I've stayed in building C before so I knew how beautiful the location is. The condo itself needs a real big deep clean. It smelled very musty when we first entered like it had been closed up for quite a while. We spent the first hour cleaning counters, tables, coffee tables so we could put our groceries and things away. The showers had mold/mildew in them. We reached out and had them come clean. Upon return it smelled like bleach. However, the mold in showers was not cleaned properly. This condo needs a deep clean. The kitchen cabinets contained food that should not be kept long term and even a presciption cough syrup. We could tell this condo had not had a cleaning even though we paid a cleaning fee.

Makena Surf was fantastic. Our first time staying in the Wailea/Makena area. The Condo was clean, spacious and well stocked. The property was well maintained and the grounds beautiful. We snorkeled every day and enjoyed the Turtles, Fish and Coral immensely. Management team was very responsive and helpful. We definitely recommend this location and condo!!

The condo is high end and very well appointed. They have thought of everything. The view is simply amazing. A previous review mentioned the king bed not being great but we thought it was very comfortable and slept well. The showers were lovely and I appreciated the tile work and design. The property is beautiful and maintained very well. I like the gated community and resort feel. Beach was never crowded and people were totally chill. You can snorkel right from the beach and spot various fish and turtles. The pool for the most part was relaxed as well. Only one family was noisy and extremely inconsiderate as they ignored all the rules. No reflection on this unit or property but the proximity to the pool means it is convenient to use but noisy if the wrong group is being obnoxious. Don’t suffer, call security.
If I had any suggestions I’d probably request a step stool. The cupboards are quite tall and I couldn’t reach anything past the first shelf. My husband is tall so he was fine for reaching everything so we were fine.
The kitchen has every dish you could possibly need. The appliances are very new and modern. Everything worked as advertised and was as lovely as the pictures depicted. No surprises or disappointments. We had a great eight day stay. Mahalo for having such a wonderful place available to rent. Paradise found.

This is the second time we've stayed in this complex - the property is perfect for families and a quiet stay. The view is spectacular and the beach is practically private for the residents of the complex. It's well maintained and very quiet. The shopping center is very close so it's easy to get nearly anything you need without having to travel very far.

Fantastic property. The view is as good as in the pictures. Well equipped kitchen permits easy meal preparation. Gas grill worked well too. Only critique would be that the king size bed mattress is on the older side and caves in towards the middle. Otherwise everything else was ideal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Makena Surf condo. The condo was clean and very spacious. The west facing deck was perfect for watching the amazing Maui sunsets. The kitchen was well stocked with lots pots and pans, good knives, and lots of dishes. There were several beach chairs, an umbrella, and wagon that made our time at the beach very comfortable. I reached out with a few questions upon arrival and received a very prompt reply. I would love to return to the condo for another vacation and would recommend this rental to anyone!

This was the perfect location, leaving the back doors open and listening to the waves crash all day and smell the sea breeze was incredible. Great amenities, loved having plenty of beach chairs and towels. The beach was quiet and perfect for body boarding and snorkeling. Community grounds were well kept and filled with kind people and service workers. Really an amazing place to stay.

We were here in late January 2023 and the property is just how it looks in the listing. Check in even late at night was seamless with gate and door codes. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with basics and good cooking equipment and the views from the kitchen and deck were amazing.
Since we were here in January, we saw whales from the deck every day, sometimes quite close in. They were very easy to spot while we were there, but if they’re further out the kayak tours from a nearby beach would lead you to them.
The beach was pretty quiet even though Maui itself was quite busy during our stay. The pool was a great change of pace and the tennis/pickleball courts were used regularly but it was still easy to find time to use them with a little sign up sheet.
The property management gave clear instructions and everything worked perfectly in the unit so we didn’t need to contact them otherwise. Overall it was a great stay and we plan to come back to this unit in the future.

What a stunning place! The view and the property is so pretty and very private. We left lanai doors open at night and we got to go to sleep to the sound of the ocean. This is truly the perfect place to stay with your family.

Makena Surf is a fantastic place to experience the best of Maui. This condo is definitely ocean beach-front, on one of the best beaches for enjoying the ocean. From the lanai we enjoyed great ocean views and amazing sunsets. There is swimming, boogie boarding, sunbathing and great snorkeling. We saw several Honu (green sea turtles) and other marine life snorkeling. The condo was well stocked and had everything we needed for a stress free time. Also included was the beach equipment, towels, cooler, chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, toys, wagon, etc. The property is very tropical and well maintained, quiet with easy access to the beach and pool. The VIP team was great to work with. We had a wonderful week staying here and highly recommend this rental.

Little things- like super comfortable beds, awesome grill, smart TVs, crazy good shower pressure- we’re all bonuses. I’d come back in a heartbeat. The beach felt private, as did the area in general. Can’t wait to come back!

