This was our 2nd time staying in a condo at Wailea Ekolu village. This unit was very nice with a fantastic view. We would definitely return to this unit in the future.

We stayed a week in the condo and had a lovely time. The apartment is cozy but the mirrors and the lanai made it feel more spacious. As mentioned, it is just next door to the pool which we did use a bit. Walking distance is still a bit far to the beaches by the resorts (and an uphill walk back) so we ended up driving to beaches south of the property which were lovely and uncrowded. This is our first time in the Wailea area, having stayed in the Kaanapali area previously, the local shopping area had the typical high end shops which were fun to walk through. The Island convenience store is in that complex and is well stocked with convenience foods and simple grocery items. Kihei is just 10 minutes north and had great casual restaurants that felt relaxed and more local. We did splurge at the Lineage restaurant nearby on our last night there and enjoyed the Asian food there (high praise for us folks from the bay area) The property is quiet and well maintained. The condo has two bedrooms with AC in each room-- we only needed for one or two days when we came back for lunch. Otherwise the condo cools down nicely at night with cross winds. The kitchen is well stocked although some of the knifes are getting a bit dull. The in unit washer and dryer was helpful for midweek clean up. Towels, picnic chairs, umbrellas and a cooler were in the hall closet which were great for beach trips off site. Bello Realty was responsive to inquiries. There is a $30 insurance fee that the property management puts into their fees so you do not need to take the VRBO insurance. There is a lovely water view as shown in the pictures. Parking was easy, with plenty of spaces in front of the unit. Thanks for a great stay!

This was our best stay ever at Ekolu Village. We walked into a very clean unit and it opened up into the most spectacular view. Watching whales and sunsets from our deck while overlooking the pool Booking was easy and the manager of this property was wonderful speak with.

The expansive view from the lanai is the real selling point here. Ekolu is a very quiet property - even down to the landscaping which was almost exclusively done by hand rather than loud power tools, except for one day with a short burst of lawn mowing. Even after a big storm came through, the sweeping was still done with palm fronds! There was hardly anyone at the pool which is just in front of the condo. We walked down the shopping areas for a few meals and the meandering well paved paths made that easy. While the interior of the condo is perfectly nice, some of the maintenance was a little lacking, cleaning looks a little hasty (tile floors are swept, but not clean, if you know what I mean - bare feet don't lie ;-). Cloth napkins (which we really like) had been used by a previous guest, but not cleaned. Some other kitchen in items were broken but just put back in the drawer. Same with the lounge chair on the lanai - it's there in the pictures, but when our daughter sat on it, the seat bolt was missing, so it's unusable. Communication was inconsistent. We asked for a corkscrew when we discovered there wasn't one in the drawer, and they dropped one off the same day, but when we reported a water leak (email subject line "water leak in Ekolu 1406") under the sink and a toilet that was running, we didn't hear back from the property manager about it until I sent another email 4 days later just to make sure they got my first one. Mitigating water damage and cleaning under sinks is not really what I expected on vacation and I understand it was the holidays, but can you really close a property management office for 4 days when you have guests? The smoke detector had been removed in the primary bedroom, so that's a bigger safety issue. None of these things impacted our stay in a critical way but they just point to a little less care than would be ideal for a property in this location.

This is a nice upper-story unit in the 1400 building of the Wailea Ekolu condos. We have stayed at the Ekolu property five or six times and we would definitely stay in this unit again. The only drawback is that’s it’s a very far walk to The Shops at Wailea and the market. But overall, a great unit and a good value.

I honestly can't think of one bad thing to say about this amazing property! The interior was impeccable, the view more amazing than we could have ever asked for, the pool just a short walk from our front door, and parking very easy to find.
We watched the sunset from our balcony every night we were home and found everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas. The finishes were high quality, and each room was beautiful with plenty of storage.
We would book this property again in a heartbeat!

the apartment is a lived-in comfy home. the views from the terrace over the ocean at sunset is why one comes to Maui.
My only complaint: the master bed needs a firm new mattress. Currently soft and sinks. We slept in the second bedroom by pushing the single beds together. Mattresses firmer.
I will keep the address and look forward to revisiting in the future

We loved our stay! It was clean, beds were comfy and the beach towels were nice and big. It was well equipped and had beach chairs and an umbrella. The only thing I wished we had was a cooler. We had beautiful views off the lanai and the pool was nice and close. We would definitely stay here again!
