We had a wonderful time while staying at the condo. Everyone that works at the resort is so nice and ready to answer any questions you may have. They are always smiling. The one pool that we were at every day has a water slide and everyone loved. We had a few little things wrong with condo but Epic Raelty answered our call and fixed problem within an hour. They were amazing. I would give them 5 stars. I also have to mention the beds were so comfortable. The view amazing every night . The only thing I could find a little bit off would be some of the furniture is a bit worn looking .

We stayed in Honua Kai 215 the first week of June. We've stayed at countles VRBO rentals over the years and this is one of just a few that exceeded the description and pictures on the listing. Both the resort and the unit exceeded our expectations. We would stay here again without second thought. Our kids loved the pool and snorkeling from the beach on the property.
A couple points to note:
1) Having read some of the other less positive reviews I was a little anxious about the painting project on the property, and the shared lanai. However, neither was an issue. Other than the equipment in the courtyard it was barely noticeable. I wouldn't be surprised if the work on the Hokulani tower is done by now. It seemed very close when we were there and was isolated to the front of the tower nearest the pool. We did not have issues with workers using the shared lanai for our unit and never had issue with any other guest attempting to use the space. The shared lanai is no less private than sitting on one of the private lanais separated by a glass wall and 15 ft of open space, in my opinion.
2) The wifi name and password was different than what was shared in our check-in information. The current name and password can be found on the back of the router next to the TV in the living room. Had I not recently updated the equipment for our own Internet service at home I might not have known where to look.
All in all we had an amazing time and hope to return again sometime in the future!

We stayed in Honua Kai 215 the first week of June. We've stayed at countles VRBO rentals over the years and this is one of just a few that exceeded the description and pictures on the listing. 1. Private Lanai was not Private.
This unit was listed as having a large private lanai. VRBO listing clearly stated that this unit has one of the largest private lanai's on the property. It was not private and was actually shared with many other units & has a door to the main building meaning anyone could enter your space.
2. Door lock to the shared Lanai was broken.
The door from the unit to the Lanai had a broken lock. We reported this & during our two-week stay, no one came to fix it. It was especially problematic given the shared lanai Others have mentioned this issue in reviews.
3. Uncommunicated Construction.
We reserved this unit in April 2022 for a trip in March 2023. We were never warned that we would be unable to use our lanai during our 2-week trip due to construction, the lanai was filthy, there was a constant stream of construction crews using our it as their main pathway from the hotel to the construction happening on the outside of the building. We had zero privacy. Having travelled from Vancouver it was highly disappointing to not being able to enjoy any outdoor dining/relaxing from our unit after having specifically booked this unit due to what was marketed as a "large private lanai". My 16 month old son fell b/c of the sticky residue from the construction crews.
4. Lack of action from the Property Manager.
It took 4 wks of fighting to receive any financial compensation due to our issues.
I would not book with this Property Manager/unit again.

Worst part then was the workers about 12 or so using our patio for in and out of job site. At 7:40 each day except weekend they walk by my bedroom window and living room were we are. I had grandkids and could let them play on patio because the workers were going in and out threw a side door and our patio. Would not book again threw Epic manui vacation rentals And Vrbo.

Everything was great. There were plenty of towels, sheets, and pillows for all of us. Everything we needed to know was given to us in writing. It made it easy for check in, check out, and everything in between. There is a lot of construction/painting go on around the outside of the resort, and we couldn’t use the patio area the last day and a half, but at that point it wasn’t a big deal. We loved our stay.

My husband, our adult son and myself stayed at the 215 - 2 bedroom condo. We had rented another condo in the same resort for our 2 adult daughters and their spouses. We spent the Christmas holidays in Maui and this condo was the headquarters for all our family gatherings. Everything worked like clockwork for our stay. Check in was a breeze, the view was great and the condo was wonderful, with lovely décor. Kim responded quickly to any questions we had about the condo. We would definitely come back to the Honua Kai.

The property itself is very nice. It was the management group that this was booked through that was terrible. When we arrived our room wasn't ready and we had to wait till 6:30 pm to get our luggage and have access to our room. We had booked a vacation during a time that they were painting and the only correspondence we received from Epic Realty was that there was potential for our room to be affected. Never an offer for refund or change of room. When we arrived there was a sign on door to the lanai that it was dangerous and we couldn't use it. The furniture was stacked and covered, there was trash from the workers who were on our lanai many times through our stay, heavy machinery in our view and running and beeping constantly. Also the heavy machinery had a lift bucket that was on our lanai often! We attempted to speak with Epic Realty many times with promises of a response that never came. They did refund a very small amount (5%) before taxes and fees but compared to the flash sale of 25% that they were offering to new customers at the time was definitely less than acceptable. When you travel to paradise and save for such a memorable vacation, you expect more and if it would have been their own personal vacation, I am sure they would have been less than satisfied with the circumstances! Their competitors in this space are doing a much better job and offering refunds or a change in room or property as we have learned from friends who have a reservation for this week.
Make sure when you are booking reservations on any third party website that they are not the property management team you are booking under and working with because they don't care about you or your vacation!

Balcony was not fully available due to maintenance although we were given a partial refund so that was fair. Check in was a cluster, not as email described with security being a bit unwilling to help w general parking questions. Space was roomy and well decorated, kitchen fully stocked. The living room furniture was old, not comfy and not clean. That needs changing. Locks were changed to keypad entry while we were there. It took 2 days to figure out a code that would open our door. All else was enjoyable.

Excellent location. Honua Kai is right on the beach. You can walk in just minutes to the ocean for the day or a fabulous sunset. My kids have snorkeled in the past on this beach and you see turtles and fish very easily. I had two turtles pass me in shallow water while I was taking pictures of Lanai. Unit comes with 3 Tommy Bahama beach chairs and a cooler. There’s quality body boards also in the closet for use. Pools were crowded with families most days. Would recommend getting a cabana a head of time for more relaxing time. We had #8 and was perfect. Out door lanai was really nice. Killer sunset view from this location.note the lanai Is a shared space with the entire floor but it’s blocked off so that folks don’t wander from the other units into the area in front of your sliding doors. I was concerned about this but it wasn’t a problem. AC was cool and fans were awesome as it was 87+ all the days we visited. Bathrooms are big and well appointed. Rooms were also nice size with plenty of closet and dresser space Living/ dining room space and TVs were not used as ate outside on the lanai but the area is big and set up well. Kitchen and fridge were full size and easy to use. We cooked 4 out of 5 nights with no problems. Outdoor BBQ areas are easy to use and high end - Viking . Units is on second floor close to stairs so it was easy to by pass elevator to get out to the ground floor. Dukes is nice to have on property we ate there the one night we didn’t cook. Times grocery store is a quick walk across the street. I recommend it over Safeway. Also some really good food trucks. Next to the property. The dole whip across the street is also excellent. Fresh Fish market and ABC store also within walking distance. Don’t miss out on the chance to bbq some fresh local fish. We did mahi mahi - Opah - ahi. Wi-Fi gave us trouble but i never looked into the cause as our phones got perfect reception with out it. This pl

We had an amazing stay at this property and the hotel amenities were great as well! It is a beautiful, well appointed condo prefect for a relaxing vacation. The beds, pillows, and living room furniture were all very comfortable and much needed after 10 days being on 2 different islands, Maui being our third and this was our 4th hotel. This stay was designed to relax and recharge before our long long flights home and it fit the bill! Would stay again!!!

We were very happy to have found this property. It is remarkably spacious and allowed for us to have a relaxing spring break. The wraparound lanai is shared but no one bothered us. Overall we would highly recommend and look forward to a return trip!