As soon as we stepped into this unit we knew it was going to be a great 11 days! The unit was beautiful- so clean, well-stocked, comfortable beds! We traveled with our 17 year old daughter and 22 year old son, and even though it was only two bedrooms, they were each able to have their own queen beds in their room. It worked out absolutely perfect for our situation! And, oh my! the views were spectacular - gorgeous sunsets every night, over a beautiful beach that felt like it was our own private spot. The beach and pool were both just steps away. Shopping was close and accessible. We can’t say enough good about this property. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon!

Valley Isle were just so amazing to work with. Wendy was very communicative and really helped me make some necessary changes due to covid. The condo was stunning and when a small issue came up with a shower handle they credited us very generously. all in all could not have been happier with the team and our stay, thanks to everyone.

We traveled with our two twenty something kids and my mother and we all loved this condo! The view was so perfect that it didn’t seem real and the sliding wall of doors opened our living room to paradise. The complex was peaceful, meticulously maintained and the plants were amazing. The direct sidewalk to the beach and the use of the condos chairs and umbrella were wonderful. We stayed on the small quiet beach for hours on end and even snorkeled at the cove right off the beach. The star gazing was epic and and again with the view, but the sun setting behind the island in the distance was beautiful each night. The kitchen was very well appointed, though we didn’t cook any meals, only sandwiches and breakfast, had we wanted to, we would have had everything we could have needed. The comfy furniture was great for a late night family movie and the rooms were perfectly dark and quiet for a good nights sleep. This is a less touristy and quieter part of Maui, which we loved, while still only being 10min from restaurants and shopping. This condo was a great find and I would highly recommend!

View, View, View! The home is beautiful, well appointed and our whole family was blown away with the view! The beach is awesome and just steps away. All of us saw Sea Turtles while snorkeling at the beach!! And after a day at the beach we enjoyed the sunsets while sitting on the deck. The home had everything we needed, a well stocked kitchen, plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, and even a wagon for the little ones. There were 6 adults and 3 infants and we had plenty of room. The indoor/outdoor living of the condo with the glass sliding doors that opened up all the way gave us lots of room and we felt like we could reach out and touch the ocean. We only wish we had stayed longer!!

First of all, the photos do *not* do justice to Makena Surf. The unit-wide sliding windows make you feel like you're *on* the beach. The waves crashing, palm trees blowing in the wind, and the most amazing sunsets you'll ever see in your life. The condo was super clean and well stocked with the essentials, and there was a binder with very clear instructions on where everything was located in the unit, where to take the trash/recycling, etc. It was super quiet and we barely saw any other people. Since the ocean gives some nice background noise, we never heard any other people on the neighboring patios, not even once. A 30 second walk down a path to the most amazing beach, warm water, and small waves that our 10, 9, and 7 year old kids played in all week. One of the days was a little windy and the waves were a little bigger, but that was their favorite time to jump in the waves. We saw several sea turtles swim by us as we swam in the ocean, and a few people saw more cool stuff snorkeling in the rocks right by us. They had boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels for us to use, so we took advantage. 6 stars out of 5, would definitely stay again. One thing I wished was explained more clearly in the welcome email: since we arrived so late in the day (about 9pm), there's 2 parking lots, one for the A & B units, and one for the C-G units, and we accidentally parked in the wrong lot and wandered around for a bit before we figured it out, had to go out of the gated entrance, and in to the other gated entrance about 30 yards down the road. Other than that, everything was 100% perfect, would rent again. Memories for a lifetime.

Let me start with the best thing about this unit...THE LOCATION! From the lanai, you almost feel like you are on the beach. Access to unobstructed views of the sunset without leaving the condo. From the unit, you can be in the ocean in probably 1-2 minutes and in the swimming pool in 20 seconds. Shopping and restaurants are <5 min drive away as well (There isn't a beach path). The unit came equipped with most things you would need for the beach which was very helpful (cooler, chairs, boogie board, umbrella, toys, wagon, etc). Pool was on the smaller side, but not too busy when we were there so not a problem (they have 2). It is further south of the cluster of resorts on the Wailea Beach Path so it is quieter, which was a positive for us. Resorts have free valet parking if you eat at the restaurants so it wasn't really an issue if you're not into cooking on vacation! We didn't really have any major issues so we didn't even have to interact with the management team much at all. The one time I did, they were available through text. All in all...a great time!

The location on this property is 5 stars! A short stroll to the beach along paver patios is right outside your door. We sat on the lanai and watched whales jumping most of the day. It was fantastic! We kept the wall to wall windows open almost the whole stay and let the fresh island breeze in the house. It was extremely well stocked with everything we needed, lots of kitchen items, extra sheets and linens, towels, toiletries, etc. The grounds are immaculate and super quiet. Right down the front steps is the pool and hot tub. There was no more than a couple of people in it at all times, it was great! When the kids got tired of the ocean we would retreat to the pool. All of the groundskeepers and staff were extremely friendly. Gated community so no need to worry about belongings in the car.
This is our 3rd time staying in Maui and by far our FAVORITE rental. Wailea is super quiet and laid back. Close to the mall and grocery store. Also great walking paths! Would highly recommend. We fit 4 adults and 4 kids comfortably. The couch pulled out into a bed.
