it herself immediately and we swam in the pool until it was ready. We we not in a rush anywhere so it was not a major deal, but we were grateful is was handled right away because we were ready to get unpacked and settled. We would stay there again on our next trip back to Kona. Mahalo Cece.

The room was very clean. I was nervous after reading poor reviews of the Kona Islander Inn. I am happy to say, the front desk workers were helpful, the room had everything we needed. We were able to contact Cece and check in an hour earlier than advertised. The grounds at the Inn were well maintained.

I booked 2 nights at the beginning of my vacation. Check-in was easy. I went to the room. It was not the 'Contemporary Studio.' It was basically a 2 bed hotel room. I think this was a prior hotel that was converted into 'condos.' Depending who the owner is of each condo you will differences in amenities. Therefire ther was not a true kitchenette; no 2 top stove top. 1 bed was broken.
On the plus side it was in front of ocean with an unobstructed view.
I spoke to property mgmt assistant and they were previously made aware of broken bed. Yet, nothing was done about that.

This is a well-appointed, hotel-room sized condo in a nice complex. It’s balcony look on to the pool. If you want to be in the heart of Kona and have a small number of people it is great. Check-in is done through the complex’s front desk. Parking can be a nightmare, especially if you arrive at night. The room was very clean and comfortable.
